Hearing Gabriel's words, Jake nodded and called Ember over. Hearing his word, she perked up and immediately set fire to a large log, which she dragged with her teeth over to Gabriel. Luckily, the ground was sandy and didn't catch fire. Pressing the cloth harder against his own wound, which was starting to bleed again from the short walk back, Jake gritted his teeth, mumbling to Arashi, "He's right over there, starting to boil the water."

((He was meant to be back with you two ;v; He carried the water back with the leaf and put it in the rock he'd left with Arashi (since Jake had decided to follow after Gabe) but maybe that wasn't really clear??))

"He is? Starting to boil it?" Arashi responded, relieved and nervous at the same time. Had Jake simply dunked the bandages in the flowing water before using them to tend him? Relax, the rivers in these parts are known for having clean, healthy water - why else would they let so many teenagers fend for themselves here? Still, I can't help worrying... At least Gabriel's alright, and Jake doesn't seem to have aggravated his injury too much. I mustn't seem ungrateful - these bandages are really providing relief. "I hope that you haven't hurt yourself overmuch to do this. I appreciate you extending yourself in this way in order to help me, but I'd rather you didn't hurt yourself for my sake."

Nodding, Jake replied "It was nothing. But the water did feel nice, though. If you think you can manage the 20 feet to it, it should help ease the pain." Pressing a hand against his still bleeding wound, Jake shifted the soaked rags, crimson blood blossoming and staining the white a dark pink.

Gabriel watched the rock for a little bit before he turned to look out into the forest, rubbing his arm a bit before he decided to get up and walk over to the little Teddiursa, gently lifting the poor thing into his arms and then returning to his place by the stone, waiting on the water. As he waited he gently stroked the small bear pokemon's back, hoping to soothe the poor little thing. "Don't worry," he said softly, smiling gently. "We're going to help your mother and then you two can go back to the forest together," he said softly.

Jake smiled at Gabriel's interaction to the little bear. Shifting his weight again, he pressed the bloody bandages closer to the long rip in his skin, gritting his teeth before turning to Arashi. The other boy was sitting next to him, and Jake could see spider webs of crimson blooming on the other side of his bandages. Flipping it so as to expose the clean side to Arashi's injury, he pressed lightly against it, hoping it wouldn't pain Arashi.

"Perhaps I will try in a little while..." Arashi agreed, considering the distance and mentally weighing it against the pain and tension his back contained. "It looks as though Gabriel is doing well. I was a little concerned that he might be nervous of the Teddiursa, after what happened with the little one's mother." He added, his gaze shifting from the meeker teen back towards Jake, watching as he approached. "Are you sure you are alright for moving that much?" He asked, wincing as his bandages were flipped over. "Tch..." It had hurt a little, but not enough that he would complain - after all, he would rather be assisted than be left to deal with it himself, with an injury he couldn't see. He was kind of uncomfortable with the feeling of being reliant on another, as he was more used to being solitary, but he knew that this was the best approach, and he appreciated the help. "My thanks."

Gabriel continued to gently stroke the tiny bear pokemon's back before he let out a soft sigh and looked over at his friends. "Should we wait a little bit longer to release the Ursaring or should we go ahead and let her out and treat her burns?" he questioned, unsure what they should do right now. The Teddiursa in his arms had begun to doze off by then, however, seeming comforted by the gentle affections and warmth Gabriel provided.

Arashi considered Gabriel's query, weighing up the possibilities in his mind as he pondered which would be the safest for all involved. "Sooner would be better than later, to reduce the buildup of anxiety in the mother, but I would recommend that we have all allied Pokemon ready to aid us in the event that things go wrong. After all, we did take injuries when we encountered her previously, but we were not prepared for that encounter." He answered slowly, glancing across at the faces of his friends to see what they thought. "I do not know what Jake would advise, however. What say you?"

Jake weighed the decisions carefully in his mind. Unused to this, as he usually would have not thought of the consequences, he had to think it over long and hard before replying, "Personally, I agree with the idea of sooner rather than later.  However, I think we should let our wounds heal more before risking our lives again." He turned to Spark and absentmindedly ran his fingers through the short, soft, statically charged fur of the little Elekid's head.

Gabriel nodded slightly, glancing down at the sleeping Teddiursa in his arms before he gave a gentle sigh and moved to lean back against his tree, his Pokemon immediatley moving to lay alongside him. "Today sure has been eventful," he mused quietly. "And since we were in such a panic I'm not really completely sure where our camp is since I couldn't take the time to check what we passed," he murmured, tilting his head a little bit. "I also really hope Momma Ursaring won't get mad over smelling my scent on this poor little Teddiursa..."

"Indeed." Arashi agreed, both with Jake's assessment that it would be best not to attain more injuries before they'd done at least a little healing, and with Gabriel's summation that their day had been eventful. "I'm afraid I won't be much use, directionally - my sense of direction is rather poor." He added ruefully, stroking Hada's feathers, while Sky looked as though about to pounce playfully at Spark. "Perhaps if the Teddiursa takes a bath beforehand? That could help, I think." He added, when the issue of scent was brought up. "I'm sure we could also find some fragrant herbs as well, if need be."

Jake nodded his agreement with the idea of bathing the teddiursa, before attempting to stand. His gash was just starting to scab over, and he didn't want to break it open again. Bending down slowly to grab a large pine branch, he walked over to a place in the granite that curved in drastically, a sort of half cave, and braced the branch so as to form a lean to against the boulder.

Gabriel moved to stand up when  Got up and started moving, letting out a startled noise. "You shouldn't be moving so much!" he protested, moving over and gently shifting the little Teddiursa so he could lightly grab the other's arm. "Tell me what to do and I'll do it," h insisted, frowning. "Your wounds can't heal very well if you keep reopening them after all..."

Grabbing Gabriel's arm to steady himself, Jake shook his head. "No, I can do this. But help would be appreciated, if you are able to help. Just grab branches and lean them up against this boulder. Weave smaller branches in, and gather moss to insulate and pad the outside and inside." He scooped up an armful of dry, dead, but soft pine needles and shoveled them inside the depression in the earth, creating a sort of nest big enough for the three of them and their Pokemon to be comfortable. Wincing as he bent and cracked his scab yet again, he leaned up against the boulder for a moment before bending down despite the pain for more pine needles.

Gabriel shook his head, grip on the other's arm tightening a little bit. "Jake, you're just going to end up making your wounds worse if you don't rest," he said firmly, this being his first change in tone away from softer and friendlier tones since they had come to the forest. "You can't heal if you just keep straining your wounds when they begin. Go sit down and let me do this, okay?" He gently shifted the little Teddiursa in his arms, holding it out for Jake to take. "I can do this, I'm not hurt like you and Arashi are. Please let me do this so you can relax and let your wounds start to heal."

Also concerned for the other, Arashi nodded his agreement. "Please, Jake, do not cause yourself further injury - it will take longer to heal if you aggravate it." He implored, worried that his friend would do himself damage by pushing himself in this way. "I appreciate what you're trying to do, and I'm sure that Gabriel does as well, but I would really much rather you didn't do yourself harm in the process of trying to help us." He added, his agitation causing Hada to flutter and fuss, while Sky jumped at the Jake's Pokemon happily, in a little world of her own.

((Hope this isn't too short.))

Jake  nodded, resigning and admitting to defeat. Taking the little teddiursa in his arms, he stumbled a few paces away, slumped against the face of the smooth granite, sliding to the base and whistling a short tune to call his Pokemon. Spark, Shade, and Ember bounded over, Sky following them, and he pulled them close, Sky and the teddiursa included. Whispering an embarrassed thanks and apology to Gabriel, he sighed as he adjusted his bloody bandage yet another time.

Gabriel relaxed immensely when Jake resigned defeat, sighing gently and offering a rather worn smile. "Thank you," he said softly before he moved to continue what Jake had been doing, his own Pokemon moving to join Arashi and Jake since they were injured and Gabriel was busy. He didn't have to take too awful long since he'd both been watching Jake and listening to what he'd been told to grab, so when he was done he took a step back and looked back at Arashi and Jake. "Is this alright?" he questioned gently.
