Amber eyes twinkled with amusement as he continued to go after the man-beasts rather feline tail. As he tried to get his paws on it, it kept tweaking around. The playful churring left his throat again as he lowered to his forelegs and raised his rump, wriggling it, he pounced again.
And missed again.
His ears flicked as a smell reached his nose. He turned his attention to the strips of fresh meat and cocked his head to one side, tail flicking with curiosity. At the gesture the man-beast made, Xerxes snatched up a strip and swallowed it within a few bites. Subconsciously wiping his tongue down the length of his muzzle, he went after the remaining pieces. Before long, those were in his stomach as well.
Feeling rather full, Xerxes jumped up onto the log and rolled over onto his back, exposing his soft -- yet vulnerable -- stomach to the male. His tail flicked happily and one paw reached up to touch the man-beast's arm.

[Time skip alert.... Weeor weeor.]
After a night full of playing with his new fox friend, Rowan woke at the fireside, a small grin upon his face. Butler had just started to go through their supplies, picking up a hunting bow and frowning. "I could've sworn that we has some fresh meat." Rowan shrugged, hiding a grin. "Come see, come sa."He said, leaning back against the log and shutting his eyes. Butler gave him an exasperated look and shook his head, eying the slumbering Prince with a frown.
It was midday before Rowan woke again, and Butler was out in town. He made a tiger like huff and dusted himself off and deciding to go back into town. Against the raging, brisk wind, he walked up into Calluni. His hood was pulled up as he reached the market square and gazed over the assorted stalls, looking at the splicers and having a sudden urge to be home.

Xerxes stayed all night with his new friend, liking the man-beast. He stayed curled up near the burning embers, but left early when the sun was just starting its ascent into the sky. The fox had other things on his mind, such as getting more food in his system and talking to the two wolves.
Though talking was relevant when one was an animal.
Isedon woke to her link whistling. Growling under her breath, she snatched it and pressed a button to show who was calling on a hologram picture on the wall beside her bed. Her eyes narrowed into slits and she ground her teeth together. It was that man. How did he even get this number?
Snarling, she tossed it and punched it against the wall so the device crumbled into tiny pieces. Now she'd have to get a new one. Anyway, time to get up and face the world. With a quick glance towards the clock, she saw that it was a little before noon. Good. Since school was out -- both because of the war and it was summer, and she had graduated at the beginning of June --, she could sleep in to her hearts content.
But she still had stuff to do.
After a quick shower, she dressed in her usual clothes and tied the denim jacket around her waist. Before she left the apartment, she slipped her plasma sword into the space between the jacket and her pants and pulled on the two claws she had gifted to her when she did graduate from normalcy.
The claws slipped underneath her leather gloves and stayed attached to her fingers through small, transparent bands that were resistant to the plasma that made the claws.
When she had everything she needed, she left her apartment, locked up, and slipped her keys into her pockets before heading down to the markets.

Rowan wondered the stall, fingering the small pouch of gold at his waist as he spied something glittering in one particular stand. It was a fang, made of a beautiful golden amber, on a leather string. He held it up to the light and smiled, handing over the gold. The shop keeper, a wizened old lady handed him his change and smiled at him. His lips twitched upward in return, as he went back to wondering the market. About an hour later, he came back with some furs over his shoulder and planks of wood bound together under one arm. Spying Butler, he made his way over to the guard and smiled at him.
"I picked up some stuff for you to take back to camp, oh great hunter... Or should I say shopper?" Rowan grinned. Butler scowled, realizing that Rowan had seen the meat from the butcher tossed into a sack and hung over one shoulder, and took the things from the Prince, making his way back to the campsite. Rowan looked pleased with himself, going to a nearby food-stall and picking up some lunch for himself. He sat down on a wooden bench, opening up the packaging of his tomato sandwich. He then leaned back and took a breath of the fresh air before consuming the sandwich and just sitting there. He wondered what his parents were doing, and his fox friend and that strange girl from last night.

The market was bustling with noon shoppers. And it proved quite the challenge in keeping her patience under control... and to keep herself from yelling at everybody to just move. To say she was in a bad mood was an understatement. On top of having to get prepared for tonight's fight, she had to get herself a new link. And there was a shop that sold them... on the opposite side of the market she was closest too.
Slipping around the patrons, she murmured select phrases under her breath in Japanese as she felt her anger rise and her hands ball into fists at her side. Her back tensed as she stiffly maneuvered around the last of them. With a sigh, she ran her fingers through her russet and black hair.
Approaching the stall, she greeted the shopkeeper with her usual gusto; which was a brief nod in acknowledgement.
"So, Isedon, need another link? What happened to your other one?" the keeper asked.
Isedon's russet eyes flickered up towards the older male and tilted her head to the side before letting her eyes fall back towards the different links he sold. "It met its demise this morning when it found itself between a fist and a wall," she replied, deadpan.
"You broke it?" he asked, receiving a piercing glare in return. He sighed. "Father called?"
"Yes." After her hissed, one word reply, she picked up the link she wanted and handed it to the male. "I want all the same contacts. Minus the parentals in case they found somewhat to get their numbers on it."
The shopkeeper nodded and staggered off to the back where he kept the computers and systems that did all of the work. Turing around, Isedon leaned her hips on the sturdy steel and cloth covered table as she slid her hands into her denim jacket pockets, watching the crowd.

"Gráin liom tuathánaigh" He said, wading through the crowd. Before, it had been busy. Now, it was a flood of bodies all pressed up against one another. He scowled and pushed his way through, standing a head taller than most of the people there. He passed by several shops, looking through them and only stopping to by a small knife.
Piercing green eyes narrowed into slits from beneath the shadows of his hood as he took in several of the people around him. "Cac" he swore, trying to push his way through the crowd. He spied a small shop on the other side of the market and made his way toward it, squinting to read the sign.
Rowan managed to wade all the way there, glaring at several people on the way. Once there at his designated shop, he looked around and spied something which made him straighten up from his slouching position. An almost familiar bob of russet and black hair popped from the market. He changed course toward that shop, shoving several people out of the way to get there.
"Hello, sweetheart. Cad é atá tú ag déanamh an tráthnóna cóir."

A voice snapped Isedon out of a daze she put herself in. Glancing at whomever spoke, she came face-to-chest with a tall male. Her eyes widened slightly before she craned her neck up a bit to look at him. Tilting her head to one side, she felt a blank look take over her features as he spoke another language.
"Hello," she said. Shifting slightly as she felt the metal hilt of her plasma sword dig into her hip, she added in a semi-polite way, "Can I help you?"

He grinned from under the darkness of his hood before shrugging. "Maybe." He said, wiping his face clean of all emotion, except a small smirk as he lifted the black hood away from his face, revealing his facial features to the girl. "Maybe not." He continued, flicking his fringe off his right eyes, only for it to land back on it again. The green of his eyes seemed to be containing silent laughter as he said "Hello again sweetheart. Am I that easy to forget?"

Russet eyes widened then narrowed when he pulled back his hood. A scowl curved her lips and she snorted. "I don't forget a face. I just don't like it when people keep theirs covered," she said. "So, green-eyes, whatcha doing in this neck of the woods?"
The older male came out from the back just then and handed Isedon the link. "All new number, same contacts. I also took the liberty of sending a message out to all of them saying you got a new number."
Isedon took the link and placed it in her ear as she paid for it with the Eris currency. Most of her winnings from the arena fights were paid with the paper money called s. Though she did have some of Calluanul's coins stashed in her apartment.
"Fighting tonight?" the male asked, handing her back some change.
Isedon nodded. "Yea. Same time too. Not sure who I'm up against."
The male shrugged. "Whoever it is, they'll loose. Nobody wins against the Black Fox anyways."
Isedon felt her lips curve into a twisted grin, eyes narrowed and gleamed with maliciousness. "They all end up loosing something in the end."

Rowan grinned at the green eyes comment, one hand subconsciously checking that his tail was still tucked up his shirt. Once he found that it was, his hand dropped back to his side. Traces of the grin were replaced by a curios raised eyebrow as he overheard the two's discussion. When they finished and the older man turned back to his counter, he smirked at her and cocked his head. "This is becoming a habit, you and me bumping into one another. And you talking to someone about some secret buissness." He grinner, eyes shifting in tone slightly.
He ran his tongue over the front of his teeth before going on. "So.. What are these 'fights' Black Fox." He said, in a friendly, almost teasing way. Rowan shrugged as if dismissing the topic, taking in a deep breath of fresh air and glancing around. "This place sure is a lot quieter at night." He muttered under his breathe. He allowed his green eyed gaze to meet her russet before grinning and breaking contact. "Your fox friend sure is friendly."

"A habit would be considered more than five times. A coincidence is what you mean," she said shortly after the shopkeeper turned back to the links on the table. Isedon turned to look at Green-eyes. "They're street fights between all the gangs in the city. Doesn't matter if your human or splicer," she said. Pushing herself away from the stall, she took a few steps away from the market crowd. "I know somewhere that's a lot quieter than this place if you want to go there."
"I basically raised Xerxes. His parents were killed and his other litter-mates died of starvation. He was the only one barely clinging to life when I finally found the den," Isedon replied, her voice gone soft.

Rowan's eyes softened silently."How would one... Join these fights?" He smiled to himself and folded his arms, cocking his head as he heard what Xerxes had gone through. "He's quiet a bundle of joy though. He and I Téigh in aithne ar, sorry, Meet, last night." He said, thinking back to the fiends he meet on his way out of the city, and the high pitched yowl he'd heard.
"In fact, I think he helped me out with some street fiends." He said, his eyes ever so distant.
Snapping himself back into reality, he nodded his agreement. "Somewhere quiet would be good." He said, filing away the information about the fights. He muttered something, that, to someone with no knowledge of the language, would have trouble disciphering. "B'fhéidir nach mbeidh Butler cheadú de mo cheanglaíonn ar na troideanna, ach is dóigh liom mé ag déanamh é ar aon nós." He murmured to himself.

"He did," she said, thinking back to last night, seeing a proud Xerxes in the mouth of the alley that led to the forest. Turning so her back faced him, she motioned for him to follow before moving off down the street.
"If you want to join the fights, you have to prove yourself in the streets. The arena is for those who have been sponsored by a gang leader. Alexai, the Auphesix leader, sponsors me. He also taught me to fight. There are three gang leaders who have not sponsored anybody yet. Two are human, the last is a splicer," Isedon informed him.
"Tokidoki watashi wa kimyōna hitobito ni au," she muttered under her breath as she sighed. "Alexai wa osoraku, watashi ga betsu notatakai ni hairu tasukete iru koto ni mo shiawase ni narudarou sa rete imasen. Sore wa watashi ga haiboku shinakereba naranaidarou koto o mōhitori ni narudeshou. Watashi wa chōdo kare wa watashi ga tasuketa saigo no otoko no yōna namaikina o shiridenai koto o negau. Baka wa, kare no jinsei o ushinau koto ni natta."
[[ Translation; Sometimes I meet the strangest people. Alexai probably isn't going to be too happy that I'm helping another get into the fights. It'll be one more person that I'll have to defeat. I just hope he isn't a cocky ass like the last guy I helped. Idiot ended up loosing his life.
Just for your benefit. ^^ ]]

[Thanks >,<]
"I like the sound of the splicer one." Rowan said, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. A splicer was more like to accept one of their own, than a human. Besides, it would give him a chance to test out the 12 different fighting styles he'd insisted on learning as a child. Over the years, they'd merged into one, very personalised, style which Butler had nicknamed 'Cú Chaorthainn'. At the thought of home, a lump formed in his throat, which he swallowed. He wondered how Jaron and Raven were.
Shaking his head, he dispersed the thoughts he had of home and heard Black fox muttering something. The language was familiar, but he didn't catch enough of it for it to make sense. He shook his head again and chided himself silently. Curiousity killed the tiger. He looked back at te girl and cocked his head at her, looking at her and judging how she'd be in a fight. He came up with several situations, most were close calls with him winning by the skin on his nose, but, on the odd occassion they tied or she launched a surprise attack.
He shrugged dismissing the strategy thoughts from his head. "So, where is this splicer gang leader?" He asked, murmuring something under his breath afterward. "Mbeidh Cú Chaorthainn withstand ngabhann grinnscrúdú ... Tá súil agam go"

Isedon paused for a moment and glanced up at him. Stupid tall person. Still, she furrowed her brows at his question. Shrugging, she answered, "You can't find him. The splicer is a Lion. He shows up when it pleases him. Though, now that I think about it a little bit more. He can be found at some of the splicer street fights, looking for a potential to sponsor."
Smoothing out her brows, she watched him now a bit curious. He asked about the splicer gang leader. Does that mean he is a splicer? What kind? Questions about it bounced around in her head. Before Green-eyes could notice her curious stare, she turned her attention back in front of her.

Rowan nodded back, taking in the new information about the splicer. "We're are the gang fights." He asked curiously. He had briefly entertained the thought of telling her about being a splicer, but regected it, thinking that any advantage was good in his eyes. He mentally shrugged. If and when she took him to the fights, she'd find out, but what she didn't know couldn't hurt her.
Watchful hazel eyes took in every twist and turn they took, so that he could return to wherever they were going at a later date. As they walked, his mind ran away with questions, like who she was and why she was so.... Pleasant to him.

Isedon cocked her head slightly. "We're close to a popular spot now. I doubt anybody will show up at the moment. Mostly kids acting like their favourite fighter." Though, she rubbed the back of her neck as she clarified her last sentence. "But the kids don't come to the fights. They just hear about it through their older siblings."
She stopped at an intersection. The corners were lined with nonde buildings and posters adorned the walls. The images on the posters ranged from announcing old fights between even older fighters to the newest generation. Even Isedon's Black Fox poster was somewhere around here.
"Here is one spot." She turned to face him. "I actually started here. One of my fighting posters should be around here somewhere."

Rowan nodded, frowning slightly when he heard that no one would be there. "Why wouldn't anyone be here?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. One hand almost crept round to his hood, but it dropped as Black fox continued. "Were there more people back then?" He asked, genuinely curious.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spied a tattered poster, with big, bold letters spelling 'Black Fox' over the top half. He turned away, looking around for anyone. He thought he saw a glint of gold, maybe from someone's eye, in the shadows, but it was gone as soon as he saw it. As he towered over the female who'd lead him here, he casually looked around, his brazen green eyed glance looking for anymore gold. Finding none, his gaze returned to the female.
Rowan's tail itched to be free, but he dared not to. Instead he scratched the back of his head with his left hand and smirked at her. "So sweetheart, what's your real name. If I keep bumping into you, it might be better if I didn't just call you girl."

Isedon gave him a droll stare. "Think about it, Green-eyes. Street fighting ain't legal. Most of the contenders are gang members. And the gangers are nocturnal by nature," she drawled. "Though most of them try to act respectable and get themselves good enough jobs to get by on. Street fighting only supplements their income."
"The kids are usually here. More often than not, they are with their parents getting home schooled since the high, middle, and elementary schools have been turned into refugee camps since I graduated last year," she said, brows furrowing as she glanced around to the four different streets that made up the intersection.
She snorted. "Girl would be an improvement to what I've been called in the past," she sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. "Isedon Miashimi."
