This guy is Flash.

I have decided that he needs some epic artwork, so I am holding an art contest for him.

The specifications are simple: draw/paint a picture of Flash.

It can be any medium, any style and any size, whatever you like! You have artistic freedom, as long as the picture has Flash in it.

I like colored pictures, but it doesn't have to be colored to be able to win. 

The best picture will win first prize, which is 10 million tu.

The runner up will win second prize, which is 5 million tu.

I have drawn up a few guidelines/rules for this contest.

• No posting of derogatory comments about other people’s artwork.
• No stealing others work or entering a picture drawn by anyone but you.
• You may enter as many pictures as you like, but you may only win one prize.
• You many withdraw an entry any time you like before the deadline. No entries may be withdrawn after the deadline.
• If you do not win, please no complaining about it being unfair or begging for a prize.
• If you win first or second prize, I will have officially ‘bought’ your art work, just like a commission, so I will own it and be allowed to put it up anywhere I like.
• If you do not win a prize but I still like your entry, I may ask if I can purchase it off you.
• Again, do not complain if I do not buy your artwork. I am not trying to be mean or saying that your art work isn’t good, I just may not have enough tu to buy every entry, so I may just pick a few.
• If you do not win I will not use your artwork without your permission.
• No one here is to take pictures from this thread and use them without the artist’s permission first.
• Please try not to complain about your own artwork, as in posting comments such as “Mine really sucks compared to yours” and “I’ll never win”. I want this thread to maintain a positive and happy feeling.
• If you do not adhere to these rules then I have the right to disqualify your entry and ask you to leave the thread.

Now I know some people find it hard to get inspiration to draw about a character they know nothing about, so I have put a deion of Flash’s personality on his pet page.

So go on and have a go. Even if you don’t think your artwork is very good, I would love to see as many people entering as possible, and people having a fun time drawing. :)

This contest does not have an ending date as of yet, I first wish to see how many people express interest in entering before I confirm a deadline.

(20/12/2010) UPDATE: The deadline has been decided. The contest will close on the second of January (02/01/2011) 3:00 am res time. That gives you 12 more days to enter. If anyone has a problem with this date such as they don't think they will quite be finished by then just contact me and I may alter it. :)

(31/12/2010) UPDATE 2: Due to the fact that I haven't recieved as many entries as I would have liked and there are many people who have said they would enter but haven't yet submitted anything, I have decided to extend this contest by about two weeks. This gives you all 14 days from now to finish up your entries for submission which I think is plenty of time. The new deadline is the fithteenth of January (15/01/2011) 3:00 am res time.

Note: If you have said that you would enter this competition but no longer wish to do so, please let me know so that I don't keep wondering if I should extend the deadline futher for you.

(12/01/2011) UPDATE 3: Entry submission time is now over.

From now on no more submisions will be accepted into the competition.

I will now spend a short period of time deleberating over allocation of prizes to drawings.

(I know there is many people who have said that they would enter and have not yet but I can not wait around forever for them to complete their drawing if they are still interested in entering. I am sorry to those people who could not make the deadline. If you had already done a drawing but did not get to submit it then please rmail it to me because I still may be interested in buying it off you.)

Here's the rough sketch!

I'm gonna get started on the lineart tomorrow after my final exam, so the end product will look much neater. There are also a few extra details I want to change around, too. x3
