Dan shrugged his bag on his back. In the duration of the day, he'd been handed two detention slips for not paying attention in class, but he had no intention of going. Heading out of the school, he felt a chill in the air, moreso than the people around him. He saw the majority of kids getting lifts home, and cursed as it began to pour, drenching him instantly, and thunder cracked in the distance. Great. With thunder, he couldn't go flying.

I frowned and even did a small irritated groan when it started raining. I had to walk home in this? Today was just getting even worse. I put the hood of my jacket over my head, but I was still soaking in rain. And shivering from the cold. I saw Dan up ahead.
"Hey."
I said with a smile, biting my lip once more.

"Can you, by any chance, be the best guy in the world and have a ride?"
I asked, crossing my arms and smiling up at him through the rain that kept hitting my face.

I frowned when he said he didn't have a ride.
"That means you have to walk in this too, huh? This sucks..."
Just as I was about to ask if he lived near by, he started...
Walking backwards.
I rolled my eyes while grabbing his shoulders and turning him around.
"Stop walking like that! You're going to get yourself hurt."

"I feel like you're doing this just to annoy me."
I grumbled before rolling my eyes once again and walking with him.
"So how far away is your house from here?"

"I think you are."
I said, crossing my arms. At least I had someone to walk with.
"Great. Which way? I'm just as far away from this stupid school."
I guess Damon was right. I wasn't the best at being deive.

''I'm not. And. Which way d'you think? The general direction I'm walking in.'' Dan heard a crack of thunder, very close. Too close for his comfort.

I have a roleplay with someone on email, and I replied to this after I emailed her. So I guess Damon was stuck in my head D:

"I believe that you are."
I said, before adding,
"Well I was just wondering. You don't have to get all sassy."
I said, before doing an irritated sigh when hearing the thunder.

''I am a male. Males don't get sassy. They get sarcastic.'' Dan grinned as he teased her. Why was this so much fun? The grin was quickly wiped off his face as thunder boomed again, followed by a blinding flash of lightning. Looking up, his eyes went wide. One of the huge, tall trees on the other side of someones garden wall, had been hit. It was right above Paradise, and was leaning dangerously. No way would she get away in time. Dan was ten feet away. He shouldn't have been able to do what he did. He jumped forward in a blur, and pushed her out of the way, just as the tree hit the ground right where she had been standing. He glanced down, and realized she'd fallen to the floor. ''Paradise! Are you alright?!''

Before I knew it, Dan was right in front of me, pushing me out of the way just as a huge tree fell. My breath caught in my throat as I landed on the ground, instinctively holding my hands out to catch my self. They were a bit scraped, but for the most part, I was fine. Except I did hit my head a bit hard, making things a bit dizzy.
"Uh... Yeah?"
I said, rubbing my head as I started getting back up.
"W-what... How did you...?"

''How did I what? And are you sure you're all right?'' Dan helped her to her feet, staying at her side in case she hit her head harder than she thought and fainted or something. It was unlikely, but if it did happen, he'd have to catch her. He looked at her, his face concerned.

"I'm fine..."
I said, only make the light-headedness worse. I ignored it and looked back at Dan,
"How did you do that? Go so fast. That was most definately not human."
I said more firmly. He couldn't make excuses this time.

I shook my head, about to press on the subject, before I got dizzy again.
"Whatever. Thank you, Dan."
I grumbled before grabbing my backpack, which had slipped off my shoulder when I fell and put it back on one shoulder.
"I should get home."
