Fallen and Memory lay next to eachother. Fallen had his head over Memory`s back as they slept lightly. The lush gras.s tickled Memory`s nose, and caused her to awaken. She lifted her head and looked around. She nudged Fallen`s head off her back and stood up.
Fallen awoke when his head was pushed. He looked up at Memory, then sighed and stood up as well. He shook his body to get the gras.s and dirt, that stuck in his coat, out.

Burn galloped around throught the outskirts of the meadow the herd slept in, making sure there wasn`t any intruders or any danger. When he found nothing. He let out a long breath, and trotted back towards the herd.

Snow lay in the gras.s. Though she was awake, she didn`t feel like getting up so early, so she just layed there. As looked and saw Caspian was awake. She lifted her head and loked at him closely when she saw he was sweaty and his breathing was so rapid, but she quickly looked away before he noticed she was watching him, then stood up and shook off.

Salem woke to the sounds of awakening horses.  She groaned, climbing to her feet and glancing around.  To her disappointment, she saw that Eclipse was gone.  She had placed herself close to Eclipse the other night, and now she was gone.  Salem sighed.  A waste of effort.  As she studied the meadow further, she saw Dawn looking at her.  Salem glared at her and gave an angry snort.  That mare never stopped, did she?  From the time Salem was a foal, Dawn had always looked out for her.  When she was younger, it was fine, but now she was a young adult.  Who needed older sisters?

Trotting up to Dawn, Salem hissed, "Back off, Dawn!  I'm a mare now--just like you.  I can take care of myself."

At Dawn's stunned ex
pression, Salem smirked.  "Got it?  I should think so."

Then, she trotted away.

Salem looked blankly at Burn for a moment, and then flicked her ears in embaras.sment.

"I don't know..." she said carefully, "But I think that she ran off that way."  She nodded towards the far end of the meadow.  "You know how she is."

Burn just turned and galloped off at full speed. He was tired of this little mare running off all the time.
His ears pinned full back as he galloped. His hooves pounded against the ground and sent small clumps flying into the air.

Memory sighed, "I feel sorry for Eclipse." She said softly.
Fallen and Snow just nodded then all three stated grazing.

Eclipse was just laying down, her stomach full of fresh spring gras.s, when the ground pounded.  Hard.  The vibrations swam up her neck.  She jumped to her feet, landed on her hooves just in time to see Burn racing towards her.

"Oh, great," Eclipse muttered.  She swished her ebony tail and waited for him to get closer.

Burn slid to a halt in front of Eclipse, "What are you doing this far out here?" He demanded, "Do you want to be attacked? Do you want to get killed? There`s a reason I have everyone tell me before they leave!" He snapped coldly, "Get back to the herd. Now!"

Eclipse snorted, amused.

"Calm down, Burn," she said smoothly.  She dared to look him in the eye, but then turned her gaze away.  "I was up before veryone else, so I thought that I'd come out here.  You did your rounds, anyways.  besides, can't a mare have any fun anymore?"

She slid a pointed gaze his way, and then began to trot back to the others.

Eclipse slid a look back at Burn.  She rolled her eyes.  The stallion really needed to loosen up.

Suddenly, an idea hit her.  As she reached the herd, she whispered quickly, urgently, "Okay, everyone!  When Burn gets back, run away.  We're playing tag, and he's it."

"No way!" Fallen yelled.
"Do you know how much trouble we would all be in?" Memory snapped.

Burn got back into camp and noticed Fallen, Memory, Snow, and many of the other member(who aren`t being played) were upset about something.

Eclipse snorted.  "You're not fun."

She turned to Burn, seeing his ex
pression was that of confusion.  The game was obviously up.  "Can we play tag?" she asked innocently.

Dawn glared at Eclipse and rolled her eyes.

"Child games," she scolded the slightly younger mare.  "I'm going to the stream to get some fresh berries and water."

((Sorry for poofingon you yesterday.  My mom called me up for dinner, and I didn't have a chance to post that I was leaving.  *guilt* ;s ))

Dawn trotted quickly awy from the rest of the herd, not wanting to be in a large group.  However much she might like to be able to help them, she wasn't much of a lover of crowds.  When she reached the stream, all of the other horses were just specks in the distance, but they were still see-able.  The stream trickled along quietly, its cool waters glittering in the early morning light.  Large clumps of bushes and trees grew along the banks, giving a nice shade and plenty of food.  Dawn selected a few berries off of each bush, eating them quickly.  Then, she splashed into the water tocool off and clean herself.

As she climbed back on to the gras.sy bank, a flash of red caught her eye.

"Oh, hi Fyrelfy," Dawn called as she realized it was only the young stallion.

Firefly nickered warmly, but didn't approach.

Dawn swished her tail, and then settled into the shade.
