Calyx stared at Maksis. "What about you?" She asked. "Won't you be cold?" She didn't want to be rude or anything, so she accepted the jacket and happily put it on. Boy, was it warm. Way better than her cheap old thin jacket. Another yawn escaped her lips. "Oh, I had to made a last-minute stop at the market," Calyx said quietly. "Err, I'm Calyx, you?" She introduced herseld.

Maksis shrugged as she asked her question about his being cold. "I'll be okay," he replied absentmindedly. He watched as the jacket fit over her thin shoulders and the blood rushed to her face as her warmth returned. He swallowed the dangerous venom that formed in his mouth and dropped his gaze. Now would be the best time to get out of here because for some reason, he did not want to hurt this girl. "Maksis. Maksis Sommers, but you can call me Maks. I've made a quick stop to the market, too and I fear I must be going. The food should really be getting in the fridge," he said, pulling his chair back. He stood graciously and grabbed his bags. "Don't worry about the jacket. You can keep it to get yourself home," he said before turning to go.

Calyx frowned. There was somethign troubling him, she knew. "Well, okay. I got to go, too," She stood up scraping herself on the cheap plastic the table was made of. "Oww.." She whimpered, licking away teh blood that trickled down her arm. "I really apprecieate the jacket, thank-you," Calyx said, pushing in her seat and picking up her bags.

Maksis stiffened as the scent of her blood hit his nose. He closed his eyes and angled his face away from her view as he regained his calm. He forced himself to think calming thoughts and he reopened his eyes, the crimson spreading across the green like wildfire. He reached for her arm and his fingers met the scratch. With a short burst of energy on his part, but on hers, she would not feel, the wound stitched itself and closed. It was a spur of the moment action that caused him to look down in confusion at his hand as he pulled it away from her arm. He cursed to himself in his head as he realized what had just occured.

Along with Maksis's power of the Healing Touch, he has always been a slave to the power. Whenever someone near him was hurt, he felt possessed as his body sought to heal the person wounded. His emotions conflicted especially when he was drinking, causing him even more pain than the emotional pain he went through nightly.

He regained his composure and glanced up at Calyx again. "I-I think I should go now. Be...more careful," he said to her before picking up his bags and exiting the building. He welcomed the fresh air and let the bloodless air wash through his system. He slowed his walk and only hoped the girl wouldn't follow him, but for some reason, part of him wanted the girl to follow him.

Calyx stared, wide-eyes at Maksis. "What..What did you do?" She asked in confusion, gripping her arm to find that it didn't hrut anymore. Not to mention that is was gone all together. She had many questions to ask him, but decided to keep her mouth shut. She looked into Maksis's eyes before he left and stood there, frozen. What was she to do? Most of her wanted to follow him and find out what he had did. W-wait...She said in her mind. soon enough, she found herself following him.

Maksis pulled both of his arms up and rubbed them through his hair while sighing softly, something he did when he was troubled. His extrasensitive hearing heard the soft patter of Calyx's footsteps as she walked out of the grocery store. He glanced behind him and slowed down. It was no use. If she was going to follow him, there would be no point in trying to get away. A quick, flitted thought made him think of lying to her and tell her that it never happened; that she was hallucinating. He quickly shrugged the thought off as his stomach twisted at the thought. Instead, he came to the conclusion that he would answer her questions with evasive answers. That way he would not be lying. He slowed his walk down even more and waited for her to catch up.

Calyx looked at Maksis, apparently, he was waiting for her. She shrugged, running up to him. "Err, hi again," she said nervously, smiling.

Maksis found himself smiling softly as she glanced at him nervously. He towered over her by a couple of inches and he hoped he didn't seem intimidating. "Hello again, Calyx. I said you could keep the jacket," he said softly, his tone a bit teasing. "Really, it's no trouble," he said, stuffing his hands in his pockets. He kept a firm grip on his shirt with his elbows as a sharp gust of wind hit them.

Calyx frowned. "Honestly, I don't know. Thats why I asked you," She answered, crossing her arms. "Healing, perhaps? That's my best guess." She said finally.

Maksis pursed his lips in a thin line before parting them again. Seeing as his question did not help evade her, he found himself letting loose a small bit of truth. "Yes, I healed your arm. I've been able to do that for a while now. Why is it so important to you?" he asked her softly. He dropped his gaze and the ancient sadness that he kept in a ball for so long unfurled. He clenched his fists and squeezed his eyes shut. "Please. It would just be better if you forgot about this..." He said, hesitant to finish his sentence. "And me."

Calyx had to admit, that was pretty cool. But the question is, how'd he do it? "Well, its not I jsut wanted to know..." She said quietly. Her heart skippd a beat. "But..Why? Did I do something?" she asked, taking a step closer. "I can't forget about you, and I bet you know that." shr added.

Calyx whimpered. "Sorry," She said. She watched him back up against the wall as she stepped closer. She frowned. Thats when she noticed how pale he was. He must've got a cold... Calx frowned. "Are you okay?" She asked, changing the subject.

"Because you looked pale...Err, what ever." Calyx answered. "You don't have too--" She started, but he was already reaching for he rbags. She sighed, shrugging. She tucked her hands into her jacket pocket. She hoped they weren't too heavy.

Maksis chuckled softly to himself as he pulled her bag up. "And here I was thinking I was the tannest person in town," he teased lightheartedly. He glanced at her again. "So, where are we off to, Calyx? Unless you don't want me to see where you live," he said, his tone playful.
