Sounds good. But I am still a bit braindead for Ayk at the moment... ^^;

How about I just time skip to a bit later? Catherine can still be wandering around in the lower market.
Also, do you think you can be the guards when they come to arrest Ayk? It's kinda hard to arrest your own character... But if he needs to be tortured, I'm all for it~

The sun had lowered throughout the day. The shadows shortened before elongating with the setting of the sun on the western horizon. But, it was just hovering there. A good yard or so above the land. Or so it seemed to Ayk as he lounged on the rooftops of the buildings. His dark brown eyes watched the different colours play with the clouds and the surrounding buildings. He also noticed that the sun was a deep red colour. Unconsciously, something his mother use to say whispered in his ear.
"Red sun a night, sailors' delight. Red sun in morning, sailors' take warning."
Ayk scoffed. His mother was long dead and he didn't often go back to visit her grave. Who knows what other bloodkin might be lurking there with the headstone engraved with his mother's name. But still... Tomorrow would be one helluva hot day. And he might stay inside all day. His black leathers tended to get over heated in any kind of hot day, which caused him to sweat. Ayk didn't want to walk around, sweating, in a city were the guards used scent hounds to help find criminals.
Speaking of which, he had to move his sorry @ss to his safe house. Moving so he was in a crouch on his feet, he slowly made it to the edge of the building and flipped himself over. Landing quietly in the shadows. Nobody had seen him. He was too soft footed. Besides, his blacks blended in. With a smirk to himself, he shifted and started to move through the lower market. This was one of many ways to get to his safe-house. But it was the one he most preferred since he could loose whomever was tailing him in the crowds of people if he so choosed. Despite his tall frame, he could easily hide just about anywhere.

Catherine continued to walk around the lower market while pulling her horse around. She hadn't been down here too much so it was even more interesting to her. The fresh baked pastries and bread could be smelled and it made her mouth water. She tied her horse up outside so she could go into the bakery and buy something. Luckily, she had a few copper coins with her to spare and gained entrance to the bakery with all the delightful smells drifting from it.
Catherine had purchased out a freshly made scone. She didn't plan to go home on an empty stomach and the fresh food from the market was always great. Nibbling on the pastry, she ended up paying too much attention to the shop keepers trying to bring people inside to buy their things. ~ A group of knights were searching the market. No one would get away with murder that easily. Unfortunately for whoever did it, one person did see someone fleeing the premises in a hurry. The knights only got a vague deion but they were pretty sure they could find them. Not many people dress in dark cloaks that intended to hide among people rather than fade into them and walk normally among them.
Finally, one of the knights whistled in a signal that they had seen someone and began to weave through the crowd to get in front of Ayk. The knight probably wouldn't have seen him had he not been coming by this area. The other knights quickly followed and eventually surrounded him in a tight but spacious circle. Now all they had to do was wait for him to come close to the edge of it and arrest him.

The masses of people helped carry Ayk towards his destination. Even though he was slightly taller than everybody else, he had his hood down so his odd, light blonde hair shown slightly in the evening sun. His dark brown eyes were fixed in front of him and his body shifted on its own as he wound through the throngs of people. His hands were at his sides and his fingers twitched when he saw movement out of the norm. He also stopped as his fingers wrapped around the hilt of one of his daggers.
Glancing around, he saw that the movement stopped. A scowl twisted his lips as his eyes narrowed. Pull yourself together Ayk, he scolded himself. But still, wanting to be a little safe rather than sorry, he waited for a few seconds before heading off again. As he did, he let his hand slip form the hilt of the dagger and back to his side. Paranoia was not one thing he was used to. He hated this feeling to being watched. Of being like prey. Somebody was watching him and he wanted to shake that feeling so desperately. He increased his the length of his stride until he was -- unknowingly -- in the center of the loose circle the city knights made.

Slowly the townsfolk began to leave the circle of knights, and as they did this the knights closed in even tighter than before. The knights found it quite easy to get someone surrounded with a little patience and a practical plan. They eventually had the man completely surrounded.
When they had Ayk completely surrounded, the knight with the highest rank stepping forward to speak. He said," You sir, are under arrest to be tried by the highest authority, King Victor himself. Give up your weapons and comply." ~ Catherine gasped when she saw the guards. She leaped atop her horse and headed in a rush to the castle. Catherine intended to be there before any of the knights showed because she would certainly be called to view over any sort of trial with her father. He was probably already aware of her disappearance regardless and she assumed a lecture would be in order as soon as she returned.
After passing every obstacle that happened to come her way, she finally made it to the caslte grounds. Catherine went through the back entrance to the vast garden. She could easily be in there for that long period of time she was gone to town. As soon as she entered the corridors, her advisers had explained all about the crime that'd happen. No one even noticed her disappearance at all.

"You sir, are under arrest to be tried by the highest authority, King Victor himself. Give up your weapons and comply."
Ayk stopped when the knight came forward and spoke. His light blonde hair fell in front of his dark brown eyes as he glanced around him. Different scenarios played around in his head before changing to a constant voice saying that he should've been careful. Should've made sure that nobody had been watching him kill that fat merchant. His nose wrinkled with disdain for his lack of attentiveness.
"You worthless gutter rat. Why did I train you in assassinry when you can't even learn the first rule. Stay hidden. Don't be caught entering or leaving the scene of your kill."
His former master's voice echoed in his skull. Anger at that man's voice rose in him. Though he made it perfectly clear it didn't show in his face. Mayhaps he could tell the King that he had been paid. He wasn't afraid of death, though. He just wasn't ready to meet his maker. Tilting his head to one side slightly, he nodded.
"A'it," he said, pulling out both his daggers in the bl ink of an eye. He held them by the blades, hilts up as he held up his hands. The knight could take them. The thief knew he wasn't gonna do any funny business.

{{True. Do you mind taking the kings role since I have the knights covered?}}
The knights took possession of Ayk's weapons and bound his hands behind his back. They all began to venture back up to the castle. They'd taken the trip here on foot because it only took a short time. The only down side was that the trail was very narrow and the trees and plants lining the road were very dense. ~ Catherine hurried to her quarters to have some tea and dress accordingly. She needed to look appropriate before going to see her father. Catherine despised the corsets and how tight they made them. It was a pain but that was one of the many things all women in royalty had to deal with. She sighed and then left to see if they knights had made it back yet.

[[ I don't mind at all~
I'll introduce the King in my next post. ]]
Ayk growled slightly when he felt his hands being forced behind his back and getting tied together with a leather thong. He tilted his head down and curled his upper lip into a snarl. Co-operate with the f-cking guards and look were it got'cha, huh, he told himself struggling against the bonds as they lead him up to the castle. It was a relatively short walk regardless, but to the thief, it was lifetimes.
F-cking guards. F-cking witness.
This urge to kill rose inside him. But he knew it would only get him killed.
Save if for later, he growled to himself.

{{Alright, I apologize for the short post. I'm a little brain dead... O.O}} Catherine sat calmly on her balcony while waiting for anything at all to happen. It was not long before she'd seen the knights bring in the man they thought responsible for the merchants death. It wasn't too long before Catherine slid away from her balcony. Sitting on the edge of her bed, she pondered random thought before she would soon be called down.
One of the castle servants interrupted her train of thought to call her down to one of the main rooms in the castle. Catherine sighed and stood up. She began making her way down the long corridors before making a few turns and finding her way into the large room.

There was a man in the center of the large room. He wore robes and furs of his station while a golden crown lit upon his brow. The silvery-white of his hair glinted the golden light reflected of the crown. He was talking to one of his advisers about this man in black they were bringing in since he had killed one of the King's most successful merchant... Even if the man was a bit... Overweight.
What was that man's name again?
A-something?
Ah! God only knows. Waving away his adviser, he turned to catch his daughter enter the room. All pretty. A grin tugged at his lips and the wrinkles around his eyes deepened as they softened until the light brown orbs seemed to glow with warmth.
"Catherine," he said, "shall we go see who are mysterious killer is?"
