Chaston felt several drops of rain pellet her small figure, and shivered, moving under the ledge of nearby shops, walking close to benches to avoid getting hit by more of the icy cold liquid. Sure, she didn't mind rain, but this rain was freezing cold, and she got cold very easily.
She turned a corner and walked into a nearby cafe, sitting down at a corner booth, and waited for Traine to seat himself across from her.
"They've got good food here, and good drinks, too. Their hot chocolate is to die for," she said at a medium volume level. It was noted that there was no menu- They had a small menu board up on the walls next to each booth. The menu wasn't extensive in its variety of items, but it had decent selection, with the most expensive item being a steak sandwich.

Traine followed her into the little cafe. It wasn't some huge place, but it wasn't all that small. It didn't seem like a hole in the wall as there were several other people in the cafe, enjoying their food and drinks. It was a homey little place, enveloping his already cold frame with warmth, which he was happy for. He smiled a bit at the warmth before he noticed he lost chase!
He looked around and ran over to the booth when he spotted her. He slid into the seat across from her a d lowered his furry hood. He shivered as the warmth caressed his cheeks and nose, which were slightly red from the cold. "So, this doppelgänger of mine. Have you met him? And how? I'm really interested in him now."
He looked over the menu after he finished talking and decided that he'll probably get that coco she said was "to die for" and maybe something sweet on the side. He really wanted a cake or something. |

Chaston readjusted herself in the seat as Traine sat across from her, careful not to let her legs touch his. She didn't want this situation to turn awkward. That would be disastrous. She'd had many a situation turn awkward simply because of some minor physical contact.
She propped her chin on her hand, her elbow resting on the table. Her clothes were warm, and she was comfortable. She stretched slightly and went back to her previous position, trying to figure out how to answer Traine's questions and inquiries.
"Well, I met him in the woods early this morning," she said, "when it was still dark." She didn't want to explain that she went on night-time runs while she was unconscious. That would freak Traine out, and she didn't want him just leaving. "I have a tendency to get lost, and I did just that. Your doppelganger found me, carried me home, and then ran off," she said, hoping she'd summarized it well enough.
"He said his name was.... Kentaro, I think."

That name. Something about that name made something in his head start turning. Thoughts rushed by in a flurry. Each one there and gone for about two seconds before it led to another thought. He looked at her, blankly at first before he shook himself from his thoughts. He nodded and could tell they probably hadn't met on good terms.
"Kentaro? That name seems really familiar.. Maybe we are related or something." He sighed and tried to think back to his childhood, but realized he couldn't remember anything from before second grade. Sure he remembered class lessons, but friends and family were just a blur of faces.

Chaston was about to snap her fingers in front of Traine's face when he went almost into a trance-like state of thought. His eyes. She could see that he was thinking, and that he was thinking hard. She was almost curious about what was going on in that head of his.
"That's weird that the name sounds familiar. I'm sure you know him. It's not every day that you hear a name like that," she said, pursing her lips. She was almost freaked out by this now. "Yeah, he had red eyes just like mine, but other than that, he looked just like you." She shook her head slightly, chills spreading up her arms.

The temperature around him started to drop and there were little wisps of steam where the rain was evaporating from his skin and clothing. Water kind of hurt, but not as much anymore. Living with the humans and their weather patterns helped to evolve his own species. They were more resistant to water but the sun still stung like a cattle prod to bare skin. He watched as people parted to let him through. He hissed at them slightly, baring his fangs.
Some girls swooned over his good looks and the fat that their was this vampire obsession going around the world. He didn't know where they got these ideas, but he didn't care. Once he hissed, all girls, swooning or not, would run away or part to let him through. He growled to himself me felt something sting his back. The sun was beaming down through a little hole in the clouds. His eyes widened and he couldn't help that he hissed again. The collar around his neck started to give off a faint glow to reduce the pain from the sun. He looked around frantically to find someplace to hide, to shield himself.
He spotted a small cafe and rushed in, his body giving off a chill before he warmed up. The inside was rather homey and warm. It felt good on his skin even where the sun was just burning. He looked around and decided to just sit in a booth that didn't face a window. He didn't want the sun to suddenly come out and burn him to a crisp in such a public place. He ordered himself a coco, needing something to heat the inside of his body, even if his blood was cold.

Traine shrugged. "Maybe he's from an early time in my life. The name sounds very familiar, ur I can't put a face to it. The. Again, I can't put a face to people that I knew in my first 6 or 7 years of life." He cupped his mouth and his eyes widened. He just told her something very intimate and he just met the girl! He sighed. "Sorry, you didn't need to k-" his thoughts were cut short when he felt a chill go up his back.
He didn't know what it was, but lemons or something was here and it was drawing him again. That same feeling he had earlier as happening again. He furrowed his brow and rubbed his temples. "Anyways... You didn't need to really know that, it just kind of came out." He rubbed his head again and the name resonated in his head. Kentaro. Kentaro. Why did he know that name? Traine and Kentaro. Come here boys. He jumped in his own memories. Boys? Their mom? No no... HIS mom. What the hell was going on?

Chaston tapped her chin lightly as Traine shrugged and began to speak. She didn't put any thought to what he said until he cupped a hand over his mouth. It wasn't a bit deal, really. It wasn't as bad as her not being able to remember anything before the age of seven, and going on weird midnight runs.
She let her jaw drop and tuned out Traine momentarily when she saw Kentaro walk in. She could spot his red eyes from a mile away. She knew who that was, but she closed her mouth, chewing on the inside of her cheek to keep herself from interrupting Traine.
When Traine stopped, she didn't respond to what he had said. She simply whispered across the table, and pointed discreetly to where she had seen Kentaro go and sit. She didn't stare at him, lest it be obvious that she was talking about him.
"He is in here right now. Kentaro," she said, her voice barely audible. "In that booth over there, I think."

Kentaro sipped his coc, not really paying any mind to the waitresses words that it was hot still. It's not like he cared. The sting wasn't really there, the burned tongue would heal quickly too. He looked up from his cup and took out a small pendant he kept around his neck. He clicked the side and the pendant flipped open to reveal a picture. It was of him and another boy, his twin. They looked exactly alike, right down to the birthmark they had on their shoulder blade. Their large amber eyes staring at the camera.
He frowned and sighed. He wanted to find his younger brother again. He wanted to talk to him again and go out with him. He wanted to be able to hug his brother again. They used to hold hands wherever they went as kids and he even missed that. Though he wasn't about to hold his brothers hand now. "Damn it Traine... Why'd you go missing...?"

Traine's eyes widened at her revelation. He gaped a little and couldn't believe her. He knew she met the doppelgänger just a few hours ago, but to his again in one day?! He followed her discreet gesture and looked toward the booth. He scanned the other booths first on his way over. Nobody in any of them. When he reached the one she was referring to, his jaw just about hit the floor. There, in the booth, sat an exact copy of himself. The hair fell in the same way. The eyes shaped exactly alike and the skin tone was an exact match!
"Oh my god, you're right! He looks just like me. Ahh... Should I go talk to him? Should we? I really really want to!" He was part whispering and part talking. He kept his voice low enough so it didn't get to the doppelgänger. He smiled and looked back over. The guy was just like him! Did his parents never tell him about his own brother?!

Chaston pursed her lips. Traine was certainly excited about this. Apparently, he didn't know about the legend that if you saw an exact copy of yourself, you would die within three days. That was just a legend, though. Still, if she saw an exact copy of herself, she'd stay the hell away from it.
"Don't look directly at him or he'll get suspicious," was all she said before taking a moment to think.
It took her a good thirty seconds before she finally answered Traine. "We can go over there, but I'm not sure what'll come from it. This is freaky," she said, looking from Traine to Kentaro, and then back to Traine. They were mirror images, save their eyes.
"C'mon," she said, moving from her seat quickly and heading over to the booth that held Kentaro, stopping in front of it and biting her lip.
"Hello, again," she said.

Kentaro snapped the pendant shut and then placed it back in his shirt, not wanting to remember the day his brother went missing, more like kidnapped. He sighed heavily and finished his drink before he heard a very familiar voice. He chuckled and set the cup down with a soft clink as it hit the saucer the waitress cave him. He looked up at Chase with a smile and his eyes were just about glowing red.
"Ah, good to see you again, Chaston. I see you've decided to wear shoes." He teased a bit, all in good nature. He noticed someone standing pretty close to her. He raised an eyebrow and looked at the male that was behind her. His eyes widened and he snapped his pendant open again before he took it from his shirt and looked at the other boy. He kept looking from the boy to the man in front if him. "Traine!!"

Traine jumped when the man yelled his name. The it hit him. How did he know his name? He'd never met the guy, let alone told him the name. "H-how do you even know my name?!" He felt the urge to just sit there with the guy. He sat across from him in the booth and just studied the boy from his chest and up. He scrunched his face a little.

Chaston felt like the odd one out. It was like she was watching some weird soap opera.
All was well for the first few seconds.
Kentaro teased her a bit, and she smiled, though she still felt awkward. Then, apparently, Kentaro spotted Traine, which sent the man into a spasm of looking from a pendant that he pulled from his pocket to the boy that Chaston had just met.
When Kentaro said Traine's name, even though she'd never introduced them, she nearly put her hands up in defeat. That was when things got weird.
Chaston sat on the edge of the booth, with Traine, one eyebrow raised, looking down at her hands confusedly.
Deciding to break the small silence, she put on a fake air of being okay, and smiled.
"Traine, this is Kentaro; Kentaro, this is Traine," she said, gesturing to each of them in accordance with their names.

Kentaro looked at the pendant one last time before he snapped it shut and looked at the man across from him. He finally found him! He finally found his own long lost brother. He didn't know if he should say something. When Chase introduced them to each other, he nodded. He stuck his hand out to his own brother before he took it back. "Wait, okay... Traine.. I'm sorry, but Traine, I am your brother."
"Brother? Now I'm really confused because I've never known about having a brother. Sure, you look just like me, but.. I mean." Traine scratched the back of his head, unsure of what to say. He didn't exactly trust the guy but then again, why make up a story about being related if you weren't? He looked at the guy. "You know, honestly, I don't believe you..." |

Chaston noted that these boys sure were blunt- Kentaro especially. He sure didn't break the news to Traine easily-

She rubbed her temples, and shook her head. This was insanity.
When Traine said that he didn't believe Kentaro, she couldn't really disagree or agree with either one. She'd met both of them in the same day, and had about the same amount of interaction with both of them.
But the more she thought about it, the more she wanted to take Kentaro's side. They looked identical. Down to their facial features. Once again, the only difference that could be noted at the time was their eye colors. Kentaro's was like hers, while Traine's was a warm amber.
"Traine, he has a point. You two are identical." Forgetting that what he had said earlier was some sort of secret or personal matter, she said aloud, "Plus, there's the fact that you can't really remember anyone before the age of seven, right?"

Traine whipped his head around to look at Chase. "W-well, yes, I cant remember anything from before that time. But that doesn't mean I've had a brother. I mean, mom didn't even have any pictures of him and me together. It was always me and mom and dad. That was it. Nobody else. I mean, they have pictures of me as a little kid though I don't remember taking those pictures."
Traine looked at Kentaro and desperately wanted to believe him now. The boy was probably telling the truth. He didn't have a reason to lie. Did he? No. He was just someone who looked like him and now he finds out he had a brother since he was born. A twin no less.
"I know you don't believe me, Traine. But did you even think that maybe those pictures were cut? Folded? Anything else? I've been looking for you. Look. We grew up in a small town on the coast. I can't remember the name but there was a beach not too far from our house. There were boats there and the older couple asked for help. But, you were taken."
Kentaro sighed and looked into his empty cup. "I don't know where you had been taken. But I could never find you. I don't know what to say to make you believe me." He sighed and ran his finger along the rim of his cup.

Chaston realized that what she'd said was something personal after she'd asked it, and she discreetly placed her hand over her mouth, mentally scolding herself. Her and her big, outgoing mouth. She was no good. She pushed the thoughts of negativity away as she listened to the two boys- mirror images, more like.
"I have to agree with Kentaro. He's saved me, Traine. He's a trustworthy man. He's not lying to you," she said, tapping her fingers anxiously on the tabletop.
"You two have to be twins. Maybe I could do some research on recent kidnappings? My father is involved in the local police department, and he has contacts with police stations all over the place. They'll have records of kidnappings or missing child reports," she said, pulling her hair over her right shoulder, seeing as how her neck was getting kind of warm due to all of the heated air swirling around them.
Also, she had been wearing warm clothes. Finding a ponytail holder around her wrist, she tied back her hair in a high bun, not even her fringe left in her face, revealing her forehead- which had no freckles on it. It was as pale as the rest of her albino self.

Kentaro nodded. "You should look in on those. I know my parents reported him missing but after a few years, they kind of have up on seeing their little boy again, but they died... Horribly." He sighed and stood up. He wanted to leave somewhere a little more private. He just wanted to talk to his brother, maybe be able to get to know him again.
"Can we go somewhere else? I don't wanna bein here. I mean, I just found out I ha a twin and I really wanna talk to him. What do you say Chase? You said you're gunna look up the kidnappings.. I wanna know too." Traine looked at her and tried to give her his cutest smile. |

Chaston's eyes widened as Kentaro mentioned their parents dying in a horrible way. Her interest was piqued now, and she was fully interested. If she had dog ears, they would have been perked up, alert, and listening.
She turned to look at Traine as he spoke, blushing when he offered her a cute smile. She bit her lip, fighting off the obvious pink color in her pale cheeks, and looked down at her hands.
"I'll check into the kidnapping stuff as soon as I can, but my father just left for vacation today. He won't be back for a week." She rubbed the back of her neck. "I'm sorry, guys, but you'll have to wait. That is, unless you don't mind me hacking into their computers." She mumbled the very last sentence.

Kentaro smiled a slightly crooked smile. Oh, this girl was going to be fun. Maybe watching this human child wasn't going to be so bad at all. He still cursed his higher ups for sending him out into the only town that had nary a shade of tree in the town! How was he supposed to walk with the humans if the sun was always beating down on him?! He hissed to himself and looked up at Chase, his eyes brightening. "My my.. Chaston knows how to hack into a computer? Isn't that interesting?" He smiled at her.
Traine looked to his twin. No no! Bad! He didn't even know if he was a twin. He looked at Kentaro and scowled. "Kentaro, that isn't something you should say out loud! I mean, come on. That's rude." He crossed his arms over her chest and glared at the slightly taller man. He didn't want the boy to reveal anything else.
"Aww.. Come on Traine, don't be a sour lemon. You were always like this though. Sour. Never fun even as a kid. We used to catch frogs but you always scolded me about how dirty they were and then I made you lick one! Aw man, that was too funny!"
