For me, it's a tossup between mobility and speech. I need to be able to see, because I love to read and write on the computer. I need my sight to design and create, need it for my future vocation. (digital animation/game design)

A silent world wouldn't be terrible, but music is just too precious to me, as is the ability to communicate with others. Learning sign language would be tedious for me, and making others write down what they need me to hear would be unfair to them.

I've participated once in the day of silence, and I didn't say more than 5 words (by accident :/ ) for some 7 hours. It was intensely lonely. I felt so badly for all the people I knew who didn't speak up because they were afraid or shy. I know what it feels like to have something to say but be unable to say it, and it really is very lonely.

So that leaves mobility. As terribly guilty as I feel saying this, I don't move around a lot. I spend a lot of time at the computer. I spend a lot of time sitting in cla.ssrooms, driving around. I would miss riding my bicycle with my dog, but I'm sure I could train her to a wheelchair. Life would be a little more of a ha.sse, but I think I would choose to be unable to walk over all the others. Plus with a wheelchair I could train Pepper to behave super nice and take her to cla.ss with me. Epic win.

Sudo (pet is Wertymgh).

If I had to lose one ability, it would be sight for sure.

Getting to imagine what everything looks like on your own instead of seeing it every day actually sounds kind of appealing to me...Plus, I could get a seeing eye horse or something (I saw them on Oprah!).

Sudo:

I would pick unable to walk, because I sit and draw in my free time anyway. I also tell people stories, funny stories so if was mute I woulnd't be able to say my ideas, and if I wad deaf I wouldn't be able to hear people laugh. If I was bind, I woulnd't be able to draw.

Also, some days I wish I could cut off my legs because my job makes me stand for 4- 7 hours each day. It makes me tired.

And I would be able to pimp out my wheel chair.

If I had to lose an ability, one of my major senses or the ability to walk, I would choose going blind.

Without being able to hear, I would go crazy, my life depnds too much on music to lose that.

If I couldn't walk, I couldn't run or rollerblade, two of my other p*censored*ions in life.

Without being able to speak, I couldn't be in coir, once again, my life depnds on music.

If I was blind, I couldbetter detect when my tune was off in choir, I could read braille to gt my notes for music, and I would still be able to read.

Without hearing, I would be so useless. I can't move without hearing, for some reason. My hearing was damaged once and I just sat there for days, too weirded out to move.

I would lose either my ability to walk, or see. Sudo~

If I had to loose one of my senses I would choose to be mute.

Honestly I am quiet anyway, but being mute gives me a reason not to talk to people. It would also save others from me snapping at them if they say something to offend me. I aquired my mother's power in using large words to confuse an angry person which makes them sort of helpless so it would be doing a lot of people a favor for me going mute. I once participated in a day of silence for a cause in which I shall not explain because it is way to long, so I think I could live with being mute. I could totally tell them off by writting. I'm good at writting poison pen letters. ^.^

I couldn't be deaf because music means everything to me. It is my connection and the whole reason I am sane. I couldn't be blind because sight means a lot to me too. I would die if I couldn't see my neices or the lovely nature surrounding my house.

Sudo. And my pet is Chimby.

If I could choose what I had to lose, I would choose being mute.

Here are my reasons:

 1. Through writing I can express a lot more, and speech has never really been my strong point.

2. I could still hear what people are saying to me and communicate in different ways.

3. I need my eyes for art and writing, and I need my ears for music for it is my favorite thing in the world, and I want my legs because walking helps me think silently.

Sudo :)

To add one thing, I've participated in the day of silence for all those who could not speak out and be open about themselves and it was extremely hard to go all day without talking, but I did manage to communicate with my teachers and others in better ways, I find. But it was hard indeed.

I will not be on often, only to chat with friends. I am not selling any pets. Only giving them to close friends.

WE TALKED ABOUT THIS IN TOK D<. Anyone who's studied TOK will understand that every single lesson is like this:

  1. 'We have [insert number] ways of [insert verb]: ________, __________, and __________. If you would give up any one of them, which one?'
  2. Reply '[insert one of the options]'
  3. 'OMG U PEEPLE ARE SO SILLY' [do excersize to disprove you]
  4. 'See? You can't live without it. Now choose again'
  5. Repeat 2, 3 and 4 until all choices are just disproved.

TOK's supposed to 'open your mind'; but in the end, it's just fascist. I would pick losing my legs. 'Cause I'm really physically inactive.

I honestly couldn't chose.

I'm an artist, so sight is important. I'm a musician, so vocals and hearing is something I can't live without. I love to bike, it's a p*censored*ion, I couldn't lose that. Thinking about having to lose one gives me chills.
And I for sure couldn't live without Sudo, it's like a way of life.

I'd rather be deaf so I couldn't hear all the bad things people say. I would be in my little bubble of happiness, not aware of what people say. . .
If I were deaf, I wouldn't hear my parents yell at each other, I wouldn't hear someone call someone else names. . .
But in that case, I couldn't hear the music! And that's one of the only things that keeps me alive. And believe me,they're not many.

Either deaf or blind. Blind, because then, I wouldn't worry about my appareance. I fuss SO much over it.

Sudo. . . :)

If I had to choose, it would be a fight between mute and blind.

Reasons for wanting to be mute. I could learn sign language. Not simple, but I wouldn't be hampered for the rest of your life. I could enjoy silent times alone, or enjoy the company of loud, nosy guests. Being mute would also keep me from saying hurtful things. When I'm angry, I often end up saying things that should never be said to someone I love. I want to take them back but that isn't possible, so being mute might not be so bad.

Reasons for wanting to be blind. I always thought that learning brail would be a neat experience. The sensation of running your fingertips over a row of significantly placed bumps. I love books too much, so I would never give them up. I would be able to walk the earth without seeing any evil. I would listen, feel, and understand on a whole new level. I think my faith in the Lord would improve as well because what I see creates doubts in our relationship. Being blind I would also be able to listen to movies and create the character with my own imagination. From what I hear, your hearing ability improves, just a bit, with blindness, so I would be able to listen to my music and listen for those perfect harmonies. Being blind would also keep me from judging by appearance. I try not to, but your mind is an awful thing. I also wouldn't have to look at myself in the mirror or care if I have un-matching socks because I wouldn't know.

 Sudo!

I would choose to be unable to speak (mute) because I would eventually be able to regane that ability! I would live untill i was about 15 and then I would have someone teach me how to speek! Helen Keller learned how to speak and she was orignaly mute! Annie sulivan taught her! She also gave many speaches!

Sudo.

I think I'd rather not be able to see. Then I could be like that blind superhero, Daredevil. Plus, my senses of hearing, touch, taste, and smell would be enhanced!

Sudo.

I would be mute. Because, just by giving a look, I can show exactly what i'm thinking. I would rarely get into fights, unless it were on typing or something... I actually would like to be mute. Although it would be painful if someone were insulting you and you can't say anything back. Being deaf would be terrifying, as music is my soul... I can't live without it, there's rarely a moment when I stop hearing music. If I were deaf I might as well die... And not being able to walk is bad too, as I LOVE to excersise and walk around the streets with my friends, and I would be so limited if I couldn't walk. And my sight, well... I love to draw, as I can't describe myself in words, I do it with my drawings.

I'd choose being mute. The last thing I'd want to loose would be sight; I love just staring out the windows at trees and stuff, seeing the way the sun lights up the leaves. I like being able to see birds and wildlife too. And, of course, if I couldn't see, I couldn't read my books! Yes, I know I could buy books in braille, but they cost WAY more, and I probably couldn't find braille versions of all my books anyway. And I couldn't go to school. My school is a 70+ year-old nightmare for clumsy people already, I'd hate having to try and find my way through it without being able to see. o_o I'd hate not being able to walk, too, because it would mean I wouldn't be able to run, which I love to do. Being deaf wouldn't as bad as being blind or paralyzed, but if I was deaf I would be able to hear music or running water. And I wouldn't be able to play the violin if I couldn't hear what I was playing and whether I was on pitch or not. So, all in all, I guess my voice would be the best thing for me to lose, since I don't talk much anyway, and half of the things I do say just sound dumb.
