The sun from the windows beat down on Deak's face. He had fallen asleep with the bag of chips from the apartment and the remote to the flat screen in front of him. Deak was sound asleep as the static of the TV made its normal no-signal buzzing noise. Then the TV flickered on and off. A girl's voice in panic. Deak had left it on the news channel, not having any luck with it last night. At first he just thought it was Shadow or Jade talking, then he realized it was the TV. Deak bolted up from the couch and dropped his bag of chips. "My god..." He said quietly, as the girl spoke of a save house. "If anyone is listening, we want every survivor to head to this safe house! Its a small town in Texas. Please come as soon as possible!" the girl spoke before the TV started flickering again. "No come on!" Deak said, banging on the TV, hoping to get it to work again. "Guys! Get down here! NOW!" Deak screamed up to them. The girl said a few more details about the location before the TV went back to static.

Mary woke up soon after she heard Deak yelling. She then tried to wake up Shadow but it was no use. "Shadow? Shadow..? Deak is calling us!" Mary said in an annoyed voice. Shadow just moaned and turned away from her. "Not now kid, its early.." she mumbled and fell back asleep. Mary groaned and ran to Jason's room. "Jason! Are you awake?" she called as she knocked on the door. Jason got up and walked to the door. "Um, yea Mary..?" he said rubbing his eye. "Deak is calling, and it sounds important." Mary stated. Jason slightly rolled his eyes and walked downstairs with Mary beside him. He then saw Deak looking surprised and banging the side of the TV where only static displayed. "Oh god, you've gone mad." Jason said, in a bit o a rude voice. Mary glared up at Jason and looked back to Deak. "Deak? Are you ok?" she asked in her sweet voice, trying not to be mean like Jason. Jason couldnt help but smile and try to hide a smile from Deak and Mary by covering his face with his messy hair and trying to hide the smile with his hand. "You really did go crazy huh? I thought you would last just a bit longer." Jason finally said

Deak gritted his teeth at Jason's comment. "Shut the hell up smart ass!" He said to Jason. "Just because your jealous that Shadow likes me, doesn't mean you have to be a complete jerk!" He growled. Deal clenched his fists and took a deep breath. " the TV started working and this girl said for all the survivors to go to this safe house. It's in Texas so we'll have to use the truck to get there." He sighed. And noticed Shadow wasn't down stairs. Totally ignoring Jason, he walked past him, shoving his shoulder into Jason's as he past. "I'm going to go wake up Shadow, ok Mary?" He said. If Deak stayed down there any longer he would explode, and he didn't want Mary seeing that. After getting upstairs, Deak sat on the bed next to Shadow. He gently removed the hair covering her face. "Hey, I've got good news." Deak said in a surprisingly soft voice.
Jade had joined everyone downstairs, as she was already awake. She stood by Mary and sighed as the two boys went at it again. After Deak went upstairs, she silently shook her head at Jason. "Come on Mary, we should get you something to eat, then well join Deak upstairs and see what's going on." Jade said in a soothing voice. "Sound good?"
)( Yeah, I love a good adventure! And Shadow and Deak's relationship can grow on the trip?)(

Jason glared and let Deak pushed him out of his way when he went up to get Shadow. He then banged both his hands against the wall where the stairway was and growled, not caring if Mary was there or not. He then felt Jane's eyes stare at him and heard the two of them walking away. Deak's right, why am I acting like this? I should probably say sorry, to all of them for being like that. No, Im right. Deak deserves it, Shadow should have been with me this whole time, I dont know how she could fall for that idiot. Jason then looked up at the ceiling and sighed, oushing his hair out of his face. There was a safe camp he knew they would be traveling to soon. He could start a new life there, hopefully at least.
Mary followed Jane into the kitchen after Deak and Jason started fighting again. "Whats wrong with them? Why do they keep fighting? It feels like a fairytale now. Except crossed with a scary story.." Mary said, reminding herself about the monsters that took away her mom and the ones that almost got her too.
Shadow shot open her eyes and looked up to see Deak above her. She then put her hand to her throat after Jake had supposivly sliced it open after calling her a killer. She then put a pillow over her head and moaned. "I want to sleep! You know how late it was when I went to bed last night? Damn biters at the store.." she muttered

Deak sighed. "I know and I'm sorry, but this is super important. We found a safe house. Or at least heard of one." He said and laid down next to Shadow. "Just remember I went to bed just as late." Deak nudged her. He stared up at the ceiling as he awaited a response.
Jade shrugged. "I don't know sweetie. I'm pretty sure their fighting of a girl they both like." She said, putting things in a simple and understanding way. "Life is going to be tough now, but if we work together, we can get through this. Plus, if what Deak says is true, well be safe soon."

Shadow got up and ran her hand through her hair. "Ha, safe house? You sure you werent just dreaming, Deak?" she asked, but got up anyway. "Wheres everybody, downstairs? And I heard some yelling too, is something wrong?" she asked again and put her dagger over her head and adjusted the belt that held it, to her back
Mary was still a bit confused. "So, like a story? The bad prince and the good prince fight over the girl? But they're both good, right..?" she asked her as she waited for Shadow and Deak to come back down.

"Yeah their downstairs." He said, ignoring her first comment. "And me a Jason were just fighting again.... He just is being his douchey self." Deak shrugged. Deak slowly sat back up. "Shall we join them?" He asked in a fancy and jokingly way.
Jade thought for a second. "Yes exactly." Jade smiled. It was almost the perfect deion of what was happening. Two princes fighting over the fair maiden. Ok, so a maiden wasn't a good word for Shadow. She was more like the bad ass assassin who almost killed both of them at one point. She had no idea why BOTH of them picked Shadow. There's nothing wrong with her, but still. "Boys, am I right?" Jade giggled.

Shadow let out a small laugh and walked downstairs with Deak to find Mary in the kithcen with Jane, talking about princesses or something..? She then looked at Jason who was sitting down in a chair looking at the TV screen that was off and he acted as if they restrained him to the chair, not allowing him to move. Shadow was about to call out to him but decided he needed som private time so she went to the kitchen with Mary and Jade.
Mary laughed and looked to the door frame where Shadow was standing. "Hi prin- I mean, Hi Shadow!" Mary corrected. She then smiled sheeply at Jade and looked back to Shadow who had a confused face on. "What are you two talking about, hm?" she asked suspiciously, mostly looking to Jade.

Deak followed Shadow downstairs and into the kitchen. He saw Jade and Mary giggling once he walked in. Jade had always been good with kids, yet she never talked about wanting a kid of her own when she's older. Deak took a deep breath before starting to speak. "So I was just sleeping and the TV flickered and the the static stoped and the TV started working. The safe house must have signal or something to be able to broadcast, but anyways, she said something about the safe house being in Texas, so I think we should go." Deak said in a fast pace, causing him to need a deep inhale of air.
Jade laughed along with Mary until Shadow walked in. When she asked what they were talking about, Jade giggled. "Oh, nothing, just fairy tails." She winked at Mary. When Deak began talking, she listen closely. She was a bit questioning about this, as if it could be a trap, but Jade nodded her head. "I think we should go. If it really is a safe house, we wont have to live on stale and unhealthy food." She stated.

Shadow was still confused on what Jade and Mary were talking about, but figured it was something stupid. She then listened to what Deak heard on the TV and wasnt sure. "Deak I know you want to get out of here, and trust me I do too, but how can we trust these people? They could be dangerous for all we know, we cant just travel there and think nobody is going to shoot us." Shadow argued. Mary then looked up at her, she wanted to leave too, but she just got settled in this place. Now they wanted to travel to Texas to find a safe house. How long away was Texas anyway? A week, maybe more? Mary didnt know at all, but she knew she probably eouldnt get a say in this.
Jason got up, realizing he fell asleep in front of the black TV screen. He then heard everyone talking about the place Deak heard about on the television. He sighed and got off of the couch. He then joined the others and stood against the door frame. "Oh that place Deak was talking about? Didnt think it was real.." he said with a tired voice, mocking Deak a bit.

"Yeah but-" Deak began, but stopped when he heard Jason. He gritted his teeth. "Just shut up alreay! You've been a complete ass since I came back from getting food with Shadow! Whats your problem?!" Deak yelled as he clenched his fists. All he wanted was to beat the crap out of Jason, but he chose not to. He had some self controll. Deak just punhed the wall right nex to Jason's head. Through this whole scene, Jade wanted to stand up and stop them, but she knew it would never be resolved.

Jason stood straight, his fists clenched and a small smile played across his face. "Come on, Deak. You wont hold back just 'cause they're here are you?" he smirked. He ignored Deak's question on why he was acting like this. I deserve Shadow you little bastard! Shadow doesnt deserve a little wimp like you. Jason then stepped forward and almost punched him, but instead stepped closer to him until they were face-to-face. "You know why." he whispered into his ear. He then pushed him away and looked at the three girls. He looked at Mary who seemed scared, but Jason acted as if nothing happened. Shadow glared as Jason only smiled at Mary. "Jason, you better shut that damn mouth of yours.." she growled. "What? Shadow, I dont think you want Mary seeing your true side now, huh?" he smiled slyly. "Wh-What are you talking about..?" she asked. "Well, Deak told me about the people you've killed. Dont act like you dont know, Shadow." he said as he looked back to Deak. Shadow's eyes widened and she turned to Deak and gave him an angry look. "Y-You told him..." she started. Shadow then stomped upstairs and slammed the door shut behind her.
Mary watched as the events unfolded. She was now frightened of both Shadow AND Jason. In reflex, she hugged Jade and let tears fall. "I, I want to go to the safeplace.." Mary said softly.

When Jason said that to Shadow, Deak finally exploded. He punched Jason in the face and slammed him against the wall. "I know you think I don't deserve her, but really, its you that doesn't deserve her." Deak growled. "After what you just did to her, you don't deserve crap. Now keep your distance from her if you know whats best for you." He hissed and ran upstairs. "Shadow? Please, I only told him because I thought he was whats best for you. I didn't think he would use it against you!" He banged on the door. Deak leaned his head against the door and looked at his feet. "Then I realized that I..." He started to mumble. "That I love you..." Deak said just loud enough for Shadow to hear.
Jade gently squeazed Mary in her arms. She set her head atop Mary's and closed her eyes. "We'll go. I promise." Jade said. SHe turned to Jason and glared. "I understand you like Shadow, but that gives you no right to act like this! I honestly thought you were a desent guy at first, but now I don't know why they let you join this group." Jade ranted. Her voice was strong, but she still had her normal sweet voice mixed in. She then stood up, holding Mary's hand. "Lets go to your room Mary."

Jason felt drops of blood running from his nose and his back had a bruise now, from where Deak pushed him. It still wasnt as bad as being under Jake's control. He then wiped his nose with his index finger slightly and noticed the blood on it. He then hang his head forward and his a smile from underneath his messy hair. Jason then stopped and looked up at Jade and Mary and realized what he had done. "I-I...." he began but stopped after they left to Mary'a room.
Shadow held a chair right underneath the doorknob and threw herself onto her bed, tears still stinging the corner of her eyes. Thats when she heard Deak come and confess his love and why he did it. She then paced nervously and couldnt help but tear the warm covers with her dagger. She then swiftly took away the chair and opened the door, embracing Deak. "I do to.." she said softly.
(( Jason, due to Jake's brainwash, has a habit of slipping in and out of sanity. Right there, during his rage, he had no idea what happened until he looked around. So for him its like waking up from a bad dream where he was the monster.))

Deak was a bit shocked when Shadow opened the door to hug him, but he hugged back. He was happy she shared his affection. Pushing her slightly away, so their faces were only centimeters apart, Deak smiled. He lifted his hand so it was gently touching her cheek. Leaning in for a kiss, Deak's lips met Shadow's. Only kissing her softly, so if she wanted to, she could pull away. Deak no longer had mixed feelings for this girl. It was certain he was in love with her.
Jade walked upstairs with mary, slowly and unfocused. She stopped at the top of the stairs, seeing Deak and Shadow and smiled. Trying her best to keep her self from squealing. She took a deep breath and her thoughts turned back to Jason. "Mary, I'll be right back ok?" She said sweetly, but quietly so they wouldn't disturb the love birds across the hall. Jade ran down stairs and looked up a Jason, seeing his ex
pression. She put her hands on his shoulders. "I know you didn't mean what you said. I think your better then this. I just didn't think Mary needed to see any of that." She sighed and gave Jason a sympathetic look.

Shadow was a little stuned Deak went in for one. She went along with it until she noticed Mary was staring at them. She then quickly pushed him away and blushed with both embaressment and from what just happened. "Kid! Um, uh.." she stuttered. Mary laughed and pointed at the both of them. "Deak and Shadow, sitting in a tree!! K-I-S-S-I-N-G..." Mary chanted. Shadow couldnt help but smile slightly, turning away from the two and waiting for Deak to respond to all this.
Jason was leaning over the table, if he was old enough, this would be a good time to get a drink. In replacment he drank ater frantically and looked up at Jade who came into view."Yea, I- Im sorry. I just dont know what came over me.. I havent been the same since- Anyway, Deak and Shadow are the perfect match, they're both crazy for each other and crazy in their own way." he stated, only smiling a bit at the crazy part. His nose then started bleedinga bit more after Jade put her hand on his shoulder. Embaressed, Jason grabbed a napkin and put it under his nose. "Again, sorry. For everything that just- happened." he apoligized agaiñ.

Deak Laughed when Mary chanted, and at the fact that Shadow was blushing like crazy. It reminded him of when he and Daisy found Zeak and Shadow kissing. Knowing someone would see them and Shadow would get embarrassed, Deak wasn't mad when she pushed him away. It probably would have been better to of done it alone, because this always seems to happen. Deak smiled at Shadow and waited for her to make the next move.
Jade sighed. She went over to the fridge and reached to the very bback. She had a small stash of beer. Even though she had never drank in her life, she was saving them for a special occasion. "I know your having a hard time so I thought you could use one." She said taking out the only two. "Besides, is there even such thing as a law any more?" She asked, taking a look outside. Jade popped off the lids and handed one to Jason. She took a sip and scrunched up her nose. "Yuck." she giggled and took another reassuring sip.

Shadow glared slightly at the little girl who was still singing. She then rolled her eyes and smiled, "Come on kid. Go to your room and color or whatever little kids do.." She said flatly. Shadow wasn't very good with small kids. She wasn't very interested in coloring and board games, not like anyone would play with her anyway. Shadow mostly wandered the streets alone or stay in her room, daydreaming of the day she could leave her home an fight crime. Mary giggled and ran up to her room herself. Shadow then awkwardly looked at Deak. "So, this safe house...?"
Jason looked at the beer and only smiled before pushing the water away and taking a sip from it. "Gross but satisfying." He stated before taking another sip. He then looked right at Jade and blushed lightly. "Thank you, Jade.." He said

Deak smiled as Mary ran off. When Shadow mentioned the safe house, he nodded. "Well the girl said it was in Texas... Its a huge metal warehouse, with multiple floors.... And if we use the truck, we might be able to get about half way there in a few days. The truck probably won't hold up for very long though." Deak said, planning everything out. He was trying to remember the details, but he had the coordinates memorized. "We should probably find a map too. That would be useful." He scratched the back of his head.
Jade smiled to Jason. "No problem." She looked down at the bottle and took another small sip. "So once we get to the safe house, if we do, do you think your going to stick with us, or go start fresh?" She asked, hoping for him to say he would stay.

Shadow smiled weakly. "Yea, good idea." She said. Shadow couldn't help but feel that Deak was taking charge here. Shadow wasn't used to following others orders at all, Shadow wanted to say something different, to make Deak and the others follow her ideas. "I'll tell Jason, he'll probably listen to me more." She said, taking some pride that she knew at least Jason trusted her a bit.
Jason sighed at looked straight at her, then the ground. "Um, I don't know. I was thinking.." He was reluctAnt to tell her his plan. "That maybe- Look, if I tell you you can NEVER tell a soul, you understand?" He said, growling very slightly, not knowing if he should trust this girl. "I'm leaving." He began with no emotion what so ever so. "After you guys get halfway there, I'm d-ditching you. I wasn't going to tell anybody this 'cause I know y'all will just worry. I'm leaving and taking my crossbow and my small bag." Jason couldn't look into her eyes, knowing that shed be angry after Jason left.
