Ryu gumbled slightly when he felt Nate start moving. The boy had woken up and was talking to him. He could understand him, despite his sleepy mind, but he still didn't want to get up. It was nice being able to enjoy the warmth from the other breathing person here. Well, more like living person. Technically the Crazed could still breathe. He hissed slightly and sighed to himself more than to Nate. "'Morning... I don't wanna get up though. You're so warm.." He pulled Nate closer, not caring if he was making the boy uncomfortable. He wanted to be warm and warm he will be. He pulled the boy flush against his chest and burried his face in the crook of Nate's neck. "Give me five more minutes." He smiled against nate's neck and let out a low purr from the back of this throat, or what would be the human version of a pur. |

The closeness suddenly bothered him unlike it had the night before, and now all he wanted to do was to get away. Nate somehow managed to wiggle his hands between their chests and pushed Ryu away from him. "Erm, I think it's time to get up." He said, and struggled to undo the zipper to the sleeping bag. It reluctantly opened and the teen slipped out of the warmth and into the crisp morning air that nipped his uncovered skin. Nate forced himself to stand, wavering and nearly falling on the way up. He stumbled to the mouth of the cave, not looking back at his friend. The beautiful crystals that had lit the cavern last night were no more that pretty glass now.

{aww.. Poor Ryu}
Ryu was slightly hurt that Nate wanted to get away from him so quickly. He sighed and when Nate scrambled for the exit, Ryu felt his stomach knot. That was just plain rejection. He rubbed his face and ran his fingers through his hair. He sat up and looked at Nate. Poor kid. Ryu stood up and stretched himself out, popping his back and joints. He wanted to be relaxed, but already he wasn't feeling calm. Like there's something out there he should be worried about. He hissed when he caught some of the suns rays in his eyes. The crystals from the night before looked like glass now. Nothing special about them in the day. He looked around and grabbed his shoes, slipping them on quickly. He grabbed his bow and ran towards the cave mouth, wanting to get to Nate. "Hey! Dude! Don't run off! We're in the side if a cliff remember?!" |

Nate paused and glanced back, surprised. The thought of leaving the cave hadn't even crossed his mind. If he had, he probably would have put on his shoes and grabbed his pack. He had just wanted to get some space, and, well, the cavern was large enough for him. Nate waited for Ryu to catch up to him, which didn't take long because the other man seemed to be in a hurry, then turned back to the entrance. Nate raised a hand to shield his eyes from the light. He and Ryu must have slept in later than he usually did, for the sun was a decent hight in the sky. Nate looked down at the valley under the hill they were inside. The area seemed clear to him; he couldn't see anything moving.

Ryu ran up to Nate, having caught up with the boy after initially scaring him off by getting too cozy. Heran up and stopped next to Nate. "Sorry dude... I didn't mean to scare you off like that. It's just that I haven't had any human contact in so long and body heat is too good right now. I was just really comfy with all the heat." He tried to sounds casual, but inside, his heart was pounding. Did he ruin their friendship on the second day? He sighed and looked out to the forest below. It didn't seem like much was happening. It seemed peaceful for one. He still felt like he should be on high alert, but that may just be paranoia for all the time he's spent alone,

Nate tore his eyes away from the scenery at Ryu. The other seemed sincere, but his voice wavered slightly as if he was worried. A part of him wanted to just ignore Ryu's apology, but, well, he wasn't that upset about the snuggling, and if he acted mad or anything like that, then their friendship would be ruined and Nate would have to hide in the woods again. "It's fine." He said, glancing at his unruly fingernails awkwardly.

Ryu smiled a bit at that. He was really happy that he didn't scare off his new friend. That wouldn't have been a good way to start out this day. He sighed with relief and looked at Nate, who seemed very interested in his own fingernails. They were a bit unkept, but that was probably from not being able to relax at all this world. He chuckled and looked at the scenery before giving Nate a sidelong glance. He smiled. "At least I didn't scare you away. I didn't wanna do that, but body heat is so scarce right now and even warmth itself is. I mean, it's bitterly cold at night and the sun just heats us up until it starts to set then the cold settles in." He sighed and sat down on the ledge, unsure of what to do today. They were definitely low on food and he did want to at least wash himself a little.

Nate dropped his hands to his sides and shrugged, understanding what Ryu meant. Nate stretched his arms out and rolled his shoulders. His body was surprisingly sore from sleeping on the cave floor, but it wasn't that bad. He suddenly realized that he was thirsty, an uncomfortable feeling he was used to. "We should probably look for a river or pond for water. Maybe they'll be fish we can catch."

Ryu looked up at Nate when he rolled his shoulders. They did sleep on a cave floor. Must have done a number on the kids back. Ryu stretched himself out, his bones popping and his spine setting itself back in place with a few pops. He nodded to Nate's idea. Maybe they should find some water. Fill a canteen and maybe the jug he was carrying around. He shifted himself until he could stand. "Yeah.. Bathing is a luxury right now and I seriously need one.. Maybe I can wash mp the clothes I got muddy. And my face... The mud from yesterday is flaking and hurting my skin." He rubbed at his cheek and a few flakes of dried mud fell. He sighed."Are we returning to this cave or should we move on?"

Nate shrugged. He liked the cave, it was pretty high up and required climbing to reach it. It was doubtful that a Crazed One would be able to reach them without making a ruckus. Nate didn't see any reason to leave the area; the shelter would protect them from rain or early snow. If they could find a source of water, then they would also probably be able to find some kind of game trail and pray. Maybe even fish if they were lucky. "Why don't we stay here for a bit? We don't know if we'll be able to find another natural shelter like this."

Ryu nodded in agreement. He did have some logical points. They were safe from many more natural elements than if they moved. Plus, Crazed he saw couldn't climb, so that was a plus. They didn't have to necessarily worry about them getting up and hurting them. He shrugged and nodded. "Alright then, that's perfectly okay with me. I mean, we don't need to leave and we can enjoy some peace from all the raging war out there." He looked down at the ground that seemed farther than it was. Ryu twitched slightly. "We should head down."

Nate hummed and agreement. He turned around, walked back into the cave, and gathered his and Ryu's canteen. He moved back to the entrance and handed Ryu's water container to Ryu. It would be pointless to go and find a stream without bringing anything to hold water in. Nate glanced at Ryu before starting down the mountain. Not far down, Nate suddenly realized that he should remind his friend to bring his bow just in case. "Do'ya think we'll need the bow?" He asked. There was a chance they would run into something that wanted to hurt them, as well as a chance for them to find pray.
