Vin sort of leaned against Rain, but it was pretty awkward. "Don't apologize; you really have no reason to." Vin sighed and looked up at Rain. "I probably shouldn't have ran away from you..." He murmured. He dropped his feet back onto the ground and sat up.

Rain said nothing at first, breath catching in his chest as Vin leaned against him. He said he shouldn't have run away, but the fact that running away from him appeared to be his natural reaction... It wasn't good. Rain didn't want for the other to instinctively try to get away.
''No, I should. I'm sorry, I guess I just... I don't know.'' He trailed off, still not looking at his friend even after he had sat up. ''I guess I just like you a lot.'' A lame excuse, but hey. What other excuse did he have? ''But... If it makes you feel awkward or uncomfortable... Can we just pretend it never happened?''
Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.

Vin had been looking down when Rain started talking. He was so confused, and by the sound of it, so was Rain. Vin had never realized that feelings could make things so complicated. Vin's head snapped up when Rain offered for them to just forget everything. "No! What?" He said immediately without thinking.
Vin blushed as he tried to explain himself. "I, um, well, uh..." He turned so he was sort of facing Rain. "I-I don't know. I'm not pissed or upset at you, just confused. I don't know what to think right now, but I-I don't believe that pretending you didn't kiss me will help."

Rain was surprised at the sudden outburst, and turned his head slightly to look at him for the first time. He quickly looked back to the floor, nodding his head. He looked like a child, confused and unsure of what to do. This was bad. If Vin didn't want to go back to the way things were, that meant one of two things: the most likely course of action being that they would no longer be friends, with the other, highly unlikely chance that he might grow to feel something... more for him.
He didn't say anything, trying not to bother his friend while he thought things over. He was biting his lip again, and actually bit down hard enough to cause it to bleed. It was good. Rain found blood calming, even if the taste of it was filling his mouth.
Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.

Vin watched Rain look away from him. He noticed that the other hadn't said anything. Vin leaned forward and hugged Rain, shifting closer to his friend(?). "How do you know you like me?" Vin mumbled into Rain's ear. In the back of his mind, he had been wondering if Rain really liked him, or it was just hormones talking. Vin had heard that they could make you do some strange things and feel emotions you didn't really have. He immediately regretted thinking that. He had no reason not to believe that whatever Rain was feeling was real.

Rain wasn't sure why Vin was hugging him again. Maybe he actually did still like him, despite everything. Pausing for a moment to contemplate the question, he looked back to his friend, deciding something like this was too important not to be said to the other's face. ''Well... There are a lot of reasons. Some more important than others.'' He wasn't quite sure where to begin, but decided he had better start somewhere.
''You obviously dislike rain, yet you come out with me whenever I ask. You put up with that pitiful excuse for a man living in your home, and you rarely say a word about him. You care so much about those plants of yours...'' He shook his head, smiling softly. ''And you're beautiful. Everything about you is perfect, Vin. I just wish you knew just how perfect.''

Vin's eyes widened; he really hadn't expected Rain to have thought so much about it. He wished that he was as sure of his feelings as Rain was. He still had no idea if he liked Rain like that, but Vin told himself he would make their strange relationship work somehow.
Vin let go of Rain and put his legs under him so he was sitting on them and slightly taller than Rain. Hesitantly, Vin reached out with one hand and touched Rain's chin and pulled softly, making Rain look at him. His hand was shaking when he dropped it onto his friend's shoulder. Vin leaned in and kissed Rain.

Rain was surprised when Vin let go of him, and even more so when he had his head turned by the other. Nothing could compare to the utter shock of being kissed by the person who had thought considered such an act with disgust. Happy as the thought that Vin might feel for him in that way- more than happy, truly elated- he couldn't help but wonder if Vin was just doing this for him.
Pulling back unwillingly, Rain spoke softly, quietly. ''You don't have to do this, Vin... Not if you don't want to.'' Much as he loved the feeling of having Vin's lips against his own, he didn't want for his friend to feel pushed into something.

He opened his eyes in confusion when Rain pulled back and listened to what he had to say. Vin's lips twitched upward for a fraction of a millisecond. "Are you rejecting me, Rain?" He tried to keep the laughter out of his voice, but he could feel himself smirking. The fact that Rain didn't want him to feel forced made Vin feel warm and tingly inside.

''Huh? No, of course not, I would never...'' Realizing his friend was only messing with him when he saw the smirk, he sighed softly and gave a small chuckle in response. ''Jeeze, dude, don't scare me like that. I was worried for a minute there.'' He didn't like this new way between them; normally he was the one doing the tormenting.

Vin grinned at his friend(?) and lightly punched him in the arm playfully. "I was just messing with you." Vin thought that Rain had really looked worried there for a second, which was sort of funny. "So....Now what?" Vin asked. He wasn't really referring to their relationship, but more of in general, as in what where they going to do now.

Rain pondered over what they could do, not exactly amused by the situation. ''Uhm... Dunno. We could go paint my wall, if you like.'' Rain had been working on paintings on all four of his walls, his favourite one being a bridge with rain pounding down and a lone silhouette, impossible to discern as to who or what it was, standing directly in the center. He had several other images, both finished and unfinished, all around the room.

Vin was well aware that he was a horrible painter. He could still remember when he had to take art class a few years ago... God that was horrible. How he managed to pass the class was beyond him. Vin nodded anyway and got up. "Sure; why not?"

Glad that things seemed to be less... awkward for now, for him in the least, Rain stood up quickly and headed to the stairs, opening the door at the end of the upstairs hallway. His room wasn't large, but nor was it small; it was fairly average in size, with blank white walls that served as his canvas whenever the mood struck him.

Vin followed Rain up the stairs and down the hallway at a slower pace than the other. When he entered Rain's room, Vin looked around at the room. It wasn't like he had never been inside Rain's room before, it's just that he usually forgot what it looked like. "So what do you want to paint?" Vin asked, looking at one of the blank walls.

Vin watched Rain pick up some things. "Do you really have to ask?" Vin chuckled and moved around the room to pick up a brown and green tube of paint. "I'd like to paint trees." Vin looked at the paint's label. He had heard of it before, but he couldn't remember where. Maybe his mom had mentioned it before; she painted a lot. A thought entered Vin's head and he looked back up at Rain. "Of course, if you don't want a tree in your room, we could always do something else."

''No, it's grand. I'd love to have a tree in my room.'' He grinned, not mentioning why this was so. Trees reminded him of Vin, for obvious reasons; something that reminded him of his friend was good to have. ''Anywho, shall we get started?'' Switching his tubes for a few different green shades, coupled with browns and blacks, he moved to an empty patch on the wall and began to paint.
The lightest of movements in his wrists and in his fingers began the image; he kept his arm in general, for the most part, stationary. The skeleton of the tree complete, soft, forest green began the basis for the foliage; layers of emerald and Dartmouth green added definition.
Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.

Vin watched Rain painting for a bit before dipping down and picked up a brush. He stood beside Rain, but not too close to him to get in his friend's way. Vin got some of the brown paint on his brush and attempted to paint a tree trunk. It ended up being tilted, but that was okay because not all trees as perfectly straight. He started to work on branches, trying to not make them look too awkward. Vin turned his head to see what Rain was doing.

Rain had, by this point, just about finished his tree and was contemplating adding another behind it, a little out of focus. Then he noticed Vin looking at him, and decided to have some fun instead, appearing to be perfectly preoccupied with adding 'finishing touches'. All he needed was for Vin to look away for a few moments, and his friend's hair would no longer be such a pleasant light brown.
Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.
