Shadow glared only slightly, taking what he said as an insult. To not feel sorrow.. I've been feeling a lot of that lately. Angry, Shadow felt like rising her dagger above her head and just hitting Deak with it. Instead, she stopped and did something different- she kissed him.
Jason laughed as did Mary too. "Yay! Maybe I can beat you again!" she joked. Mary felt safe now, everybody here seemed to love and care for her. Though she was a bit afraid of Shadow. Then a question Mary tried to conceal came out. "Is- Shadow e-evil..?" she asked Jason and Jade. Jason looked at Mary and back to Jade. "Dont tell her, its too much for her to take in if we did.." he whispered to her.

Deak's eyes widened. Last time they did this, Deak was pushed to the floor and yelled at. He slowly closed his eyes and reached his hand up to touch her cheek. He didn't know weather to pull away, or to just shut everything out. Confused, yet not confused. Not to love, he remembered saying. Maybe Shadow can be the exception, Deak thought. Deak pulled away slowly and looked Shadow in the eyes. "I-I..." He began, but was interrupted be the sound of crashing glass. Was this it? Would he die after realizing that wasn't what he wanted? No. Not now, not after regaining faith. He pulled out his sniper and made sure none of those filthy monsters touched Shadow. He now had something to fight for and he wasn't about to give up so easily. He had killed this many walkers before, he could do it again.

Jade took what Jason said into mind. "Mary honey, Don't worry. Shadow isn't evil. She's just trying to protect you, thats all." Jade said, trying to reassure the little girl. "She's just doing the best she can to survive, as are we."

Shadow couldnt believe what she had done. Just then Deak was about to say something until she heard glass breaking. As Deak fought off as many as she could she looked for a way out. Back door was barred and had wood nailed into the door. Above her was the air vent. Big enough to fit a body. "Deak!" she said and pointed up to the air vent and grabbed a ladder.
Jason was a bit surprised that Mary would even- No but it was true.. Deak said it himself. Shadow was a killer to the core. He felt bad for Mary and figured they had enough of the games. "But why did she kill the monsters like that? Yes I know they're mean but.." Mary's voice trailed off. Mary was afraid of Shadow the first time they met. Shadow had a bloody dagger in one hand and ordering Mary to come out or she'd kill her.

Deak nodded and waited for Shadow to go up first. A walker only managed to scratch his leg, but it wasn't deep. He climbed in the air vent, only wincing at the cut. He sat there for a second waiting for Shadow to make the next move. Since there were several different routes in the god forsaken air vent.
Jade sighed. She stopped to think of what she could say to stop Mary from worrying. "Well, I don't know. She just has her own perspective over things." Jade said, think of how she was when fighting. She felt Shadow's pain.

Shadow climbed up and heard the muffled moans of Walkers in the store. "Good thing I grabbed the bag." she said quietly and tried to find her way out. It couldnt be that complicated, it was just a small store. Finally Shadow saw the other duct and smashed it open with her foot. She saw the back of the store and sighed. Shadow then jumped out and waited for Deak as well. She could see the back door that was boarded up and head the Walkers banging on it, trying to get to them. "We should head back aleady, we've been gone long enough.." she told Deak
Mary looked down away from Jade's reasurring voice. "I know, but- Shadow just scares me a little.. But I know shes good too. She did save me after all." Mary smiled and decided to walk downstairs and look around. Jason looked to Jade after Mary left. "We need to tell Shadow 'bout this. I think.. I dont know.. Its just, sadto think Mary is afraid of her own savior." Jason said, confused on what to do.

Deak just simply nodded. He was still a bit in shock from the whole Shadow kissing him thing. He sighed, knowing it would probably just be an in the moment thing to shut him up. Yet, something told him otherwise. Then Deak felt a stinging sensation in his lower leg. He had totally forgotten about the scratch while deep in thought. Worried, he looked up at Shadow. "Will this make me turn?" He asked, his voice a bit shaken.
Jade bit her lip as she thought of a solution. She put her hand on Jason's shoulder. "As much as I want to tell her, I couldn't do that. The last thing she wants is for another person to be afraid of her. We don't want her to run off again." Jade said, knowing that if Jason disagreed, she couldn't force him not to.

Shadow looked back at Deak's scratched leg and a small fear pinched her on the inside, hopeful it wouldnt. "I dont know, it doesnt look deep enough for the virus to spread into your veins. If the worst does happen though, we need to cut it off." she said, half joking and half serious. After a while she could see the house up ahead. Finally, I need some rest.
Jason nodded his head and smiled faintly. "Your right. I couldnt bare to hurt Shadow like that.." he said then stood up. "Thanks, Jade." he smiled and walked downstairs and found Mary, bored and looking out the window, waiting for Shadow and Deak to come back.

Deak just shrugged and kept walking along side Shadow. It didn't take long before they could see the house over the horizon. "Oh thank god." He mumbled, longing for a nice long nap. Without thinking, Deak grabbed Shadow's hand and ran towards the house. "C'mon!" He said with a toothy smile on his face.
Jade followed Jason down stairs and joined Mary at the window. Not long after she sat down next to her, did she see Deak and Shadow running towards them. She put on a smile for Mary, and notified Jason that they were back.

Shadow only laughed and rolled her eyes playfully as they started running. It felt like one of those chick-flicks Mary would force her to come to. You know, where the guy and his love finally reunite and run together over the fields. Except now zombies were taking over the world and they had only been running to their shelter.
Jason was smiling when Jade told him Shadow and Deak were comming back. He then went to the window, but when he saw them he frowned. Why the hell are they holding hands?! Jason then opened the door, as he noticed they were only a few feet away. He then stood there with his arms crossed and a bit of an angry ex
pression against Deak, but he didnt say a word.

Deak smiled as he ran into the house. "Sup Bro?" He huffed. Noticing he was still holding Shadow's hand, he quickly pulled away as his face turned red. "I'm just going to go up stairs and take a nap." He said, still a small smile on his face. Once his was in a room alone upstairs, he just sat on the bed. He couldn't sleep. All he could think about was the kiss. Deak didn't understand. It didn't feel like this the first time they kissed, but the first one was just a result in his raging.
Jade smiled and greeted Deak at the door. Her smile slowly faded when she noticed the look on Jason's face. It was directed towards Deak. Then she noticed Shadow and him were holding hands. Was Jason jealous? Jade couldn't help but think that.

Jason felt like punching Deak there, that stupid smile glued to his face. After Deak left he yelled out in anger. "ARGGHHH!" he shouted and stomped upstairs to his own room, locking the door and angrily throwing himself onto the bed and putting the pillow over his head.
Shadow was confused and surprised when Jason thrashed out like that. She then turned to Jade after he left. "Did I say something?" she asked. Mary watched as Jason marched upstairs. She then looked up at Shadow and Jade, even more confused than Shadow was.

Deak was startled when he heard a door slam next to him. He sighed and walked out of his room and down the stairs. He walked strait to the fridge and grabbed a an apple juice box. Then, Deak formally joined the three girls in the living room. "What was that about?" He asked, sipping his juice box.
Jade shrugged along with a confused face when Shadow asked her why Jason flipped out. She looked from Deak to Shadow. "I have no idea..."
Deak suddenly remembered Jason's obvious "Secret" crush. He quickly looked to Shadow. "You didn't tell him what happened did you?" Deak asked nervously. Even mentioning it made Deak a bit uneasy.

Shadow watched as Deak came down, now she got it. "No, why would I?" she said and looked up the stairs where Jason had slammed the door shut in anger. "I think I get it though.." she said quietly, still not wanting to say it out loud. Shadow remembered back to in the back of the truck where she fell asleep next to Jason, due to it being cold out. She then sighed and looked down to Mary who was still confused, her being young and all. "Mary, maybe you should go play in the room, Im pretty sure theres some books or something up there." she said. Mary nodded and ran upstairs to her and Shadow's bedroom and read Cinderella. "Yup, jealousy's got him." Shadow said to Jade and Deak.

Deak sighed. "How can he be jealous anyways? He barely knows you." he stated. Looking around the room, Deak was a bit uneasy. "Jade could you excuse us for a second?" he asked a bit shaky. She nodded and joined Mary upstairs. Deak avoided eye contact with Shadow as he spoke. "So about what happened... Did it mean anything?" He asked. "I mean I was totally unstable, so it was probably to shut me up or something right?" He asked.

Shadow only smiled from the side of her mouth faintly. "Hm, well you barely knew me before the whole Apocolapse and I was told you were obssesed with me." she smiled even wider. She then stopped when Deak asked about the kiss. "I dont know, could've been a combination of both." she stated. Shadow then sighed in her state of tiredness and hanged her head forward. "Is that it or do you want to keep asking questions..?" she asked in annoyance. (( Is it early morning or still night? Haha I was just kinda confused at the time of day we were in XP ))

"Sorry, god. I was just confused about it. And I knew you, you just didn't know me... Not trying to sound like a stalker or anything..." Deak shrugged. "I'll just leave you alone now." he sighed, not really wanting to. He wanted to kiss her again, but he didn't know weather she would punch him or go with it. Having mixed feelings for someone wasn't very easy.

Shadow only smiled wearily and began to walk to the room upstairs. "Yea, g'night Deak." she said and walked inside to find Mary fast asleep on one side of the bed. She noticed Mary uncovered and shaking a bit. Confused, Shadow put a cover over her quickly as if she would bite her and turn her into a walker. She then went to the other side of the bed and fell asleep.
