Meet Pepper!



Pepper is a 10 week old catahoula/labrador mix. She and her littermates were rescued from a high-kill shelter by Wright-Way Rescue, centered in Chicago. On April 3, my family and I drove 3 and a half hours to Chicago to adopt her.

After a full afternoon, night, and morning to go over all of the name suggestions I received and deliberate on them all with my family, I have decided on Pepper. Pepper was a name that I had been considering for a dog for a long time. It's kind of funny, because I have three other pets whose names start with a P. Pyro, Pandora and Precious - my geckos and my snake. Shadow's the only only that's out of the loop. xD

Speaking of Shadow, she's doing pretty well with the addition. She's a little unsure and a little stressed, and a little overwhelmed when Pepper is running around and plowing into things and trying to jump on her, but we're correcting that and right now they're both asleep in my room. x3

Anyway, since Pepper was a name that I was considering before any suggestions were made, I can't give anyone the 10 million for naming my dog (even though it was suggested by some, I honestly had already written it down on my list before making the contest.), so instead, I'm going to give 1 million to the first suggester of each name that went down on my semi-finalists list, and 2 million to the three finalists that we chose from, for a total of 3 million to the finalists.

I chose Pepper because it really fits her personality. She jumps around like a kangaroo and does these adorable sneezes. Not to mention her black and white coloring - I thought she looked brown by her picture, but now that I have her, she is definitely black, white, and grey. She might have a little brown in some places. She's so spunky and energetic, and she's learning so fast what she can and cannot chew on. xD I love her to bits.

Congratulations to the winners! Jasmine was very nearly picked, but I really loved Pepper and overrode my brother's vote. xD Pepper and I thank all of you for your help!

Also, as a personal imput, dog names starting with the letter 'R' should be looked into. It gives a very nice, relaxing sound to the dog's name. It could be why the names 'Rex' and 'Rover' are so popular. I adore my own dog's name, Rudi, as it suits his personality. I also find interacting with the dog will help you find a good name, like people, dogs all have different personalities and as you have probably noticed, not everybody suits their names c:
