PRIZES:

UPDATE: In an effort to get more entries, there will now be 2nd and 3rd place prizes, but ONLY if I get at least 10 entrants!

So here's how it will go:

_{FIRST PLACE: A colored and shaded full-body picture in any digital style currently found in my gallery. Multiple characters are negotiable.}

SECOND PLACE: A colored waist up pic with my generic cell shading.

THIRD PLACE: A colored bust in my generic cell shading.

THE CONTEST:

Design markings and a color scheme for a dragon of mine.

I've tried it, it works, and it only took a minute or two.

I'm sorry I couldn't just GIVE you guys the lineart in a file from the get go, but the whole downloading files from DA has NEVER worked for me. Ever. Something about my old as dirt photoshop not supporting the file type or something.

RULES AND GUIDELINES:

~ Please don't EDIT the lineart and give him wings, change his horns, etc. You are only to give him markings and colors. Nothing else. (You are allowed to mess with the lineart to make it easier to with)

~ While he's obviously an aquatic dragon, you don't have to stick with blues and such. Use whatever colors/patterns you want.

~ You don't have to use the lines provided. If you'd rather just redraw him and avoid trying to with my terrible lines, feel free. Just know that doing the extra work probably won't give you an edge in . For those of you who only have MS paint, don't worry about your coloring not looking the best on my photoshop lineart. I'm looking at markings and colors, don't worry about those little white pixels around my lines.

~ Printing out the lineart and coloring it in a traditional media (ex. colored pencils) is fine. Redrawing it traditionally is fine as well.

~ You are not required to use the front view of his head provided with the lines.

~ You are allowed to enter multiple designs. The limit is 3 per person, and all three will be taken into consideration.

~ NOTE ME WITH ENTRIES.

IMPORTANT:

YOU DO NOT OWN THE VERSION OF HIM YOU DESIGNED. What I mean is: if you lose, you cannot keep him as a character. Feel to throw your markings and colors on a DIFFERENT character, but you cannot use mine. This is not an adoptable contest. His particular design belongs to me.

You are not allowed to sell the entry design with my lineart. Again, he does not belong to you. If you want to create a different character and put your entry's colors and markings on it AND THEN sell it, I have no objections... Assuming the character you do try and sell doesn't look like mine.

DEADLINE:

6/30 - end of this month.

May change if people want extensions.

If it's too hard to see, that's a starlight-themed dragon.
The white bar across the body that ends in some ugly pooness is actually symbolic of a shooting star
Which is the dragon's head.
The body pattern changes depending on location and time of day. 8B

And the damn fins are supposed to fade into the colour from the body out and get darker. -____-

going with the water dragon thing, the random designs on the back and on the face are supposed to be like. those water reflection things. like in the bottom corners of this piece done by arthurk87 on deviant art:

Also, at the end of each spine of the fin is like, light up.
Based on an angler fish.

and there are stripes cause. I like striped fishies :U
