((Lucky, I get out the 23rd, but I go back the 6th XP Man, Jethro more scared of the snake than she is XD))

Jethro walked bahind her, keeping his eyes up high in the trees for the orange fruits. Then he heard Iris infront of him mention something about not wanting kids and he raised and eyebrow. That was a random thought for the middle of the forest, what did she plan on doing? He shook the innaporiate thought from his mind and turned his atention back up to the trees. He heard her mention the stream and he nodded, he turned his eyes down to the running water.

"Jethro?"

Her voice sounded forced , he looked up his eyes going wide. His hand went instictively went to his gun, only to find it wasn't there. Not that he could use it either, then he would risk damaging Iris's ears. "Stay still." Jeth said slowly as he back up and picked up a giant stick, pulling one of the knives from his pocket. The snake didn't take it eyes off of Iris, its forked tongue darting out of its mouth. Gripping the branch in his hands he raised it and the snake looked over at him its tongue darting out before it lounged at him. as soon as it moved he swung taking its neck right into the tree. The snake hissed but Jeth had it pinned down above its head with the branch. He quickly flipped the knife and sliced through the part above the branch. The snake went limp and Jeth moved the stick allowing its limp body to fall from the tree. He poked it once more with the stick before turning to Iris. "Did it get you? Spit on you? Anywhere?" He said as he turned to her, blue eyes worried before he grabbed onto her shoulders and looked her over. When he realized what he was doing he quickly dropped his arms to his side before rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "Sorry."

"Jesus Christ," Iris managed to blurt out when the snake shot forward. The first thought that came to her was that it was going to strap onto her throat, the next was that it could possibly hurt Jethro. She turned in time to see him smack the damn thing against a tree and slice its head off. By the time Jethro turned to her and grabbed her shoulders, she realized she was shaking. She didn't answer him even when he pulled away from her and said a sorry; her gaze was stuck on the yellow and dark green, almost black coloring of the snake.  Her fingers tightened and she hugged herself as she continued to shake.

Jethro rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly as he looked at her. She was shaking, but he didn't want this to turn into one of those cliched moments where he would hold her till she cried. He also wasn't a fan of snot on his shirt, and he was pretty sure Iris wasn't the type. But he could see she was visible shaking as she hugged herself, before spewing off information like wikipedia. He turned his head to the dead snake on the ground, deadlist species? Maybe this wasn't the 'ideal' island paradise as they'd thought. He looked back over at Iris who was trying to compose herself, "I'm fine." she said turning away from him. He raised an eyebrow and said nothing, not that he would say the right thing anyways. It wasn't everyday you saved a girl from the worlds deadliest snake.

"I'm glad it didn't kill you."

He nodded again, though she couldn't see him considering she had her back to him. She quickly resumed the pace and he fell into step behind her, hands in his pockets, eyes on his feet. "Now is a great time for bourbon." he muttered, although sadly, he left it back in the cave.

He stared at his feet in silence until he remembered that he was supossed to be looking for the fruit. He quickly turned his eyes back up to the tree, his eyes quickly noticing the familiar red green bals hanging from a tree. "Over there." He said tapping Iris's shoulder and pointing off to the left. "Thats the tree." He walked ahead of her and up to the tree. Thankfully it wasn't to tall, he could just reach up and grab a branch and pull it down. He inspected the branch noticing most of them were green, with a red tint. They weren't ripe yet, the ones near the top were a more red yellow in colour. He wasn't about to make Iris climb, as he had planned. "Hey you stay here and I'll throw them down to you alright?" He asked looking at his female companion before letting go of the branch and grabbing onto another stronger one, easily pulling himself into the tree. He cimbed a few more before sitting down on a branch. "Ready down there?"

Ooc; He wasn't about to make Iris climb, as he had planned. LOL

Jethro smiled and started to pull them off the tree and drop them down on Iris, who had caught most of them fairly easily, before placing them in a pile next her. They had gotten a good about, he had dropped down about fourteen, which he was sure the two of them could carry back to their camp. But he picked on more for the fact that he like fives. He made sure to drop the last one on her head. "Sorry about that." He called down, but the laughter was evident in his voice.

He quickly moved down the tree, deciding to jump the last four feet, which he was happy he landed perfectly, he could have easily sprained his ankle. "I'm sure we had enough for maybe two days, depending on how we ration the food." He said slipping his hands into his pockets and looking at the fruit before back to her.

"Son of a--" she muttered as she scratched at her head and ignored Jethro laughing at her from up in the tree. She looked back up to see that there were still quite a few mangoes up there on the tree, and she could see a few more trees identical to that swaying in the breeze a few ways away. At least they would have some vitamins in their diet and wouldn't need to worry about scurvy. At the thought of bleeding gums, she licked her teeth and frowned.

"So Detective, think of that answer to my question yet?"

Jethro raised and eyebrow as he struggled to keep the mangos from falling out of his arms. He looked over at her, trying to remember what she what talking about.

"Still think we're going to make it out of here alive?"

He shrugged as he followed her out of the forest. "Well we've done good 'til now, so I think we're good. Plus they must of noticed by now that the boat hasn't docked yet, they'll probably come search for us."

Yet, the back of his mind screamed that they were never going to be found,that they'd spend the rest of their days here. How long would it take until just the two of them wasn't enough? Couples who aren't in these types of situtations break up over dumb things, how long was it going to be before they both decided they were sick of eachother and split? He missed the city, the dumb people, his partner Jackie. He missed hugging his kids, and fighting with his ex. Was that all really gone?

He pushed the thoughts from his mind. "They'll find us." He said, though he was more convinsing himself more than her.

((Dude, it'd be cool if they someone were found later down the line and went back to the city. It'd be cool to see how their relationship pans out))

"Mhm, you'll go crazy if you keep on believing that," Iris said as she trotted forward and tried not to jostle the mangoes too much. When they reached the sand, she dropped them onto the ground next to their makeshift campfire and just continued to stare at them. "Insanity doesn't sound half bad," she muttered and resisted the urge to kick one of the damn mangoes across the beach. She picked one of them up and tossed it between her hands for a bit.

He caught it easily. "What are we, six?" Jeth grinned looking down at the mango before up at her. "I'll play along though." He said tossing the fruit back. He guessed she needed some normalcy, and this must have been her only way to do so. "While we're at it? Wanna play twenty questions? Considering I know nothing about you other than you studied astrology." She might have said more about herself but he honestly probably wasn't even listening to her at the time, not that he ever did. But he was interested now, seeing that they didn't seem to be getting off the island anytime soon. So at least they had something normal to do before some incredibly stupid thing happened.

"Twenty questions, eh?" she said as Jethro lobbed the mango back at her. She caught it with one hand and spun the fruit up into the air before catching it again and tossing it back. It felt good to do something other than glance up at the sun every five minutes, or check their position in the forest so she didn't get them lost. Jethro wasn't dull, but he probably hadn't been out in the forest since he'd lived in the city. She thought of different questions she could ask him and only a few came to mind, most of them probably bringing up awkward subjects.

"Fancy." He said as the girl playing around with the fruit before tossing it back.

Jethro caught the mango and played around with it for a while. "Fears..." He muttered before tossing the mango back. "I dunno, kinda always thought I was Superman." He laughed. "If you must know thought, I don't really like needles. I mean I don't freak out and cry or anything like that. I just don't like them. I have never gotten a flu shot, or given blood. I guess I can probaby add boats to that too now." He said awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. He turned his attention back to her. "What about you Ms. Rosen? Any irrational fears? Like clowns?"

"Well, that's not very impressive," she said as she snatched the mango out of the air again. "No laughing." She glowered at Jethro as she let the mango roll around in the palms of both of her hands. Her fingers tightened slightly around the mango as she remembered the time her dad had first taken her to the zoo to teach her all about the animals. And that one exhibit where she'd run out of crying--she'd only been five--wailing that the thing inside was scary. Twenty-one now and Iris still didn't know why she found the damn things so creepy.

Jethro snorted as he caught the mango. "Seals? Seriously? You are scared of some of the cutest creatures on Earth." He shook his head and tossed the mango back.

"Alright. So...You got some sort of someone back home? Mom, dad? Boyfriend?" He asked, he had no idea what else to ask, seeing as that he would have to answer his own questions later. And he didn't have alot of down time, to listen to music or watch movies.

Iris laughed, finding Jethro saying "cute" funny. He didn't seem like the kind of guy who would have that word in his dictionary; nonetheless, she enjoyed the laugh. She was feeling a bit better about their talking, but her smile dipped down into a frown when he listed off the questions for people back home. As she caught the mango again, she remembered pretty well when she'd explained her dad had died of cancer. Good to know he listens, she thought crossly to herself and shrugged it off as she tossed the mango back. It's not like she'd really expected him to care about her life when they first started talking anyway; he'd probably brought it up to get rid of an awkward silence.

Jethro raised an eyebrow when he caught it. "No boyfriend. Seriously? I would have thought a pretty girl like you would have something serious going on." He said as he tossed it around in his hands before throwing it back. Not really realizing what he had just said. He moved onto her next question, "Moms dead. Dads a douche. I've had a bunch of-"He cut himself, telling a chick how many one night stands stands you had wasn't exactly the smartest thing. "What am I saying, I haven't had a serious relationship since Kelly." He shrugged when he thought of her second question. "Theres a reason people don't know those things about me." He chuckled slightly. "You already know one of my secrets, so ask something else."

((I dont know If I ever mentioned his girlfriends name before, If its different excuse me, because I totally forgot XD))

((Wow, funny that you remembered but I didn't XD Dude, I just saw on another board a character named Jethro and was like WTF? He kinda seemed like mine, but the person changed it up, and he's the exact opposite of my Jeth XP Its weird when you see other people whos characters have the same name XP))

"No sh-t." Jethro said as he caught the fruit before placing it down with the others. He followed behind Iris to the campfire spot. Plopping his butt onto the sand, he shook his head at her question. "In all honesty, I didn't really have the time. The city's busy. You just wake up in the morning, rush to work, and come home too exhausted to do anything besides go to sleep." He shrugged. "Plus, even if one day I ever wanted to, like I said earlier. Way to much pollution."

He looked up at the sky now, as it was begining to darken gradually. He looked over at her tracing symbols into the sand. He leaned in her direction and looked at it. "What'cha doing there?"

Ooc; I've only seen one of my characters' names being used on the boards before. It was in a rp I was planning on joining with said character. e_e At least the user isn't copying your Jethro. I happen to love yours. lol <3

((Yes, Jethro amuses me too XD I think it should rain, and they should be forced to stay together indoors, that would be fun. Or Jeth should find more alcolhol on the beach and they should get drunk ^^))

Jethro shrugged when she offered to teach him about the stars and traps. He had a watch, but he liked annoying her, a sundial wasn't even that hard to understand anyway. Traps she was already good at, he'd probably get annoyed halfway through making them. But he got a little serious when she mentioned the snake. "I'd never let a snake get you. So there's really no need for me to learn." He said staring down at the dots she drew. He looked back up and smiled slightly. "Though if it makes you feel better you can tell me how to deal with snake bites, considering my way probably wouldn't be the best."

"Now you're just being cocky," Iris said with a laugh when he told her he wouldn't let a snake get her. She decided to give up on the subject for now and wiped away her doodles. Bringing her arms back around her pulled in knees, she sighed and looked up at the stars. The sun had finally fallen past the horizon and only faint purples lingered on the edge of the sky; the rest of the night was home to the shining stars and the darkened night. Iris' nose twitched when she felt a drop of water splatter against her nose.
