Jason felt bad for keeping that cloth in his mouth. He wasnt able to speak or do anything. Dont do it Jason, he'll probably just turn on you and Im pretty sure you dont want that.. But you cant just leave him there.. what if he wants to say something important..? Carefully, Jason reached over and undid the cloth with Shadow knowing. "Anything to say Deak..?" he asked softly. Jason then began the truck and started driving off into the distance, trying his best to avoid any zombie mobs so he went all the way around the town.
Mary looked back at Hansville. The place where her mom was taken away. Maybe we'll find her on the way. Mommy cant be gone, can she..? "I love you mommy.." was something Mary wanted to say so bad to her mother right now. She overheard Dave and Candy but said nothing.

Deak was took by surprise when Jason took the cloth off. He looked over to him and opened his mouth. "Jay..." Deak said trying to pronounce his name. "I... Remember... some." He said pointing at the pictures in the scrapbook. "Zeak." He pronounced almost perfectly, pointing to a picture of Zeak. HE looked back down and turned the page. The next picture was the first time they met Jade, when they were five. On that same page there was one where they were playing in the sprinklers. Deak ran his fingers across the pictures as the went through them. He was staring to get some of his memory back, but only from his early life.
((I don't really have anything to post for Jade and Dave right now "^.^ sorry.))

Candy looked back at Mary. Where was her mother? What if.. Oh that poor little girl. She probably lost her during the breakout. Candy turned back to Dave. "I dont know." she whispered. "She might have... you know, turned?" she said that word even softer so Mary couldnt hear. Candy then turned to Shadow, eyeing Mary and mouthing the word 'Mom'.
Shadow sighed and looked at Mary and back to Candy. Mary seemed to be off in her own land right now. She seemed to dread leaving Hansville. But it was where her mother was taken. Poor Mary probably thought she was still around. Shadow looked at Candy and Dave and shook her head and looked down, giving them the idea that she didnt make it.
Jason couldnt help but smile as soon as Deak spoke. "Yes! Oh man, I hope you come back. Im sorry about the fight we had before too.. I dont know, do you remember?" he asked looking down at the picture of the guy known as Zeak and another of Zeak, Deak, and Jade playing in sprinklers. Jason was now convinced Deak could be cured, but what exactly from? Did he take something that made him immune or of the sort..?

Deak gave a small smile to Jason at the thought of them fighting. This guy did seem like someone he would get in a fight with. He kept looking through the pages. though Jason did seem like the guy he would be good friends with too. The next set of pictures, they were all about ten, and Jade had made the two boys dress up in dresses and play tea party. Zeak was laughing so hard his face was red and Deak was pouting while sipping his tea. If zombies could laugh, Deak would be laughing his ass off.
Dave shook his head. "That would be horrible, I hope thats not the case." Dave whispered back. "Though I think this girl needs adults to take care of her, not a bunch of teenagers who don't know a thing about raising kids."
Jade gritted her teeth when she heard Dave's comment. "Excuse me, but I heard what you said and I would have to disagree. After Zeak's mother got ill and died, I took care of them in that house, until they moved out that is." Jade crossed her arms. She was actually legitimately offended.

Mary looked up at Dave, a bit confused. "My mommy is coming back. They are just keeping me safe for now." she pouted. Her mom had to be out there right? Afterall, Jade and Jason kept a good eye on her. But Shadow was more of her protecter and Deak was.. she honestly didnt know what Deak would stand as. She didnt really spend lots of time with him.
Candy looked at Jade, a bit ashamed at herself and for Dave. She glared a bit and jabbed him in the ribs with her elbow. "Sorry Jade, he doesnt know what he's talking about.." Candy apoligized.
Shadow heard this as well and scoffed. "Yea, you bet he doesnt.. I saved her." she hissed. She knew Dave couldnt have meant it, he was probably just worried for Mary's future. Though her now growing up in this place, Mary probably wouldnt grow up to like Barbies and rainbows.
Jason couldnt stop smiling as Deak kept flipping the pages. He was just glad, well hopefully Deak would turn back. "Do you know whats healing you, Deak?" he asked, eager for a reply.

Deak looked up and turned around, looking through the back window at everyone. He pressed his hand on the window in the direction of Shadow. "S-Shadow..." He mumbled just loud enough for Jason to hear. He turned back around and began flipping through the pages again. Each page was for a different year in their life. Since Zeak and himself were born on the same day, they were always on the same page. Though it was the last page that caught his eye the most. There were a few loose pictures and they were all current. One was of Zeak and himself the day before all this happened. The second one was of Shadow running across roofs and the third of Daisy. He must have taken it when Daisy wasn't looking because she looked surprised in it. Deak was completely dumbfounded at this picture of the little girl. At that moment, something a zombie could never do, was done. A small tear streamed down Deak's pale face.
Dave looked at his feet. "Sorry I didn't mean to offend you, It's just while her mother isn't here She needs proper care." Dave said, trying to help the situation he was in.
What Dave said didn't make Jade feel any better. She turned her head from him a pouted. "We may not be the best parents, but she's alive isn't she? With out her mother, were like her second family. Yes it might be a little dysfunctional, but its always more exciting that way!"
((Lets say Deak took a picture of Daisy and it was in his pocket. As a weird back story, he took it before they went to save Shadow. He wanted to have something that resembled her if he died. So Jade got it from his jacket he left in his room.))

Jason tried to focus on the road as he heard Shadow's name. "Heh, Shadow..? Wha- what about.." he stopped as soon as he saw a tear stream down his face. Walkers couldnt feel at all, or talk. What the hell was this? Jason wanted to pull over and talk to Deak but he couldnt offord wasting time or stopping just to announce to everyone in the back. "Um, Deak.. are you ok..?" he asked. Up ahead he could see the next town. There was only a few mobs and there were very little of Walkers in each one. The town was called Jarolds and there was a motel. "Finally." he mumbled.
Candy facepalmed herself. This was not helping. "Dave, I think it would help if you just shut up." Candy said. She then felt the truck advance in speed a bit and thrusted her head forward to see a town. "Sorry, again, guys.. Anyways it seems Jason is going to stop here so we can stop talking." she pouted in Dave's direction.
Shadow felt like punching Dave right there. "I'd shut up if I were you, Dave." she said sharply, her eyes burning with fury. Mary smiled a bit when Candy said she saw a town up ahead. "Finally. Im tired.." she said softly. Mary could feel herself forgiving Shadow now, Jade and Shadow were now standing up for her and she felt a bit happy about it. Mary then felt her stomach rumble as well. "Um, Shadow.. Im kinda hungry.." she said sweetly. Shadow nodded her head and looked back up at Dave. "And I can prove it by finding hr some food." she stated with a cocky smile.

((Yeah, that sounds fair. Maybe they can stop here and stretch out and rest?))
Deak took a deep breath and wiped his tear away. His voice was less dry, but still not normal. He put his hand on his chest, where it was aching. That wasn't the only thing that hurt though. If he was a regular walker he would have eaten these people already, but because he forces himself not to, he is beginning to starve. Deak wanted something to eat, wether it was an animal or a person.
Jade sighed. "I know your trying to make it better, but it isn't working hon." Jade said, hopping Dave wouldn't say any more. When Shadow said she was going to find food for Mary, Jade took it as her chance to get out of this truck and away from Dave. "Can I go too?"
Dave stopped talking and looked at his feet. He was silent the rest of the way, and didn't reply to Shadow.
((Sorry Dave's is short, I'm kinda brain dead for him right now "^.^))

Jason looked strangley at Deak and stopped carefully and slowly near the motel. Deak was showing emotions and feeling things he shouldnt be feeling. Jason quickly put the cloth over his mouth again carefully. "Sorry buddy." he said. He then opened his own door and walked out, his pistol fully loaded and carefully looked around before going to the back. "Ok guys lets do this quick." he said.
Shadow turned her gaze towards Jade, she suspected this was the time for bonding. "Sure." she said just a bit hesitantly. Shadow then turned to Mary and it seemed she wasnt mad anymore. The truck then came to a stop and Shadow waited for Jason's ok. She then helped Mary out and waited for the others.
Candy felt akward but she was grateful the conversation stopped when Jason said it was fine to get out. She then hopped out and looked at the motel they would be staying at for tonight. "Ok, lets check out the place first and make sure its fine." she said to Jason. "Candy, mind watching Mary here while we check out everyhting?" she asked. Candy nodded her head as a reply and took Mary's hand while Jason and Shadow began scouting the place for any Walkers.

Deak pouted when Jason put the cloth back on. When everyone got out, he wanted out of the car. Feeling around until he found the car door handle, Deak got out and followed the others in. He dragged his feet against the floor, making a lot of noise. Even knowing Jason has a gun, Deak pushed to get to the front and walked into one of the rooms. It was probably the biggest one at the motel, meaning more walkers would be in this one then the others. As predicted, Deak saw about four walkers in there. He walked back out to Jason and scratched at the cloth. "So... Can fight..." Deak mumbled from under the cloth.
Jade smiled at Shadow and got out of the truck as well. She needed time to stretch. Jade had never traveled that far out of her state, even if Pennsylvania wasn't that far away. She took a look around before noticing Deak left the truck. "Urg! It's like babysitting a three year old!" Jade shouted, very frustrated. She walked over to Jason, hoping to find Deak close to him. Thats when she saw him coming out of a somewhat large motel room, saying he wanted to fight. Typical Deak, Zombie or not.
Dave was relieved when they finally stopped and everyone left the car. He looked over to Candy, who was watching Mary, and sighed. "Sorry about that. I'm not usually a jerk." he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. Dave didn't want these people to think he was going to be an ass the whole trip, so he decided he try to keep his mouth shut for most of it.

Jason jumped when Deak pushed him aside and Shadow covered her mouth to keep from screaming. She then sighed in a frustrated tone and gently pulled back Deak. "No, Deak. Dont worry, me and Jason got it under control." She began, putting her hand on Jason's shoulder. "Just get back with Jade and we'll tell you when its clear, ok?" Shadow assured. Jason felt himself shrink a bit, knowing if Deak was still alive he'd be pretty pissed off for Shadow rejecting him and telling him to go back.
Jason then looked back to Jade and cocked his head to Deak, telling him to go with Jade as Shadow said. "Sorry buddy.." he whispered ever so softly. It felt like Shadow was taking charge now, and he hated it. Back at the old camp with Jake though, he was his second in command, of course he would feel like this. Jason was used to having some control. Maybe he should've stayed? Jake was right, Shadow was a bloodlust killer, even if she felt a heavy amount of remorse or not. Maybe one day though, Shadow wont be leader and he can step up, if he stayed anyway..
Mary smiled slightly. "Its ok. But I know my mom is out there. Shadow and Jade are only kinda like, babysitting me.." she said softly. She then watched as Deak went inside, Jade following afterwards.

((Its ok! I jumped with excitement when I saw the alert! XD))
Deak growled at Shadow before going off to pout. He stopped next to Jade and turned around, looking back to Shadow. He slowly made a motion with his arms, as if he was trying to cross them. Then he turned around and kept walking. "Not Fair." Deak said as firmly as he could. It was the first time he didn't have to space out his words. He walked over to Mary and stood next to her, not saying anything. When she mention her mother, It made him think about his own. The only person he could picture was Zeak's mom, and she wasn't even around long enough to fully raise them. He looked down at Mary. "Probably... At safe house... Waiting for you." He said, struggling to get the words out.
Jade giggled when Deak put on his pouty face and attempted to cross his arms. When they were walking back to the truck, she was amazed Deak could say something without pausing. It seemed like it was usually hard for him to talk. She sweetly smiled at what he said to Mary. "Yup, he is still the same Deak we all know." She said to herself.

Shadow advanced forward slowly to the large room Deak said he saw the Walkers. There sure was at least four in there, but firing their guns would be too noisy. She pulled out her wooden knife from her shoe and told Jason to put his gun down. Jason then pulled out his own knife but had wondered where Shadow got the wooden one, maybe she carved it? He felt himself growing a bit too suspicious of her, and he didnt want to be like Jake. Shadow and Jason then took down all of the Walkers and searched the rest of the building.
Mary smiled at the zombie Deak even thought he kind of scared her. "Thanks Deak." she replied, happy to know he was sticking up for her right now. Mary then turned back to Candy and Dave. "Um, do you think the other girl will be ok? I mean, after she ran off and all.." After saying that, Mary bit her lip. Thinking it was a bit rude to ask that question after what Shadow did.
Candy looked to Mary an felt herself shrink. Would Elen be ok out there by herself? What if they find her again at the safe house? Will she be glad to see us or not? She thought to herself. "Uh.. I dont know Mary." she then fidgetted nervously. "Dave, why dont you answer her question?" she asked, giving him the 'Sorry fr making you do this' face.

Dave gave candy a quick glare before looking back to Mary and answering. "To be honest, She's probably gathering up new members. She's to stubborn to go down this easy." Dave shrugged.

Deak wanted to smile, but he couldn't. He had done it before towards Shadow, but why couldn't he do it for any other occasion? So instead Deak just shrugged. He watched as they talked, and he wanted to join in, even if it was something completely random. Deak then realized the cloth was still over his mouth. He began to scratch at it again. Not being able to feel pain, Deak was scratching a little to hard, causing cuts on his cheeks.
Jade sat on the end of the back of the pickup truck, listening to everyone go on about the whereabouts of that Elen girl. She sighed and swung her feet for she couldn't touch the ground. Jade looked back up, seeing the scratches on Deak's face. "Hey deak, stop that!" Jade jumped down from her spot and walked up to Deak, pulling his hands from his face. "Stop scratching at your face!"

Shadow and Jason finished checking out the few rooms of the motel. "How long are we going to stay? I know we have to get going but I dont think a just a night will be fine for everyone. Texas is REALLY far away from here." Jason said. "I know Jason but.. I just want to be able to get there. Deak said it was there and-" "And what? Do you even know if this is safe? Let me ask you, do you even believe what Deak said?! We could just be going across the country for no reason Shadow!" Jason barked. Shadow took a step back a bit. "No, no I dont. But this is on his behalf! Deak is some kind of.. thing and I just want to do this for him! I just want to do this right.." Shadow confessed. "What do you think the people there would do if there is? Huh? They'd kill Deak as soon as they saw him, they wont give a crap if your love turned! They- They'd just shoot her! And what could I do? Nothing. I watched her die right in front of me!" he shouted, tears stinging his eyes. Shadow now understood and she hugged him. "Im sorry." she said as Jason hugged her back. "We have to go give out the OK.." Shadow said. Jason nodded and walked outside alongside Shadow. "Clear." Jason said, standing close by Shadow. She was now his best friend here, Jason knew Shadow would be there for him no matter what.
Candy tried to ignore David's glare and looked back to Shadow and Jason giving out the clear. "We should just go inside now.. Come on Mary." Candy said taking her by the hand. Mary followed Candy happily and soon found a safe room to sleep in. "I saw Jason. Is he ok?" she asked her. Candy didnt really pay attention to Jason. "Um I didnt notice him? Why?" she asked suspiciosly. "Well, his eyes were red and usually thats what happens after you cry." Mary replied. "Oh. Well, Im sure he'll be fine.." Candy said reasurringly. "Just go sit down and maybe Shadow and Jade will find something for all of us ok?" Mary nodded and sat on the bed.
Shadow looked to Deak and realized the cuts he was making. She groaned and walked over to him. "We have to take it off. But we'll have to keep him in a separate room, just in case." she announced. "Jason I want you to keep watch while me and Jade go look for supplies. Keep the walkie-talkie and report whatever is wrong." she said handing him one. Jason nodded, "Jade,I can help you put Deak in a room if you want?" Jason suggested, trying to be helpful.

Jade nodded and followed the others in. She sighed in relief when Shadow suggested to take the cloth off. Yet, she didn't want to put him in a separate room, were no one could keep an eye on him. Jade looked at Shadow, who was taking the leader role. She didn't like it, but if she wanted to stay a friend of Shadow's, she would have to keep her mouth shut. "Ok." She sighed, feeling she didn't have a say. Jade smiled at Jason and nodded. "That would be nice."
Deak looked at he others, hearing them talk about putting him in another room. He shook his head and walked into the room everyone else was in. "Don't want... To be alone." He said shuffling behind Jade, thinking she would stand up for him. That plan backfired. Jade was soon trying to guide him to another room.
Dave was very cautious about this walker they were keeping with them. He had no idea they could talk or behave like this, but it could be temporary until he starts trying to rip open their skulls. He slowly backed away as the walker known as Deak walked into the room. Dave didn't want that thing in the same room as him, and was glad Shadow sagested he be separated from them.
((Maybe Deak can save Jason from something soon? Maybe a walker they missed that was hidden?))

(( Yea your probably right. I was thinking Jason since he has been alive for a while already but then again he is still developing feelings for Jade >.< And if he does die, I was thinking since he will be on guard duty, he can be shot by a mysterious person in the woods XP Idk yet, I will see.))
Jason followed Jade and helped her guide Deak, glaring a bit at David who was staying cautious. "Sorry buddy.." Jason said as he put him into the room. He then turned to Jade and smiled. "Be safe, ok?" he said, giving her a warm hug.
Candy looked outside to see Dave keeping his distance away from Deak. "Dave? Are you coming up or not?" she called.
Shadow went inside quickly to see Mary in her room. She then set her baggage down and grabbed the flashlight, seeing it was already nighttime. "I'll be back Mary. And if I dont, I want you to stay strong. And hopefully, you'll find your mom." Shadow said with a soothing voice. Mary hugged her unexpectantly, "Ok Shadow. I'll miss you.. and please be safe." Mary sniffled. Shadow nodded her head and stoped mid-way and turned back to Mary. "Just in case, I want you to have my special knife. I want you to use this for protection and to remember me by. Even if I do come back, you can still have it." Shadow smiled and handed to to her. Mary nodded and took it before Shadow headed down once more and waited for Jade.

Jade smiled and hugged Jason back. "Don't worry, I will." She said sweetly. He patted Jason on the back a quickly fled the room before Jason could see her blushing. She took a deep breath and walked over to Shadow. "I'm ready when you are!" She said, a little too happily. She lifted up her shirt to show Shadow a pistol. "Just incase." Jade told Shadow, even though she knew it would make a lot of noise.
Deak reluctantly went into the other motel room. He was kind of pissed, but at the same time just sad. It made him think that Shadow didn't trust him, even if he was a zombie. When Jade hugged Jason and left, Deak heard the closet door rattling. He walked over and opened it. A walker jumped out and knocked him over. He saw it heading for Jason, and his eyes widened. If Jason got bit, they would think it was him, Deak thought. Deak grabbed the walker by its neck and smashed its head against the floor before it could get its grubby hands on Jason. As the walker laid there, dead for the second time, Deak slowly stud up and looked at Jason. "You... ok?" he asked.
Dave sighed, glad the walker was taken to the other room. "Yeah I'm coming." He said hesitantly. Once he entered the room, he saw Mary and Candy already inside. It wasn't long before Dave heard a loud bang in the room the walker was in. He realized that Jason and Jade had gone with the walker. This worried him.

Jason could feel his cheeks growing hot after Jade left. As he was still standing in the doorway, he heard a thump and quickly turned to see Deak atop a dead walker. He took a step back in fright and slowly nodded his head, clearly feightened that he almost died if it wasnt for Deak. "Th-Thanks.." he stuttered. "Sorry I have to leave you here. It's Shadow's orders and I believe I owe her a couple." Jason explained. "And if I could, I would stay in there with you."
Shadow looked down to the gun and reluctantly agreed to take it. She knew it would be hard to stay with Jade for who knows how long on this trip. "Ok, lets get going then." she said as she turned on the flashlight. Shadow then began walking with the flashlight in one hand and a ready dagger in the other. "So uh, what happened to you when this whole zombie thing broke out? You had a crew, you stayed in a shelter, you.. stay by yourself?" she asked. Up ahead there was a general store and a medical store. She prayed there was some supplies left behind, at least enough for Mary.
Mary jumped at the noise and quickly ran outside to see Jason scarder than she had seen him before. Before she had a chance to look at what Jason was staring at, she felt someone grab her by the shoulder and pull her back. She heard Candy gasp, "Mary no! I dont want you to see that.." Candy said and quickly pushed her back inside the room. "Im not a baby! Besides, I've seen those.. monsters before. Im 6, practically almost 7!" she argued. "I dont care, Mary!" Candy shouted, not meaning to raise her voice. "Im sorry but.. the way the world is right now.. I just dont want you to turn into a heartless person." Candy said softly giving her a hug. Mary sighed and sat on the bed again. "Fine.."
