Vin leaned against on of the walls, looking everywhere but at Rain. After a few minutes, Vin closed his eyes, only to jump a foot in the air because the toaster went off. He scuttled over to the toaster before Rain could take the bread out of it. He pulled it out, winced at the fact that it was very hot, and dropped it on an awaiting plate.
"Oh yeah. How's your fingers? Did you burn them?" He asked , nodding to the fail attempt at pizza.

Rain looked rather surprised to see Vin suddenly in front of him again, and was about to ask why before he realized he was just taking the toast out. ''... Hm? Oh, yeah...'' He held his hand up, examining it closely. Looked like it was time to torment Vin again. ''... You know, they'd probably feel better faster if you kissed 'em better... You know, since they've got a boo-boo?''
He laughed, poking the burnt fingers with his other hand, then flinching when, surprise surprise, it hurt. The skin was slightly red, the only evidence to the fact there was anything wrong with them at all.
Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.

Vin paused in the action of bringing the toast to his face. He nibbled on the toast, thinking. He swallowed and looked up at Rain. "Are you being serious, or are you joking? Sometimes it's very difficult to tell." He mumbled, looking back down at the toast and taking another bite out of it.

''Oh boy, I'm always being serious. I never joke.'' He appeared to be, and sounded, perfectly serious. Picking up a piece of toast as well, he took a small bite out of it, then decided he'd eaten enough. He wasn't particularly hungry, after all, so placed the toast down on the sideboard, resuming his examination of his hand.

Vin finished his slice of toast, frowning when Rain put his piece of toast back down. Was that really all he was going to eat? Vin licked the crumbs off his fingers and wipped the spit off on the hem of his shirt. Vin took Rain's hand into his own and looked at the finger pads. "Which ones hurt?" He asked. Originally, Vin wasn't going to kiss the 'boo-boos', but if Rain really wanted him to...

Rain was surprised he had apparently made Vin go along with things so easily, and wiggled his fingers. ''... All of them.'' He spoke solemnly, as if unsure how he had managed to burn all of his fingers. ''I think I'm not very good at letting go of things. Maybe that's why they all got burnt.'' He phrased it as though he was referring to the rock, but it was clear he meant something else as well.

Vin smiled and looked at Rain. "Maybe it's better not to let things go, even if you end up suffering because of it." He said as he turned his attention back to the other's fingers. Slowly, he pecked Rain's pinky, trying not to press against it to hard. Vin was pretty sure that kisses were supposed to make things better, not make them hurt worse. Vin glanced at Rain's face again before kissing his other fingers. When he was done, Vin backed off a bit.

Rain held his hand up and examined it again, as though there was a visible difference. ''Mm, much better. Thanks.'' He smiled brightly, before he got that far-away look in his eyes that meant he was planning something. Usually something bad for Vin. In this case, something Rain would enjoy but Vin... Might not.
''So, you still hungry, or...?'' He trailed off, looking at Vin inquisitively.

Vin frowned at the look and let go of Rain's hand finally. He picked up his friend's discarded toast and started nibbling on it. "It depends on if you're going to eat whatever it is, or if you're just going to force food onto me." To tell the truth, Vin was still hungry, but he wasn't stupid, and simply agreeing to Rain without any questions is a very stupid thing to do.
Vin quickly finished eating the toast, and he licked his fingers. He leaned against the counter top and looked at Rain, trying to predict what he was thinking.

''Well, at least you look finished now...'' He leaned against the counter too, glancing side ways at his friend. Hey, y'never know. Vin might actually enjoy being hugged for a few hours or so. But why did it have to be so awkward? Because it was funnier to watch, that was why. He could tell Vin had no idea what was going on. Looking over his shoulder in the opposite direction, suddenly, and without warning, he turned again and wrapped his arms around his friend, holding him tightly with their faces just barely an inch apart. Rain was grinning brightly, looking straight into Vin's eyes.
''Alright then, Vin, what're you gonna do now?'' Depending on his friend's reaction, Rain would do one of two things: he would either give him a massive bear hug, or, just to make sure he got his bear hug, he would kiss him. Boy, this was proving to be fun.

Vin blinked and tried not to smile. Two hugs in one day? Was it his birthday or something? Maybe the make-up made him less touchy-feely, and since it had all been washed off, Rain felt the need for hugs. Or something like that.
"Um. Nothing?" Vin laughed. "What exactly do you want me to do?" He wrapped his arms around Rain lazily, still grinning at the other. He really didn't understand what Rain was was getting at, but he figured that he'd figure out sooner or later.

Rain grinned brightly. Vin didn't seem to mind the hugs; if anything, he seemed to enjoy them. He sighed contentedly and pulled the other in closer, holding him tightly. ''Nothing. I expect you to do nothing at all.'' He was happy to just stand there, holding onto Vin. And it was at that precise moment that he realized he never, ever wanted to let go. Vin was right, after all; you should always hold on tight, with everything you had.

Vin closed his eyes and rested his forehead against Rain's. "Is that a good or bad thing?" He murmured, trying not to talk loudly since they were so close together. His fingers fiddled with the back of Rain's shirt before drawing circles on the fabric. Vin wondered if friends normally hugged like this. He knew he certainly didn't with his other friends. Maybe it was something only people did if they were really close.

Rain thought about the question for a few moments before deciding that yes, it was indeed a good thing. ''It's a good thing. Trust me, it's a good thing.'' His eyes stared unblinkingly into Vin's; suddenly it seemed important to remember every last detail, every fleck of colour in the other's eyes. Not that he bothered to consider how strange it might seem, just staring at him like that.

Vin noticed that Rain was staring at him, but then again, where else could the other look? "Trust you? The last time I tried to trust you, you ended up falling off a cliff." Vin laughed quietly. He shifted a bit, whatever he was leaning on was pressing into his back and was uncomfortable.

He closed his eyes, satisfied he'd remember Vin's eyes perfectly, and leaned in that last inch or two that seperated them, head slightly tilted, until their lips met. He kissed the other softly, before leaning back again, still smiling. He got the feeling Vin was going to be pretty ticked.

Vin's eyes widened and he relaxed his arms. He didn't know how to react to what was going on. Vin wasn't exactly kissed by his best (and just about only) friend every day. All he could think of clearly was that he didn't know if he liked Rain like that. Vin pushed away from Rain and turned to walk out of the kitchen. He made it to the front door an a dazed jog, yanked to door open and stumbled out. Vin had gotten all the way to the road before he realized it was raining pretty hard.
Vin turned oh his heels and trudged back to Rain's house. The part of his brain that was still functioning told him that regardless of his confusion, it was better to be with someone who just kissed you than out in the rain. Vin made sure to pull the door close behind him when he re-entered the house.

Rain stood rather dumbfounded, slightly surprised by the reaction he'd received. He had expected Vin to be ticked, sure, but... He hadn't expected him to just run away like that. He'd just walked away, and hadn't even looked back... Maybe he shouldn't have done that. He heard the door close again, and guessed Vin had come back once he realized how heavily it was raining. Vin never did like the rain.
Walking slowly out of the kitchen and into the hallway, he composed himself, making sure Vin wouldn't know just how unsure of himself he was right then. Did being liked by him really upset Vin that much? Enough that he'd run away like that? Well, no matter. If he didn't want Rain to think of him like that, then he wouldn't. At least... He wouldn't show it.
''Still raining out, is it?'' He spoke in an amused tone, no hint of the hurt he felt.

Vin walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. He had already kicked off his shoes and socks sometime during the night before, so he didn't have to worry when he put his feet onto the couch. Vin ran a hand through his hair once, and was about to do it a second time before realizing exactly how wet he was.
Vin pulled his legs up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them. He tried not to think about how his arms had been around Rain only a few minutes ago. His trying failed, and Vin's thoughts immediately jumped to The Kiss (it needed to be in caps), which made him blush.
Vin looked up at Rain, still blushing heavily, and nodded. He patted the seat beside him, indicating that he wanted Rain to sit next to him.

Rain was surprised that Vin actually wanted to sit next to him, but it made him hopeful that perhaps, even if thinking of him in that way made Vin want to run away, they could still be friends. He'd be happy if he could have just that. Maybe it was selfish, but he wanted to be able to see Vin still, to be able to talk to him. He had worried for a moment there that that would not be the case.
Walking over to the couch, he sat down awkwardly next to the other, and bit his lip for a moment, thinking. Maybe if he apologised it would make things better quickly. But why should he apologise? Because if he didn't, Vin might not forgive him, that was why.
''I, uh... I'm sorry about uhm.. Before.'' It was disturbing and strange, being the awkward one between them, and he averted his eyes from hisfriend's, staring instead at what now appeared to be a highly interesting floor. He remembered everything about Vin's eyes, anyway.
