Upon closer inspection, River noticed something. "Cole. I'm going to kill you." He noticed that it was his shirt. He got face to face with Cole. "Couldn't you rip up one of Shay's shirts?"

"Um... No." Cole simply said.  River's shirt was obviously a size or two larger than Shay's, so it provided more cloth.  More cloth = more healing.

Shay smirked at River.  "Of course, of course - now you realize this.  Serves you right to lose one of your shirts," she said teasingly.  "Oh, and it was yourr fancy one, too...  Whatever shall we do?!"  she mocked, putting her hand to her forehead ever-so-dramatically.

"Oh hush, Shay!" River said. And then he heard something, something that sounded painful.

In the cave, Lacey was getting up. She groaned. Her head hurt. She had used too much power. "Uggh..." She held her head. and stumbled forward, her raven-like wings keeping her balanced.

((Fail.))

Cole looked over at Lacey.  Walking over, he sat knelt beside her.  "I see you're awake."

"La-di-da, whatever."  Shay said, smiling.  Then she looked up into the sky, deep in thought.  Now that Lacey's awake, we're going to have to get a move on.  But she has a bullet wound and she's tired from power exhaustion.  Will she be able to fly in that condition?  Will we be able to go somewhere safer?  But if we stay here another night... Well, who says we'll even make it to night-time here?  If the Erasers came, that means that the whitecoats know where we are.  So more enemies will be coming, whether we like it or not.  Turning to Lacey, she expelled a small sigh.  "We're going to have to start moving," Shay started.  "The Erasers have already found us.  Who knows what's coming next?  So we're going to have to leave.  Lacey, can you fly in this condition?"

Lacey nodded at Cole. She looked over at Shay and answered her question by saying, "I can try." She extended her wings a bit, and flapped them. She winced. She would be able to fly, but it would be painful. She ran a hand through her black hair and sighed. She hated feeling helpless.

River looked at Shay and smiled. He rolled his eyes and looked over at Lacey and Cole.

Cole could see Lacey had experienced pain.  "Is there any way we could delay the flight?" he asked, turning to Shay.  Shay replied, "No.  But.. I guess we could try going on foot.  Or, rather, River could carry Lacey."  Cole shrugged.  Either way seemed fine.  Either way meant less pain for their newcomer.

Shay looked over at River with a serious ex
pression.  "And when I say you could carry her," she spoke, "I mean it."  Scanning the area in case River wasn't up to it, she was wondering if there were any paths.  But people might spot them that way.  Hm, any un-made paths through the woods..?

(Bump~)

"No. I can fly," Lacey insisted. She almost got angry. "C'mon. Let's just go." Lacey jumped into the air, and flapped her wings. She began to escalate into the sky. Her flying was a bit akward, but she could fly. She looked at the three other bird kids and said, "You coming?"

River was amazed at how the girl insisted on flying even though she was in pain. He nodded at Lacey and flew up after her.

Shay was already following Lacey.  "Beat ya to it," she said to River, pulsing forwards ahead of him.

Cole sighed, then decided to go off with the rest of the flock.  Pumping his wings, he caught up with them.  "Where are we going, anyways?"

Lacey watched as River thought. She wondered why the two older looking ones, Shay and River, called all of the shots. And she still wasn't sure of River.

River tapped his index finger against his chin. After a moment of thinking, he said, "I think that we should go to a more populated area. You know, try to fit in. Maybe the Erasers won't pick us out like they did before."

Cole heard River but had no apparent reaction.  Instead, he went over to Lacey, flying beside her.  Hmm.  She didn't look like she was hurt too bad..

Shay groaned.  "What if we get caught by them then have to escape and fly out in public?  It'd kill our rep we've built up for so long!  And, by a rep, I mean no rep. And I'd like to keep it that way."  Sighing, she drew her hand over her face and decided.  "Yeah, yeah, let's go somewhere like that.  Now, we're around... Yes, we're somewhere in rural California.  So, if we travel somewhat, we'll find a greatly populated city. I mean, you gotta have 'em in Cali."

River grinned. He had forgotten that they were in California. "Let's go to Los Angeles." He smiled wider. He loved water. And almost all major California cities were built alongside the ocean.

Lacey looked at Cole with a raised eyebrow. He was too close to her for her liking, so she moved towards Shay. To her, Shay seemed like a reasonable girl. "I agree with Shay," Lacey said, making sure that her wings were at least three feet away from everyone else's.

Shay was excited.  "Yes! We're gonna go to LA!" she said happily.  "So, we gonna hit some hotspots there, too?  We better!  If not, I'm gonna totally rip your throat out."  She smiled.

[Hee hee, got nuttin' to say for Cole.]

Lacey smiled. She definately liked Shay. Of course, she was a bit too loud... Lacey's black hair swayed as she flew. "To LA we go. If my sense of direction is right, it's about an hour flight north of here."

River looked at Lacey, and sighed. Finally, he had heard her talk about something casual. For a bird kid, at least.

Shay nodded in agreement.  "Onwards!  And let's hope we aren't delayed."  Her eyes narrowed at the thought, but she pushed it away, returning to her normal self.  "So, we're going to go to DisneyLand, right?  I mean, a trip to Cali isn't complete without going to DisneyLand!  Of course, DisneyWorld would be better, but you gotta work with what you've got..."  Shay continued talking, spewing out information about DisneyLand, DisneyWorld, the Exploratorium, an Alcatraz tour (which she wasn't really too thrilled to go to), and Six Flags.

Cole rolled his eyes and sighed.  Shay could be such a kid sometimes.  Didn't she ever grow up?  Oh, yeah, sometimes she did.

River sighed and crossed his arms. "There is a Disney World in Cali, dumbutt." He snickered and brushed Shay's wings with one of his playfully.

Lacey didn't know what to think of this. First, Shay seemed like the most mature of them all, but then she was acting like a little kid, and so was River. She moved over to Cole, feeling as if he were the more mature one now.

Cole saw Lacey.  "What do you think of the Flock?" he asked briskly.

Shay rolled her eyes.  "DisneyWorld is in Orlando, stupid.  As in Florida.  DisneyLand is the one in Cali," she explained.  "But anyway, we still might not get to do it.. Depends on if the Erasers or anyone is there to ruin all the fun."

"I just wanna go to the beach. Where there's a beach, there are hot girls." River smirked at Shay.

Lacey sighed. "They're definately interesting." She ran a hand through her black hair, and her raven-like wings kept her hovering beside Cole.
