((Uhm. Hey. Sorry 'bout all that. Uh. I'm just gonna post a fail now, rsther than continuing to let this rot, so uh. Yeah. :I))
"Right." said Afanasiy, with a note of finality despite the fact that no decisions had been reached. About anything. He was silent for a good while, and the pensive stare he was currently directing at the human before him gave the impression that he was deep in thought, puzzling over some unsolvable conundrum. Absently, he brought one of his own bloodstained and deathly thin fingertips up to his mouth, licking away the crimson drops that had come to settle there from the battle before.
Afanasiy was stuck. He knew how feeble humans were. He feared that, weakened by blood loss as this one was, this one- this Atramentum- might just keel over and die, and then all this would have been for naught. So with that in mind, it seemed clear that the best course of action would be to let him rest a while, perhaps find him some human food and some water. And yet, Afanasiy just could not stand the idea of living (temporary as the arrangement may be) so close to a human encampment. He simply did not trust the creatures. Having been one himself, he knew how quick to make bad decisions they were. Humans' tendency to try to destroy all that was unfamiliar made them more dangerous than some vampires. These particular humans had already proven to Afanasiy beyond a reasonable doubt that they did not care for vampires or for Atramentum. Was it not obvious, then, that the duo should be spending their time either planning a counter-attack (which clearly wasn't going to happen) or at least heading for the hills?
Dammit. I've no skill in decision making. Culpa always took care of this. What am I meant to do when my only two options are clearly bad ones?
Afanasiy blinked, allowing his deep violet eyes to settle on the fragile male. It was in a pitiful state, really. Standing there in a pool of its own blood (which, for the record, was still oozing steadily from its wounds). Atramentum certainly didn't look to be in any state to flee, and yet Afanasiy had to wonder... perhaps the bleeding one was stronger than it looked. After all, it had endured the pain of knives slashing trough its paper-thin skin without so much as a whimper. At any rate, despite how Afanasiy liked to think of them as being nothing more than dumb animals, humans were undeniably sentient, and therefore capable of thinking for themselves. Therefore, Afanasiy would just pose the question to Atramentum. He would get his opinion, and, if it was wrong he would simply ignore it.
"Right," he repeated, his tone reeking of sovereignty and self righteousness. "By your appearance, I can see that you are severely weakened. At the moment, however, I do not believe you are in danger of dying."
Afanasiy strode around to the human's other side, looking him up and down critically, as though Atramentum were nothing more to him than a slab of meat that he may or may not want to purchase. In reality, the very smell of him caused beads of saliva to form at the corners of the vampire's mouth. Even Afanasiy's tongue was pale as it snaked out to moisten his lips. How good that blood smelled...
"What I need to know is whether or not you are capable of making a trip. We would leave immediately. I do not know how far we would need to go, nor how fast. Our other option, the less desirable one to me by far, is that we wait here for you to recuperate. I am... uncomfortable, with this option, primarily because I do not desire by any means to remain in such close proximity to so many of your kind for longer than I have to."
Another pause.
"If you believe that you will be unable to travel as of yet, then you must tell me now, as I may not be able to find shelter for you later on. If we do stay here, we have a tactical advantage provided by the clearing here."
Here, Afanasiy looked directly into the unfocused and half-conscious eyes of the human.
"In short, I am giving you two options. Either we leave or we stay. Choose wisely."
