It was funny how easy Dan amazed me.

Just as I was about to ask another question, the French teacher came inside. He did the normal 'Good morning, class' routine, and then got down to business. I wrote my notes, but all I could think about was Eddie.
Was he still mad at me?
I still didn't understand why he was.

Dan just sighed as the teacher walked in, flicking open his supposed 'notes' copy to where he left off. Looking out the window again, he debated whether to continue on with the poem he had written, or write a brand new one. Either one would work out. Besides, he had no plans of ever travelling to France, so that language wouldn't do him any good. Also, the teacher had very bad pronounciation.

[Ughhhhhhhhhh. ]] Finally, the bell rang. Meaning lunch time. Since the first period, I have been hungry. I didn't have breakfast. So, I was looking forward to lunch all day.
Until of course, I realized that Eddie and I usually sat together. Would he sit next to me today?
I frowned, knowing the answer, as I trudged through the hallway to get my lunch money from my locker.

Dan stood up lazily from his desk, glancing around him. He saw Paradise heading for her locker, and decided to follow. He wasn't particularly hungry, anyway. He'd go hunting again that night, maybe. ''So, where do people normally spend their lunches around here?'' He asked nonchalantly. Even though Paradise made him feel anything but nonchalant.

I said with a chuckle. Dan seemed to brighten my mood easily.
"But, sometimes, if Eddie or Ashley, my other friend, are not around, I just eat outside under this tree. Wanna come with me? It's pretty and big and..."
I said then added a shrug when I didn't know any other words to describe it as. I usually sat alone out there, but why not have Dan come along? He always made me smile for some reason.

I said with a laugh at his sarcasm before motioning him to follow me.
"It's right by the front entrance, so we will still be able to hear the bell when we need to come back in."
I said before walking outside. I chose not to buy my lunch. I had lost my appetite.

I did a small shrug as I sat down and leaned my back against the tree.
"I... Kind of lost my appetite."
I said quietly. It only reminded me of Eddie, but I looked back at Dan and immediately smiled; so that he wouldn't question what was wrong.
