James had a bit of a hard time understanding not having a birthday even though he couldn't remember celebrating his last. "I don't see why I would reject you. I mean..." He couldn't think of anything to say and shrugged. "I'm surprised you're stnaind with me right now."

"No. Not usually." James answered quite flatly. "I've never received a person as callateral no." He rephrased it. "And no, not really. Are you?" He asked, he wouldn't be hungry for a while. Thats why he mostly kept non perishables around the house.

"I suppose." He responded, he was as happy as he was going to get at this point. But he didn't like it that Namian thought he was his slave. Or servant. Whatever he thought he was. He resisted a sigh, "You don't... have to serve me. Or whatever you're trying to do. Just be yourself around here." He said, looking down the hall.

The very suggestion of sleep made him very tired, but he didn't want to admit it. He straightened up and blinked, wondering what time it was. He knew it was early in the morning and thought about calling in and telling his a.ssistant not to bother coming in at all. But he also wanted to continue his conversation with Nemian, dreading the possibility that thing might go back to the way there were before this conversation. He sighed, "I'm exhausted." He admitted.
