"Potions," he said, grimacing. They arrived at the Great Hall, and he lead her to the Slytherin table. Draco was there, glaring with Pansy looking amused next to him. "Hey mate, how's it going?" he asked, taking a bite out of his roll. "Just peachy," came the sullen reply. Pansy giggled. "He's still pissed off at Aria." She turned to the girl in question. "That was a good shot."

She sat herself next to Blaise and each gave Draco and Pansy a quick glance. When she had heard what Pansy said about Draco she felt rather gleeful but, she would not show it. "Thanks, And your Pansy it seems, right?" she replied, looking at the girl for a long period of time before taking her gaze off and onto Draco. She observed his sulky and gloomy looking face. Hard in thought she spoke, "Oh, uhm.. Draco?" she paused for a moment, hesitating. "- I just wanted to let you know that, well.. er- I'm no longer mad at you," she continued, giving him a promising smile and an apologetic look. "So yes, I'm sorry about er- what happened." she finished off, she wasn't the best at apologizing but, she gave it her best. Aria felt some strong feelings to the boy but, she could figure out if they were positive or negative yet. She also apologized because she wasn't really the type of person to be so 'rude'. She kept her gaze on him still, her eyes bright, waiting on what his ex pression would turn out to be.

"Yes," Pansy said, smiling. "I'm Pansy. Pansy Parkinson." Draco listened as Aria apologised. He wanted so very much to reject her, hex her, spit at her...but he needed to win this bet. And Blaise already had a higher position in her good books, which he needed to remedy. So he gave her a smile. "I'm sorry too. What say we forget about everything that happened and start over?"

"Nice to properly meet you," she said back at Pansy, smiling too. Aria then turned to Draco again, "Yeah." she agreed. It seemed to become awkward after that. She looked down at her lap, doing the usual; fumbling along with her fingers. She finally decided to do something useful to herself and pour some Pumpkin Juice into the goblet in front of her. She took a sip from it, later licking her lips. She looked back up at them, observing their expressions for no apparent reason.

After their little agreement, Draco went back to eating his food and Pansy went back to teasing him. Blaise became 'immersed' in a Potions text, but really, he was just staring at Aria, imagining snogging her senselessly. "Blaise!" Pansy exclaimed, taking a break from her mocking of Draco. "Stop staring at the poor girl! You'll burn a hole in her!" Instead of the usual snarky remark that one came to expect from Blaise Zabini, he went red (although his dark skin prevented it from being immediately obvious) and then went to actually reading his textbook, ignoring them. Draco noticed his eyes seemed to read only one sentence. "You alright there, mate?" Draco asked, raising an eyebrow. Blaise made a sound ("Mmph...") and continued reading. "Blaise?" Pansy asked, her voice now sweet, "I know you were thinking embarrassing thoughts. Spill." She listened eagerly. "Come on, boy, I don't have all day!" Blaise went redder, and now it could be seen. "Wasn't thinking any thoughts," he grumbled. Draco, glad to not be on the mocked side anymore, chuckled. "You're never thinking no thoughts," he said. "If it's not about school or family, it's about girls and-" "Shut up, Draco," Blaise said, and he violently stabbed a fork in his sandwich. "If you value your manhood, you'll shut up now." Draco grinned and turned to Aria. "What do you think? Was he thinking of school or a certain girl?" He looked pointedly at her.

Aria chuckled when she noticed that Blaise was staring at her, and Pansy's comment about that. Her cheeks flushed into a light scarlet. She grinned, "Blaise.. Draco's right.. you couldn't be possibly thinking about nothing, hm.." she paused for a moment, both her eyebrows raised. Taking the book from Blaise's hands without any problems or restrain, she flipped it back a few pages and stopped at the sub-ti tle on the potion he was 'reading'. "May I just curiously ask Blaise.. what potion were you reading about?" she asked him as if she wasn't onto what Draco and Pansy were trying to figure out. She afterwards closed the book and placed it onto the table. She took another sip from her goblet and took a glance at Blaise, curiousity filled her eyes.

Blaise blushed even harder. "Um, it was the Polyjuice potion," he said hesitantly, before sending a worried glance at the Potions book. "It said- it said that I needed lacewings?" "Pathetic," Pansy crowed. "Damn, Blaise, you've got it bad!" Draco smirked as well, though inside, insane jealousy was raging through him. If Blaise was only acting the lovesick fool, he'd get Aria before Draco, and he'd lose. Dammit.

"Why Blaise, it was the Draught of Peace potion," she said if she were shocked. Aria reached out her hand to take another drink from her goblet, her eyes trailing off of Blaise. She smiled at Blaise and took some glances at Draco and Pansy. Taking a glance at the clock outside of the Great Hall entrance, she spoke, "We better get going to Potions.. I may just use it up to fill my free period,". She stood up up from her seat and picked up the textbook. "C'mon." she said, holding out the book to Blaise.

Draco watched as Blaise took it without looking at her. As they moved to Potions, he seemed to be walking slightly faster than them, as if to get away as quick as possible. He smirked rather fakely and sidled up to the boy. "Your precious little lover boy act won't get your tongue down her throat," he said confidently to the darker boy as they walked in step. He shuddered a bit at the mental image that that last comment had conjured up, but pushed it away. He watched Blaise. Surprisingly, Blaise didn't look smug. He actually looked a bit angry. "Think I'm acting, do you, Drake?" he said softly, through gritted teeth. Draco only smired in reply. "Merlin, you can be stupid sometimes." "What?" Draco slowed slightly, and it took a few moments for Blaise's insinuation to register in his brain. "What? You actually like her?" Blaise shrugged. "She's cool." "She's a halfblood," Draco hissed. "Our bet was solely to get in a snog, not to get into a relationship. You'll ruin our good names." "On the contrary," Blaise said dryly, looking back at Aria and Pansy who had drifted behind them and were walking silently, "it'll make me less suspicious." Draco shrugged angrily. "Who cares?" "I do," Blaise said as they reached the Potions classroom. "Now shut up, they're coming."

Aria made up some small talk, and asked a few questions to Pansy on the way to the Potions Class while clutching a few references in both her hands. Wondering why Blaise and Draco had sped up, she shook off the thought. Finally arriving to the dimly-lit classroom she sighed and stood there amongst the other students who were dressed in green and silver, and others dressed in scarlet and gold embellishments. She turned to Pansy to ask a question, "They're in Gryffindor, yes?". She continued to observe them from afar, since class wasn't exactly starting yet. But, that soon ended when a semi-bald, old man stepped into the classroom with a scrunch of parchments in his hand. "Welcome to Potions class!" and he went on with a beginning of the year speech. As he did he seemed to be called 'Professor Slughorn', Aria remembered this name from summertime when she had come to Hogwarts for a brief tour. Aria gave a quick look around, only partially listening to Slughorn, and she caught the sight of Blaise just a few feet away. She slid down next to him and gave him a quick tap on the shoulder. "Hey, You alright?" she asked him as she examined his displeased face.

Blaise grimaced as he felt her touch him. "Uh, yeah," he managed to choke out. Draco sent him an angry look, a far cry from the smug ones he had been sending earlier. They sat down and began taking out parchment and quills, as well as inkpots. Pansy moved to sit next to Draco, and turned to him, her face resting on her elbow. She looked at him with a pleased ex pression. "Jealous, are we?" Draco sneered. "Nope." "She's a pretty mudblood." "She's pretty, but she's a mudblood. I only want a snog." "Blaise wants a relationship, doesn't he?" Draco made a confirmative sound. "I'm pretty sure she'll go for the guy who wants more than a snog in a broom cupboard," Pansy sighed. "You're probably going to lose." "Thanks for the encouragement, Pans." "It's fact." "I am going to win," Draco grit out. "No matter what." "You seem rather passionate. Are you sure you don't want a relationship?" "Shut it, Pansy." Pansy grinned. "Alrighty then. There's my answer." Draco ignored her.

Aria sat down next to Blaise across from Pansy and Draco. She took out a textbook- similar to Blaise's- from under the desk and started to skim through it, looking for the appropriate potion Professor Slughorn had informed them to find. Once she had found the correct page she took out a few peices of parchment and one of her quills from her robe pocket. After hastily read the page she fortwith began dabbing her quill in an inkpot which was placed in the front of the desk. Aria stopped writing for a moment to face the dark toned Slytherin. "You know when I said it was the Draught of Peace potion? well, I was merely joking. It was the Polyjuice Potion and I thought you'd know due to the tone in my voice.. I'm not the best liar you know," she smiled and her cheeks flushed lightly. "So yeah, I guessed you wanted to know, me equals bad liar and a horrible jokester." she finished off before going back to dabbing her quill in some more ink.

Blaise flushed, but a feeling of relief washed over him. "Yeah, well," he said casually. "Of course I got it right. I was reading the book, after all. I wasn't watching anyone or anything, so if that's what you think, it's not true. I was just reading." The last part was said rather quickly.

Aria turned the page of the textbook before taking a glimpse at him. "Of course." she said, smiling and her eyes crinkled into thin crescents. She continued writing on the parchment, dipping her quill in ink and turning the pages of the text for several more minutes until there was a small crack noise that broke out. "Opps.." she said sheepishly and she lifted her quill into a leveled view. The quills tip had snapped and was barely holding on. Aria seperated the tip peice and flicked it away. Rummaging in her robe pocket she sighed and turned to face him again. "You have another quill? I kinda erm-" she said before pointing to the now useless quill.

"Uh, no, sorry," Blaise said apologetically, "I don't bring spare ones because I only use this one, which is my favourite one." He held up a peacock feather quill with a silver tip. Draco, hearing the conversation, unceremoniously barged into it. "Here, Aria," he said, flashing the charming smile he had given her before their argument, "I've got a spare." He handed her a quill that was made from the feather of a swan and had a gold tip.

Aria took the quill from his hand and smiled back at him. "Thanks Draco," she said, still smiling before she fixed her stare back onto her work. Once Draco had gone back to his seat, she rotated the quill in her hand, examing it seemingly before shooting a quick glance at the blond boy. She immediately turned away when she saw his slightest, little movement, afraid that he had caught her staring at him. Aria looked down at her parchment, biting her lip, yet still writing down what was necessary. What if he did catch her staring? but, what if he didn't.. the thought skittered in her head. She slowly tilted her head to the side of the parchment, her eyes at their corners. She saw Draco still writing and reading like he had before and she felt relief. Though surely she didn't know why she had glanced at him in the first place, possibly just curiousity or perhaps she had went absentminded. But, the thought still moved along in her head, what if..

Draco bit his lip as he continued writing on the parchment to stop himself from smirking. Without looking up, he murmured, "You alright there, Aria? I know I'm rather attractive, but staring makes it very obvious that I appeal to you." Now the hidden smirk blossomed into a full smile, but he kept writing.

Aria had stopped writing and faced forwards when she had recieved the signal that Draco had caught her staring. Her face became to look unsure and her cheeks tinged with scarlet. She took a deep breath and gulped before clumsily refocusing herself to the work in front of her. The relief in her morphed into a nervous feeling, which made her stomach twist. 'Not like I was staring at him.. I wasn't.. ugh, stupid absent-minded me.. m-maybe he's smiling for another reason.. like there's not a possibility he could be smiling because I was staring- I-I mean not staring at him..' she thought to herself, trying to keep herself focused but, it really hadn't help because she couldn't stop thinking about it. She sighed finally, and picked up the quill again, continuing to write.

"You know, there's no need to be embarrassed," Draco continued, still writing. "You aren't the first girl to be caught out. I mean, I've caught at least five girls these past few days. And I know there are others that I haven't even bothered to try and catch. My ravishing good looks are just too irrestible." The arrogant smile showed that he truly believed these words. "Although I am rather curious to know why you're showing interest now? After all, I thought I was completely 'pathetic'. Your words, not mine." The quill stopped.

Aria's cheeks were still rather red and she was still thinking on and on.. Giving out a sigh of relief she stood up from her seat, taking the ink invaded parchments with her. She walked gracefully up to Professor Slughorn who was busy at a table mixing liquids and odd-looking items together in a large cauldron. She fixed herself up and gave him a partially forced, sheepish smile. "Um, my notes and the theory I chose." she said softly, this didn't seem interfered with her temporary embarrassment. Professor Slughorn nodded and she went back off to her seat. She sat there, one of her hands tapping the desk lightly if she were playing the piano, a muggle instrument. Her face forwards and looking worried.
