A lone Pokemon wandered about outside of Scarlet's den, walking with an obvious limp as its red eyes' eyelids drooped. It was panting, obviously tired, and hurt as well. It looked to be no older than a very young Eevee, but was slightly large for his age. But he'd been through so much in his short life that he's mentally outgrown his small body.

It flicked its white/black-tipped blue tail once before simply falling over, unable to walk another step, chest heaving with its heavy pants.

((I say it because Scarlet and the others won't be able to tell the gender from inside. xD))

Scarlet stepped out of her den, having heard a thud. "Oh dear" she said softly, gathering the strange pokemon in her paws. She rushed him inside to the sofa and wrapped a few wounds. She was sitting next to the couch now, at eye level with him. "Please wake up dearest" she pleaded softly, hoping she didn't find him too late.

((D: I'm writing badly today)) 

The strange Pokemon groaned lightly, his ears pinning back as he slowly opened his bright red eyes, visions blurred at first. Slowly, however, the fog cleared until he could clearly see Scarlet's face. He blinked once, then attempted to sit up, finding himself unable to do so for the moment.

"Veeee..." was all he said, showing that he was either very young, or had just...never learned to speak.

((Mmhmm. e.o))

Scarlet stood back. "Are you an eevee?" she said, mostly to herself. "Can you speak little one?" she asked, her tails twitching with curiosity.

"Momma! He looks funny!" squealed Marke rudely.

"Hush Marke, go to your room and play with Celesta" Scarlet ordered. 

The newly named Zenneth lifted his head to stare at Scarlet with something like wonder, curious as to why she seemed to care so much about a Pokemon she didn't even know. Maybe...she could teach him to talk...?

He nodded when she asked him about the name, a little smile pulling at the sides of his muzzle.

Zenneth blinked, scarlet gaze focused on the way that Scarlet moved her mouth when she spoke. He certainly wasn't stupid; in fact, he was extremely intelligent. Those humans jsut had never bothered to let him learn to speak.

"Ffff....oooo....d...." he said slowly, mouthing the letters carefully. "Fffooooddd....Food..." He repeated this a few more times until he knew what he was saying, then looked up at Scarlet to see if he was right, tail twitching lightly.

Zenneth focused again on the way Scarlet's mouth moved. He slowly began to mimic her again, piecing te sentence together word by word as he had with 'food', until he could understand what it was he was saying.

"Could I have some food...?" he asked, looking up at her, ears flicking forward.

((HOw soon should Zenneth evolve, seeing as he has some seriously screwed up DNA?))

((It could be when he first battles since he's so advanced? He could battle with Marke, Scarlet's son))

"Yes" Scarlet said, taking a berry out of the basket and holding it out to him cheerily. 

((Okayyyy~))

Zenneth reached out to take the berry in his mouth, setting it on the couch before carefully biting into it. Yeah, he was hungry, but he knew not to be a messy eater. The Lab had been spotless. Always had to be spotless.

WHen Scarlet started speaking again, Zenneth lifted his head to watch her mouth, licking away the berry juices from his muzzle. Again, he slowly shaped the words, practicing each one until he understood, then pieced them into a sentence, the previous berry gone, settling in his belly.
