Gabriel hesitated before he edged out of the tent of sorts, Bolt crawling into his lap and nudging his head under his hand as the both of them watched Nyte and Cynder practically frolic among the other pokemon. It was rather endearing and adorable, actually. Then he looked down at Bolt and tilted his head slightly. "Do you not want to go play too" he asked gently, the answer he received essentially being Bolt nestling closer and basically demanding more affection from his adopted 'momma'.

The Growlithe, a playful sort, responded to Jake by giving him an enthusiastic licking. While not all unevolved Pokemon were juveniles, this one was definitely a puppy. Arashi, noticing the amusing and cute interactions - and that none of the Pokemon seemed to be fleeing, sidled out as well. "That is rather endearing." He commented to Gabriel, noticing Bolt's behaviour. "Perhaps he'd like to play a game with you?" Hada, despite the merry air, was beginning to look somewhat worried, and kept glancing around nervously, but the Pidgey chirped assurances to him, and offered him some berries.

Jake's eyes widened as he realized that this would be an ideal opportunity to catch pokemon. Digging in his small bag, his hand found the smooth spheroid of a pokeball. The teddiursa came over to investigate with the growlithe, but as he drew his hand out of the bag, a tremendous roaring came from his left. Spinning around, he was just in time to see the enormous head and paws of and ursarang crash through the trees. Standing quickly, he called Shade, Spark, and Ember back to him and beckoned for the others to do the same and follow him. The ursarang lunged forwards at Gabriel, jaws snapping inches away from the terrified teen's face before Jake sprang recklessly onto the bear pokemon's back, distracting the roaring mouth away from the other boy for a second. It didn't last long, though. Flipping Jake over it's back, the ursarang slammed him onto the hard packed ground, knocking the wind out of him and opening a gash on his muscular stomach from the sheer force of the throw. Attempting unsuccessfully wiping the blood away, he pushed himself up and yelled "Run!" to the others before collapsing from a large paw strike.

Gabriel practically stopped breathing when the Ursaring's jaws were clamping shut inches in front of his face, his serene ex pression gone and replaced with one of absolute terror. He trembled lightly, completely frozen in place until he heard Jake shout. He jolted out of his stunned stupor and was about to jump up when Bolt jumped from his arms, heading towards the Ursaring. His body began to spark more than it already did, the little Shinx using Charge before leaping onto the bear and pouring out all of his electricity into a Thunder Fang.
Gabriel let out an almost strangled-sounding shout as he tried to lunge forward and stop the small Pokemon, but he wasn't quick enough and he managed to leap into the fray, followed by Nyte running up and performing another Thunder Fang to aid Bolt. Cynder, without any special elemental moves, fluttered up into the air with a tackle as Gabriel scrambled to retrieve his precious Pokemon's pokeballs. He needed to recall them, he had to keep them safe!
Where were those damned pokeballs?
His hands were shaking and tears had long since welled up in his eyes as he desperately searched for the only things that could save his Pokemon.
And then he realized it was getting harder for him to breathe. All of the terror and excitement had agitated his asthma and now he didn't know what to do. He couldn't run, couldn't leave all of these people behind, so he did what was possibly the most reckless thing he could possibly do and ran forward to stand in front of Jake, his breathing rough and uneven.
"Stop!" He shouted as loud as he possibly could, voice practically nothing but raw emotion. "Stop, please, we're not here to hurt you or any of the other Pokemon!" He recalled his pokemon, since he'd found them before he dashed over, and sank to the ground, to his knees. "Please, Ursaring..."
He reached up towards the bear, his ex pression scared and almost innocent, reminiscent of a young, frightened Pokemon, as his tears finally started rolling down his cheeks. His breathing was still rough and getting harder, but that was another problem entirely. He had to keep his friends safe. All of them.

Struggling to draw in a breath, Jake snarled in frustration at Gabriel. "Go! Just get out while you can!" Turning back to the enormous pokemon and rolling away as it lunged again at him, he winced as his wound got covered in rubble. Jake curled up in raw pain as he tried to stand to face the beast, holding back the tears that stung his eyes as he drew in an agonizing breath. Seeing Gabriel not moving, he shoved him away into the trees before the ursarang's large claws swiped the place he had been only seconds before. Wiping the gravel out of the large but shallow wound covering the front left side of his abs, he ran, grabbing Gabriel's hand and hurrying him farther into the woods.

Gabriel let out a shout as he was shoved into the trees, panicking and trying to get back out, then struggling lightly against Jake's hold on him. "What about Arashi?" he asked, struggling to keep up with Jake. His energy was pretty bottomed out and all of this wasn't helping the fact that he could already barely breathe. He ended up pulling away from Jake to practically collapse, trembling lightly as he struggled to try and calm his breathing. "A-asthma..." he whimpered softly, squeezing his eyes shut.

Looking desperately around for Arashi, Jake spotted him in the trees a little ways away. Beckoning to him, he picked Gabriel up in his arms and ran, whispering "It's alright. Just calm down, and breathe. Just breathe." Sighing in relief as the crashing behind him faded, Jake collapsed behind a large boulder and set Gabriel down.

Arashi had been taken aback by the sudden interruption of the reverie they'd all been enjoying, and his first impulse had been to dart to Hada's side and scoop him up. Sky, he already had close, but Hada had been at risk of being trampled, having been to shocked to get his wings working quickly, and being knocked into by other Pokemon trying to get away.
He'd no sooner grasped the little Natu than he heard Gabriel trying to calm the large rampaging Pokemon down. Glancing over in panic, Arashi had seen that the Ursaring's back bore fresh burns, and there was a Teddiursa nearby that recognised her. Drat - both a protective mother, and an injured Pokemon. That wasn't good. It was so far from being good that he had to say, it was very bad. "She won't listen to you!" He called out to Gabe frantically, "She's hurt and trying to protect her baby! Listen to Jake!"
It was with relief that he saw Jake tug Gabriel out of the line of fire, and he hurried to follow. The maddened Ursaring took a swipe at him, too, leaving deep scratches on his back, but he put on a burst of speed in order to get away. He stopped, panting, as soon as he no longer heard her behind him, and he looked up to see Jake beckoning him, and Gabriel on the ground. Eyes widening, he hurried over.
The crashing had started again, and Arashi ran with Jake - who was carrying Gabriel - until it stopped again, trying to be ready to help his friends with their predicament if he was needed to. When they finally came to a halt, Arashi sat down and scooped Gabriel nearer, so as to check up on his status. He was worried about Jake as well, but he wasn't the one who'd had to be carried.

Gabriel was still trembling, his breathing uneven and labored as he huddled up against the rock. It had been so long since he'd had any form of asthma attack that he'd assumed he'd grown out of them and only had slight breathing problems left. But now here he was, struggling to breathe and not sure what he should do without an inhaler to help. "W-what...d-do I do?" he whimpered, quite obviously terrified. "I-I don't...h-have my...my inhaler...."

Arashi cursed under his breath, realising that the damp weather earlier would not have helped Gabriel's condition, and he trawled through his brain to figure out what to do. Eliminate sources of dust. He thought frantically, and urged Gabriel to recall Bolt, just in case, while he did the same with Hada. Arashi had never had to deal with asthma before, so he felt somewhat out of his depth, but he couldn't just let his friend suffer because he didn't know what to do.
Gently lifting Gabriel into a sitting position, so that he would have a more solid column of air, and not have his mouth and nose so close to the forest floor - from which he could inhale particulates that might make matters worse - Arashi patted Gabe on the arm in what he hoped was a reassuring way. "Calm down, please, it might make it easier for you to breathe." He urged, taking his friend's hand in his. "If you can, try to follow my breathing. If you can't, squeeze my hand so I'll know at once, and I'll try something else." He continued, keeping his voice soft, low and level, as he would if Gabriel were one of the injured Pokemon down at the ranch. Arashi breathed deeply and obviously, performing a breathing exercise that he sometimes used to calm himself down. Even if it didn't help Gabe, it might soothe him enough to have steady breathing for plan C, if that were needed.

((Bolt was already recalled uvu'))
Gabriel nodded slowly, looking up at Arashi and trying to focus on mimicking how he was breathing. He tried to calm himself down, tried really hard, but it was a lot easier said than done. He swallowed a bit of saliva down before he tried to breathe through his nose. This breathing exercise seemed to help a lot, and as his breathing came easier Gabriel began to visibly calm down. It wasn't perfect, but it helped.

((Arashi didn't notice, he just thought he couldn't see Bolt.))
Arashi was considerably relieved that he was actually managing to do some good for Gabriel, as he wasn't sure how well his backup plan would have worked. Thinking about that option, which happened to be mouth-to-mouth breathing, he turned a little bit more pink. It was mostly concealed by the flush that had come from their frantic run, though. After a while, he figured that Gabriel had probably stabilised enough to be out of danger, and he gave him what he hoped was a reassuring pat on the shoulder, not sure what to say.

((Oh okay XD My apologies then uvu))
Gabriel, upon having calmed down enough, looked up at Arashi and offered a tiny smile. "Th-thanks," he murmured softly before he looked up and over at Jake rather worriedly. "I-I'm okay now, I think, but...Jake's still pretty hurt," he said softly. "And we're out of a campground for the time being..."

((No worries, I should have made it clear.))
Arashi was heartened by the little smile, and by the assurance that Gabriel was feeling better, and he gave Gabe a lopsided grin in return. "You're right - that Ursaring got his front good. Got my back, too, for that matter. I suppose we'll have to see if there's anything medicinal around. If we have anything to boil water in, that would be useful for cleaning up our injuries."

Jake watched in relief as Gabriel's chest rose and fell in normal breaths. Sitting down beside him, he winced and slumped against the wall, gritting his teeth so as not to scream with the pain. His calves burned, but they were safe. For now. Realizing their plight, he pointed out the fact that they had no shelter now, and were lost.

Gabriel sighed gently before he lowered his hand to gently brush his fingers along the pokeballs of his pokemon, glancing down. "Um, well, if need be I can go find some stuff to make another makeshift shelter, maybe even a way to boil water for you two since you're injured," he said softly, rubbing his arm a bit. He wasn't too terribly excited about having to head out without one of those two with him now, but they were both hurt and it'd be selfish of him to request one of them came with him.

"It would be most appreciated." Arashi agreed, but he noticed that Gabriel seemed apprehensive. He couldn't blame him, really, not after that encounter. Truth to tell, he wasn't sure whether he'd be okay to accompany Gabe, for all that he felt that someone ought. He couldn't see his injury to know how serious it was, and he felt stiff and cramped. Perhaps there was an alternative? Clearly, Jake was not in any fit state to be rambling, so he wasn't an option, but what about Hada and Sky? "If you would like, you can borrow my team." He offered, extending a hand to pass over the balls. "Hada could keep watch over you from the air, and Sky could help you to feel better - after all, she's rather sweet."

Gabriel smiled at the offer before he shook his head slightly. "As much as I'd love to take them with me, you could end up needing them more," he responded softly, moving to release his own pokemon. He reached out to gently pick up Bolt, hugging him close as Nyte nestled up to him and Cynder landed on his shoulder, feathers puffed out. "I..I should be okay with these three. I really do appreciate your offer though, Arashi," he told him gently, smiling before he stood up. "I, um. I guess I'll be back soon," he said, smiling sheepishly before he looked around to make note of the area, then turned to start off into the trees, Cynder taking off to fly above.

"I suppose you might be right." Arashi responded, retracting his hand. It was good to see that Gabriel was smiling now - that gave hope that he'd be okay. "I wish you luck." He added, giving Gabe a lopsided smile of his own. He didn't want to admit it, but he'd completely forgotten how many Pokemon in their group were affiliated with Gabe, and he was somewhat embarrassed. Nonetheless, he felt better about letting him go off now that he knew that it would hardly be without protection.

Watching Gabriel go off to find healing supplies, Jake drifted off into the bleak grey of a dreamless sleep.
