A small, jet black egg quivered under a bush. It's mother nudged it gently before pulling herself back. Her owner was evil, and she'd never let her egg be in his hands. Until he, hopefully one day, realesed her in the Aquati Forest, she was his. But he didn't have to know, her egg would stay here, to be hopefully found by a kind creatu or human. She closed her eyes tightly, doing everything she could to keep from crying. A single tear fell to the ground before the dreaded time came. Her owner was calling her.
It was time to go, and she'd just have to forget. But how? She shook her head fiercely, her tail quivering. She fell to the ground, now ignoring her owner's furious calls. He'd come for her soon, if she didn't move. So, she dreadfully heaved herself back to her paws. And right before the stepped away from the bush, she had one more thing to say. She sealed her ears from the yelling, and whispered quietly. "Fluffae".

She'd all but forgotten the black egg she'd left in the bush. It had haunted her since, racking her heart with pain. After she'd left the egg, she never forgave herself. Even though she knew it was the best thing to do, rather than to let her child suffer beside her. Though she still missed the unborn kit, she showed no grief. She couldn't, not around her owner. He was cold hearted and evil. He'd become suspicious, and he'd find out. He always did, he alway did.

Meelanya walked through the forests of Relcore. She watched as a bush quivered ever so slightly. She wasn't sure how she noticed it, but she did. Bending down she reached carefully into the bush, laying her hand on a smooth surface. She jerked her hand back, and waited a few moments. Nothing. She parted the bush and was surprised to see a sleek black egg with a pink heart sitting quietly in the bush. Since when were Iluvu eggs on Relcore?
Ignoring the strangeness of the place she found the egg, and wondered how long it had been sitting here. Iluvu's laid eggs around the week of Valentines day. That was how many months ago... six months? Something like that, anyway. She stared in awe at the egg, that had survived this long. She picked it up, and placed it carefully in her backpack. Setting back towards home, she wondered more and more about the little egg.
Her owner has finally given her up, left in the forest to rot, or be found. But neither of those would be happening. She was going back to Relcore, and she would find her egg. Setting of quickly, she reached the edge of the forest. Here the land turned marshy, and in turn into pure water. She didn't know how to swim, but she would. Squishing her way over the short marshland, she reached the water. She looked down at her paws and closed her eyes. Then, she jumped.
She sunk quickly, and she churned her paws helplessly trough the water. She opened her mouth for a breath of air, but sucked in only water. Her cries for help where useless here under the water. She feared the blackness below her, slowly rising towards her. Death was taking it's time, as she choked on only more water. Then, as her sight was wavering, and she felt feint, she watched as the darkness fell away. Then, she closed her eyes.
Waking up on the shore of a small island, she blinked faintly. Her sight was blurry, but she saw him clearly. Opening her eyes, her eyesight clear once more, she blinked. Was this the force the pushed her up, her life? "Hello there" the Murren said in a shrill voice, quite high pitched for a male. She sniffed, heaving herself to her paws. "So your the one who saved me?" she asked indigently. "Not very thankfully are we?" the Murren snorted. "But if you must know, then yes. Why are you here, anyway?" he asked.
"My owner abandoned me, and I'm trying to get back to Relcore" she responded, a bit more gently than before. "Aw, I'm sorry. But if they abandoned you don't yo-" he was cut off by a indigent snort. "He was abusive, sir. I'm going back to find my... my.." she trailed off. She couldn't say it. She shut her eyes tightly. For all she knew, chance are, that egg she held to dear in the short time she was with it, was dead. Anything could have found it. She slumped on the the sand with a sniff.
"oh... Your what..?" he asked, tilting his head as she slumped to the ground. "What's wrong....?" he asked. "Shima. My name is Shima" she whispered. "and.. my egg." she cried ot in anguish. He notice how sad she looked, helpless and alone. Plus, she couldn't even swim. She'd never make it to the portal. Not by herself, anyway. "Then, I'll help you, Shima" he nodded. She looked up at him. "Y-you will?" she asked meekly. "Yes, I will".
She cried out joyfully as she rode on the back of the murren. They sped off through the ocean of Aquati, leaving rippling water behind them. "What's your name?" she asked happily. He smiled, "Koru." he said simply. "Thank you, Koru. Thank you" she said softly. And in the distance the saw the rippling green portal that would take her to Relcore. She cried out, almost falling off the back of Koru.
"Thank you!" she yelled out to Koru. She realized without him, she would have never made it this far. She would have be dead, drowned. He waved one of his lavender fins out to her from the water. She smiled and swished her tail in respond, leaping trough the portal. She silently cried out, from the feeling of the portal. It was a similar feeling to drowning, the feeling she knew all to well. But this time, here in the portal, she could breathe.
Falling out on the other side of the portal, she realized it had only been a second she'd spent inside the portal. Though, it felt like an eternity. Now one of the small side towns of Relcore, she sighed. She was home again. The same town where she'd been hatched. She looked up at the old run down house she'd lived in. But now, sitting across from it, she was free. Her eyes where cold and she stood up stiffly. Then, she took a few slow steps towards the house. Then, she ran.
She ran on silent wings, rushing into the forest. She almost fell forward as she spotted a human. It was there, by the bush she had laid her egg away. And in the human's hands, held closely to her, was a jet black egg with a pink heart. She was too late. But she'd been so close... Just to have it all ripped away, by a few mere minutes off. She stepped slowly through the ferns, staring coldly at the human as it walked away.
Meelanya though she heard something following her, slow, light footsteps crunching the leaves behind her. Whatever, or whoever, it was, was doing a bad job of following her. She turned around quickly, only to be coldy stared at by a small Iluvu. She though of the egg in her backpack. Could this be...? No, no. It couldn't be. Where was the mother when she found the egg? There seemed to be no tracks around the bush. Plus, the egg was cold and shivering. No mother would leave her egg like that.
She made a shooing motion with her hand, staring at the Iluvu. Probably someone's pet. But looking at her ragged un-groomed fur said otherwise. She stared at the Iluvu blankly, not sure what to know. She didn't seem to be planning on moving. And if she kept moving, the Iluvu would only follow her. "What to you want?" she asked tartly, crouching down on her knees.
Shima stared coldly at the human, following her boldly trough the forest. She stepped on every leaf, not trying to hide her presence. As the human turned around, she held her ground. As the human shooed her off, or tried to, she only glared at her more. Furious, though she couldn't speak it. When the human crouched down to ask her a question, she quickly bit her nose and leaped easily onto her back.
Meelanya cried out in pain as the Iluvu snapped forward and bit her nose. She felt a weight on her back, realizing the Iluvu had jumped onto her back. She felt it clawing at her backpack. She jerked up, hoping to throw the Iluvu off. But she stayed put, tearing at the backpack. She heard a rip and yanked her backpack off.
Crawling into the tear she had made in the human's backpack she pulled her egg close to her. Then she felt herself being rushed to the side of the backpack. A angry face peered into the backpack, and glared at Shima holding the egg closely. She's wouldn't let go. This was her egg, her life, and she just wouldn't let go.
Staring down at the Iluvu, crammed into her backpack, she noticed it holding the egg tightly. Maybe this was the egg's mother. But why would she neglect it, only to fight for it back? Whatever reason she had, she needed to get out of her backpack. Yanking the Iluvu harshly out of the backpack, with the egg, she place both softly on the ground. "Fine. Keep it." she said harshly, walking away.
Holding the egg close, she could feel the unborn kit's labored life. Even as an egg, the child was sick. And Shima knew no way of helping it. She sighed, nudging the egg to the human. "I need help!" she said crossly, knowing this would come out as 'I loo vue'. But hopefully the idiotic human got the message. The human stared at her then at the egg. Then back to her, then back to the egg. The human picked up the egg in one hand, and Shima in the other. She hissed indigently, but fought no other way.

Shima pawed her son gently. He hopped onto her back, biting her ear with his tiny teeth. Meelanya sat at a desk off to the side of the room. She watched the two of them play, and smiled gently. Shima looked at Meelanya, and smiled softly back at her, before shaking her son off and nudging his head. She watched as his jaws opened widely, then shut drowsily. Nudging him off to their bed, she curled protectively around her son. And as he fell asleep, and a gentle quite fell over the house, she whispered softly... "Goodnight Fluffae."
