Iris rolled her eyes and leaned back until her head was resting against the sand. She yawned another time, though worked to clamp her mouth shut so Jethro would stop teasing her. She rolled her eyes at his tone and tossed a fistful of sand in his direction.
"I'm going to stay out here tonight again. You can take the top floor," she murmured. In all honesty, she just wanted to sleep under the stars again tonight. That and she really didn't feel like getting up again; her limbs were still sore from being tossed around in the ocean.

Jethro laughed and dodged the sand that had been thrown his way. He had expected that, but when she leaned back, he noticed she yawned once more but quickly clamped her mouth shut. He let out a chuckled and turned back towards the ocean and heard her speak about sleeping out here again.
He turned and raised an eyeborw. "Now are you sure a little girl like you will be alright here in the open. Not afraid some beast will come and snatch you away in the night?" he'd genuinly cared, but it was probably out of his own selfishness of not wanted to be along on this island.

Iris rolled her eyes behind half-closed lids and pursed her lips. She was a bit scared the something would come out of the forest, but nothing would attack them, she hoped. Iris sat up to look at Jethro and smirked. "Scared for my safety, are you detective?"

"You bet Cupcake." Jethro nodded smiling, before quickly adding something so it would sound like more of a joke. "I would hate to be here on this island just by my lonesome."
His gaze left her face and looked back to the set sun. He let out a sigh before glancing back. "You sure you'll be alright? I'll stay out here if you want. I can sleep anywhere."

"And especially without alcohol," she said with a snort. The sun dipped down below the horizon, but orange rays still highlighted the sky nearest the water. A few stars were visible now and she looked upward to see if she could spot any constellations. Finding just one that was barely visible, she smiled and looked back at Jethro.
"I'll be fine, really." She hesitated before laying down on the sand and putting her back to him. "And you don't have to go," she said through a yawn.

"I won't." Jethro said as he stared at the ocean. He was aware she had moved and was now lying down, but he wasn't quiet ready to go to sleep.
This day had been odd, in the morning they had been at eachothers throats, ready to kill. Now it seemed as if they were best friends, well that was a stretched but the point was they were on friendly terms.
He glanced over at her before turning onto his back and staring at the sky, it was no longer the medly of colours, more like varioud shades of blues, with bright stars peeking through. He sighed and placed his arms behind his head and stared up at the sky, at some point he eventually fell asleep.

Iris felt a sort of satisfaction when she heard Jethro's "I won't." Her muscles relaxed when she heard Jethro's steady breathing as he fell into sleep. Iris yawned once more before following him, a smile quirking on her lips for a mere moment.
Her dreams were filled with the brine of salt water and stars glittered above her more vibrantly than before. It was day, though and still the stars shone more visibly than she thought possible. But when she reached out to lean over the rail of a ship, the world went black and she found herself cartwheeling through the air.
Iris' eyes shot open and it took her a moment to realize what she'd done. She felt something being clutched in her hands and didn't comprehend the fabric of Jethro's shirt until realization struck her. She'd rolled over in her sleep.

Jethro had a relatively peaceful sleep, he woke up once in the middle of the night after a nightmare that he couldn't remember. But he soon let the lull of the ocean put him to sleep.
The dream that followed was more vivid. It was the one he always had, he had gotten a call telling him his mother had died. He felt horrible but yet he couldn't help be excited at the thought of seeing his girlfriend again. Although things weren't as nice as he thought; he had hoped he be welcomed back into the arms of his very pregnant girlfriend, but was instead greeted by the fact she had moved on, thinking he left for the war to get away from his responsability. It wasn't as if he chose to go, but his mother had thought it was best. It was around the part when she was talking to him the he slowly woke up.
Aware of the loud, singing birds, the waves crashing against the shore. He was also aware of something was latched onto his arm. He opened on eye slowly, and moved his free hand to cover his mouth as he yawned before openening his eyes fully and turning his head to see Iris holding onto him. "Can I help you Buttercup?"

"Can I help you Buttercup?" The voice unexpectedly came to Iris and she stifled a yelp as she glanced up. The first thing that made her react and pull away was that; well, the first thing she'd noticed were how blue his eyes were. Her cheeks turned a dark shade of scarlet as she let go of Jethro and sat up to scoot herself away from him.
"Sorry. Must've rolled over in my sleep," she mumbled. Just when they'd finally gotten back on acquaintance terms instead of going at each other's throats, Iris had probably ruined it again and turned the whole situation awkward. Though as hard as she tried, she couldn't smother the tingling sensation on her hands where she'd grasped the fabric of his shirt, or when his breath touched her cheeks. Her face turned an even brighter red and she sighed.

Jethro raised and eyebrow and sat up looking over at her. "Oh you look so cute." he grinned, mocking her in that voice again. He let out a lsight laugh, trying to mask it. He really did she looked cute, blushing like an idiot. He shook the thought from his mind and ran his hand thorugh his dark hair. Shaking out any sand that was there.
"So Buttercup, what time is it?"
He needed to lighten the mood again for his sake, the last thing he wanted was for it to be weird again. SO there couldn't be anymore more weird thoughts, the last thing he needed was for thjis to turn out like some cliched desert island situation.

"I thought you said you had a watch," she mumbled as she ran her fingers through the impossible mess that was her hair. Sand skittered down her arm in the process and, because of the salt, her typical straight raven locks turned wavy. Some of the strands had turned silver from sun bleaching. She sighed and dug her toes into the sand.
"It's roughly eight," she said when she glanced upward for a mere moment. "What do you want to do? Find out some herbs, explore more, or something else?"

"Take a shower." Jethro said shaking his head. It felt horrible, it felt grainy and just, horrible. He shook his hair once more and sighed. "I say we go exploring." He sighed looking back at her. "Maybe we can find a bigger pool of water."

"Other than the ocean water," she said and her brows arched with the sarcasm. She laughed softly, but it was on the border of a girlish giggle and she grimaced. This island really was changing her. Surpressing a shiver, she stood up and wiped the sand off of her butt and her back.
"Alright. We should go to that stream again and travel upward." The path would be clear for the two of them if they stayed near the stream-front and a body of water other than the ocean had to be supplying it since it was fresh. She nodded to herself in the thoughts while she smoothed down the front of her shirt. "Ready?" she asked.

Jethro smiled and stood up dusting off his jeans and shaking his shirt. He knew it'd just be better if he took of his shirt and beat it against a tree but he didn't want to do it with her around.
He shook himself off as best as he could. "Alright Buttercup let's roll out." He said as he started to move towards the tree line.

"So we've moved on from Cupcake?" Iris asked as she glanced over her shoulder. She tried to figure out why she'd rolled over in her sleep when she remembered her dream. The feeling of freefalling and swimmng must have had her tossing all over the place. She was just happy she hadn't rolled over him in his sleep, or worse.
Iris was thankful her face didn't redden when she thought of when she'd cracked her eyes open this morning. Looking up at Jethro's face had made her embarrassed, but she couldn't deny the feeling his warmth had given her. At that, she grimaced and sighed.
The bubble of stream water reached her ears and she realized she'd been absentmindedly walking through the forest.

"Depends on which you like better." Jethro said as he trudged after her hands in his pocket. It was weird for him again, waking up to see her holding onto his arm like that. Imagine if she had rolled right on top of him, now that would have been awkward.
The last thing he needed was her falling for him, but then again he couldn't blame her. He smiled slightly at the cocky thought and scratched at his chin. She wasn't that bad to look at either but then again, he shook the thought from his head and stared at the ground watching as it turned from sand to the dirt floor of the forest.
It had the reached the stream pretty quickly. "So you wanna hard upstream or down?" he asked as he looked at the running water.

"Cupcake's grown on me," she said with a roll of her eyes as she bent over to cup her hands together and bring some water to her lips. She drank noiselessly and wiped her wet hands on her jeans before turning back to Jethro. She cocked one eyebrow up when he asked his next question, and she pursed her lips.
"Downstream will probably lead us to the ocean again. Let's head up," she said and grinned.

"Smart." Jethro nodded as took a quick sip of the water. He diet feel comfortable just drinking it like it came from the tap. This water could be some animals toilet for all they knew.
He wiped his hand on his jeans and walked up past her along the side of the river. "So how long do you think we have to follow this?"

Ooc; Lol. Jethro could end up drinking what's last of the alcohol and Iris could...'accidentally' flirt with him. THEN that would be fun to work with. xD

"Depends on how big the island is," Iris answered and let her fingers skim across the various leaves and ferns that reached out to her from the forest. She paused when she felt the silken complexion of a leaf she was familiar with. Turning, she crouched down next to the small leaf itself and sniffed it. The minty scent made her mouth water and she plucked it off of the stem, inspecting the chlorophyll to be sure it was what she thought.
"Mint leaves," she said with a grin and popped a couple more in her mouth. Now that she looked harder, the area by the stream was abundant with them. Not only did they help curve the hunger in your stomach, but it made wild game taste a lot better. Another gurgle reached her ears, but this was a louder one, more of a roar.
"And a waterfall, I think," she said as she cocked her head.

Jethro looked over at the mint leaves. He wasn't about to just stick one in his mouth like she did, be would have lined to wash them first although he did take in a big whiff of the plant. With this discovery food was going to taste so much better than the charred rabbit they had last night.
When she mentioned a water he straightened up and listened intently. Sure enough he heard the roar of the water crashing into what he could only assume was hopefully larger pool of water.
He looked away from the mint and walked towards the sound leaving the girl to follow him. He pushed his way into a clearing where there was a large lake with a waterfall. "Woah." he breathed as he took it in. It was amazing, like something out of a Hollywood movie. "Please tell me I'm not drunk and imagining this."
