I took his offer to sit down on the couch as I watched the animal channel again. I heard his foot steps as he went up the ladder, to his room, and I could hear him coming down. That was when I got up and to him, "Need any help?"

''Ah no, I'm grand, thanks for the offer anyway.'' Dan replied, grinning. When he reached the bottom of the ladder, he walked over to the coffee table and placed the box on that, opening it up.
Inside were various sheets of paper, both coloured and non-coloured, sticks of glue and bottles of glue, a box of markers, and pencils, among other things.
''This enough stuff for you?''

I looked in the box, in amazement. Why he had all of these things in one box was a wonder to me. Glue sticks, pencils... All those things were scattered in different drawers at my house.
"It's... 'Grand'."
I said, teasing him before going to my back pack to find the rubric.
"You have a computer, right? We have to do research..."

''Yeah. I pick up some weird words in different places I've been to.'' He grinned, nodding his head.
''Yeah, I have a laptop. It's in the kitchen, hang on a sec.'' He turned and walked quickly through another doorway, re-emerging with a sleek, dark blue laptop under his arm.

''Sure thing, sounds good to me.'' He opened his laptop up, revealing that his homepage was not Google or any social networking site or the like, but the National Geographic homepage.
He typed in aquatic and oceanic and such, browsing through the many documents on both animals and plants.

As Dan started, I found headings that I had already printed out at my own house the night before and started gluing them to the board. I knew it was random, but I couldn't help but ask: "Do you know what you want to do when you're older, Dan? Not career wise but... Anything you want to do?" I asked, though my mind was more in a different focus. Lately, I couldn't see anything or anyone in my future except for Dan. I knew it was weird, maybe immature, but I couldn't get it out of my mind... Mostly because I knew that if I kept going with these fantasies, that I was going to become heartbroken.

[[Roflmao. XD]] Dan glanced up, not really sure how to respond. He'd never really thought about any future other than moving from town to town, trying to keep his secret. He didn't know if he had anything he wanted to do when he grew up.
''Dunno. I'd say see the world, but I guess I've done that already. What about you? What would you do?''
He didn't know why, but now when he thought of his future, he didn't just think of moving from town to town.
He thought of Paradise, and how it wasn't possible for her to be in it.

I sighed, thinking of something I could make up so I wouldn't have to say what I was feeling.

I shrugged, horrible lie but at least it fit. As I finished with the boards headings and ti
tle, I sat down next to him and looked at the screen - trying to ignore the smell of his cologne in the process - asking, "Find anything yet?"

''Yup, there's a load of crap here. You want me to start typing something up on word? The printer's wireless, so we can print it from here when it's finished.''
He smiled, tilting his head to the side and glancing over at the board.

Dan nodded, opening up the word document and starting to type.
He decided the largest species of fish and the smallest species of fish would be a good place to sart, so began by writing up a deion on the eating habits, habitat, and other random stuff he found.

I waited by the printer just across the room as Dan started typing. My eyes wandered, anywhere but by him, until I finally couldn't fight the urge anymore. As he typed the research information, I couldn't help but just stare. I smiled and looked away, thinking about how crazy I was.

I smiled at him before saying, "Actually, research papers are supposed to be easier. You just have to find facts and write it... Properly. Essay's are your own opinion and I've heard students hate that even more."
I shrugged, pretending like I didn't sound like a complete nerd, before grabbing a piece of paper and saying,
"Yup. Let's get started."
