Okami felt so light headed. The power faded away from him, and his white markings stopped glowing. Ti started pouring down thick sheets of rain, drenching his pelt and plastering his fur to his side. He was panting heavily. He collapsed to the ground. Nibui padded up next to Okami, but the black MoonPack wolf just growled at him, warning him to keep away. Nibui huffed, then went up to check on Maka. "Maka, are you alright?" the red wolf asked. "You did incredible. Don't worry about Adoph. He proved to be a real... erm... let's just say.... pain in the neck?"

Maka looked at Nibui and smiled. "Let's go home...ok?", she smiled, nuzzled Nibui's neck and thanked him for fighting with them. She padded over to Okami and licked his muzzle. "You did great love...let's go home", she whined and helped him up. The rain continued to pour down from the sky and made her fur very thick on her body. She continued to lick Okami and then she sat back on her haunches. She began to get dizzy and suddenly she passed out.

"Maka!" Okami and Nibui shouted out loud together, and rushed to the she-wolf. Nibui shoved Okami out of the way, and the black wolf went tumbling down in the mud. Nibui sniffed Maka, and sighed in relief. Not dead, he though. He licked Maka between the ears and pushed her upon his back. "I think I can see a shelter over there!" he growled to Okami, and bounded off carefully, cautious not to harm the she-wolf any further.
Okami muttered something as he got up and shook his fur, trying to get the sticky mud out. He howled before following Nibui closely behind. He caught up to Nibui at the mouth of another narrow mountain cave. Luckily, it was big enough for all three of them to camp out comfortably in. "Nibui, go find moss and other stuff like that to make nests. I'll stay here with Maka." the wolf said. Nibui shook his head, and the two wolves began debating for a while, until Okami finally gave up and went to go search for moss and feathers and other soft things by himself.
Nibui nuzzled Maka and curled up around the fainted she-wolf. He rested his head on Maka's back, his eyes wide open guarding the cave entrance. There was no way in hell another one of those corrupted wolves will harm the beautiful wolf.

Maka could feel herself being lifted. She found herself in a nice dry cave, wrapped up in another wolf's warmth. She turned and looked to see Nibui's head on her back. "Oh! Hello Nibui", she smiled. Maka wagged her tail and looked around for Okami. "Okami...is he ok", she whined. The last thing she remembered was Okami on the ground but he was still conscious. She smiled knowing he was ok. She layed back down and tried to sleep. "I'll be ok Nibui. I'm going to try and sleep", she yawned mid sentence and slowly began to drift off to sleep. She was peaceful and thanks to Nibui she stayed pretty warm. Maka wished she could get a bath though. Her fur was all matted and stuck together because of the mud she was flung into.

Nibui began grooming Maka, washing the mud out of her fur. Afterwards he started massaging her muscles, relaxing them after the hard fight she just got out of. He sighed after a little while, getting up and padding to the entrance to the cave. He flicked his tail as he saw Okami come along with wads of moss and fluff in his jaws. "A bit late, she's already sleeping comfortably." Nibui said. Okami shot him a look before starting to stuff feathers and moss underneath of Maka for bedding.

Maka could feel Okami's warm touch as he pushed the soft thigns under her body. She awoke and licked his muzzle softly. "i missed you", she whispered. Her eyes became a soft lilac color as she got up. "Okami you don't have to do that for me", she said as she sat and watched him finish up his work. Maka smiled at him and nuzzled his neck softly. "Thank you", she spoke up and swished her tail under his nose, teasing him playfully. She grinned at him slyly and decided to go for a walk. "Since the rain has cleared I figured we could go for a swim!", she played and ran outside, with the sun shining brightly and the sky just as blue as she remembered. "I heard a waterfall earlier and I know where there's a waterfall there's a lake!", she pranced about happily, bending her front body down to play.

Okami followed her out, but soon got Nibui's face thrust into his. Nibui was growling, his teeth bared. Okami backed away, confused. "What?" he asked. Nibui just stood there, growling at his Pack mate. "You leave Maka alone," Nibui warned. Okami stared, shocked. "What do you mean, she's my mate!" Nibui snarled and flexed his claws. After a few more seconds, he padded away, growling lowly to himself. Okami blinked, then caught up to Maka.

Maka had already reached the hill to the top. She looked back at Nibui and Okami arguing as she saw. "Hey come on you guys!", she yelled. She watched as Okami padded up the hill. "Isn't Nibui coming", she questioned curiously. She didn't want him to feel left out. "Wait here Okami", she smiled. She ran down the hill to Nibui. "Hey come on let's go!", she invited. She grabbed him by the scruff and tugged on him. "Come on!", she yeleld already taking off towards the waterfall. She passed by Okami and rushed to the water. When she reached it she jumped out into the water and suddenly a water like stepping stone apepared under her. She continued to climb the stones until she reached the top and jumped down.

Okami glared at Nibui, and Nibui returned the look. Okami then padded into the water and started swimming. He splashed water onto the already soaked she-wolf and laughed. "Bet you can't catch me!" he taunted. Nibui, watching the two wolves have fun, became jealous.

Maka splashed around with Okami and giggled. She looked over at Nibui and sent a wave of water his way, knocking him over. She laughed and swished her tail around in the water. She chuckled lightly and bit at Okami's ears. She nuzzled him softly and looked at Nibui. He didn't seem too happy but she decided to smile at him and maybe that would cheer him up. Maka swam around in circles and finally once all the mud was off of her fur she climbed out of the lake. She shook her fur out and the light bouncing off the dews still on her fur made it shine and glimmer. Maka's eyes glimmered happily as she layed in the soft green grass, rolling around and growling playfully.

Nibui chuckled at the young she-wolf, and romped around with her. Okami narrowed his eyes, letting out a low growl, watching them. Nibui tackled Maka and started licking her face playfully. He got back up and wagged his tail. His tongue panted in and out of his mouth as he happily played with Maka. He could smell her sweet scent, and it made his heart melt. It felt like he was prodding on nothing but thin air, paw steps as light as a feather. He forgot about Okami and the troubles of the world. All he could focus on was Maka. Okami watched the two play and swam off behind the waterfall.

Maka laughed and her ears twitched as she could hear Okami's low growl. Her hearing had become impeccable since Amaterasu lent her Maka's full powers. She looked over at him and smiled, giggling and continued playing happily. She finally calmed down an watched as Okami swam behind the waterfall. "Nibui", she spoke still watching Okami, "is there something going on between you and Okami?" Maka didn't know what was going on between the two large wolves but she could feel a bad tension between the two. "I can feel this break neck tension between you two", she whined. She layed down, basking in the sunshine and her eye color grew brighter.

Nibui watched Okami swim away with cold eyes, "No," he lied. "Nothing is between us, at least I don't think." His muscles tensed, and ears flicked irritably. "You know, I think I'm going to go talk with him." he muttered, padding out into the water and swimming towards the small cave island behind the waterfall. As he swam out, a snarl played at his lips and his teeth bared. He needed to end this once and for all!

Maka watched as he swam off behind the waterfall to go and talk to Okami. She sighed a bit and watched the beautiful scenery. Butterflies fluttered around her and the blue sky brought along many fluffy clouds. Maka found a nice rock to bask on and relax. Suddenly she saw that one of the butterflies had landed on the ground in front of her. She crept up to it and chased it playfully, leaping up into the air to tag it and play with it. "I hope they're doing ok", she thought to herself. Maka finally decided to eavesdrop. She knew it was bad but she had to know what was going on with those two. She crept up behind the waterfall and just barely reached the corner where she could hear them but not be seen.

There was snarls and growls emitting from both of the MoonPack wolves. "What do you mean keep away?" Okami barked. "We're together on this, and there's no way in hell I'll ever depart with Maka!" There was a scrap of claws on stone and rock. There were more growls and snarls, threatening to rip each other to shreds. There was a yelp, and Okami growled louder, obvious it was him who had gotten hit. "Why do you want me away from her so badly anyway?" he muttered.
"Because I love her, and I refuse to have competition with a feather-brained wolf like you!" Nibui growled back. "Maka doesn't deserve you!" Nibui snarled. "She deserves me more than you!" Okami said. "No," Nibui slashed Okami across the muzzle again, and Okami bit him on his tail. Nibui howled in rage. "Tell me, what does she deserve then?" Okami growled, voice muffled through Nibui's tail fur. "Everything good and better than you!" Nibui replied harshly, kicking Okami away from his tail.

Maka couldn't believe her ears. She pinned her ears onto her head and cried. She gasped silently to herself. She finally turned the corner she was hiding in and looked at both the wolves. Tears poured from her eyes, and she could do nothing but stand there and cry. Her head was hanging low and she couldn't speak because of her sobbing and crying. "Why...", she cried out, whining and whimpering. She turned to run out but fell into the lake. She turned her back on them and swam out from behind the waterfall and onto the edge of the lake. She coughed and sobbed some more before pulling herself up and she ran off back towards the packs. Tears hit the ground once more and red poppies grew as they did before. She closed her eyes not wanting to see where her running took her. Suddenly it felt like she hit a brick wall and as she opened her eyes her eyes turned a light red color. Maka blushed and became embarassed. "Alpha Ruko", she spoke softly. She looked away from him and smiled slightly. "Maka...", he looked shocked. He wasn't expecting her to come back. He nuzzled her roughly and whined. "I wasn't expecting you to come back...", Ruko opened his eyes and finally blushed. "ehem...well it's good that you're back!", he smiled. " Both packs have united and things in the mountains are great thanks to you! Hope to see you back next time with some pups", Ruko winked and turned before smiling to her once more, and took off back towards the mountains. Maka blushed and sat back on her haunches laughing a bit. Ruko always cheered her up. "Pups huh...", she thought.
