Ok so I think this idea would be fun for everybody and easy for the site to do!
Every week at the end of the week an Update should be posted with an Award/Ti
tle and the user that it goes to. Not that it means anything really, no trophies, no prizes, etc. Just a weekly award and pick-me-up :)
I.E.
This week's "Most Generous Player" award goes to ShadowStrike. Congratulations, ShadowStrike!
This week's "Coolest Cat Around" award goes to thehippi. Congratulations, thehippi!
This week's "Best Head of Support" award goes to 14brokenmirrors. Congratulations, 14brokenmirrors!
This week's "Most Epic User" award goes to _______. Congratulations, _______!

Good idea, but I can sense rivalries, hate/drama looming if it goes through.

I'm sorry, but I do not support this. For one, it won't really benefit Res in anyway. While it might be fun to get awards, some people might not get any and may get jealous. And before you know it, there will be blog after blog written by people complaining and whining because they haven't gotten an award. Not everyone can get an award, so in a way, it's almost like leaving others out. You do not have the Sona's support. :c |

I don't really support because it makes other users feel bad. Also the awards are always going to be handed out to the people that are more popular on Res, those who go on either the forums or SB a lot. So in the end no support, sorry.

I like this idea in that its goal is to thank users who have done good in the Res community.
Rules can be put in the help get rid of favoritism. What other pros and cons are there?

I would just like to weigh in and say that I do not believe there should be any awards relating to staff positions. To include those would mean every non-staff on site had no chance of winning, which I see as biased and unfair.

Sorry, just seeing all these!
Guys, I am not meaning this as any popularity contest. The point is that no ti
tle/award would ever be used more than once! My examples were also very basic and generic to give you guys an idea. There can be no favoritism or jealousy because the titles are just random things! Like crowflux said.
I mean one of the titles can even be like "Bounciest User"! They aren't status symbols and cant necessarily be achieved purposely by anyone because no one knows what would be next. The point is to bring joy and smiles to people and make them feel noticed and special. |

tle be able to be worn the next week in the forums.. Like underneath the winners avatar where the mod and normal user status's are? And They would change the next week, etc.
This seems like it would be fun.

Not supported, I feel this would cause wars between users to get a particular award...and how does one decide on who gets what award..there are many kind users, there is not one user who is kinder then another user

I have thought a bit and it does seem like a fun thing to do, but someone might feel bad or start saying mean things. It really could go either way, I still support but we might need to take caution in the way we do this. It's supposed to just be a fun game, but I'm afraid someone will start feeling bad. It might make a user who doesn't feel very appreciated feel more appreciated so again it could go either way.

What if this idea was made into a sort of lottery, and each week the ti tle would be listed up front. Then you could determine whether or not you wanted to enter based on that. If you don't enter, no chance to win.
Once someone wins, their user ID could be excluded from entry in subsequent lotteries. This would prevent someone "winning" more than one ti
tle, and give a better chance to others. It would also ensure that no inactive users would be awarded.
It could be more of a temporary thing than permanent maybe; like a sort of way to introduce custom forum titles?
