,¸¸,ø¤º°` Riyo's Win-a-Mil `°º¤ø,¸¸, Enter my weekly contest and you could win 1,000,000 TU! I look for originality and thoughtfulness when picking a winner.
,¸¸,ø¤º°` Directory `°º¤ø,¸¸,
Post 1: Rules and This Week's Contest Post 2: FAQ Post 3: Past contests and winners Post 4: All about Sudo Post 5: Donators Posts 6-10: Reserved
,¸¸,ø¤º°` Rules `°º¤ø,¸¸, (Psst. Read these.) * READ THE WHOLE FIRST POST! * Post your entries on this thread. Don't RMail me! * One entry per contest unless otherwise specified. * Winners are posted in the third post on the front page. * If you want to be included in the raffle prize draw, your post must contain the word "sudo." * You MUST enter the main contest to enter the sudo raffle; however, you do not need to enter the raffle to enter the main contest. This means that if all you post is "sudo," you won't be entered for the raffle. * Despite the deadline posted for every contest, it is not technically "over" until I post "contest over", so if you see it's past the deadline but I haven't closed it yet, you can still sneak your entry in. * My profile will always contain a link to this forum if you need to quickly access it. * I will usually start the next week's contest immediately after choosing the winners of the last contest, so this is in essence ALWAYS running! * Sometimes I have difficulty choosing a single winner, so I may send a mil to two or more people. * Occasionally there will be honorable mentions. These entrants will receive between 100k-500k. * Remember to subscribe and bookmark! I also really appreciate advertising! * Riyo's Weekly Win-a-Mil! Win 1,000,000 TU or a cyid for continuing a story! ~~~ ,¸¸,ø¤º°` This Week's Contest `°º¤ø,¸¸, The winner will receive 1,000,000 TU.
This contest has been extended. There will be two winners next week.
First, make a post saying that you're going to enter. Then read the post above yours, and edit your post to continue the story from there. This is so that nobody accidentally writes for a post that has already been written for.
If you take longer than 1 hour to edit your post with your story, someone else can go instead. This is so that people who want to enter aren't made to wait for too long.
Make sure that the next person can continue where you leave off! No word limit. Have fun and be creative, but stay on topic! Especially try to be descriiptive. Don't end the story - I'll do that when the contest is over.
~~~ This Week's Raffle Prize Your choice of any cyid from the $For Sale$ category in my show room. To enter for the raffle prize, include "Sudo" in your post with your entry!
Ends on March 9th at 11:59pm, Eastern Standard Time.
,¸¸,ø¤º°` Frequently Asked Questions `°º¤ø,¸¸,
Q. Hey! I entered your contest! A. Thanks! But you really don't have to tell me. If you posted it on the thread, I'm going to read it when I judge the entries.
Q. I have a really good idea for a contest! A. If you suggest an idea for a contest and I use it, you'll go on the recognition list AND you'll receive 1,000,000 TU when that contest runs!
Q. Can I help by donating? A. If you donate anything, you'll go on the recognition list! You can donate TU, colored or rare pets or pets with nice names, or useful items. Junk, unfortunately, will not be counted. If you do send me a donation, send me an RMail as well, so I know it's for the Win-a-Mil!
Q. Can I help in another way? A. Advertising my contest really helps me out a lot, because I'm very busy with university homework, and having more entries makes me really happy. If I happen to see you advertising politely and consistently, or if somebody else does and informs me, you might get a nice prize too!
Q. Are there any more ways I could help? A. It's been a while since I've done this, and I'm so busy, that reminders on Saturdays might help me out. Send me an RMail reminding me to judge the contest and start a new one!
Q. Is the contest over? A. The first post always contains the exact date and time that the contest closes. If it's less than a day or two past that, it might still be open, if I've forgotten to close it, and entries will still be counted. If it's many days past that date, I'm afraid it's probably over and on hiatus.
Q. The contest seems really vague. Is there more to it? A. A lot of the topics I post for contests are very open ended. I like people to have a lot of freedom to enter what they want, because it's usually more interesting that way! All of the rules for the current contest are in the first post - if it's not there, then it's not a rule!
Q. I don't want the TU, but I still want to participate! A. That's fine! Just make sure you say so at the beginning of your post.
,¸¸,ø¤º°` Sudo `°º¤ø,¸¸, Sudo was designed by NegativeZero. I adopted the character depicted in her winning entry and made Sudo my own.
Sudo is a virus that was originally designed to hack into peoples' computers and steal their files and information. Riyo, with her epic computing skills, managed to capture him and reprogram him to have a conscience. To atone for all of the things he's done, he helps Riyo run her contest and chooses the raffle prizes. Using his Math.random() function, he randomly picks a winner out of everyone that says his name. Sudo is mischeivous but no longer malicious. He loves harmless pranks and is easily entertained by the simplest of jokes. Now, he truly has a kind heart, and is saddened when he sees hate in any form.
Sudo has bright green hair and vibrant cyan colored eyes. His hair floats around him in a gravity-less manner. The whites of his eyes are black, giving him a slightly eerie appearance. His skin is tan. His arms are mechanical and end in long claws. He also has mechanical ears, used for picking up radio frequencies and cracking ciphers. Where his hips would begin is instead a long 'tail' of sorts, an electric bolt like lightning. This 'tail' is the same color as his hair. Underneath his eyes are vertical markings the same color as his eyes, vibrant cyan. Similar markings appear on his chest, connected to his shoulders. ,¸¸,ø¤º°` Art `°º¤ø,¸¸, NegativeZero's Original Design ,¸¸,ø¤º°` Draw Sudo Contest Winners `°º¤ø,¸¸, Click for larger picture! Howdy Riyo~ Nice to see this up again. :D
Mmm, stories yeah? Alright.
There was once a young girl. All her life she had been told by her parents that she was worthless, stupid, fat, and lazy. She quickly slipped into a depression, losing her friends and her grades. She simply couldn't care anymore; her soul itself had become a mere empty husk.
Not bother to shed a tear, to shiver or speak, she laid her laptop in front of her. Immediately after opening it, she was greeted with numerous messages.
"We love you" "You're amazing" "<3"
On and on, her email, Skype, AIM, everything. All full of love and kindness.
With a small smile, the girl wiped away a tear.
There are people who love you out there.
(FYI: We are not a French speaking country) So we were eating in this restaurant and suddenly the person at my back was talking bad things about me in a French. When he was about to say another word I immediately stood up and said, "Excusez-moi. Je comprends et parle français". And he stopped. Jaw dropped.
The sentence I said when translated to english means: Excuse me. I understand and speak french. SUDO!
The Awakening
WAM! A tall gangling man with a light mop of hair walked into me, which sent me flying into a market shall.
'Miss! I am so sorry, are you okey?' The man helped me up 'i wasnt looking where i was going'
'I am fine, im a bit clumsy sometimes, it was entirely my fault' i said, while wipeing the dirt off my clothes, 'I am Daisy.'
'Your name matches your necklace how pretty' the man complemented, 'I am Reed.'
We shook hands, it was in that moment of touching his hand that everything went funny.
I let go of Reed's hand in surprise and a piercing white light started shooting out of my necklace engulfing my body till i was no more than just a shimmering white light. Then thats when i remembered everything, the light dimmed and thousands of petals started falling off me and forming into a beautiful white dress.
Reed came up behind me, 'Queen Daisy, you have now bloomed, we search for you for a long time, welcome home.'
I took Reed's hand 'Thank you for finding me dear, i knew deep down even though i had my memorys stolen from me, i just knew you would come for me.'
'Indeed, our love runs strong, but now i have finally found you, we can have spring again and defeat The Wicked Demon Sudo for good!
I'd like to enter. ;w; Sudo~
One time, I was walking home with my friend. We got slushies at the gas station a couple blocks away and we started walking home. There's a ravine you have to cross, and it's kind of old and steep, so the concrete path is kind of scary. So, me not thinking about what's going to happen, I take the other way, with lots of trees and then there's about a six foot steep dropoff. I almost drag my friend into it, and she goes down first, landing nicely and not getting all dirty. Now it's my turn. I slip on the first step, fly backwards, slushie in hand, and slide down. I had slushie all over my face and pants and this thick brown mud streak down the back of my clothes. I couldn't stop laughing. Luckily, since there was a stream and I had a spare change of clothes, and since this happened to be the day I was wearing layers, took off my top and still having another one underneath and put on a sweater. Then since I was wearing a jean skirt, I just took that off and had my leggings which surprisingly just had a bit of dust to brush off. But man, I don't know what was funnier: slipping and getting all muddy, or my mom's ex pression when I show her my clothes.
Many years ago there was a young mother going off to a new land to try to make a better life for her children. She had heard that there were many opportunities to make a new life for yourself there. The trip was dangerous, especially for a woman. When she left, everyone cried and held her as long as they could, knowing she may never make it through. She traveled with thirteen men, posing as one of their wives so that she wouldn't be "taken advantage of." She traveled through two very dangerous countries and had to pass as a Mexican citizen. Even now she still remembers the Mexican National Anthem. This woman had to be hard as nails because one sign of weakness could lead to her death or worse. One of the hardest parts was having to swim across the Rio Grand. She had never learned how to swim. Her "husband" helped her get across. Every instant they were alert and terrified for their lives. Eventually they made it to the border and slipped through the hole in the gate. An old man who was part of their system flew each of them off to their family here in the USA. Eventually the woman got married, had another child, received permanent residency papers, and brought her other two children to live here. Now she supports her elderly mother and her remaining siblings in Colombia. My mother is crazy and tough and i admire all she did to better not only her life, but the lives of my sisters.
I guess I'll enter. Oh, and Sudo <3
Back when I was little, my sister Eya wanted a phone a lot. On Christmas Day (which was always a big holiday for us), we sorted out our presents, and the only present Eya had gotten from Santa was an alarm clock, which she was extremely disappointed by. During the middle of us opening our presents, a ringing sound went off. Eya, thinking it was one of my toys that I had yet to open, and that it would ruin my surprise if I knew what toy it was, turned to Lake and said, "Hey Lake, that's your new DS ringing, right?" Lake understood and nodded her head, then started fiddling with her DS. I wasn't an idiot though, and I could tell that there was a present under the tree that we had somehow missed. We crawled under and got it, and it was addressed to Eya. She opened it, and inside was a shiny new phone from Santa. A big smile was on our parents faces, and I could tell they had called the phone to get us to notice it.
It was a great Christmas c:
