[ Dude check this out: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_meian6GblO1qbyxr0o1_400.gif dhdghdgfhd /nightmares ]
Calyx's electric blue gaze slowly traveled up the high school building with a look of obvious unease, her hands beginning to tremble softly. Though this wasn't the first time she had arrived at this hell hole, each day she could swear she felt more nervous. It didn't matter how many times she went. She would never get used to the horrible treatment she would get from her classmates, never would she get used to the depressing teachers or even the disgusting cafeteria food they served each day. Like every other time when she had time to herself, the all too familiar question would rise up; Why even bother going to school? It all seemed so easy. She didn't have to endure this hell. All she had to do was walk the other way, dump her book bag into the bushes and continue her day doing whatever she had planned to do. She had no one to tell her not to, and she was old enough to be viewed as an adult. Nothing was stopping her. But the same little thing made her think twice. She loved her mother, even with just the brief time she had with her. Karen would always remind her how important a good education was. To the point where it had been branded into her head. [ Along with eating her greens and to not fart in public. ] This was the only reason she had choose to keep going. She only had a few years left anyway. Calyx refused to be some drop-out working at a McDonalds. With a shaky sigh, Calyx reluctantly headed inside the building just as the bell rang. Being late didn't matter to her. None of the teachers did anything about it, anyway. And what would they do? Give her detention? Easy, she'd just read a book or sleep through it. They had gotten used to her being late, so she doubted they cared anymore. They certainly didn't act any different. Glancing around nervously to make sure no one was in the hallway, she quickly made it over to her locker. Everyone was in class, she told herself. But she couldn't get rid of the sinking feeling in her gut. She quickly pulled out what books she needed for her next class and stuffed the rest that she didn't need back in. Then she stiffened, her eyes growing a bit wide. Footsteps. Someone was coming. Before she could scurry off into her classroom, she heard his voice. "Goin' to class~?" Someone purred. She didn't have to look up to know who it was. She could just see him there, leaning against the lockers with that smug grin of his. Calyx simply fell silent and stared hard at the ground, waiting for what was next. It had been a nice, peaceful week without being harassed by Jeff and his buddies. She knew it wouldn't last long. And she was right. In the end, just like any day, Calyx was left on the floor with her back against the wall, bruised and bloodied. She had been prepared though, and had come with gauze and band-aids. Her lip was busted with blood drizzling down her chin, and her cheek was bruised, not to mention all the other bruises and had acquired on her arms and back from the beating. She had a good half-hour before the bell rang and everyone switched classes. That gave her just enough time to clean up herself and the mess they had made. Her papers and books were torn and shredded. After a moment, she got up on her knees with a wince and began to pile it all up.

Markus knew he was late to school. He had woken up late and that had messed up his start. The family he was living with as a "foreign exchange student" had given him an earful about being late before the mother shoved a plate of food in his face and told him he had to finish eating all of it before he went off to school. The whole thing confused the ancient Greek, but he was soon sitting at the table, inhaling all of it. When he was done, he set the plate in the sink and snatched up his leather jacket. Once the leather was on and once the fingerless black gloves were on, he slipped on an equally black backpack with a crescent moon decorating it.
He exited the house, going up to his sleek, black chopper before straddling the leather seating and pulled on the helmet. The engine purred to life as he started it. He kicked off and shot down the road. He made it just in time to hear one of the bells ring around the campus. He figured that meant it was the start of first period. Underneath the protective helmet, he felt his teeth bite into his lip. He quickly parked it in an open spot in the student lot. Once the bike was off and the kickstand down, Markus stepped off and pulled his helmet off as he walked towards the front of the school and towards the office once he stepped through the doors.
"Your late," a female voice greeted him as he stepped into the room.
His head dipped down and he muttered a faint "Sorry," before he collected the papers he needed. His schedule, a map of the school, some extra papers for his "guardians" to sign, and a paper his teachers needed to sign. He waited and listened as she showed him the best routes on the map to get to the different places.
"You've got a good thirty minutes before the end of first period. I suggested heading to your locker first before stopping by your first class for the signature and to get the supplies you've missed," the woman suggested, her tone now kinder than it had been when he came in.
Markus nodded, understanding a good three-quarters of it all. Gathering all the papers in one hand, and re-positioning his helmet under one arm, he exited the office. It didn't take long to find his locker. Once the combination was in and the metal door open, he set his helmet on the top shelf. The Greek figured he didn't need to place anything else inside before he closed it and started to head to his first period.
But the route he took lead him past a girl attempting to clean up her mess of spilled books and papers. Though, when he stalked past her, he froze; smelling fresh blood mingling with her unique scent. Markus turned around as he folded the papers in his hand and slid them into his back pocket before kneeling down to help the female. [Calyx]

In her daze to clean up her mess, Calyx hadn't noticed Markus until he had knelt down right across from her. On instinct she flinched away, her bruised fingers beginning to tremble again. She stiffened and paused. Only when she realized that he was picking up her papers did she finally unfreeze and raise her head up slightly to look at him. After a moment she had realized she had been staring and quickly returned her attention to her mess, nibbling one of the studs in her lip nervously. She winced when her lip began to sting. She had forgotten about her injuries. Swallowing hard, she quickly licked off the blood from her lip and sorted her papers into a neat pile. Well, as neat as you could get. None of her papers or books were salvageable; Jeff had made sure of that. She would just have to copy off someone's notes later on, and pay for the books that he had ruined. Due to that, she would be late on her apartment rent. The idea made her inwardly groan. Just great. Again, she found herself watching him out of the corners of her vision. No one had bothered to help her since she had enrolled in this school. Was he crazy? She couldn't recognize him, either. A new student, perhaps? As soon as her eyes had cleared from reflex tears, she noticed something odd about his appearance. His hair was white. Dyed? She caught a flash of his eyes and found herself memorized by them. Then it clicked; this man was an albino. Again, she found herself staring. She scowled to herself and quickly tore her gaze away from him. He'd think she was creepy if she continued. She guessed she should thank him, or offer some sort of greeting, though she found none. She was comfortable with the silence. Then again, she wasn't much of a talker in the first place. When she tried to say something, her throat clenched up and went dry. It was as if her body knew she would embarrass herself with that annoying stutter. He'd probably make fun of her about it. So the best thing to do, she reasoned, was to stay quiet. Then she'd leave and they would never have anything to do with each other again. She grabbed her pile of papers and crawled a few steps to a nearby trashcan, then reached up and dropped them in. She stopped to cringe in pain, she guessed one of her ribs were bruised. Shrugging it off, she returned to her bookbag and leaned forward to shut her locker.

Markus stayed quiet as he helped the girl. He had paused slightly when he saw her flinch away from him in the beginning. It seemed she wasn't used to people helping her. That saddened him a little bit. Who had hurt her to make her think that people are all abusive? But he still helped with the papers, pulling them into a pile before making them all neat as he could make it. Most of the pages in his pile seemed to be part of a book, judging by the numbers on the bottom of the paper.
He felt her eyes on him throughout. Not that he minded. He was strange through genetic mutation and through being a vampire. But she didn't know about the latter, she only knew the former judging by the spark of realization he saw in her eyes.
Staying crouched as he watched her crawl towards a nearby trashcan. His crimson eyes flickered to the pile of miscellaneous pages in his own white digits. After a moment of consideration, he handed her whatever he held. With his free hand, he let the fingers run through his silver hair so the strands only covered one crimson eye. But, both orbs were filled with faint concern since he had seen her cringe of pain.

Calyx hesitated once he held the papers out, her eyes trained on his hand. Slowly, she reached out and took them, careful not to let her fingers brush against his. She hated touch of any kind, and she took precaution to avoid skin on skin contact since she had first arrived at the high school. Keeping her gaze low, she discarded the papers into the trash can along with all the others.
She glanced up again and met his eye contact for just a moment, then quickly glanced back down to her book bag. After fingering the straps nervously, she slowly rose back up to her feet. "Th-thanks.." She told him quietly, offering a small smile.

Markus stayed still as she reached out to take the remaining papers. When she did, he lowered his arm slowly, keeping his eyes on her face. He felt himself bristle slightly when he took in her submissive vibe and down cast eyes. Anger flickered through him before she met his eyes and that emotion drained away.
He stood up when she did. Though, he had to gaze down at her since he was a good foot taller than her. His head cocked to one side as she quietly expressed her gratitude. A small smile following afterwards. His gaze softened slightly and he offered her his own smile.
"Welcome," he responded, the work accented in Greek.

Calyx tilted her head slightly at his accent, falling silent once more as she thought. It took her a moment to recognize it as Greek. "Transfer student?.." She asked, her voice just above a murmur. She noted moving to Greece if the offer came up. No wonder this guy acted differently from all the other teenagers she had met; he wasn't from this country.
She couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated by him. She hated looking up at people, it made her feel small and insignificant. Both true, though she didn't like admitting it. And this guy happened to be tall. Though she didn't feel anything negative coming off of him, which surprised her. No snicker, no grin. She couldn't help but smile again; it was contagious. She tilted her head back down to the ground, her blue gaze trained on the tile.

Markus felt his smile fade a bit when he heard her question. Though, he did nod faintly. Yes. He was a transfer student in a sense, seeing that he was from Greece, though he did stay in the US every five years or so. And at the moment, he had already been in this country for a solid year, scouting out suitable places to blend in. This town had been a perfect spot even though there were no baby vampires running amok.
He noticed her smile again before her head dipped down, eyes now glued to the tile flooring. Crimson eyes blinked a few times and he remembered that he had to get to first period before it ended. Pulling out the papers from the back pocket he placed them in before, he quickly glanced at the wall clock.
"How... long?" he asked hesitantly. Meaning, how long until the end of first period.

Calyx glanced up at the wall clock, then back down so she could count on her fingers. She had never been really good in math, and even with simple addition and subtraction she still needed to use her fingers. "T-Ten minutes," She told him, then felt a bit of guilt. It was her fault he was this late. Because he had helped her. If she hadn't of been such a wimp, there wouldn't of been a big mess to clean up.
She swallowed hard, nibbling her lip. "I-I'm sorry.." She murmured, shuffling her feet nervously. "Wh-Where are you going next?.."

His attention switched back to the girl as she started to count on her fingers. The action reminded him of a little kid starting to learn their numbers. Though, he blinked at what she came up with. Ten minutes? Damn, but helping her was worth it. He held up one hand to wave off her apology. It wasn't her fault. Then, he just handed her his schedule.
Sure, he could just tell her, but he just might up stumbling over the words. English wasn't a tongue he was very familiar with.

Calyx scanned over his schedule with interest, her head tilted to the side in thought. She had three classes with him; First, second and fourth. And she was pretty sure she had lunch with him, too. "F-First is history.." She told him, pointing down the hall with a slightly trembling finger. "I-I have first block with you, and second, which is Literature, and fourth... That's Study Hall.."
She turned to look at him, holding out his schedule. Her fingers shook a bit, though most of her trembling had subsided. Her free hand clutched her side slightly.

Markus nodded faintly as he reclaimed his schedule from her shaking fingers. So, they shared the first two classes. History -- depending on where it was -- would be rather easy considering he lived through most of the stuff that happened. Literature would be pain, though. And then fourth period study hall. Hopefully, he could sleep in that class. The Greek was still rather tired.
"We go?" he asked, tilting his head in the direction of first period.

Calyx hesitated, staring off at the door. "Th-There isn't much time left, so I-I'll just wait outside the classroom until the bell rings.. Y-You can go in, though.." She said, offering a nervous smile. She pulled her book bag up began to walk in the direction of the classroom, a slight limp in her step. Her ribs were bothering her, though she knew they were bruises and nothing to worry about. She might skip today and go home. It all depended on how the day went.
"D-Don't pay any mind to the people who s-sit in the back.." she mumbled after a moment, glancing to the side.

- He listened to her as she stuttered and stammered as they walked towards their shared first period. The Greek trailed off behind her, watching as she limped a bit. His concern for her increased, even though he didn't really know her. Something in him urged him to try to help this female.
"Will stay," he said. He could wait until the bell rang so that when he went in, it would be less awkward. "With you. Okay?" Even though his words were broken and his Greek accent strong, he got what he wanted across.
