Help Me Design A Text-Based Adventure Game, Win TU!

Okay so I am making this game in Java and it goes kinda like this. You play a person who wakes up in a tiny little cement closet like room. It's all dark and you have no idea how you got there. You give it commands like "look around" and "open the south door" and "pick up the key" and such. It should be pretty neat when I finish it but first I need a place for this person to be.

So I'd like you to design rooms and obstacles and items for the user to explore and navigate as they try to find their way out. Should this be a mansion? A castle? An abandoned asylum? A CIA research facility?

What room should be connected to the first cement-closet room? What should be in that room? What other rooms should there be, what kind of obstacles should the user encounter?

There will be several phases to this contest, and hundreds of suggestions will be taken. If I love your idea, I'll send you some TU! That said, on to phase one!

 

PHASE ONE

Design a setting. Where is our hero waking up? What will they see when they escape the first room? What sort of environment are they in?

Be as elaborate and as detailed as possible. No restrictions. If your idea is M rated, mail it to me. xD Otherwise, you may post it on this forum!

The person is trapped in a room in the center of a maze.  He has no idea how he got there except for a vague recollection of someone talking.  When he manages to find the key behind a loose rock to get out of the room, he finds a note on the other side that says "Find your way out, or die."

As he finds his way through the maze, he faces monsters and finds magical items laying around, like a clockwork bird that he can use three times to give him a direction.

When he finally makes it to the end, he will discover that he was chosen by a group of mages/warriors/rangers in order to take this test, and it had been with his parent's permission that he was taken in the night and put in the room.

An abandoned subway car/Subway
With broken seats, Dead bodies, and slimy mutant rats =0.

climbs through a portal... and goes into the future o.o

Falls into the white house..
Hears a creepy voice that tells him to gather information on the destruction of the United States government.
Comes to find out that Super Intelligant Monster/zombies Captured the government and held them captive, with the white house as their new lab =0

Okay. Three words for you: Piggy. Bank. Apocalypse.

The world has been taken over by piggy banks and you, as the world's last hope, was thrust so vigorously into the cement encasement you wake up in. In fact, so vigorously that you p*censored*ed out and forgot wth you were doing and who you are. It's the year who-gives-a-crap and you need to find a mallet the size of Gelgarin's ego in order to mess up them piggy bank masterminds.

As you're wandering around the LABYRINTH-LIKE streets of Man Hat In Town... >_>; You find yourself AGGRESSIVELY BEATING THE PIGGYS OFF. That's when you go into the bank and find the mother of all piggy banks. The Man Hat In Town money vault. It is BURSTING with money and your little character can't help but see it as a beautiful pinata and want to bust it open like a fat man falling on a box. So you get your character a whackin'.

After you finish off the Man Hat In Town money vault and money is spewing everywhere like Ol' Faithful, you find yourself feeling empty and hollow inside, like you've accomplished nothing. Your character makes his way around the town and gets out of there FINALLY and he sees just on the horizon...

A boat.

On land.

Which is of no use to you so you have to keep on walking until you find a hot Ferrari and drive off in it.

I think it would be nice if other people were stuck inside too and it's the player's job to find them. Or maybe there can be an option to not save anyone, but you'll get a nicer ending if you save more people.

And then they'll be evil security guard things like this fellow:

(This is Gabriel from Last man standing, he's technically the hero but you could aways heavily base an evil version of him off Gabe xD)

And it's sort of this prison made by some secret police government force made to trap people who know something they shouldn't know. And all the prisoners are really scared because they're treated really inhumanely. Or maybe it's even a concentration camp!

A desert.

He wakes up, face down in the sand. He has no idea where he is, or who he is. He shakes the sand off himself and finds a small box beside him. On the top is a note saying (15:00)

He opens the box and finds a few bottles of water (health) a blade (weapon) a vague map and a watch. The time is noon. there is 3 hours until the written time.

Any way, some stuff happens and he gets out of the desert.(On the way, he encounters creatures, like cobras and huge scorpions etc.... That what the blade and water are for.) 

When he gets out he finds a huge building. The door is wide open, so he walks in. Several people in long black cloaks surround him and say " Welcome back Master. Did everything go according to the plan?"

Turns out, the guy was an evil mastermind, and he was planning to dump his arch enemy in the desert, but it backfired and he was the one that was trapped.

Since most people were suggesting settings/environments, phase one will be changed to that part of the contest, and I've decided on either an asylum or a subway/train/underground setting, so 1m will be awarded to Wishies.

1. Our hero is here to find the way out and on the way meet bombs and other complications (such as doors with puzzles on them or coded safes with keys) set by gangsters that want to terminate him. XD

2. Our her doesn't remember the continuing fight that happened between him and the gang. He has received scars on his face and neck but doesn't remember how he got them, nor does he remember that he is supposedly a wanted man between the gang.

So the hero is trapped in that dark closet room, hands searching things feeling only the cold walls, till they feel something soft, its dirt, So they take a few minutes to scrape off the dirt, then light shines, its a window, they can easily break with there fist. When they pull there selves out, they come to the dungeon of a huge musty castle, people in the backround arre talking, and the person sees stairs so they go up them. Turns a door knob, it leads to the outside. Yet its not at all what he remembered, its something different. Filled with dew and musty smog. What has become of the world? Now he has to go on a quest, meet the women who will help him, and go back to the place he remembers.

(Phase one) 

Our hero wakes up in a coffin. Underground. Panicing, you band on the door to try and get out. You try to scratch your way out, and you try to push the top off. No luck. Finally, you give up. You hit you head on the bottom of the coffin in fury and desperation, and you fall through. You hit the floor. Hard. You look around, and your in a steel cell. You notice a carving on the wall. It reads- "If they find you, you're dead." You panic, and you search for any opening to free yourself. You notice a tile on the floor is lose, and you move it. You see a box. Opening it, you find a map, a potion, and a sword. You read the map. It reads- "Smart boy. Get out of here, or the train will run you over." You decide you are in subway of some sort. You panic because you are afraid the train will burst through and kill you. You slam your fist against the wall in fury, and the wall collapses. You are now in a dark tunnel. You look around. You hear the sound of the train coming. You try to go backwards into the room, but it is now longer there. It is a full blown tunnel. You run. As fast as you can. Not knowing where to go. You clutch the potion, map and sword as if your life depends on it. You slice through the darkness with your sword, and it rips through a film. You are now on the train.

Your hero is there because he was contemplating jumping out in front of the subway train. Life had pushed him in to a pile of crap and rolled him around in it and he had enough. As his way of fighting back, he decided to MAKE life STOP. He was SORTA successful. Just as he jumped out in front of the train, it had already slowed down enough that it only gave him a friendly bump and sent him flying a few yards, landing on the train track. The train then came to a halt right above him, protecting him from whatever hell would be unleashed in the subway.

(Phase two)

Our hero appeared in the coffin as such-

An sick, evil man who escaped a mental asylum chose one of the many people in one country in the world to torture with sick games. He chose you. Setting up his plan took seven years, but he succeeded into making the torture game come true. One day, you are at a club and he spikes your drink. You drive drunk, and you crash into a tree. Thinking you're dead your family asks the evil man who 'makes coffins' to make one that's suits you. He makes a rigged coffin, and he rigged the place where he wanted you to be buried to. He opens a subway system right under your burial place. He buried you under a steel room for you to fall into. He carves the words on the wall, puts the case under the tile, rigs the wall to collapse, and puts the entrance to the train right whre the wall collapses. He put's black film everywhere, and it seems like you're in the tunnel. The train makes the noise, and you find yourself on it.

1. Why is our hero here? (in an asylum/subway)

Our hero is a CIA agent or a renowned spy who has the special ability to see what had happened in a particular place just  by looking at the place itself. He was famous for his ability to trace criminals because just by looking at the crime scene he can vividly see the things that just happened there. No one knows about this special ability of him except his college roommate who's whereabouts are still unknown.

A secret organization named as "The Cloak" has been challenging the CIA and wants to steal its intelligence database. It has been the cause for all crimes done throughout the world and having CIA's intelligence database will give them access to top secret information that shall help them rule the world.

After a year of having our hero under the CIA, the chief-general of the CIA discovered that our hero has this special ability. And surprised as he was he also kept this a secret. Because of this the chief general gave our hero top secret missions that would shake the grounds of "The Cloak". "The Cloak" after knowing that our hero has special abilities from an outside informant, wanted to bribe our hero to be part of their team in order to destroy the CIA. They had deviced plans on how to capture the hero and they always almost succeeded.

  Now that "The Cloak" has its perfect mechanism of stealing our hero and turning him into one of them, the CIA decided to lock our hero in a secret place rather than to have him taken by the enemy. Having our hero go against CIA would be  a big problem since he is really skilled and knows a LOT of CIA cl*censored*ified secret info.

 

2. What happened that they don't remember?

In connection to number one, a group of scientists have kept our hero in a frozen chamber and was literally frozen in order to preserve him so that he can be used for the future generation when the need arises and "the Cloak" is gone to steal him.

Together with our hero who was frozen was his spy team members composed of a sexy girl (his soon to be love interest), and a buff guy. All three of them were forcefully given a dose of "memory-be-gone" syrup and was kept frozen. Giving them these would mean erasing their CIA memories and other things related to their spy work.

Because of certain things that happened. After 2years the freezing chamber failed to continue operating and as a result our hero together with his two friends have awaken from their slumber. Dumbfounded and lost they do not know anything.

1. Why is our hero here? (in an asylum/subway)
Because he was a member of the asylum. Society called him crazy and placed him there, though he wasn't. Dun dun dun. But on this particular day the nurses and doctors and junk when INSANE and started overdosing the patients and went all zombiefied. All the hero sees around him is bodies crawling on the floor foaming from the mouth and nurses reaching for him with huge needles. Next this he knows he wakes up in the back of an abandoned subway car. Alone in the underground subway he searches for a way out.. but all the exits are blocked and he has to find his way out with the items that he finds on his journey. >O
2. What happened that they don't remember?
Uhm. Psycho nurses? I think i explained this? :P
