I watched him play effortlessly as I lay comfortably. I guessed he's been playing all his life if he was that good. It was almost inhuman how fast he easily went.
Great. Another thing to think about. Another reason to think he wasn't normal.
I pushed the thought aside as I looked back at him.

Finishing up by going even faster than he had been, with a crash of the cymbals as his final strike, he grinned at Paradise.
''So, you wanna come over here so I can teach you how to play?'' He asked, laughing, and standing up. He was twirling both drumsticks in one hand as he picked up the leather case again, and stopped spinning them around as he pulled out another pair, black vinyl with a crimson dragon flying down the length of each this time.
''I'll let you use my dragon drumsticks,'' He tempted, waving them in the air and smiling, trying to keep from laughing.
Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.

Just as I was about to compliment him when he finished, his question caught me off guard.
"I don't know..."
I mumbled as I slid off his bed and came over.
"I've never really played before."
I added as I crossed my arms. The last thing I wanted to do was embarrass myself in front of Dan. And, playing the drums was the perfect way to start that embarrassment.

''Ah, c'mon. I'll start off with an easy beat.'' He said, before showing her exactly what he meant with the black and indigo drumsticks. All he did was hit the largest drum twice, followed by the cymbals once.
He repeated this, before doing a slightly more complex thing on two of the smaller drums.
''See? You hit the big drum twice, the cymbals once, repeat, and then you just go right-left, left-right, right-left-right-left.''

His words always seemed to make me feel better. I grabbed the drum sticks from him as I sat down on the stool.
"Well then be prepared to see that easy to you is different to everyone else. What do I do, again?"

Dan laughed, and stepped behind the stool, leaning over her shoulder to show her. ''Easy for me is not different to everyone else.'' He chuckled, shaking his head.
''We'll start with the first bit; it's the easiest.'' He struck the drum in the same sequence he'd done already, big one twice, cymbals once. In order to reach the cymbals, he had to brush against her shoulder, but he didn't think she'd mind.

Playing the drums looked so easy when Dan did it. Hopefully when I tried playing I wouldn't make a complete fool of myself.

With a sigh, and a smart remark being held in her head, Paradise held her drum sticks and did the exact thing Dan did, but slower. (I'm horrible at role playing a charactar playing an instrument or something. Idk why. LOL. Sorry.) "Just so you know, I doubt you can make me do anything."
