((If people don't want to abandon this one, we could keep it going on the side. Also, either level 5 or level 10, not sure which)) Arashi nodded, quite content. There were many things in life that required patience and, if this was one of them, he could accept that. "Is anyone else hungry? I don't know about you two, but I think that Spark had the right idea. We could eat as we walk." He suggested, hoping that his idea would not be shot down. He didn't think it ill-advised, but in a team of three it was possible to be overruled.

Gabriel nodded slightly. "Going ahead and eating something sounds like a good idea to me," he responded, looking back at the others. "We can use the berries around our camping area to stockpile for other days. They should last us a decent amount of time before we'd have to venture too far to find more."

Arashi, pleased by the reception the idea had garnered thus far, grinned slightly and began to munch on some of the berries he'd gathered. He occasionally offered one up to Hada, but the little Pokemon had a small stomach, and was thus less difficult to satisfy than a human. Apparently catching the drift of the conversation, Hada swooped over to another bush, trilling to the other trained Pokemon. The Natu was fairly sure that these berries were safe for him to eat, but he wanted a second opinion before he recommended them to his human - and their humans, of course.

Cynder fluttered over to Hada to flit around the berry bush, taking a few moments before she chiprped and landed by the bush to peck at one, wings folding against her back to show she trusted the berries as well. Gabriel wandered over to start picking a few, smiling down at the little birds. He turned to start putting the berries into a pocket of his pack, humming softly under his breath. This could work, actually. This could possibly work very well.

Arashi joined Gabriel in his berry-picking endeavour, reassured by the actions of the avian Pokemon. He trusted their judgement, and the berries didn't appear to be on any danger list he'd read, so they were likely safe. They were being watched, from somewhere in the undergrowth, by something small with wide yellow eyes. The creature the eyes belonged to wanted to eat berries as well, but was afraid of the newcomers. Torn by indecision, the young Pokemon keened softly to itself in worry. It had gotten separated from its family group, and was not in its home range. Mostly, it was chased away by bigger individuals here, so it was pretty hungry.

Hearing the sound Gabriel blinked, then picked a few berries to gently, and fairly slowly, settle them in front of the little creature. "Here," he said quietly, puling his hand back. "Sorry if we scared you," he murmured gently. He glanced to Arashi, then back at the creature, wondering if them getting up, which would have them towering over the creature, would end up startling it more. So, instead, he shifted into a position where he was a bit lower to the ground, offering a friendly smile and blinking as Cynder fluttered up to end up nestled in his hair.

Looking at the pokemon in the bush, Jake knelt down and stared straight into it's yellow eyes, his green eyes seeming to say "It's ok. You can come out now." He stood and walked a few paces back, Turning away and looking down at the pokeball with the vulpix inside. Cautiously pressing the button, the vulpix came out and looked at him with wide, uncertain, and strangely blue eyes before stepping closer to him and nuzzling his outstretched hand. Grinning, Jake pet the vulpix with one hand and withdrew his pokedex from his bag. He scanned the vulpix, and upon finding that it was female, decided to name her Ember. He turned back to the others, letting them see his new pokemon.

Arashi, who had experience with Pokemon on his parent's ranch, gave Gabriel a slight nod - as far as he could make out, this was the best method. He couldn't be certain of Jake's approach without knowing what type of Pokemon it was, but demonstrating his friendliness with another Pokemon of similar size was admittedly inspired. Tentatively, a small light blue furred paw extended out towards the berries, hovering a moment as though to see whether any reprisal was forthcoming. As the berries were just beyond its easy reach, the little feline began easing its way out. The hungry Pokemon had a round face, framed by large ears, and was readily identifiable as a Shinx, though it was paler than average. It glanced anxiously at each of them in turn, and meeped cautiously at the Vulpix, seeking reassurance.

Gabriel tilted his head slightly as calmed himself down, glancing back towards where Jake was to see if the little Vulpix would be able to help in this endeavor. Another Electric-type could prove useful, and if this poor little thing was getting bullied out of food then they could help feed the poor creature.
Almost as if she wanted to help, Cynder let out a soft series of chitters, nestling further into her Trainer's hair. She was, of course, perfectly relaxed. Gabriel wouldn't b able to bring himself to hurt anything if he could avoid it, so she had absolutely nothing to be afraid of.

Jake watched as curiously Spark made his way over, followed by Ember. The shinx growled at first, but seemed to know the vulpix and nuzzled up to it, purring. Jake looked over at the others, surprised. Spark stepped closer. "Kidd?" "Shinxxx..." The shinx meowed(do shinx meow?) uncertainly, before sniffing the Elekid and deciding he was safe. Jake lokked over at the othrs. "This is for one of you," he said, smiling.

Gabriel gently chewed his bottom lip and looked over to Arashi. "Arashi, do you mind if I try to catch it?" he asked, wanting to make sure it was alright. If not that was perfectly fine, but he didn't want to end up upsetting one of his partners by catching a pokemon they wanted without verifying that it was alright first.

The little Shinx seemed reassured and soothed by the responses of the other Pokemon, and the non-aggression of the humans in the group, and settled into eating the berries with a voracious appetite. Arashi was startled by Gabriel's query, but after a moment he realised that the fellow probably wanted to check whether he wanted to catch the Shinx himself. "I don't mind at all, feel free to do as you see fit." He responded, curious as to how the more timid of the three would act in this situation. It would be good to see how he interacted with a Pokemon that hadn't been prepared for life with a trainer, and he felt that Gabriel would probably be a better choice for the Shinx than remaining a loner anyway.

Gabriel seemed to perk up a little bit and nodded, turning slightly so he could move closer a little bit. He took a few of the berries out of his pack to hold them out towards the little shinx, his green eyes soft. The small pokemon hesitated, a few nervous sparks jolting across his fur before he hesitantly began to edge forward, sniffing at the berries before he took one and backed up to gently start chewing on it.
Deeming it safe, he ate the rest of the berry and looked up at Gabriel with wide eyes, slowly inching forward before taking a berry and staying where he was. The light blue Shinx jumped when a pokeball was brought out to be set in front of him, but afterwards Gabriel pulled his arm back.
"If you'd like to come with us I'd love to be able to be your trainer," Gabriel said softly. Cynder chirped quietly from her place atop her trainer's head. The Shinx tilted his head slightly before hesitantly stepping towards the ball. After giving it a brief sniff he butted his head against it and was sucked inside, the pokeball shaking briefly before a soft 'ping' alerted him tot he fact that the creature had been caught.
Gabriel grinned and immediately release the Shinx from his pokeball, scanning him to properly determine his gender before offering the rest of the berries, the little creature seeming to almost spark happily.
"I'll name you Bolt."

Arashi was both pleased and reassured by Gabriel's choice of action, as it clearly showed that he took the Pokemon's choice into account - as well as providing an incentive rather than trying to win the Shinx over by force of personality, not that he'd have thought that of Gabriel. "Welcome to the group, Bolt." He murmured, wishing to convey his own position on the matter to the diminutive feline without being imposing. "None of us mean you harm, and you will be provided for and valued. You are no longer alone." Had his confidence in Gabriel - and Jake as well, considering his actions - not been boosted, he would not necessarily have made such a blanket statement, though he would have offered reassurance nonetheless. The light was still present, but beginning to grow less potent, as it drew towards evening. Arashi didn't know how close they were to Gabriel's spot, but they'd been walking for a while, so he thought it was probably somewhere close. If they were reasonably swift, they could probably be set up before the sun set.

Ember romped happily with Bolt, Spark watching the two of them happily. "Nice catch!" Jake said to Gabriel, laughing as Ember and Bolt wrestled in the grass. He pulled Spark closer to him and hugged the electric pokemon. Ember stopped playing and came over to Jake, begging for cuddles as well. At first Jake didn't notice the vulpix, but after a vulpix jumps into your lap and starts licking your face, its pretty hard to ignore them. As he petted the foxlike pokemon, he noticed something. "That's strange..." he said, looking over at the others, "She seems to have a moon-shaped white mark on her hind leg."

Gabriel stepped forward to gently pick up the little Shinx, who let out an almost happy little sound as he nestled into Gabriel's arms. "We should almost be tot he area I was talking about earlier," he said gently as he started forward, glancing back at Jake. "That is pretty...unique, certainly," he responded. Very unique indeed.
But they needed to get shelter as soon as possible, just in case. He started forward again, only needing to walk a couple more minutes before he pushed away some foliage to show a clear area big enough to make a tent of sorts and to fit their sleeping bags. They could set up areas specific to certain tasks and go from there.
"Is...this okay with you two?"

"Yeah, I'm exhausted. That looks great, good job Gabriel." Jake said, Ember and Spark following him closely into the clearing. He grabbed a large branch from the ground and began propping it up between the crooks of two trees. Bending over again, he pulled up more branches and turned to the others. "Do you think you guys can help me gather more branches?" he asked the others. "I should be able to make some sort of lean-to from this if we have enough."

"Markings as specific as that are remarkable, but it isn't too unusual for Pokemon to have some - think of them as like birthmarks on humans." Arashi responded, both fascinated by the markings and pleased to have an opportunity to use knowledge gained from living among Pokemon and having Breeders for parents. It wasn't that he was a show off, but he did want to establish himself within the group as being knowledgeable and therefore useful.
"This place does look pretty good, thank you Gabriel." He added, smiling. So far, this was going pretty well. Casting about, he began to look for handy limbs of wood, picking up any he felt would be useful. Once they'd got the wood in place, they'd probably want to cover it in leaves, so he looked for those as well. "Do we have any water-proof sheets in our supplies?"

"No, I don't think so," responded Jake, "But if we find moss than then that will work as insulate as well as a water guard." He propped up the branches, pleased that he had found a big enough branch to cover them all, although it would be slightly crowded.

((Gotta go, it's getting late where I am.))
Arashi, satisfied by this response, went back to searching for appropriate resources - now including moss in his search. He wondered briefly whether Jake had been or still was a scout, but didn't feel the need to ask.
