Hello friends! Welcome to Bucky's 300 million tu art contest! WHOA.
-thunderous applause-

Please calm yourselves you beautiful people. uvu

So I've decided to host this art contest because I have some spare tu lying around -- initially it was going to be a contest to draw some random OCs of mine, but then a ~wonderful idea~ came to me as I started up a little project with a friend of mine. We are going to try our hand at a webcomic, and we've got a few characters in mind...but no character designs as of yet. Now, my friend and I have some rough concepts done up already, but we'd like to see what other people might come up with! And that's where you guys come in! Yaaaay!

So this contest is going to test more than just your ability to draw -- you'll be judged not only on your actual art skills, but on your creativity when it comes to the character design. We have 5 characters lined up for you to play around with. They all have some outlines on what we're looking for, read them, brainstorm, and then give us your best shot!

Now of course the bit you've all been waiting for...THE PRIZES! HUZZAH!

First Prize

150 000 000 tu or, an unnamed Black Jahra or 3 full colour pieces of art from moi~

Second Prize

100 000 000 tu or, 2 full colour pieces of art from moi~

Third Prize

50 000 000 tu or, 1 full colour piece of art from moi~

"But Bucky I'm really bad at art I don't think I'll have a shot so why should I enter?"

Good question friend, but fear not! 

For just submitting will earn you 1 mill tu! 

This reward is only applicable once, and only to serious entries pls. Your stickman will not get you anything...unless you make me laugh.

Additionally EACH submission will earn you 5 tickets into a raffle to win one of these:

Because this is a contest to test your creativity friend! We wanna see what you can come up with without any preconceived ideas about what the characters look like! :D

1.       NO art theft or tracing without permission/credit. This is number one because artistic integrity is extremely important to me. If I find you you've stolen art or traced art without permission (or without giving credit after permission was given), you must immediately forfeit all prizes. This rule will be enforced even after the contest is over. The legitimacy of any tracing claims will be determined by both me and my friend.

2.       By submitting your character designs to this contest, you are handing them over to me and my friend for our use in any potential medium. Note this is the design we are referring to -- not the art itself -- that remains yours and will not be used without your permission. If we decide to use your character design later on, you will be given appropriate credit.

3.       You may submit up to five entries. (Note that you will only receive the 1 mill reward for the first one). All submissions should be sent to my Rmail with the Subject: Art Contest

4.       Art may be submitted in any medium. Just make sure that if you use traditional media that your entry is clear and easy to see. Your entry can be of one character. It can be of two of them. All of them. It can be several waist-up designs, or a single full-body design. Do whatever you like.

5.       If you don't want your art displayed, please inform me in the rmail, and it will be registered as entered, but not put up.

6.       Contest's end date will be decided as the entries come in, please don't rush me. uvu

The References

The Basics
The Loveless are a group of street-rats turned thieves (so original I know). They live in a world that's pseudo-steampunk/fantasy. It's modern, but weaponry is still limited to simple pistols and swords. Monarchy is still in place in several countries. Modern day races exist, but there is also a third-race called Beastkin who are, you guessed it, anthromorphs! They are still heavily discriminated against though it's not as bad as it used to be (they used to be hunted down for sport). 

One of the characters below is full beastkin and one is half -- I have, however, given them human deions, though I'd like some small animal traits to show through in their human forms. If you feel like drawing them in their full beast-forms, go right on ahead!

Guidelines
DO NOT change their races. I've added general skin tones at the bottom for reference -- the tan characters should not just be looking very-slightly-less-white. DO NOT FOLLOW THE PANTONE COLOURS ON THE SKINTONE REFERENCES. Some of the images have been edited so the Pantone code is no longer accurate.

The first paragraphs in the physical deions typically list the traits that we've more or less settled on. You CAN change or tweak them, but that's at your own discretion. The second paragraphs typically list the traits you are free to play around with. If you decide to throw out all suggestions entirely go right on ahead, who knows? It might work.

@Tinky Cartoon would be preferable since it's a webcomic we're going to be doing. :) If you'd like to draw realistic though, go right ahead!

Could we perhaps do a collaboration? Because I am horrid at art things, but am good at writing, and my friend is amazing at drawing but horrid at writing.

@Headache Uhm, i guess? But I'm not sure what you mean by writing. :U This is an art/character design contest. If you find a way to incorporate writing too, by all means. You'd have to split the prize of course, if you'd do a collaboration.
