Sam made his way downstairs as the knock reverberated through the house, but when he reached the staircase, Lucia was already there. He touched the girl lightly on the shoulder. "Thank you dear, I'll take it from here." She nodded, crimson eyes wide, and she scurried back to the kitchen, where she was most at home. Gossamer turned and opened the door widely, giving the demoness his version of a warm smile--more like a disturbing leer, but at least he tried. "Welcome Ariskye, Nibiru demoness, to the Manor d'Infirmatti." He laughed and said, "My humble abode. Please, please, come in. I can take your bags up to your rooms, if you'd like. Then we can eat some dinner, and perhaps discuss what brings you to London? If you have been here long, I am surprised our paths have not yet crossed--I have been touring this city for nearly three months now."

It's fine. And I am sorry this one is extremely late. I was playing Assassin's Creed and got carried away. ^^;

Ariskye cocked a brow at his attempt of a warm smile, but she shrugged it off and handed him her duffle bags, keeping the backpack firmly on her back. There was no way in hell anybody was going to touch what was in the black and crimson canvas bag. In fact, it would have to freeze over first.
At his talk, she smile fangidly. "Then I will tell you when we eat, but I am still covered in nasty human blood and require a shower," she said, feeling the shadow cat rub it's complete right side against her leg. It's tail flicked once before it did the same to Sam.

Sam nodded, looking at his own bloodstained clothes. It hadn't even crossed his mind to bathe and change, but it seemed suitable now that he was playing host. Without meaning to, Gossamer muttered a quick levitation spell and sent the duffle bags up the staircase and to the hallway on the left. He froze for a moment, mentally cursing himself for showing his magic to the demoness--he didn't enjoy it when others knew about his wizarding blood. But he knew it would only cause more trouble to make a big deal out of it, so he forced himself to relax and act as if it was an ordinary thing for him to be sending guest's bags floating up the stairs--which, actually, it was. He forced another smile and said, "Well, I had better show you to your room so you can start freshening up. If you need anything else, do call me. Or ring the little bell on your nightstand, and Lucia should hear it." He didn't wait for a response as he started up the stairs, going up one flight and turning to the left in pursuit of the bags. Sam realized belatedly and he opened the first door and stood in the doorway that this not-waiting-for-your-guest habit was going to have to stop.

Ariskye looked slightly amused when she found out why he had the smell of magic on his scent. Her amusement only grew when he turned and walked off without bothering to wait for her to answer. As a smirk curved her lips, she followed after him.
"Well, now I know why your scent smells of magic. That was not regular telekinesis. Not by a long shot," she said with a slight smile playing at her lips as she exerted her influence over her bags. They slowly lifted off the ground and floated over to rest on the bed inside the room.
Then, her mind brushed against his as she said through mind-speak, "I wonder what other abilities you are not showing... Or sharing."

Sam turned to her, faintly startled. "Keen nose you have there," he muttered, and then said more loudly, "If it worries you and you'd like to know, I also have a bit of wizard blood in me." The confession ground out of him, searing his tongue as if the words were scalding hot. Okay, maybe a bit melodramatic of a deion, but Gossamer Infirmatti rarely admitted to being anything other than a powerful shadow-shifter. He eyed the bags and the room one more time before looking to Ariskye, making himself stop and stand as he addressed her. "If there's anything you need, feel free to call me over. Otherwise, I'll be in my room washing up. Let's meet and the base of the stairs in...let's say forty-five minutes? Then we can eat and I can give you a tour."

Now that piqued her interest. A wizard, huh? She'd never met one. Smelled remnants of their magic, but never actually met one. Or somebody that was half-wizard. It didn't worry her at all, just made her cross her arms and eye him with new interest. The smile on her lips growing wider.
Then, she stepped into the room, fingers running along the edge of the door before she turned back to him. "Sounds good," she said, her voice almost purring.
Oh, it shall be fun to "play" with Sam for the time being. Besides, she needed some distraction from this insane mission her father tasked her with.

Sam nodded, finally turning and fleeing down the vast staircase, the words still sour on his tongue. Had he really just admitted his magical lineage to a near stranger? He was really losing his edge. The smells wafting from the kitchen didn't give him pause (though his belly did let out an enormous rumble) as he hurried towards the back of the mansion, and into a dim hallways where the shadows seemed to gather. They stirred and greeted him as he walked briskly through the unnatural darkness, his loyal guardians, and rushed into his room as he opened the door and then locked it tightly with his magic-proof lock. Not that it would stop the determined from entering, though. Once inside the solace of his room, a sigh escaped Sam's lips. He was exhausted, truly exhausted. His head ached with the effort of holding back his less stable side for so long, and his body ached with the effort of the fight, and walking throughout London that day. Yes, despite popular belief, Gossamer was indeed very mortal, and very out of shape. He walked into the bathroom, not bothering to light it since he liked the dark better anyways, and ran water into the tub. The room filled with the scents of lavender and something a little more sinister, a little more exotic, as he undressed and sent the bloody clothes down the laundry chute. He relaxed as he slipped into the tub, the warm water sluicing over him, and finally gave in to the temptation of relaxing.

Ariskye closed the door as soon as Sam had walked off. She locked the door and turned around to face the room, her crimson eyes closed as she went over what had just happened in the past... Hour, maybe? Hell, she didn't know. Time was starting to blur together.
Opening her eyes, she shrugged off the backpack and set in on a desk in one of the corners. Next came the jacket. But it was all blood stained as well. With a guttural growl, she slipped out the two guns, the two retractable swords, and the extra clips for the two Glocks. When they were all on the desk next to her backpack, she turned off her phone and set it on the desk as well before walking into the bathroom to wash away the blood on the black leather. Once that was gone and hung up to dry, she turned to the shower and started up the water. She left to let the water warm up.
She came back in with one of her duffle bags. The mirror was steaming a bit. Scowling fractionally, she slipped off her boots and socks answer them just outside the bathroom. The door closed behind her and she quickly set what she needed just inside the shower before she stripped and set the blood soaked clothes aside. But, she noticed a small cut on her right side, just above the bone of her hip as she stepped into it.
"Oh sh!t," she breathed as she swiped a finger pad over the drying black ichor. At least it stopped. With a faint sigh, she washed the crimson blood off her skin, as well as the poisonous ichor. With that done, she washed her hair quickly and let the hot water relax her tense muscles as she spun slowly beneath the flowing water.
"Showers, I want to hug whoever invented you," she breathed as she let the water splash over her face.

When Sam finally took himself away from the steamy bliss of the bathtub, he wasn't feeling quite right. The warm water had calmed his senses, but also lowered his guard against the madness. Memories long ago buried flitted across his consciousness, as annoying and unwanted as mosquitoes on a summer picnic. He growled to himself as he redressed into a white silk shirt and black pants, and as he combed his long, ragged hair--far overdue for a cut---into some semblance of a civil look, and flashed himself a cunning smile in the mirror. Even to him, it looked raggedly alarming. "Gossamer," he said to himself, "You really do need to get a grip. The daffodils are in fine voice toni--" he cut himself off, staring at his reflection in true fear. The insanity was brimming in his golden eyes. He only hoped he could fight it off until his guest was in bed. Then he could begin the longer battle. He thought to himself as he slipped out of his room and towards the staircase, But will the war ever be won?

Finished wit her shower and dressed in all black again, Ariskye stood in front of the backpack she had brought with her. It was open and sketch book was open in one of her hands. Her other hand was slowly working on drying her hair as she warmed the skin on her palm. It took a matter of minutes for her to finish drying her hair. Then she set down the book and pulled out a small first aid kit from one of the backpack's smaller pockets.
With the small cut on her hip covered, she nodded once to herself and replaced the kit back into her backpack. "Time to go meet your gracious host," she said, pulling her hair up into a ponytail. But she left some of her bangs to cover the scar on the left side of her face.
She didn't want to answer any questions about it, should Sam happen to ask. It kept her connected to a past she wanted desperately to forget and leave behind. Though, the last time she did that, it came back up and tackled her to the ground.
With a sigh, she exited the room and walked back towards the staircase Sam has suggested they meet after they were all bloodstainedless.

"Do your rooms suit you?" Sam asked as he caught sight of Ariskye. He thought vaguely about saying that she looked nice, but decided against it--the words would only sound creepy coming from him. His head was aching now, the effort of holding back the shadow within his own mind proving to be a very tolling work indeed. He did force a small smile, not enough to look predatory, and offered his arm to the demoness. He hadn't had guests in a long while, so his manners were perhaps a bit archaic. Sam didn't care much, though, as long as he didn't upset Ariskye. He wasn't exactly in the mood for another fight. The smells of roast beef and rosemary drifted from the direction of the kitchen. His mouth watered with hunger and reminded him again of the long day he had. "Shall we?" he added after a moment, gesturing towards the dining room.

Ariskye paused before Sam. Her head cocked to one side as she heard the thoughts behind his words. So, he thought she looked nice? Well, that was extremely awkward and slightly creepy as well. But she did incline her head as she said, "They suit me just fine, thank-you."
One of the corners did make for a fairly good back scratcher.
From the smells coming from the kitchen, Ariskye felt her stomach growl loudly. To her, it sounded much like the roar of her dragon form. Then, she notices his offered arm and gave a little chuckle. Score she flicked him lightly with the flat of her nail.
"I'm not a lady, Sam. I am an American woman whose manners tend to flee at the damnedest times. Plus, being a demon doesn't help much either," she said, offering a crooked grin.

Sam heaved a dramatic sigh. "Oh, thank goodness! I tell you, my last guest was a faerie--and her mannerisms were simply medieval!" He grinned his tom-cat grin to show that he was simply joking around, but his arm dropped to his side. "Let's go on and eat, though," he said, hearing a rumble in his belly to match Ariskye's.
He led the way down a hallway that branched off from beyond the staircase. Pushing open a door, Sam entered a vast dining room with a large table set for two in the middle of it. He frowned, looking at how hollow the room seemed, and muttered a few choice words in Latin. The lush crimson curtains fell over the windows overlooking a nicely-kept garden (he wouldn't admit that it was magic that kept everything so green and neat) and the river. The lights dimmed a bit, and shadows seemed to swarm out from the corners. To anyone else, it may have seemed a more sinister setting than before--but Gossamer was right at home.
"That's better," he said softly.

Ariskye chuckled. Her pointed ears pricking and crimson eyes sparkling. As if to not let herself be outdone by his Tom-cat grin, she grinning fangidly before following Sam towards the dining room, lips covering her teeth, but her grin still remained.
The room seemed a little bare, but when she saw the garden outside the window, she was immediately at the glass; it hint to have her sketchbook and pencil in hand. It looked so pretty and picture-perfect. Her ears drooped slightly before she noticed the lights dimming and the shadows swarming in.
Not that she cared. Malues was a shadowed realm, and this wasn't even close to how dark it as in the Lemurian hell realm.

[Sorry, interwebs has been funky lately. My sister's rabbit enjoys nibbling cables. -_-;]
"I guess our first stop on the tour will be the gardens," Sam observed with a chuckle. "It's quite lovely, as I recall. You're welcome to spend as much time as you please out there." He wasn't too interested in taking the conversation much further for now, though. Little Lucia was bringing out steaming platters of food, and he was seated in an instant. His mouth watered as she set a plate in front of him, with smells of rosemary and meat and baked potatoes whisking towards him in a rush of hot air. He looked to Ariskye, wanting badly to dig in to the meal, but still wanting to play the part of the pretentious host. The demoness looked like she was missing something, but since he couldn't read thoughts, he didn't know what might make her more comfortable. And he didn't exactly want to torture the answer out her using the shadows. Not that he was sure he was capable of it, since he knew next to nothing about the Nibiru and their existence, except for the demoness standing in his dining room.

The smell of food was distracting as Ariskye tilted her head slightly so she could look at the plate of food and the garden at the same time. In the end, her urge to eat won out and she immediately sat down at the other plate. Her pointed ears perked up at the delicious smell and she glanced at Sam.
"So," she started, "you did say you wanted to know more about my kind, yes?"

Sam nodded. "Most definitely." He didn't have time to say any more, though, because he was heaping food onto his plate and beginning to eat. As soon as food touched his tongue, he had to have more. And more. Shadow-shifters were notorious when it came to their appetites. As he got some calories into his system, he felt his head ache subside a bit. After a good few minutes of shoving his face (but in a more polite manner, as always), he leaned back in his chair with only a glass of water. He didn't dare take wine or whiskey with the madness lurking so near. Sam fixed his eyes on Ariskye and waited for her to begin.

Ariskye cocked her head at his habit of shoveling food into his mouth while still managing to look rather polite with it. With a shrug, she helped herself to the food and began eating herself. Once she got a few mouthfuls in, she turned her attention back to Sam.
"I don't know where to begin, so just ask me a question and I'll do my best to answer," she said as she took another bite.
