Gabriel blinked and reached out to stop Jake, only to be late and end up watching him wander out into the rain. "Jake it's still raining," he called out, brows furrowing slightly. "We can't cook in the rain and you could get sick if you get too wet." Then he looked to Arashi again, offering a smile. "Oh, uh, and thanks for...the offer of helping me too. I really appreciate it."

Ducking back out of the wetness, Jake groaned and stepped back inside. He shook his already soaked body, drops of water spraying over Shade, who yelped and jumped backwards. Settling back on the moss cross-legged, he took Spark and Shade back into his arms, curling his now shivering body around the wriggling pokemon.

Gabriel let out a quiet chuckle and shifted slightly to gently lift up Ember, offering her back to Jake. "I think you might need her more than I do right now," he told him gently. "Once the rain stops we can go gather what we need to make some food and then we can get the fire pit dried out...assuming it isn't full of water as we speak." He rubbed his arm a bit. That could be an issue.

Gratefully accepting Ember from Gabriel, Jake huddled up closer to the vulpine creature. Her flames warmed him, and he stretched out on the ground to absorb the full effects of her fire. Propping himself up on one elbow, he stared at the others, holding back a laugh. "Maybe going out in the rain wasn't such a good idea..." he speculated out loud, grinning and putting his face in his palm. Shade curled up beside him, whining and licking Jake's hands to make sure he was alright. Pushing Shade away from his face, he lifted Spark up an set him down on the other side of himself, creating a soft nest in the moss beside him for Ember, Shade, and Spark.

"You are most welcome." Arashi assured Gabriel, a half-smile quirking across his features as he contemplated Jake's hasty actions. "Welcome back, O Sodden One." He grinned at the individual in question, lightly teasing. "By the way, I've read that it's better to take your clothes off when they're soaked than to wear them for too long - you could get ill. I have some basic spares you could change into, if you like. We aren't precisely the same size, but they would do." Hada chirped in amusement, nodding as though he knew and understood everything that was going on.

Gabriel let out a quiet giggle at Arashi's comment, nodding in response to what he saw. "Ad if need be we have more than enough bodies here for body heat," he added, readjusting himself as he nestled himself into the fur-and-feather pile he currently had going on in his arms with Bolt, Nyte, and Cynder. "O-oh, I was also thinking that we should probably try to get some battling out of the way at some point, so we aren't caught unaware. Changing weather here in the forest can force some pokemon out of their normal areas."

Laughing and lightly punching Arashi in the arm playfully at his comment, Jake stripped off his soggy shirt, wincing at first in cold as it clung to his sides and pulled free, but then sighed in pleasure at the heat in direct contact with his skin. Nodding at Gabriel's point about the battles, he shifted to an upright position, holding Ember close for warmth.

Arashi was mildly baffled by the light arm-punch, until he recalled seeing some other youths acting in such a way - camaraderie perhaps? Well, it was something to think about, he mused as he dug out the spare clothing he'd mentioned and passed it over to Jake. He, too, agreed that Gabriel probably had a point about the battles - but those could wait until the rain was gone. Speaking of the rain, it was due to remain for only twenty minutes more, as the wind propelling the rainclouds had picked up the pace.

Jake gratefully accepted the clothing and pulled the shirt over his head, taking his pants off and pulling Arashi's on over his dry boxers. The shirt fit fine, but the pants were a little bit short. Oh well, clothing was clothing. He hung up the sodden clothing, looping it through the branches of the shelter. Jake handed Ember back to Gabriel, finally warm.

Gabriel moved to gently take hold of Ember, letting her nestle in with Nyte, Bolt, and Cynder before he careully curled around them. He seemed almost protective of the little Pokemon, and in truth he was. He didn't want to see any Pokemon hurt, but he knew it was the only way for them to grow stronger.

Eventually, the rain was gone, and clear skies prevailed, showering the forest below with light. It was late afternoon to early evening, difficult to tell precisely without a watch, but there was still light in the sky. For some reason, there seemed to be an air of contentment and relief in the atmosphere that there hadn't been before the rain. It was subtle, but present. Subtle, that is, right up until looking outside. Many and various Pokemon had emerged from their hiding places after the rain, more than had been outside while it was dry, and they appeared cheerful. "Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Arashi asked Gabriel softly, as one mind-oriented student to another. He had no disrespect for Jake by now, but he still automatically saw Gabriel as more similar to himself.

Gabriel edged forward with Arashi, gently releasing the pokemon he'd had bundled up in his arms so they could keep him from falling over. He smiled a bit, looking out at the Pokemon rather gleefully. "Wow," he said gently, tucking his legs beneath him. "I'm pretty sure I am, and it's pretty incredible," he responded quietly. He was immediately content to simply sit right where he was and watch the pokemon around them, bright green eyes wide and curious.

Jake nodded, eyes widening at the sight. Making a move to get up, he ducked his head out and stepped off of the mossy bedding of the tent and onto the muddy ground of the clearing. A Politoed bounced happily in the mud beside a Grumpig, and a snubbull nosed around the bushes for berries. A teddiursa stuffed berries into it's mouth, competing with a pidgey and bidoof for who could eat the most. Jake turned back excitedly, gesturing for the others to come out and see the sight for themselves.

"Indeed." Arashi breathed, not quite comprehending what he was seeing. He was sure that many of these Pokemon must be able to detect their presence, but they just didn't seem to care. One Aipom even gave them a jaunty wave, before doing some acrobatics. It was almost as though they were all too happy to care that there were humans in their midst. Even the Fire types with vulnerable flames seemed cheery, for all that they took care to keep their burning parts away from the moisture. "I have not seen such behaviour from wild Pokemon before. What could this mean?"

"I...really feel like this...isn't something most people get to see," Gabriel whispered gently as he gently lifted his hand to pet Bolt when his hand was nudged, his bright eyes still wide and curious. "I wish I had something to record this with so I can believe it when remembering it," he said gently, completely and utterly fascinated.

"I think you might be right." Arashi responded softly, not taking his eyes off the spectacle before them. "Even if we can't record it, there's more than one of us seeing this, so at least there'll be someone who'll know it happened." He added, as Hada hopped out into the open. The Natu was perplexed as well, and was intent upon chirping queries to whatever Pokemon would listen.

Jake couldn't speak, but watched in awe as Spark, Shade, and Ember bounded out and began to play with the other pokemon. The air was damp and cool against his dry skin, but the sun was rapidly unhooding itself and beams of light streaked down into the clearing, creating a shimmer of faint colors on the rising mist. Smiling, Jake pointed up at the rainbow above their heads that spanned the whole width of sky.

Gabriel moved his arm to let his Pokemon start wandering out as well, though Bolt stayed close, pressed up against him. He reached back down to run his fingers across his fur, smiling a bit at the already-familiar feeling o his sparks against his fingertips. "I think we should let these Pokemon enjoy themselves without battling them or trying to catch them unless they approach us first," he said quietly. "They're just...so at ease..."

When Jake moved his arm, Arashi looked up in the direction indicated and smiled. The rainbow was exquisite, and it fit so well with the air of tranquil relaxation of the moment. "I agree, it wouldn't be sporting to disturb their reverie - it would be rather rude, really. They don't even seem to care that we're here. I hope they won't panic if we move, though." He answered, while Hada exchanged chitters and gestures with a Pidgey, apparently deep in conversation.

Finding his voice, Jake replied, "Yes," as he watched Shade and Ember romp and wrestle with a growlithe and Spark chitter something softly to the teddiursa and snubbull. Stepping farther out to the center of the clearing, he knelt down on one knee on the sodden ground, holding out a hand to the growlithe and laughing a s the pup snuffled his hand.
