Elk stared at Brisingr, feeling frightened of the silence between them. The human looked... confused. After what seemed like forever, the pup finally spoke, startling Elk and causing him to tense up again and stare at him in fright for a few moments before calming down. Carefully, he nodded, still staring at Brisingr. Although he might have been able to, Elk was still to nervous to attempt to speak with a human voice just yet. 

Brisingr lick his lips just to give himself something to do. He took sudden not that Elk was stressed and seemed vunerable in his new humanly form. He took hold of Elk's head and pressed it against his shoulder.

Elk buried his face in Brisingr's shoulder when his was pressed against it, whimpering slightly. His body was still shaking quite a good deal, probably both from the cold and his own fear, so he couldn't do much with his arms other than keep them crossed for a little bit of warmth. 

When Brisingr spoke again, he froze, glancing up at the human with wide eyes. Something... that let Brisingr know he was still him? Elk forced himself to try and think of something that could be similar between this form and his real one. After a moment, he got a small idead and began licking softly at the human's neck. The rhythm that Elk used to lick things was something that was to him only. Surely Brisingr would see the similarity between now and when he'd been licking him before.

Brisingr raised his good hand and petted Elk lightly on his head of russet hair to re*censored*ure him that everything was going to be ok. He wanteD Elk to know he was still the same person and Brisingr would treat him as he did befor.

Brisingr gave a soft smile as he looked over to Elk.

Elk stared at Brisingr for the longest time, the humans words completely catching him off guard. Then, suddenly, he threw his arms around the other male and hugged him tightly, feeling that was the only way he could properly express his feelings. He swallowed nervously, looking up at the pup with still-wide eyes.

"Brisingr.... th-thank... you." he rasped. His voice was soft and barely audible, but he was surprised he'd been able to say that much. No animal spoke like a human did, so he'd expected it to be a lot harder. Maybe it was simply a part of shifting into a human that made him able to speak decently at first.

Elk was hugging him. A form to show his appriciation and care. Brisingr returned the hug with a stronger embrace.

He almost didnt know how to respond. "Elk..."he murmered into his ear. "Your voice is golden..."

Elk snuggled up against Brisingr, seeking the male's warmth and comfort, but shivered when Brisingr whispered in his ear. Blushing at the compliment, he averted his gaze and shifted shyly. He still wasn't used to hearing nice things being said to him or about him.

He took a deep breath, willing his voice to work again before speaking. "Brisingr... is a good friend." he murmured shyly.

And I'm not. I've seen your posts and in comparison, I'm not literate enough. :/

Elk just stood there once he was able to stay on his feel, holding the blanket tightly around himself. "I'm what the wolves call a shifter. We can change into any living creature that we want as long as we imagine what it's like to be it." He took a deep breath, unable to believe he was actually speaking, with a human no less! "I shifted because you were scolding me for keeping things from you..." 

Elk took the clothes, staring at them as he tried to figure out how to put it on. The best he knew about getting dressed was when he'd seen Brisingr start to do so. He tried to pull the shirt over his head, fighting with it for several minuets and actually having to sit back down on the ground so he wouldn't lose his balance in order to get his head and arms where it was supposed to go. When the shirt was finally on him properly, he let out an exhausted sigh, as if he'd just climbed a hard hill.

As he was trying to get the other pieces of clothing on, he looked over at Brisingr, watching him curiously. Something in the human's voice sounded odd. "So, if your father never lets you roam, how are you out here with me?" Elk asked, his voice casual and without the slightest traces of suspicion.

"Well, I begged to come out here. If I didnt the woodlands might not be here now."he said looking down. "It was a coming of age favor to me from the king.....I am...his only son after all"
