Metaphor: Yes, it is possible. Gunmetal changed a username the other day, because it was faulty due to having a space at the beginning, and therefore lead to an error page when clicked on.

I love this idea... I was too young when I made my account and thought that my username is good. But now that I'm more matured I think that my username sucks. It even gave me trouble'cause most users here think that I'm a girl. :'(

I pretty much disagree more than agree... It would be so confusing O.o' Atleast there should be a little sign on the profile below the user's gender saying something like "This user has changed its username from (...) to (...)." So atleast we can know if they have changed their username......

That's a good idea, Feline. Especially for respals that haven't noticed.

Yes, he did, Horse. But for example; having a username like 'Water ' and then simply changing it to 'Water' is an entirely different matter than changing your username from 'Jesto3920' to 'Mike'. Wouldn't there be an identity crisis too?

I think the username change would be good, but maybe one year, not two. The credit shop idea...well it seems fair.

I agree with the idea. I joined up in '06 under a username I'm not at all fond of now. At the time, it went with my role-playing and I was very into it, but I was younger then and would like a slightly less...childish-sounding username. I would also really love to get rid of the underscores xD.

I agree with this because I 've been playing Res for a while and I decided to support all the people who want to change their usernames because many of them where younger and immature (not the bad way :) ) and as a result of that they created a username without knowing how is that going to affect them in the future. I also am not satisfied with my username (yes I was immature too XD) and I believe that the 2 year period is nessecery so that the player will consider the new username he/she wants to have so that he/she won't have to change it ever again.

Players of Rescreatu who have accounts that are older than 2 years, may have one username change. Only one, but I think that we were all younger when we first created our accounts, and our usernames may not sound as appealing as they once did. You said it, Horseluvvaaa ^o^

Bump. I'm so in love with this idea, I'm going to cling to the topic until the list of people agreeing is so long Pat and his staffies will have to let 2+ year users have a name change. *crosses fingers* I'm even embarr*censored*ed to an extent post under my username, its so juvenile to me xD

I agree as well; looks like there are certainly a lot of people, including me, who did the same thing with being younger and not quite considering their usernames, or who just grew out of them. I didn't really think about my username at all when I joined. I just used my then-current obsession. I do still like Yoshi, but I quite dislike the being called 'yoshirules' at times.. or even just 'yoshi' with a lowercase Y. That bothers me. D; ... There is something I've been thinking of, pertaining to usernames.. even though, other than that, it doesn't really have to do with this thread in particular. x3 It would be nice to be able to change the capitalisation of one's username in the same way that's been done with Creatu names. It's not quite as much as a full-out name change, but it's something. It would be like a free version to a username change, similar to how the cap-change is the free version versus using a Name Tag on a Creatu.

I fully agree. I don't like the shortened words in my username and I'd love to be able to shorten it to Tacos if possible, or at least have Tacos out in front, since that's what I prefer to be called. The two year wait seem perfectly reasonable to me. After two years, a player will have learned what value their username has on a day to day basis(which is, of course, not the same for every person). They will know to change it to something that they will be comfortable with for a long time.
