Ooc; I'll think o' somethin'. x3
Bic;
Iris was busy studying the leaf again and she opened her mouth to turn to where Jethro was, except he wasn't there. Puzzlement quirked in her brows until she heard him talking a few meters away, words a bit muted because of the space between them. She reluctantly left the newfound plant and went to join him.
Her own eyes widened as she looked at the large expanse of water before her. The waterfall was huge and a bit to the right of them, a large cliff sending off cascading water that churned into the lake below. Tiny streams branched off from the lake itself and Iris pinpointed the one that led to the mint leaves.
"You're not imagining this," she said with wide eyes and hesitantly trotted to the water's edge. She peered over the edge and was even more surprised to see how clear the water was; it was at least ten feet deep, but she could see every speck of life to the bottom. "Damn," she whispered to herself and bent to trail her fingers along the surface of the water. It was chillier than bath water, but not unenjoyably so.
A bath was just what she wanted, or at least a chance to wash the sand and grit from her hair. She was suddenly extremely grateful for the laser treatments she'd gotten to get rid of the hair on her legs and other important parts on her body. But she wasn't about to dip in now; she'd have to keep her clothes on because of the man behind her, and even if she did, they'd stick to her body in embarrassing ways. Instead, she sat at the water's edge and dipped her legs in.

Jethro had to fight every urge to run and jump into the clear waters. But he needed some self restraint, he walked over to the edge and peering in, the water looked relatively deep for him to jump in without hurting himself, he could also see everything else that was living in there.
As he reached to touch the water something crossed his mind. He wasn't sure if this crossed Iris's mind, but there seemed to be something up with this island. It was a tropical forest, with rabbits, and this water was just way to clear. But he wasn't going to complain.
He glanced over at Iris who had her legs dipped into the water. He was sure she wanted to dive in just as much as he did, but she was being...safe. He would have just stripped down to his underwear and dove right it whether she was there or not, but he needed to be a gentleman about it so he asked her; "So do you wanna bathe first while I go wander around in the forest for a few minutes? I swear I won't peek."

Ooc; 8D! Glad you finally got back on and it's fine. xD
Bic;
"So do you wanna bathe first while I go wander around in the forest for a few minutes? I swear I won't peek." Iris half turned to look back at Jethro when he offered. She rolled her tongue around in her mouth for a few moments before pulling her legs out from the water. Water spun down near her bare feet and pattered onto the ground as she backed a foot from the edge of the water.
"I don't care if a tiger is about to rip you to shreds. If you come here while I'm still in the water, you'll wish you were /with/ the tiger," she said as she mock-glared at him. Already, her legs had begun to dry and she noted how they weren't scratchy or felt irritated from any form of salt water. This really was a pool of clear drinking water, though she sure as hell wouldn't touch it after Jethro dipped in it.
"I'll holler for you when I'm done," she said with a wave of her hand to thoroughly dismiss him. "And if I find you peeking, I'll be sure to murder you in your sleep," she said cheerily.

"Well no thank you ma'am." Jethro grinned standing up. He was a man, he could tough out not going for a dip, though the fact that he was thirsty made him evny the fact that she was going first. "I'll be down by the river, getting a drink, or drunk." he muttered the last part smiling. He shoved his hands into his pockets before moving away.
"You also may want to wash your clothes seeing as you didn't take anyone else's stuff."
He had picked up a sweater for her, which he was sure she wasn't going to wear. Sure her clothes would be wet but if she left it in the sun somewhere he was sure it'd be fine. He wandered back down to the stream and cupped his hand in and took a sip. It tasted fresh, but he still had that nagging feelings that there would be parasites and other nasty stuff.

Ooc; They decided to move back to the sb after all. There aren't any more individual chats, but there's this pink thing that really irritates me. It makes my page load slowly.
Bic;
When Jethro turned his back away, Iris fingered the spaghetti straps that rested beneath her gray overshirt. When he disappeared in the leaves, she squinted to see if she could make him out in the forest. "Oh, stop flattering yourself," she muttered and hastily pulled her top off. The green tank underneath was revealed as she dropped her shirt onto the ground, and then that was thrown amidst the others.
When she finally reached her undergarments, she decided to grab the pile of clothes and slide into the water with them. The slightly cold temperature made her toes curl at first and she waded out to slightly deeper water, the crisp surface reaching at the tip of her collarbone. Deciding it was deep enough, Iris held on tightly to the bundle of clothes in her arm and submerged her head.
When she resurfaced, she shook out her hair and waded back to shore. There, she set a few of the wet clothes on the grass and worked on her gray shirt. It had a few grass stains, some leaf mold stuck to the bottom of it, and the beginning of a hole from the sand that had been rubbing against it. She frowned and made sure to cleanse it well, though without soap, it wasn't about to look any cleaner.
As she finished with the rest of the clothes, sighing when she reached her jean shorts; she knew they'd take the longest to dry, she stripped off her undergarments. She washed those quickly and all the while, felt way too exposed in the wildnerness like that. She finished hastily and spread the clothes out.
With a sigh, she turned to admire the waterfall that was about a quarter of the whole lake away from her. Shrugging to herself, she believed it was worth the time to swim the distance and let the water run over her skin. Surely the clothes would dry by the time she'd be back.
She dove under the water again and opened her mossy green eyes. The underwater world was alight with luminous colors. Every shade imaginable in every form of life was there; plankton scuttled beneath her, tropical fish darted around her. In all honesty, she was awed. When she broke out onto the surface, she hesitantly made her way to the waterfall. She reached out a hand to the churning white water and decided it wasn't too strong. Another moment later and she had her head beneath it, letting the water cascade smoothly down her back.
She shook out her hair again when she pulled herself away from the roaring waterfall. Hastily, she clambered up onto the ground and out of the water. Sprinting forward both to dry off and feeling extremely exposed, Iris began to head back toward the clothes. By the time she reached the near-dry, half damp pile, she was almost dry. She quickly pulled the stuff back on and wrung out her black hair.
"Jethro!" she yelled, cupping her hands around her mouth as she did so.
Oooc; So...much. o_o

((Well, thats horrible, I liked the private chats XP Gosh, don't think my post will be that long))
Jethro walked around the area aimlessly. He was bored out of his mind, he had nothin else to do besides drink, but he was saving the remaining bourbon for later. He sighed and looked up at the trees, hoping to find anything. Something yellow caught his eye. "What is that?" he muttered to himself as he stood under the tree seeing plenty of other yellow and red objects. He grinned, they were mangos. He would have to remember to tell Iris once she was done.
He looked down at his watch, wondering why the chick was taking so long. Probably just enjoying the water, he thought as he continued to walk around.
He scratched at the tattoo near his collar bone, stopping to play with the dogtags around his neck. He always kept the on, he honestly didn't need to naymore but it had become a force of habit. He was bored out of his mind, he had nothing to do, and Iris had the lighter so he couldn't smoke. This was torture, he wasn't an outdoorsy type, who felt right at home here. He was just praying for when the coast guard or someone showed up. But that may take a while, they were to be in the water for a while before they were to dock. Even then, it may take a week before people even caught out to the fact they went down. He wondered how much longer they could last here.
He was shaking out of his thoughts when he heard Iris call to him. He turned and headed back towards her voice. When he was close enough he placed his hand over his eyes and walked into the clearing. "You decent?" He asked, though his fingers where open in tiny slits allowing him to peek through. Hegrinned and moved his hand down. "You were taking so long I was begining to think you'd drowned."

"No, I called you over here and I'm still stark naked," Iris said sarcastically with a roll of her eyes. She narrowed her eyes at him when she could spot his eyes opening between slightly opened fingers. And she snorted at his next statement, shifting uncomfortably when the back of the collar of her shirt became damp and rubbed against her skin. She wrung her hair out again and shook it out to get rid of a bit more moisture.
"Then I'll expect you to be finished in a few minutes," she said with a smile as she walked past him, intentionally pushing against his shoulder a bit teasingly. "Know that you're not the only one that'll be swimming in that water; some of those creatures may...bite," she said. Iris pursed her lips when she thought about the colorful array of fish that had been swimming beneath her.
Leaving Jethro with that, she brushed aside a few ferns and disappeared back into the forest.

((I took so long XD So much school work..o.O''))
"Haha, cute." Jethro said when she finished talking. He had all ready begun to pull his shirt over his head and tossed it to the ground. He scratched at the tattoo his back, as he mentally counted how many he had. It wasn't that many, just five. Enough to make his ex think he was a bad boy, which he was in a sense. He kicked off his Nikes started to unzip his jeans, he glanced back for a second. Just to make sure Iris was gone and not eating some leaves off a tree. "Geez Jeth, calm yourself." he muttered to himself as he pulled his pants off. He dropped that on his shirt before walking over to the water edge and peering in and seeing various forms of fish.
He sighed and grabbed his clothes, making sure to pull out whatever was in his pockets before bringing it back to the water edge. He leaned over and began to wash his clothes. He didn't feel like jumping in and washing the clothes while he was in there, too much of a hassel. Once his clothes were as clean as they were going to get, he placed his clothes on the grass to dry. He then waded into the water and sumerged his head and shaking his hands through it to get the sand and grit out of it. He came out and shook it out a bit more and scratched at his scalp. He wished his had Head and Shoulders or something. He climbed out of the water and felt weird being exposed tot he elements like that. He quickly pulled on his clothes which for dry for the most part, the only thing damp being his jeans. He quickly pulled his clothes back on and shook his head once more like a dog before smoothing it back down with his hands.
"Oh Miss Rosen?" He called out as he walked towards the forest.

The first predator she'd seen in the forest had startled her. With all their luck so far--aside from the huge landing on the island itself--she hadn't really expected some sort of carnivore. It was a coyote, something that definitely did not belong in a jungle. She could tell it had been startled when she saw its scruffy brown fur, and it hightailed it out of there when she stumbled across it. Iris was more than relieved to see that it was terrified of her; it meant they were still safe.
"Oh, Miss Rosen?" Iris turned at the sound of Jethro's voice and raised one arm into the air.
"Over here, Jethro," she said.

((Fine with me. I probably wont be on much either, but It's great to know you still want to do this.
So I guess its mine turn, so I'll just make it short while I get back into the flow of thing.))
"Over here, Jethro."
Jethro pulled his dogtags from under his shirt as scratched at his chest, making sure to pull his shirt away from his wet skin. It felt weird to have his shirt sticking to his body like that, he'd rather walk around shirtless but there were bugs and he'd probably start itching himself like crazy. He walked up to her running his hand through his wet hair. "What are you doing?" he asked tilting his head sideways and shaking out his hair once more before looking back at her.

Bic;
Iris turned again when Jethro came out from behind her. She looked back to where the coyote's brown fluffy tail had disappeared into the forest and shook her head. When she turned to fully face Jethro, she blinked and mentally kicked herself for noting how Jethro's shirt was sticking to his skin, and his skin was still damp. Kill me now, she muttered to herself in her mind and frowned.
"Coyotes. We're in luck. If they were tigers or panthers, we'd be in trouble; the dogs'll stay away from us. Anyway, ready to head back to camp?" she asked and tucked a lock of black hair behind her ear.

Jethro raised an eyebrow at her forwn but ignored it and looked around when she mentioned a coyote. He scratched the back of his neck. That was odd, a coyote in the tropical raindforest. What was up with this island?
He looked back at her and nodded. "Guess that enough exploring for the day." he said putting his hand into his pocket. "We should check your traps on the way back though. Unless you are not hungry." he shrugged smiling slightly. "After you." He mock bowed.

"Yeah, I know it's weird," she said with a shrug at Jethro's puzzlement. She was as befuddled as he was, but she wasn't going to try to make any sense of it. No, that would be impossible. She merely shook her head and pushed her way through some of the leafy ferns, ferns that you would find in a rainforest and not some place where a coyote would dwell. The rabbit was another thought that inclined suspicion about what could possibly be going on with the environment of the island. The idea of magic crossed her mind and she laughed at herself.
With her continuous questions about the environment finally dying in her mind, her thoughts conjured up the image of Jethro with his damp shirt again. Her eyes narrowed and she was thankful she'd walked ahead of him. Instead of focusing on that idea of Jethro, she imagined herself whacking her head against one of the trees around her, repeatedly. That gave her some pitiful condolence.
On her way back, she checked a few of the traps and found a quail snared in one that she'd hidden underneath a bush. She pressed down on its small neck and let it wriggle beneath her fingertips. Once it fell limp, she untied the snare, reset it, and stood with her catch. "Mmm, chicken," she said sarcastically as she waved it back for Jethro to see.
An idea struck her. "Jethro, we can use the ocean water for salt! It would help to store meat, dry it if we want to travel somewhere for a day. If we could find something to put the water in, we could leave it out in the sun for a day and let the water evaporate to leave us the salt." She spoke quickly so she could get her thoughts in the air and snatch them back into memory so they wouldn't be lost.

Jethro walked non chalantly behind her, hands shoving into his pockets eyes on her back. Though he noticed his gaze drifted further downward so he set his blue gaze down and looked down at his ruined shoes, making a mental note to by some new ones as soon as he got back home. He stayed like that thinking about how much he missed New York for a while. He missed the poluted air, honking cars horns, dead rats on the streets, even chasing after the stupid perps. He probably missed that the most, he wondered how his partner was getting along without him. Was she worried? Of course she wasn't she was jealous he had won the crusie that everyone was gunning for. Some vaction this is. He scoffed to himself shaking his head.
He hadn't payed attention to anything around him, and was snapped out of his thought when he heard some small squeaking chirps. He looked up to see Iris finish killing a bird and holding it up. "Winner, winner chicken dinner." He muttered reaching out to take the bird from her hand but nearly jumped when she stated the thing about the salt.
"We can do that?" He asked skeptically scratching chest.

"We can do that?" Iris heard Jethro ask, obviously not as accepting to the new idea as she was. She cocked one brow up and held the bird in the air just above his outstretched fingers. The kill was a lot less messy this time, for she had no use for the blood around the trees.
Her eyes were playful as she looked at him. and she blamed her idea for her spontaneous attitude. "You didn't think salt grew off trees in neat little packets and salt shakers. did you? And I know for a fact the saline content around the shores is high; I swallowed enough water that first day," she finished with a roll of her eyes.
"Just trust me," she said and plopped the bird in his hands. Seemingly against her own will, Iris's fingers went a bit out of the way to brush against Jethro's. The moment was quick and ended soon, and Iris forced a smile and turned to walk back into the jungle so she could register what just happened. She hoped Jethro hadn't noticed. At all.

Jethro rolled his eyes at her sarcastic remark about salt growing on tree. "Haha, cute." He said taking the bird from her, pulling his hand away when her fingers brushed his. He turned his attention to the little bird wondering how to cook it. He hated the fact that he had to plcuk this thing without boiling it first, it would make it ten times harder, plus he also had to gut the little creature. Not to mention there was no seasoning, unless they made salt.
"So would it workwith this bottle?" he asked pulling out the empty whiskey bottle she had made him fill with water from the stream?"

Iris's eyes lit up at the sight of the bottle. She reached to grab it and tugged it gently from his grasp. "I'm not sure, but there's no reason it shouldn't. I'm glad you kept it," she said and nodded at him. Her thoughts were elsewhere though; this new idea had her mind running back to past camping trips where she'd roughed everything out a week or so at a time. She'd always been building, constructing, working on things. The new spark of imagination with the salt was making her remember and making her want to create out there.
"I am such an idiot," she said to herself with pursed lips. She glanced up at Jethro and bit her lip. "Wait. I mean, nevermind. Just thinking. Okay, well, let's get back to camp. Salt, salt, salt," she murmured under her breath as she turned the whiskey bottle over in her hands. She would investigate the plants more thoroughly tomorrow; Jethro could help if he wants.

The way her eyes lit up you would expect there to be actual alcohol inside. Jethro made a funny face as she grabbed the bottle and had a beautiful mind moment, before saying hpw she was an idiot. Jeth raised an eyebrow, it was seriously as if she was drunk or something, he began to wonder if she had stolen his bourbon without him knowing. He tapped his pocket and felt the familiar flask still there. He shook his head and smiled slightly looking down. There must've been something in that water seeing as she'd been acting weird since then. He looked back down at the limp bird in his hand before he remembered what he wanted to tell her. "Hey Iris, I forgot to tell you, when I was wandering around by myself I saw a mango tree."
