Well, Its alright posting your stories onto the writers thread.

But what happens when the thread gets older and older? People don't get to see it.

Maybe, on your profile (NOT an item) you could have a section (underneath that merchant/rancher, egg market etc) called "Storybook / Story Book / StoryBook" 

In that section, you could see all that person's stories.

No support. By implementing this, we're pretty much suggesting that everyone that uses this site writes stories. If you want to put these stories on your profile, just post the links to the thread they're posted on on your profile or a pet page. Res is not a writing site and has no need to cater to such things. If you would like more people to read your stories or a better place to post them, please join a writing site (can't suggest any, google them)

I see where your coming from, but I do have another idea...

There could be a thread and you post your stories at that thread.

I agree with TY, you can keep bumping it.
Or, like Ping said, you can put links up to your story for people to see on your profile, on a pet's page, or in your signature.
I don't think the storybook is necessary.

I feel like the link you suggested beneath showroom, rancher etc. would be just kind of like the blog links. No support, bump your thread if you want people to see it :) if this were implemented, to be equal there would have to be links for other types of interests too; like there would have to be a place for artists, etc.
