Welcome to The Haiku Game 2.0!
I've decided to recreate my contest, with a different kind of entry process. This is purely because there have been multiple issues with the rules, and it's gotten to the point where it's causing me a lot of stress (especially when I'm argued with). This time, if you want to enter, you need to submit an application via rmail. All of the points currently will stay the same, with users who have one or more points remaining in the game. Anyone with 0 needs to submit this form to me as well if they want to keep playing. That being said, without further ado, here's the form:
Username:
Confirmation of Read Rules: (I strongly advise even those who have been playing correctly have a quick look at the rules again as well, in case something has changed. The confirmation phrase has also changed.)
Example of a Haiku: (one you have written, does not have to be part of the competition but can be; I want to make sure the entrants understand the proper formatting before entering ^^)
Why You Want to Enter:
Again, Rmail this to me if you are wanting to join in, or if you wish to return after being at 0 points. Those with 1 or more points don't have to do this, but they can if they feel the need to.
----------------------------------------------------------------
The game is simple: write a haiku describing your favourite (or least favourite) movie, show, book or video game WITHOUT using the ti
tle or character names. You can do more than one, or all four at once if you want, and you can guess and submit only once a day.
You get one point per haiku, but if you guess wrong, you lose them instead, and the lost points go to the user whose haiku stumped you. The round is complete when someone reaches 10 points, and there are 5 rounds.
Why are there points, you ask? Well, this is because this game has a prize! The grand prize is...
An Aerix Creatu Egg!
(which you can find
tle="" target="">here, if you're paranoid about a game you're paying nothing to play xD)
Keep in mind that this game is free to play, which is why the prize isn't something like a full nest. I can't afford it, heh ^^'
Now for the rules!
1. Keep your haiku res-appropriate, please ~
2. Only one guess post per user, per day, and no retries!
3. Don't worry, there won't be negative points
4. Rmail your haiku and their answers to me, do not post them please, I will have a post for them!
5. You can only guess one user's haiku(s) at once. Choose wisely, as if you attempt to guess multiple haiku and get one wrong, you lose however many points the haiku would have added up to had you gotten them all correct. (Guess for four but get one wrong, you lose four points, but guess only one and get it wrong and you lose one point.) *There may be some exceptions to this rule, depending on the context.*
NOTE: Guessing a safe haiku counts towards your daily guesses.
7. Only guess from the available haiku.
6. If you want to write more than one haiku, you may, though you must only write one per category. (film, show, book or video game)
8. More than one user can guess for the same haiku, but whoever gets it right first wins/loses the point.
9. A haiku is written in the format: first line five syllables, second line seven syllables and third line five again.
10. I will have a list of the correct answers, and will not participate myself.
11. Rmail me if you have any questions or concerns! Only post guesses on the thread please~
12. I reserve the right to add rules at any time, should they be needed.
13. In your first post, add the words "space cat" in teal to let me know you've read the rules! I will not accept guesses or entries that do not have this confirmation!!!
14. You may only submit more haiku once all of yours have been guessed correctly, and only once a day. If you write four at once, you have to wait until they're all answered, but if you choose to write only two, three or one you can write more the next day.
15. A user may only guess one of the safe haiku per batch. These haiku will be released every week or so, but only if there are no user-made haiku to guess.
16. I do reserve the right to reject entry forms for any reason. This could be connected to you being a repeat offender of broken rules, if you sell the egg for profit, or you don't seem to care about the game and only want the egg. If I reject your form, you may edit it and resubmit.
I apologize if the following sounds harsh, but I'm getting very tired of broken rules. I am hosting this game for free, and the least contestants can do is read and abide by them. I've had nearly ten incidents over rmail and on the forum of rules being ignored, and it's getting ridiculous.
*note, breaking the haiku format by accident when submitting will not get you punished, as I don't mind helping you sort it out*
If you do not obey the rules and guidelines, you will be blacklisted. Three broken rules consecutively will result in you having your points revoked and your inability to participate for the rest of the game. If you disobey rules 1, 5, 6 14 or 15 more than once, you will lose all of your points for the round.
