Hi Res users,

I know life has been turned upside down for most of us due to COVID19, so I wanted to do something nice to support the community I have come to respect and cherish. I will be giving away two unnamed albino female Drindians to two different users who follow the rules posted below.

To be eligible for the giveaway: You must post on this thread letting other users know how you have been coping with these trying times and leave words of encouragement and support for those who read your post.

The name of every user who posts will be put into a random name generator just once, so duplicate posts will not count towards additional chances. I will contact the two winners through rmail on April 10nth!

I'll also be responding to your posts, so that's something to look for!

It's that simple!

Stay safe everyone and remember you are loved!

@GlitchGirl I am so glad to hear you're doing well! It's amazing what we can do once we decide to work together. I had a co-worker who taught me a bit of bartending! I may have broken a few bottles trying to do a Tom Cruise, but I like to think I'm getting there.

I'm not interested in the Drindians, just here to spread some positivity :)

I'm an essential worker so not much has shifted for me, aside from our work load, my roommate has started to get a little stir crazy from being confined though so I make sure I spend a few hours with him and my sister making sure they're doing okay. We usually talk or watch random videos on Youtube or listen to music and just vibe. Video games have become a great source of amusement for when I'm not working. I finally bought Iceborne, so between that and the release of Doom Eternal I'm plenty amused. My husband and I have also been trying random recipes we find online, crafting, and starting to do a bit of homesteading. It's been, honestly pretty chill. We've just been focusing and bonding with each other, reigniting our passions (one of the best nights I've had was when all four of us were in my roommate's room listening to synthwave and doing our own thing, I got a lot of art done. ^_^ ). I've also been striking up conversation with people online because, hey, we're all (well, most of us) stuck inside and probably just want someone to talk to.

Oh! And one thing I've really found that helped was a complete detachment from social media. No panic, no outside energies, just us living in our own little world and deepening our bond with each other. We're on a regular meditation schedule, too.

If anyone needs someone to talk to please don't be afraid to reach out. I can send links to recipes and craft projects to anyone that wants them, too! Good luck with the raffle. Stay safe, and wash your hands. <3

@aaabbbsss I've always wanted to learn how to sew! My mother tried to teach when I was six, but all I managed to do was stab myself several times, a bummer really. I'm pretty clumsy, so I make an effort to avoid pointy objects when possible. What sewing projects are you working on right now?

@Shinigami Positivity is always welcome and appreciated! It's people like you who deserve respect and acknowledgment right now, I'm terrified to think of where society would be without you. I've also been cooking for my roomies, so far it's been potato curry soup, burgers, and hand made ramen with several toppings. I would love to know what you're cooking! Bonding is great to make use of time, I've actually found the courage to mend a few broken bridges myself which is something I thought I would never do. Perhaps we'll leave confinement with healthier and happier relationships. Here's to hoping! I would also love to see your art. Drawing has never been my strong suit, but that's never stopped me from loving it. As far as albinos go, If your name gets pulled I'll rmail you with other options. I'm sure I have a few I can offer you. On behalf of everyone, thank you!

Aww, this is so sweet <3

I'm honestly so glad I still live with my family, like my heart really goes out to those who are living alone through such a scary time. My mom and I have been getting as much fresh air as we can on walks before we end up in a mandatory quarantine which might be a very real possibility where I live. I've also still been able to see my girlfriend a couple of times a week as we meet up to hike through a forested area near my house or chill out by the river near hers (we walk two metres apart of course). Even though I lean towards being a bit of an introvert it's really helping me to stay calm and positive being around the people I love. I've also been staying inside and drawing, writing, playing video games and watching Netflix. Cuddling and playing with my cats is a great way to relieve some stress as well.

Thanks for hosting this giveaway, it's truly uplifting to read how other people are coping and making the best of their situation. ❤

@Xichen I too am lucky I live with my family. Sometimes I refer to them as roomies because our lives are so busy and thus separate. I've been making more of an effort lately to remedy that. Both are high risk, so I feel relatively nervous going outside too much and the weather here hasn't really allowed for it. Even so, getting fresh air and exercise sounds like a good way to combat quarantine stress! Maybe I'll take a walk for a bit today. It'll be nice to take a break from writing essays and move around. Believe it or not, my cat is totally freaking out not having the house to himself. He's now taken to spending most of his time down in the basement to avoid the remainder of humanity! When he does come up for food he just looks at like it's the end of the world. Sometimes I think he knows something I don't. I truly hope you stay happy and healthy!

I’m doing good, no anxiety here because of  isolation, I’m used to self isolating so it’s nothing new to me. I hope everyone stays healthy and happy, be strong with each other, with your family and friends, both human and furry.

This is very nice of you, thank you Juniper.

I busy myself with projects around the house. We just bought our first home and it still needs a lot of organization and little things need to be patched up. I managed to grab some flowers at Walmart last time we went grocery shopping (2 weeks ago?), and the other day I planted a flower bed by our front door.
I've also been delivering groceries to some friends. One couple is over 60 and they have preexisting conditions. The other just had surgery and can't really drive. When I have to shop for us every couple of weeks, I buy extra and take those over.
As of yesterday, I started sewing face masks for the active duty military security forces. Hubby is AD. They've been ordered to wear face coverings, but have not been provided with any. So I'm trying to sew them as fast as I can. I'm having a hard time finding the supplies I need. Non-woven interfacing and ribbon for ties are especially hard to come by. 100% cotton fabric in solid "uniform" colors is also scarce. I hope the website I order supplies from can restock soon. I'm basically just going to keep sewing as many as I can until I run out of supplies.
There are things many people can do to help. The Red Cross needs blood donations. If you're handy with a sewing machine, your local hospitals, essential store personnel, and military bases may be interested in receiving donations of home made face coverings. Reach out and see how you can help them. Help out elderly friends, relative, and neighbors by making their supply runs for them, making sure to keep physical distance when you're out and when you drop off the groceries. Also practice self-care. Take walks, read good books, do art projects and share uplifting photos with friends and family.

@RainofStar Wow, it sounds like you have your hands full! You gave absolutely excellent advice! Thank you for all you've done to help out the world needs people like you! This pandemic has put us in a position where so many of us need to rely on the kindness and support of others to stay safe and healthy. I've also been grocery shopping for others with preexisting conditions. I've always found that small favors are well received but taking the time to chat over the phone is something they appreciate even more. It's important to remember that we feed our bodies as well as our souls.

If anyone in America is looking to give blood you can visit the official site of the American Red Cross to find out where to donate blood and to learn more about their COVID-19 convalescent plasma program. Stay safe and happy!

I have been stuck at home with my family. But i guess on the bright side, we have managed to communicate with each other more, this was something that we didnt have time for, when we were all busy. So im enjoying my family’s company. I hope that everyone here will stay safe and healthy. We’ll get through this!!
