Day to day life
has been the same stream of monotony, your character has been living
their lives as usual. One day while going about their daily business
something strange occurs, a strange energy arises around them. The world
seems to slow down, their bodies grow heavy and a blinding light
engulfs their vision.
Suddenly
they are falling, helplessly, unable to move or resist. The blinding
light and chaotic energy around them making all resistances futile.
Their consciousness begins to fade, leaving only the sensation of
falling and a strange feeling, unknown energy flowing through their
veins burning like fire, binding to body, branding their soul. Then they
 hit the ground.
The
harsh collision with the solid surface jars their senses back to reality even as the
blow knocks the wind out of them they become aware of some things. The
air smells different, the energy around them feels different. Everything
feels different, they are no longer where they where. They are no
longer in their world.
Your
character has been summoned to a new world by a desperate population
seeking a solution to a problem which they themselves believe they
cannot fix. Furthermore your character has been magically bound to a
monster, one that the locals hope that through the binding ritual your
character can control. These creatures can be anything, dragons being
the most common but any large, ferocious beast will do.
Of
course things don't always go as planned, summoning strange beings from
another world doesn't automatically mean salvation. No one knows who is
good, who is evil, who wants to help and who will cheat their way into
escaping their new role. Only one thing is for sure, your in a new
world, bound to a monster whom may or may not want to eat you,
surrounded by strangers whom believe your some sort of savior and teamed
up with other people whom are in the exact same situation as you. Most
of you just want to go home.

Your characters can be anything as long as they are able to take on a
human form and the beasts they are bound to can be just about anything.
They could be good, neutral or evil, their intelligence level  and power
 is up to you.

Now what do the locals want? They great their newcomers with this story:

A strange dark shadow has appeared in the near by country

cutting off all contact with the country and its citizens. No one knows

where this shadow has come from and what happened the people who live

beyond the darkness. There is only two things known about the dark

storm, one is that anyone who enters into its shadowy grip is never

heard from again. Two is that the shadows are spreading, slowly and

surely they are taking over the countryside. This has caused endless

amounts of panic as people flee from the darkness and surrounding

countries do their best to figure out what is going on.

For
years they have been battling against this dark storm and during those
years countless lives have been wasted.  Now no one else is willing to
go all that could have been sacrificed to the darkness have been, no one
else is willing to risk their lives and they have run out of options.
They need something or someone who is stronger, they need someone
capable of surviving the darkness they have decided to turn to other
worlds for a solution.

Even
though the risk remains that they are unleashing a bunch of monsters
onto their lands, the hope is that if even one of those monsters could
end the darkness it would be worth it but they where not going to simply
unleash these creatures. They need someone to control them, someone
whom can be sacrificed if things go wrong. That's where you come in, you
a stranger from another world has been bound to one of these creatures.
If you want to live, you'd best find a way to control or befriend them.
If you want to go home, you have to solve the puzzle of the dark storm
first.

~Rules~
-Please be courteous to the other role players.-
-In the event that your characters are having a conversation feel free to post extra in between waiting on others to post but please don't leave them behind. Try to post no more than 4-6 times(2-3 per person) while waiting for others to catch up. If you wish to continue beyond that I suggest taking it to rmail and just copy and pasting the result on your next post.
-Onexone spinoffs welcome-

Setting: Your character will be summoned it a massive cobblestone courtyard within the castle walls of the countries king. The place is a bit worse for wear, the stone walls are chipped and cracked in some spots with spots of ivy and moss growing on it. The cobblestone has shoots of grass and weeds growing in the cracks and in the center of the courtyard is a large fountain, which also shows similar signs of age and lack of upkeep. While the stone work is shotty and warn at best the gardens in the courtyard are neat and well kept full of exotic and fragrant plants. All kinds of unusual birds and insects dot the courtyard, filling the place with both vibrant colors and sounds to accompany the sound of water falling in the fountain.
Its a warm clear spring day with only a few clouds in the sky and a gentle breeze, the temperature is roughly 70 degrees Fahrenheit or 21 degrees Celsius.

The country is currently going through a medieval style era however it is on the very verge of an industrial revolution. Steam powered objects are just starting to gain popularity however things are still largely powered by animals and on some occasions magic stones for the wealthy. Perhaps the best way to view this country in appearance would be ancient Rome, lots of aged stone work, aqueducts and rudimentary plumbing most places do have indoor bathrooms however. The people for the most part live well though poverty still exist and its getting worse thanks to the dark storm and growing corruption among the wealthy and ruling class.

As for the magic in this country? It exist but on a small scale, few people have the knowledge and resources to use it. Those who have access to it are often sages and scholars who spent their entire lives studying it in depth and the majority of them come from wealthier families. As a result few commoners have that knowledge and some  even fear it. They are the ones who are making up for the lack of magic by way of creative and sometimes steam powered inventions.

Note: If you join later than the initial summoning your character will instead be summoned to an area within close proximity of the others. Thus sign ups will be open for quite awhile.

Also I apologize for the spacing issue, I am not quite sure why its doing that...

It was a quiet cool winter night, the time was just past midnight and all seemed well on the grounds of the Sommerset manner,a place that belonged to one of the richest men in the county and the most corrupt. He was a politician well known for making the poor poorer and rich wealthier. A man known well for his cruelty and mistreatment of both the commoners and those whom worked under him. As such he was also one of the most hated and feared people in the area and he knew it, at all times he surrounded himself with guards. The man worked his guards to the bone and paid them poorly despite this however he retained his confidence that they would protect him and his valuables at all times without fail.
What he failed to realize was that all it took was one cunning soul and a little magic to undo it all. You see, most of his power came from a single golden crest given to him years ago by the countries king. Over the years he used this ob
ject time again to intimidate people whom lived on the countries borders far from the actual kings reach, it was the single reason why he became so powerful. He used it under the false pretense of working for the king. However what would happen if that ob
ject where to mysteriously disappear? One young man wanted to know the answer to that question. Would the king be willing to grant him another? The young man thought it was unlikely, considering the politician used the crest for purposes it was not intended for. He had researched this heavily after all and discovered that the crest had much more humble origins, it was awarded to those who had an outstanding career in the kings service though even in the capital it was rarely spoken of. The crests purpose was mostly just a trophy, bragging rights for the nobles but out here in the country few knew that and those who did know did not have the ability to do anything about it.
So what would happen? Would he loose his power? No, not likely but once the locals realized it was gone perhaps they would gain the confidence to question the politicians authority. Once those questions started, things would surely be discovered and the mans power over the region would surely become unstable. That was all up to them however, that was not the young mans concern. If he could steal it and perhaps a few other valuables it would be for his own personal gain , the rest up to the locals.

Now was the night the theft would go down, the young man, whom just so happened to be a mage and one of the most hated and persecuted beings in the region was about to attempt this grand theft. He had scouted the area out, uncovered the manors original blueprints and even taken the time to learn about guards. Today was the perfect night, the moon was new and the sky was dark and the guards on the current rotation where all heavy drinkers.
Just a few hours earlier he had disguised himself and paid off a local street kid to deliver a few bottles of rum and snacks courtesy of a local bar. It was not all that unusual for the locals to sneak gifts over the guards whom where often friends or family. Everyone knew of the long hours the guards worked and the unfair conditions, most everyone shared sympathy for the plight of these guards. It was a rather unusual situation but a welcome one as happened to place a small spell on the drinks that would soon be offered to them. The design of the spell was rudimentary at best, basically it would just knock them out for a bit and leave their memory a bit fuzzy for the evenings. It wasn't his finest work but it would do.
The mage watched from the trees of the surrounding forest as the kid arrived on time and delivered the goods which the guards took gratefully. They where all younger men who where used to the kindness of the locals, not one of the six that where currently on duty seemed to suspect anything. They had already had been patrolling the grounds for over ten hours without break.
While the street kid scampered off, keeping the valuable gold coin the mage had given him clutched tightly to his chest the guards took their goods back to their posts to enjoy. From his position in the trees, the mage could see all but one of the guards posts which was good enough for him. They rarely left their patrol routes and didn't regularly encounter each other during their shifts. The manor was just to large for six guards to properly patrol and the penny pinching miser of a politician foolishly didn't hire more. Besides all that, the mage only needed a few minutes to slip across the yards and a door or window. The guards should be down for roughly half an hour which was plenty of time for him.
Now it was just a waiting game, the guards went down slowly, one by one but the moment they where all down the mage made his move. First, before he entered the grounds himself he sent in a less suspicious subject, his fluffy companion and partner in crime, Blitz a gorgeous white wolf with brilliant golden eyes. As soon as he helped the animal over the fence he bounded over to the nearest fallen guard and promptly peed on him. The man didn't stir in the slightest so the mage entered afterword, leaving the wolf to run around and stir up trouble as he please.
From there on out everything went relatively smoothly, he entered the manor through a window. Its lock was no match for his magic and following the blueprints it didn't take long for him to find the manors treasury there he stuffed the many pockets of his trench coat with as many valuables as he could fit however the crest was no where to be found. This was a bit of an inconvenience but not unexpected, a man like the politician probably valued it more than anything else. If it was not in his treasury where else would it be but with him, in his room where he slept?
So with full pockets he departed in search of the politicians bedroom, walking in near silence through the marble halls despite the fact that his pockets where full of objects such as coins, gems and jewelry. It took a bit of searching but soon he came upon the largest room in the manor and quietly opened the door, silencing its creak with practiced hand. Within the room his target rested comfortable on a massive and luxurious bed, completely unaware of the intruder. His loud snores deafening any other sound the mage might have made as he made a beeline for the nightstand next to the bed. The crest wasn't even hidden, it was just in the top draw resting on a velvet pillow. This man truly was predictable...
The mage departed soon after, walking past the same unconscious guard Blitz had peed on. As soon as he spotted his pet, he motioned for the animal to follow before hauling the wolf back over the fence and slipping off into the night. The guards would soon wake up, unaware of what just happened to them but one would mysteriously be covered in pee and the theft wouldn't likely be discovered until the next morning.
The mage didn't stick around to see that happened once as he headed for the opposite side of town where his horse waited. By morning he would be long gone. Once he was certain that he was in the clear he pulled down his hood and examined the crest more closely. It was cast in solid gold and hand carved by a very skilled artisan. This would certainly earn him quite a bit of money if he could melt it down into a gold bar...

A sudden powerful pressure destroyed any further thought on the subject as the mage came to a sudden halt. It was like magic but yet unlike anything else he had every felt before. He never even had a chance to react to it, too even form a single coherent thought on the subject before he heard his pet let out a startled cry and a blinding white light overwhelmed his vision. His senses went haywire and the next thing he knew was feeling a very frightening sensation his body just seemed to stop working and he was falling. It felt like he was just flung off a massive cliff. He only managed to form one thought at that point. Had he been caught? Even that thought was cut off. A searing pain erupted in his chest as if his heart had suddenly caught on fire and the vicious burning quickly spread throughout his body. It was felt as if someone had just injected venom straight into his heart and every beat spread it further until it engulfed him as a whole. Now normally he had a high pain tolerance due to the life he had led but not now, a single scream of pain escaped his lips and then his body slammed into the ground.
The shock of it all was almost too much, he couldn't see, hear or smell anything and all he could feel was pain of the impact and the residual burning pain of the fire that entered his veins. He had no idea how long it was that he lay there waiting for his senses to recover but he slowly became aware of some things. Warmth, strange chirping noises similar to that of birds, a strange smell in the air and a massive weight on his lower half.
Eventually his vision began to clear though his mind still remained in a muddled and confused state. It was now daylight and he could see Blitz standing about ten feet away, wide eyed and scared looking at him in a way the wolf never had before. Why was it daylight, why was Blitz scared and why was it warm? More importantly however what was this weight on his legs? His head was currently turned to the side, his long golden hair strewn all about him and it took quite a bit of time and effort before he managed to get his body to finally respond to his commands. When he finally was able to move his head, the mage was in for the shock of his life. A massive scaley head covered in sleek, shimmering golden scales pinned his legs down. The mage almost let out a panicked cry but just barely managed to hold it back, instead letting out a squeak in terror. He had never seen a dragon before but he instantly knew it for what it was and it had him pinned. He did not want to wake it.

Missions into Moscow were notorious for going FUBAR very quickly, which was why Zakhar was not surprised by the muzzle of the gun pointed directly at his face. Resigned, of course, but not shocked. "Gentlemen, please. I can explain if you'll kindly lower your weapons." Hands up in a placating gesture, he glanced at Gavriil out of the corner of his eyes and inwardly groaned. His trigger happy brother had his own weapon trained on the second gunman, unflinching. "Not helping. At all." Grating pressed painfully into Zakhar's lower back as the end of the road drew near. They were three floors up and on the balcony of the ibis Moscow Kievskaya, having been attempting to bug a room which would be used by a prominent government agent later that day. Someone had tipped the guards off, and after a brief shootout in the main room which left three guards down and Gavriil with a bleeding shoulder, they were at a stand off on the balcony. Zakhar thanked whichever deity who was listening that silencers were a thing, or half of Moscow's very corrupt police would be on them. And he knew their father would let them be killed in prison for such shoddy work.

Below them, roughly 30 feet below, was the hotels lavish pool. Taking a quick peek down at it, Zakhar braced himself for what was about to happened and inwardly whimpered. He hated swimming. "Well, gentlemen, I can't say it's been fun but we really must go." Shooting the gunmen a charming grin, which earned him the cocking of pistols, Zakhar grabbed at the gaping Gavriil's arm and leaned backwards over the railing.

"Wha- Zakhar don't you dar-!"

Free-falling was always a disorienting experience, and at any other time Gavriil's shrill howling would have been humorous. The water was icy at this time of the year, but luckily there. Zakhar's breath was stolen from his lungs and it took a bit of thrashing to figure out which direction was up. Breaking the surface, he took a second to catch his breath by gulping; and if he looked a bit like a fish then so be it. With bullets raining down in the water from above he wasn't to worried about appearances. Calling his brothers name, Zakhar had a moment of white hot panic when Gavriil wasn't immediately visible. A bullet tore into the water a foot from his shoulder, splashing water into his face and momentarily blinding him. Sputtering, he struck out towards the edge of the pool in the hopes of getting free of the water to get a better angle at the gunmen in hopes of making them take cover long enough for him to spot Gavriil. Of course, it was then that something grabbed his ankle and yanked him under the water again. Kicking out against his assailant there was a moment of pride as his boot came into contact with something hard and he was let go.

Once free, the side of the pool came quickly after and he heaved his heavy body from the water and bolted for the cover of a metal table that had been knocked over the in the other patrons haste to escape. A second after he skidded into cover, Gavriil pulled himself from the water and all but tumbled to his side. "The h*ll did you kick me for?" Gavriil snarled, a purpling bruise already forming along his jaw. Unable to stop himself, Zakhar smirked and shook his head; not unlike a wet dog. Gavriil, of course, was not pleased.
"The h*ll did you grab me for?" There was no hiding his amusement behind his snarky words, even as the gunmen attempted to pick them off. Gavriil simply shot him the evil eye and patted himself down with a sharp curse.
"You better have a weapon, because you're little impromptu jump made me lose mine in the water." Zakhar blinked once, carefully, before groaned aloud. He knew without having to feel his own gun was at the bottom of the pool. Gavriil whacked him on the back of the head. "Idiot!"
"Well, there's no shame in knowing when you're beat." Zakhar mused, shrugging his sopping wet shoulders. "How fast can you get to that side gate?" The two met one another eyes before scrabbling to their feet and all but tripping over one another to get out. A bullet pinged off the stone wall, sending stinging shards across Zakhar's cheek. Neither stopped until they were blocks away, tucked safely into the back of a stinking alleyway as cops cars sped by. Now, relatively safe, the two grinned at one another before bursting out into a fit of barking laughter. The buy was planted very well so the mission was, in the end, a success. Andon didn't need to know about their hairy escape.

"I'll see you back at the meeting point in two hours." Gavriil finally wheezed out, the adrenaline fading. He winced as he prodded his sluggishly bleeding shoulder. "Be safe." Nodding, Zakhar watched Gavriil all but disappear into the gloom of Moscow, hand putting pressure on his bleeding shoulder, before turning to make his own getaway. Suddenly tired, Zakhar cringed at a sudden pressure change that had his ears popping and head aching. Pausing, he leaned against the alley wall and closed his eyes, hoping for the spell to dissipate. After a moment it did and the man sighed in relief. He figured the sudden plunge into the pool from thirty feed had affected his ear drums. But again the attack started as a weird pressure from nowhere, but this time it didn't ease up even as he placed his palms agasint his ears. Face scrunching up, Zakhar had the outer body experience of knowing his mouth was open in a silent scream, eyes squeezed shut as tears pricked at the sides, but not really feeling it. There was nothing but pressure, all encompassing and feeling as if it was going to squeeze at his head until it cracked open. Knees hitting the dirty ground, Zakhar had the brief thought that it was some sort of sonic weapon.

Unable to keep his balance even on his knees, Zakhar felt himself pitch forward, face towards the ground. But instead of hitting the stony alley concrete with his cheek, he was suddenly falling even further. It was much like the leap from the balcony, but instead of knowing there was going to be water to catch him, there was only the knowledge that when he hit the ground it was going to hurt. Gavriil was only going to find a smear of him, blood and bones and clothes but nothing recognizable. He didn't want that, not on Gavriil who was his closest brother. Thoughts of his family were torn away by white light, bright enough to blind. Maybe it was the sun? Because god knew it burnt like it. Burned from the top of his head to the tip of his toes, but focused the most on his chest. Zakhar knew pain, had been shot and stabbed and trained for the physicality of his world from the time he could walk. But this, this was different, deeper. It felt like red-hot barbed wire had been wrapped around his chest, barbs digging keep enough to burn his heart and lung. He knew he was screaming, but for once it didn't matter. For the first time since he was a child he would have begged if it meant it would stop. And he was still falling, but by then he longed for the ground so he could meet it and put and end to the torture.

Finally the ground came, but he didn't break upon it. Instead he hit hip first, having instinctively turned just enough that it wasn't going to be his face or chest that took the brunt. Agony shot up from the now bruised bone and he flopped ungracefully the rest of the way to the ground. Gasping in lung fulls of air, he pressed one large hand over his heart to feel that there was nothing there; no molten wire or burnt flesh. Nothing. He was alive? How was he alive? And what in the h*ll had happened?! Groaning weakly, he used his sense of smell and hearing to try and come up with a location - because birds and insects were not the sounds one would hear in Moscow. The wind ruffling his hair, smelling faintly of flowers and fresh. Not smoggy or acidic like he was expecting. Weird. But not as weird as the gust of warm, foul smelling air that was suddenly blown across him. It was accompanied by something moving in the grass nearby, large enough that he could feel the air being displaced by the movement, the ground faintly shaking.

Snapping open his eyes, Zakhar could not stop his jaw from falling open as he sat up abruptly. Too abruptly, if the pain from his hip and head suggested. But the pain was dulled by surprised horror as he came face to face with a monster. Golden, slitted eyes were peering down at him, fangs as long as the length of Zakhar's hand were less then ten feet from his face as the creature bared them at him. Scrabbling backwards in an awkward crab walk, he gave a startled shout. Pain and disorientation caused his arms to give out and he flopped back onto his back as the monster loomed above him.

"What a pathetic creature you are." The monster voice was surprisingly melodic, a lighter timbre than one would have expected for such a massive creature. Zakhar suddenly wondered who had drugged him and what they'd given him. Because it was good stuff.

The day was nice and warm, hardly a cloud in sight and the village was bustling with the sound of people, all out enjoying the warm weather but Kuro? Kuro was stuck penned in behind the walls of his family home. The dragon sat perched on the top of the manor’s gate, thumping his feet rhythmically against the painted wood as he stared down the hill toward the village. It was a quiet day, and there were about three of his brothers at home, did he really need to be here?

The young man shifted, twisting to look back at the quiet manor where hardly anyone was in sight, most of its inhabitants too busy to be out enjoying the day, unlike him, he never had anything to do but wait around and train with his brothers. Surely it wouldn’t hurt anything if he just went down to the village for a little bit.

After double checking, no one was around Kuro shifted. He slid down the front of the gate enough to hook his feet into the decorative carving on the outside, crouching there for a moment before jumping down. Breaking his fall with a roll as he hit the path before popping back up and dusting off his rather simple outfit, a simple cotton shirt, and black pants, a gift from a foreign friend which he wore all the time despite his family disapproval. Once he had most of the dust off, he smiled and started down the path toward the village.

It didn’t take Kuro long to reach the village, slipping into the crowd easily even though his family was well known, the upside of being the youngest of nine, by the time he came around no one was too interested. Though people still recognized him and as he walked around, he got the occasional ‘hello’ and ‘good morning master Kuro’ but other than that he was mostly left alone as he headed down toward the market square where all the people and refreshments would be.

The dragon might have planned on being gone for just an hour or so, but as it turned out, he ended up spending his entire day out, the weather too lovely and the idea of spending his day wandering about at home seemed like a pointless waste.

The sun was hanging low by the time Kuro started making his way back home, taking his time walking along the outskirts of the village and trying to come up with a good excuse for being gone so long. He’d just mounted the hill, coming into view of the manor’s front gates when the air felt heavy, buzzing around him until suddenly a bright blinding light engulfed him, blocking out the world. In the bl
ink of an eye, the ground under his feet was gone, leaving him feeling like he was tumbling through a white void. That alone would have been terrifying, but then the pain hit. At first, it felt like someone had shoved a white hot poker into his chest, twisting and yanking it around but then the burning spread rapidly through his whole body, tearing a scream from his lungs at the consuming agony. Kuro tried to twist in the void, to find something, anything to tell him how far he was falling, but there was nothing until his surroundings suddenly seemed to shift, shapes started coming into view before he finally hit the ground back first, knocking the breath out of him, leaving him coughing and moaning, but at least the burning was gone.

Above him stretched a clear blue sky, the air filled with the scent of flowers and the sound of nature, not much different than the day that had just ended for him... But this didn’t make sense; it should be dark by now. What kind of spell was used on him and why? No one would go after the ninth son of anything. Despite his confusion and the dull pain in his back, the worst part about all of this was the fact that he was unable to move, it felt like his limbs were tied down, the most he could manage was a twitch of his fingers. He was sure he’d been summoned somehow, but usually, those sorts of things were for short distance and often went wrong if pushed outside of those limits, so if he was still alive he must not have been taken too far from home.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have much time to think about this as a large shadow fell over him, the massive head of a creature coming into view and blocking out the sky.

“Oh sh-” Before he could finish speaking the head dipped down, jaws opening to show large gleaming teeth which closed around… Kuro’s shirt? As gently as a mother cat with her kitten the creature lifted Kuro from the ground, a small rumble leaving it as it started dragging his unresponsive body back toward it, tugging him against it’s furred said before curling up, almost protectively while Kuro himself internally screamed, pretty sure he was just being messed with before eaten.

"Sir, we got three of them!"
"So? Continue the spell!"
"Sir?"
"Go on, you heard me."
"But it takes a lot of resources and just look at those beasts!"
"That doesn't mean anything! For all we know they could be evil!"
"S-sir I thought you said-"
"It was a calculated risk now, get back to work! The more we have, the better!"
"Y-yes sir!"
If the mage thief hadn't been so preoccupied by the dragon that had him pinned he might have paid more attention to the conversation going on in the distance. Even if the accents struck him as strange he was far to busy trying to figure out how to pull himself free from the dragon without waking the beast. His heart was pounding nervously in his chest and it seemed to aggravate the residual pain of the strange burning magic he had encounters. The dragon stirred slightly under the mages struggles and the man immediately froze, rather terrified he glanced around hoping to see something that might provide him with a solution to his current predicament. What he saw was just as terrifying however, there where more monsters, a giant snake and a fluffy thing. What kind of nightmare was this? Had he been his by some sort of strange magic spell that trifled with the mind? How would that make sense though? His kind had almost been hunted into extinction, the last time he had an encounter with another magic user was almost ten years ago and that man had been burning at the stake! He hadn't seen any since and even so why would they attack him like this? He hadn't done anything to deserve it, unless some how that politician had a magic slave or something but that seemed highly unlikely since humans usually killed magic suspected magic users on sight.  The richer the person was whom caught a suspected magic user, the bigger a show they would make out of that persons death! They used it as an opportunity to boost their popularity among both their fellows and commoners. It simply didn't make sense that a man as foolish and power hungry as the politician would stray from the norm.
Then what happened? How did he get here?
His thoughts where interrupted by an unusually loud cough. "Ehem" At first the mage hadn't even noticed but someone had made that noise several times as if trying to get his attention.  The last one was much louder, seemingly enhanced magically as it reverberated around the courtyard. It was loud enough and the voice odd enough that it finally forced the mage to pay some attention as he glanced past the sleeping golden beast.
Beyond where he sat pinned, far across the yard at the foot of a castle where a lot of people and most of them seemed to be watching them. The mage felt his heart drop, what was going on?
The owner of the voice stood behind three rows of heavily armed soldiers, oddly they where dressed in heavy duty metal plate armor. Why would they use that heavy, cumbersome type of armor when they could use lighter and more mobile chain mail? What country even used that kind of armor anymore? The only time he remembered seeing it where the old sets that lined the halls of nobles homes or on a very rare occasion warn at some sort of ceremony. Who where these people? And the mans voice, why did it seem so odd? Listening to it was just plain weird, it was heavily accented to the point it almost seemed like another language entirely, yet he understood it fairly well. The mage couldn't quite put his finger on it but he could feel just a little bit of magic effecting him whenever someone spoke. It was as if these people spoke another language but magically it was somehow translated into something he could understand? He had never heard of or encountered such a magic but that was the only thing that made remotely any sense.
"Greetings heroes! I am sure you may be confused but I will explain why we have summoned you here." the man spoke again. He was on the older side, with curly red hair, a lined face and gey and was dressed quite lavishly. His robes where bright red and purple in color, with strange symbols embroidered in gold and a white fur trim. The way it moved with the speaker made it seem like very soft and fine fabric. His body was adorned with fine jewelry and upon his head sat a small golden crown encrusted with gems. On either side of and behind the speaker  other robed figures buzzed about frantically chanting strange things and drawing symbols in the air with their fingers and upon the stone platform they where standing upon with some sort of white substance. These figures where robed in a denser fabric in a few different dark colors, deep blue, dark green and maroon and most of them seemed to be preforming some sort of magic.
"Hero?" The mage repeated softly a bit shocked, what heroes? He couldn't help but glance down at the stolen golden crest that somehow made it to the ground at his side. He didn't remember dropping it but that seemed to be of least importance at the moment. His entire coat was still weighed down by all the ob
ject he had only just stolen. Surely they couldn't possibly be referring to him? Maybe it was the other people? He couldn't help but cast a subtle glance at the other people and monsters.
"I am sure you are all a bit confused but we have summoned you so that you can save our country, perhaps our world from the dark storm. We can't, so we decided to find help from other worlds. Now basically, those beast besides you? We bound you to them so you can control them for us, that burning you all felt was part of the binding ritual. Let see, uh, yeah if you want to go back home and not get eaten by your new pets I suggest you do as told.."
One of figures robed in blue whom stood closest to the speaker looked absolutely mortified at the mans bluntness and quickly whispered something in the speakers ear."Ah, right I should probably introduce myself and the storm I am the king of this country and the storm is a massive black fog that engulfed our neighboring country. We have lost all contact with the residents there and the fog is slowly spreading and engulfing more and more land. Eventually our country and the other surrounding countries may be engulfed as well. As a result we have all unleashed a collaborative effort over the years to try and figure out what this darkness is, what happened to the residents of that country and how to stop it. Unfortunately kingdoms have gone broke trying to solve this issue and countless people who have been sent out to explore the shadows have vanished without a trace. We are out of resources and people to use so we have decided to turn to you guys. So heroes are you up for this challenge?"
"So wait you just summoned random people from different worlds, bound them to monsters and expect us to save you?" The mage asked flabbergasted as he continued to try and carefully wriggle free from the dragon. He was bound to this thing..? How horrifying. He needed to figure out how to undo this strange magic immediately.
"Yup" That was...a blatantly blunt and cheerful answer from a man who was supposed to be a king.
"That would be preferred, its seems we got ourselves in quite the bind eh, thief?" A voice deeper than any mans suddenly bounced around his skull shocking the mage into silence and then he found himself looking into the eyes of the beast. The dragons deep blue catlike eyes, a shade almost identical to his own suddenly popped open and the wait upon his legs suddenly lessened slightly. The mage couldn't help but let out a yelp of terror as he was suddenly freed and half falling, half scooting backwords as he tried to get away faster than his body still somewhat numb would allow. When the mage finally came to a stop, several feet away the beast let out a deep chuckle that reverberated throughout the places. It was as if it where amused by his terror and soon as the mage was free Blitz placed himself between his person and the dragon, growling softly as if the wolf could actually threaten a dragon.

People were talking about magic and heroes, but all Kuro could focus on was the large wet tongue raking over the side of his face and hair, tugging a clump out of his long braid. He just had to sit there and take it as the beast covered him in licks, a wet nose nuzzling into his neck and making him yelp, a hand reaching shakily up toward the massive head and pushing it back. “H-Hey,” he said softly, pretty sure now that it wasn’t going to eat him.

The head pulled back, a large pair of pure white eyes blinking at him before the head spun around as a figure walked forward, talking about some dark storm, them being connected to these beasts, possible death! It all seemed like a bad dream.

The dragon shifted, gasping as his back protested at the moment, the burning from before still lingering in his bones. Lifting a hand he pushed at the beast’s head, ignoring the annoyed huff it gave him as he shifted to try and look past the fur to the speaker. For the first time, he got a good look at his surroundings, a rundown quart yard but the architecture was a bit off, kind of like the pictures he’d seen from the foreigners, and then there were the people. He wasn’t the only one who seemed utterly lost about this situation. Two other men and two other beasts were there as well, both foreigners and both facing down some creatures of their own, though unlike his theirs was a lot more ferocious looking, his was… fluffy.

Kuro pushed at the paw pressed against his legs, ignoring as it swiped at him while he tried to stand, stumbling and gasping, a hand flying to his chest where the burning sensation had suddenly flared with his movement. There was a growl behind him as the beast got to its feet, stepping forward and slightly over his hunched form, head dipping down to lick at his face again. Kuro didn’t understand any of this; why had he been summoned? Sure he was a dragon, but foreigners didn’t know that, and the other two men looked like much better fighters than he did.

“Excuse me” he called, his voice smooth and gentle but all the same loud enough to carry through the courtyard. “What exactly do you expect us to do about this ‘storm’ I don’t know about the others, but I personally have no power over the weather.”

Zakhar ::
Had he not been preoccupied with staring what would surely be his death straight in the golden eyes, Zakhar would have noticed the chanting nearby. Instead he was paralyzed, like a mouse bitten by a snake. Choking back a hysterical laugh, he knew it was an apt deion. The creature leaned forward, sniffing at him, and Zakhar pressed as close to the ground as possible, hands up in a feeble attempt to save himself. Though in reality had the giant serpent decided to eat him he'd be little more then a mouthful - whole. "Hey, wait! I assure you I don't taste good! Like gun oil and sweat. At least let me bathe first." And hopefully find an escape route. The monster appeared to scowl, then contemplate as if 'yeah, he really was going to swallow him whole'. Which to Zakhar there were much better, more dignified and less terrifying options on how to die. He still wasn't sure this wasn't some bad trip on a drug he'd unknowingly ingested either. Because dragons, or whatever this was, didn't exist.

The air suddenly changed, became charged in a way that was extremely uncomfortable. Cringing, he attempted to scrabble backwards as the serpent whirled is massive head towards a crowd of onlookers, fangs bared in ready to strike. It appeared to freeze for a moment, and was startled about it. Like it couldn't move suddenly to attack. Now was his chance! Stumbling to his feet while ignoring the pain that flared through his body at the movement, he turned to bolt towards the courtyards walls. And of course there was something blocking the exit. Had there not been monsters and dragons in his vicinity, he might have simply given up all together and threw his hands up like a petulant child. Because seriously, there was another dragon right behind him. This one more dragon-like, even larger then the first, and gold. How was this his life!? Skidding to a halt, he attempted to find another exit, but there was a giant, fluffy...thing hugging someone blocking the last one. There was no way he was going to get close to that either.

Before he could contemplate the turn the day had taken, someone began talking. The voice was strange, awkward, and reminded Zakhar a bit of nails on a chalkboard or biting on aluminum foil. Cringe worthy. Brow wrinkling in confused bogglement, Zakhar stared at the king, with his gaudy and frankly horrendous attire and crown. Cosplayers? Maybe, with something in the drinks to make him hallucinate? There was no other answer for what was happening. Because nothing else made a lick of sense. Magic? Monsters? Storms that destroyed countries? The only storms he'd seen that could do that were armies. Someone else spoke up, sounded as bewildered as Zakhar was. Glancing over, he took note of the tall, blonde man beside the golden dragon and figured this was one of the others who was 'bound.' Why was the idiot going along with the king? Didn't he realize there was something hinky going on?

Giving the blond an incredulous look, he snorted in elegantly and this time really did throw his hands up in exasperation. "Look, I ain't buying what you're selling. And I frankly don't give a rats backside about you, or your country, or your imaginary war. Nice trick though, with the 'dragons' and the costumes. Good drugs, I'll give you that." Giving a mocking salute, Zakhar turned and stalked towards the fluffy rabbit...thing. It seemed a safer bet then the other two routes. It seemed perfectly happy squeezing the life out of the poor guy in it's arms, so maybe it would ignore him. Less then two steps later a massive tail dropped in front of him, narrowly missing squashing him beneath it's bulk. It was large enough that even being over six foot he could not see over the top. Stifling a shout, he backed away and right into what felt like a boulder. Looking upwards, he inwardly whimpered. The serpent was glaring down at him, clearly furious about about something.

"I am bound to you, you hairless ape. Thus, you will do as you're told until we no longer are." The serpent hissed, curling it's body around him so that he had to stare right into it's face. "I cannot attack without your consent. Else wise none of you undeveloped pond scum would be breathing." Zakhar could not help but gape at the serpent, pressing agasint it's under scales to escape it's face with the teeth. Hallucination or not, the monster was massive, terrifying, and way out of Zakhar's league without a freakin' bazooka. Only able to nod, he waited until the serpent growled once more before lifting away and aiming it's vicious glare towards the king. Once free, he slowly backed away and shook his head as if to wake himself up. What was happening? Someone else spoke up, and Zakhar looked towards the strange looking guy who'd previously been being cuddled.

"Good question." He grumbled to himself.

Thiago ::
Standing to the side of the courtyard, Thiago watched with lost eyes as monsters, then the humanoids they would be bound to, appeared in bright flashes of light. Poor things. He thought despondently, clasping his shackled hands together tighter; until one of his claws accidentally drew blood. Ignoring the slight pain, he sighed and took a step forward cautiously to get a better look at his upcoming 'charges'. One of the nearest guards grunted in annoyance and backhanded his chest, sending Thiago stumbling back with a huff. It didn't hurt as much as it should, but it reminded him of his place. Head falling so his chin rested on the thick material of his black, leather jacket, he peeked through his bangs at what he could see. Two dragon type beast, one massive and gold while the other was more serpentine and appeared almost as stone. The third beast was...a giant rabbit of sorts? Curious, but he knew better then most not to let apperance deceive. Their bound humanoids looked no different than normal humans, and clearly afraid. If they were frightened of their bound beasts, what would they think of their guide? Cheeks already flushing with humiliation, he kicked at a lose stone with one pawed foot.

Monster! The storm has infected him! Kill the creature! He'd been ready for them to do so, would have happily let them end his miserable existence. Instead guards had shackled him, drug him through the gawking crowds so they could see what they could become if the storm came upon them. The king had questioned him, but Thiago knew nothing. Only what had happened that terrible night, but nothing of interest on how to defeat the storm. Thiago had a feeling, however, the brusque king was not being completely honest that he knew nothing. Something about the man sent the fur along his spine prickling. Luckily the heavy jacket they'd given him when out in public hid some of his deformities, though he knew it was more for the other peoples comfort then his own. It was too hot for the heavy article of clothing, and even standing in the shade as he was he was sweating. But it hid some of the uglier parts of him so was worth the discomfort.

As the king started talking, Thiago kept his own golden eyes on the humans below. Obviously they were disturbed, but two appeared to at least understand the gravity of the situation. The third seemed to think this was all a dream. He'd learn. Trying to keep his tail still, and up out of the way of the guards boots (he'd learned early on that they were prone to purposefully step on it), Thiago tilted his head to the side a bit to better hear. Not that he needed much help, since he could hear even the words spoken between human and monster from this distance. But it made the wind stop whistling in his left one.

Those other two guys whom also had monsters brought up some pretty valid points, though Creus was not sure what he meant by costumes as clearly these men seemed to be wearing normal clothing? Granted it wasn't quite what he was used to seeing however the drug theory had its merit, if it wasn't some sort of magic spell then maybe he inhaled some sort of drug be accident while stealing from the treasury? Also what exactly what did they expect them to do?
"Thats a good question, one with the fluffy monster. Its a question that I do not have the answer to. You all have to go there and figure it out yourself. Also its debatable whether its just a freak weather phenomenon or if someone just straight up opened the gates to the netherworld and unleashed something upon the lands. Your purpose is to figure out what it is, find out how to stop it and then do exactly that."

"One with the giant snake thing, I assure you no drug can do this and I am not sure what exactly you mean by the rest but this is all very much real. If you don't believe me...uh I guess let your monster bite you or something and see if it hurts."

"What makes you think we can figure this out? What makes you think we want too?" The mage asked having a rather difficult time believing the situation himself. He glanced nervously at the golden dragon as he carefully got to his feet, backing away in an attempt to give the creature a wide berth. Unfortunately the creature responded by closing the distance between them in a single half step, the mage and his wolf responded naturally by trying to back further away but the dragon persisted on following until they gave up.

"Well, we don't know if you can figure it out or if you will just vanish like the rest but we decided we might as well try something different then just continuing to throw our precious few knights left into that dark abyss. Also quite honestly, we do not care if you want to do this or not. If you refuse you will never go home. You will be stuck in this country until the day you die, only we have the power to send you and your monsters home. Even if you do not wish to return, I am sure your monsters do."

"You will have three days to familiarize yourself with your monsters and our world. We have a room with beds and some supplies prepared for you. You can buy the rest of the supplies you wish to take with you on your journey in town before you leave and you will be free to come and go from the castle at that time. Should you attempt to run away, well your beasts can handle that. A guide will be prepared to lead you to the storm,"
The king stated and with a wave of his hand the armor plated knights parted and he started toward the castle, they followed. "You will be lead to your rooms. The monsters can stay outside." The king added as a few of the knights departed the group and hesitantly took a few steps toward the three and their beasts before pausing and waiting as their king vanished into the castle.
"Yeah, I'm leaving.." The mage stated dryly as he tried to skirt around the dragon and head for the courtyard wall behind them. He would figure out some way to climb the thing and get both Blitz and himself out of this crazy situation.
"No your not." This time the dragon both out loud and sternly, its voice just as deep as the first time he heard it in his head. The mage couldn't even take more than a few steps before a stream of fire cut him off and Blitz off. The white wolf jumped back with a startled yelp though he wasn't hurt. Creus hesitated for a moment, what was the best option now? Attempt to get past this dragon or cooperate with this crazy quest? Honestly he was terrified of both but there was only one dragon...
Although terrified he firmly decided he would rather try taking on the dragon first. It was just fire right? He had magic that could counter that, though he wasn't necessarily a fan of the idea of using his magic around strangers. He still went for it though, drawing upon his energy he formed a small bluish energy shield around himself and his wolf and began to walk through the fire. Success, as soon as he was on the other side he bolted for the wall but the dragon reacted faster than what seemed possible for its massive size. In one smooth movement it swooped him up in its massive paw shattering the shield, spun around and planted him firmly pack on the ground facing the castle with bone jarring force. Now pale as ghost the mage immediately conceded the dragons point and began to walk numbly toward the castle, frightened nearly to death.
"Yup....gonna save the world...totally going to do that...." So terrified and shaken by that event the mage nearly felt tears welling up in his eyes. He didn't dare attempt anything else but obediently follow the guards to the room. The castle wasn't all that much to speak of, it bore the same shabby appearance as the courtyard  with mostly barren stone walls decorated with the occasional painting or tapestry. Here or there was the occasional stone carving or decorative pottery and the floor was tile like stones covered with the occasional carpet. The place was absolutely massive though, hallways nearly ten feet tall wound this way and that with staircases in the seemingly most random locations. It was like a hundred different people built this place, all with different ideas of how a castle should look and what should go where. One could easily get lost in this place and it took nearly half an hour of walking before the knights finally stopped outside a room and opened the door.
Inside was drab, small and cramped. It was certainly not a room meant for distinguished guest, much less three people judging by the uncomfortable close proximity of the three beds that sat inside. It was as if someone took a small room meant for a single servant or something and crammed three beds inside. The rooms sparse furnishings where all pressed tightly to the walls and the consisted of a small table and chair set, a night stand and a single trunk. On the opposite side of the wall was another door which currently hung wide open and lead into what appeared to be a bathroom. One each bed was a simple leather satchel each of which contained a verity of objects though none where quite the same and more worryingly was the strange vials that stuck out of each one. Each bag had four different vials, each different in shape and size and each filled with different colored liquids, no two looked alike. To the side of the satchels where coin bags, the mages eyes where immediately drawn to them.
"No, bad thief, bad."
The dragons sudden chastising remark made the thief flinch, he hadn't even thought of stealing them yet!

Zakhar ::
Listening to the king finish his speech, Zakhar grumbled and scoffed disbelievingly at different intervals. This was all a load of bull as far as he was concerned - no matter how vivid the details. Of course as soon as the gaudy man mentioned the serpent biting him to prove it was indeed real, Zakhar cringed and took a quick step away from the gleeful gaze of his 'bonded monster'. "Uh, no I'm good. Thanks though." Even in times of danger, Zakhar's brothers had always bemoaned his retched sense of timing when it came to sarcasm.  Giving the serpent a smile that was mostly  teeth he attempted to look nonplussed. The serpent simply snorted and slithered slightly closer in a clear attempt to intimidate him. Sadly, it worked.

Movement of the golden dragon tore Zakhar's attention from his own snake problem, and he watched with sudden interest as the blonde man attempted to escape. If he managed without getting killed, then Zakhar would try next. And if he did die? Well, Zakhar would know what not to do. But of course the blonde just had to add to his day of weird by summoning some sort of blue energy shield around himself and his ...wolf? Zakhar needed a drink. "Well h*ll," He hissed to himself. Of course it didn't seem any of them were getting away that easily, and the blonde was suddenly tossed back into the courtyard like a ball of yarn being batted by a very large cat. "Nice try buddy." He called out, simply because he could. If the blonde heard, he didn't respond and wobbled after the guards.

"If you try anything like that, your landing will not be near so kind." Serpent growled, flaring his massive white wings. Zakhar simply whimpered and turned to follow the blond man. If you couldn't fight the crazy, you might as well join them. He thought to himself, shoving past a guard  with a curse as he began jogging to keep up with the other outsider. The walk was long, and the decor left a lot to be desired so Zakhar instead focused on escape routes and hiding places. There were a lot of stairs and hallways, but without knowing where they ended they were dangerous options. Though no more dangerous than the serpent outside. Maybe he'd wake up in the morning and be passed out in the alley back in Moscow? Heck, even being captured and held for ransom would be preferable. At least then he knew there was a chance of rescue. Because as much as they bickered, he knew his brothers would come for him. A sudden weight dropped onto his shoulders, because through all the hardships he'd gone through in his life he always knew he wasn't isolated. But here, in this drug induced hallucination or whatever it was, he was alone. It didn't sit well. He'd kill, literally, for Gavriil, Kazimir, or Lazar to be at his back. H*ll, he'd even take Luca or Ilia at this point.

Finally the journey ended and they were unceremoniously shoved into a small, dank room with three beds. "Seriously," He deadpanned, throwing an sneer at the guard. "I've seen better rooms in the seedy section of Amsterdam." From the blank look the guard gave, he knew the reference was lost on him. Who doesn't know what Amsterdam is like? He thought, approaching one of the beds and the bag on it. But unlike the blonde, he didn't touch it, simply flung himself across the lumpy mattress and internally contemplated what to do next. "So, any other bright ideas Blondie?" He asked the stranger, brown eyes sharp and voice laced with sarcasm, before remembering there was supposed to be a third. Maybe his fluffy rabbit had eaten him? Lucky him. Just in case he shifted onto his uninjured hip on the bed so he could keep a better eye on the door as well as offer his back protection from the wall.

Thiago ::
As the mage was tossed back by his dragon, Thiago cringed and hunched his shoulders a bit. The guards around him rumbled unhappily, clearly expecting some sort of fight. Instead, the mage simply turned and followed the guard docilely, clearly cowed by his dragon. Sadness flicked across Thiago's face as he watched another of the bound humans follow along after a scathing retort from his own serpent. If these bound were not strong enough to handle their monsters then what hope did the people of this world have? Either the monsters would do what they'd come to do, perish during the fight, or their bound humans would die and they could go on a rampage until sent back to their worlds. The butt of a spear prodded between his shoulder blades, sending him stumbling forward. "Come on cur, the sooner you get to planning with these outsiders the sooner we can get rid of you."

Shooting the guard a weary look, Thiago allowed another chain to be linked with the ones on his wrists so he could be tugged along. They took a different route than the others, and every now and then he'd hiss as a boot caught his tail under its heel.

Kuro wasn’t pleased with this ‘king’s’ answers as he non-to gently replied that they were nothing more than cannon fodder because he’d risked enough of his people and apparently the only good idea he could come up with was to kidnap people and force them to help?

“Crappy idea from a crappy person” The dragon muttered under his breath, getting a resulting snort from the beast still pressed against him.

Tell me about it, and he had the audacity to call me a beast.”

Needless to say, Kuro wasn’t expecting the creature to talk, let alone for that voice to be in his mind. It was musical and rumbling but all mental, leaving Kuro to gape up at the creature who snorted again, dipping her head down to headbutt him gently. “Silly pup, of course I can talk.

“And apparently read minds?”

“Oh, only some times. Yours is like an open book, worrying about me eating you, silly, silly pup.”

This new development was weird, to say the least, but Kuro was more curious than anything, though his curiosity would have to wait as he heard the other talking again, the golden-haired man declaring he wasn’t going to put up with this as he turned and tried to get around the… dragon? Kuro had seen pictures of western dragons, but he’d never seen one, and judging by the smell this being, though different than Kuro’s kind, was indeed a dragon. Both man and fluffy beast watched as the mage marched past the dragon, summoning up a shield to block the fire which had Kuro sighing, already seeing where this was headed, though the dragon didn’t seem too aggressive so he doubted the man would be harmed.

Sure enough, the foreigner was thrown back by the dragon, causing Kuro to flinch but ultimately do nothing as he watched the man and dragon interact, the human clearly scared of the dragon's hulking form as he turned and scurried away with the guards. A movement to the side caught Kuro’s attention as he turned to see the other human hurrying after the first, seeming eager to abandon his own ‘beast.’

“You must go, little one” that gentle rumble entered his mind again and Kuro looked up to see those silver eyes looking back down at him. “It’s okay, I doubt these humans will harm you, and I feel that if they tried you’d put up more of a fight than they’d expect.”

“Honestly” Kuro muttered but complied as he was nudged forward, glancing nervously at the remaining guards staring him down. He paused for a moment to look back at the gathered ‘beasts,’ curious about the western dragon and more than a bit wary of the snake creature. It gave off a very unwelcoming feeling.

One of the guards stepped forward and Kuro snapped his gaze to the man, taking him and his weapon in before he sighed and shrugged, shooting the human a charming smile.

“Don’t get antsy, I’m coming,” he said, falling into step with the guards, smiling and calm while still wary of them, watching those pointy spears.

The castle they entered was winding and shoddy as if thrown together by idiots or built over an extended amount of time by many other people. Kuro did his best to keep track of each turn, each stairway, but soon he was beyond lost, any hope of leaving on his own gone, though the option of jumping out a window was always there if things went wrong. Eventually, they reached a door which one of the guards pushed open, revealing a small room with three beds packed in, the other two men already there.

Apparently Kuro hesitated for a moment too long as he felt a hand on his back, shoving him forward, the dragon stumbling a bit before he caught his footing, the door thumping closed behind him.

“Well, this has been quite the warm welcome hasn’t it?” he sighed, straightening up and adjusting his shirt as he turned his gaze to the two men, tilting his head slightly as he took them in. They were both clearly fighters, though the golden-haired mage looked like more of a quick sort of fighter while the other man seemed more like one good at hand-to-hand combat or using weapons, like Kuro’s oldest brother. It was clear he was out of place in this bunch, for once the ‘foreigner’ in a group.

After a moment Kuro cleared his throat and moved over to the only open bed, eyeing the sack before skirting around it and settling onto the lumpy mattress, pulling his legs up and tucking them under himself as he looked around the room, mismatched eyes taking in every detail, every crack, checking the windows for latches or bars. All in all, it would be pretty easy to get out of here if they needed to, but going out the window would be hard for the other two since they were human as far as he could tell, flying probably wasn’t something they could do. Thinking of the human’s he looked back to them, hesitating and chewing on his lip nervously before he cleared his throat again. “So,” he said hesitantly, not sure how to talk to these strangers. “As long as we’re stuck in here we might as well learn each other's names. I’m Kuro Sasaki…” he introduced himself, trailing off to let one of the other’s speak up.

So this was a guy he had to work with? The mage ignored his sarcastic comment and moved to the bed furthest from him, leaving the middle bed open for the last guy. The beds where so close together there was less than a foot of space between them. Hopefully he would seem more pleasant, but none of it truly mattered as the mage was still stuck on the idea of finding an escape route and freeing himself from that dragon. The encounter he just had with it had been terrifying but at least he learned a few things, one it refrained from hurting him. First it did not attempt to simply burn him when he tried to run but rather it tried to use the fire to cut him off. Second when it grabbed there was no doubt in his mind that it could have easily crushed him and lastly magic was definitely not very useful against it. That had been a relatively high level shield spell and it seemed to have destroyed it fairly easily.  It didn't want to hurt him, at least not yet and that was something that might potentially be useful. Furthermore based on the beasts reaction to all this, it very likely wanted to go back to its home world.
It was really just a sprinkling of information but at least it was a little something to work with.
Even if he could find a way to undo the binding spell as he originally thought things may not necessarily go well. At least that would be the case if that dragon still believed that he was integral in the process of it being able to go home. So what now? If he could convince it that it didn't need him to go home and he was unable to do the binding spell would he be able to escape then? What about himself, would he be able to find his way home without relying on these people whom summoned him there?
"Don't even think about it."
The mage still couldn't help but flinch a the dragons voice in his head. Could it really read his mind?
"Yes"
Well that made things even more complicated. The mage let out a reluctant sigh and sat down on his chosen bed and began to examine the contents of the satchel he had chosen, looking up only briefly as Blitz shoved his way past the guards and hopped up onto the bed next to him and plopped down with a grunt. The wolfs large size took up the majority of the small mattress. "Your going to have to share you know?" The mage muttered to the white wolf but otherwise ignored the animals presence. Where had Blitz been anyway? The wolf must have briefly wandered off and then tracked them back down again.
At least if he wanted to escape the castle he could possibly just try to follow the wolf out. He had been working on teaching him how to track things on command and it was going sort of well. Perhaps he could try to have the wolf track their trail through the castle back to the door they had entered though the idea certainly had its risks.
Returning his attention to the satchel he carefully set aside the strange vials a bit afraid of what they might do. He would have to ask someone about them. There wasn't much else to write hope about the satchels contents, a few different styles of knives which had clearly been used and resharpened. A length of rope, a relatively large folded oiled cloth, a fire striker made of flint and iron and a book written in a language he could not read. So basic survival gear and a seemingly useless book. Just what he needed...
When the last of the men walked in the mage initially only acknowledged him with a brief glance before returning to digging about in the satchel hoping to find something a bit more useful. at least he ignored the others into the last one to arrive cleared his throat and began to speak. In truth the mage didn't really feel like introducing himself, he wanted nothing to do with any of this but he supposed there was no need to be rude.
"Creus, and the wolfs name is Blitz." The mage stated shortly before adding "He won't bite as long as no one provokes him." As he spoke he glanced at the other guy, considering the seemingly dumb move he made earlier he supposed he probably did deserve that bit of sarcasm."Are you two going to go along with this crazy quest?" He might as well try to at least gain a basic understanding of these two. Who where they and where they potentially dangerous to him and any plans he might come up with? Having to spend a night or three in the same room as these complete strangers was far from favorable. The only bonus was that he still had Blitz,  so at the very least he had an ally.
A knock on the door silenced the mage for a moment as a guard relayed some information. "Tomorrow morning we will have a guide fetch you from your rooms and take you out into town if you wish to pick up supplies. The guides appearance is rather freakish, you may attack if you wish but I suggest you don't hurt him too badly for now. You may find him useful."
What kind of introduction was that? You may attack him? What was this freakish thing and why did the guard seem to have so little empathy for it?  It seemed rather cruel but the mage supposed he would just have to hold out to see if that was truly the case.

Zakhar ::
Having someone ignore him was not uncommon to Zakhar, considering his father was the definition of negligent parent and many of his older brothers were aloof; so when the blonde didn't respond he simply smirked to himself and attempted to get more comfortable on the bed. Not that it worked. The pack he'd been given was still at the end and he had the sudden urge to kick it off. Still, something in there might be useful so best not to break it. Yet. Finally giving in to weary boredom, because the blonde was obviously as 'chatty' as his older brothers, Zakhar sat up and pulled the bag onto his lap. Inside was a mismatch of different objects, ranging from nearly useless to 'eh'. Pulling out on of the shoddy blades, he tested its sharpness with his thumb and scowled. "Shouldn't have lost my gun in the pool." And to add insult to injury, knife-fighting wasn't his best ability. Sure, he could do it, he'd had to learn, but he preferred guns.

Shoving the blade back into the bag, Zakhar ran his fingers over the flint and tried to remember if he even could light a fire with one of these. He wasn't a boyscout! Cussing under his breath, Zakhar dropped the bag over the side of the bed and looked towards the crumbling ceiling. If this was a hallucination, it was very vivid and it was going on an awfully long time. "Please wake up." Something large and white suddenly caught his attention and he bit back a shout of surprise as a wolf padded in and jumped on the blonds bed as if it were a dog. "Your crazy." He told the blond, deadpan, before rolling his shoulders and eyeballing the potential predator. Of course, considering the monsters outside, how bad could a wolf be?

The third man was unceremoniously shoved into the room, with the guard telling them about some guide they could rough up. Whatever. The trip into town, however, was what caught his attention. A town meant alleys and people, so maybe there was a chance of escaping then. As a grifter, blending in and disappearing was something he actually was good at. If the serpent was left behind, then all the better. Voices brought him out from his plans of escaping and he realized the other two were giving their names. He probably needed to know those, since he couldn't keep calling them apperance based nicknames if they were supposed to save this world; or whatever dumb crap they were supposed to do. So the guy with the strange eyes was Kuro, and blondie was Creus. And the d*mned wolf was Blitz. Lovely. Realizing there was a chance he was going to be stuck with them for sometime he decided playing nice was his best bet. He'd prefer not to work alone in this strange world, and having a form of ally was better then being stuck with the serpent.

"Zakhar." At Creus' question, he paused to think about his answer. Was he? "I'm still not positive this isn't some really vivid, drug induced, coma dream alright? However, seeing as there's not a better option outside of being eaten by my bonded beast or stuck in this godforsaken wasteland, I'll give it a shot." Either that, or he'd wake up. "Unless, of course, the chance to escape pops up. Then I'm gone." He wasn't going to lie about it.

Thiago ::
Once his tiny room came into view, Thiago was shoved inside and the door was locked from the outside. With a cot to one side and an even tinier bathroom adjoined, it wasn't much; but it was better then the cells he'd started in. He'd been allowed the room for the past two weeks while the king summoned his monsters, with an attendant keeping him updated every couple of days on his role in the entire thing. He was little more then fodder for the kingdom and he knew it. Tail drooping to the ground, Thiago padded to the small window that over looked the courtyard and peered out. He missed his home, his family, and his freedom. Missed being outside under the sun, working with his horses and his father, taking care of the homestead. Having been confined to the cells and room for so long, with the cruel guards tossing food and water skins in when they remembered, he was beginning to wonder if he wouldn't simply drop to his knees and weep the moment he was outside of the castle walls.

Chuffing in a wet breadth, Thiago blinked as his eyes stung and he quickly turned away from the window. Now wasn't the time to lose his composure, not when he had a mission to complete. A mission he would not come back from, gods willing. The cot was cold and hard, but he ignored it as he sat and shucked the heavy jacket so that the fur of his mane was no longer confined. He wondered if women got that achy feeling when they finally let their hair down after it had been pulled tight in a ponytail all day - because of so he felt bad for them. Reaching back over his left shoulder, Thiago cringed as his fingers touched the soft fur that lined his spine and gave a disgusted snarl. Of course the sound only made his despair worse. Humans couldn't snarl, or yowl, or growl like he now could. Unable to stop them, tears rolled silently down his cheeks and he wiped them away viciously, unconcerned that his claws left red welts across his face. Thiago knew it wasn't just the physical changes that hurt so much, though they were awful, but by seeing and touching them it simply reminded him that he'd gotten off lightly. He'd not been torn to shreds, left a rotting corpse in a small farmhouse instead of being properly buried. Dropping his head into his hands Thiago curled up tighter on the bed, tail wrapping around his legs like a fluffy shield.

“Creus, blitz, and Zakhar” Kuro repeated. Odd names but they were the least weird thing about all of this situation. “It’s nice to meet you all,” he said politely with a small smile, scooting back toward the head of the bed, his back thumping lightly into the wall as he positioned himself so he could see both men almost at the same time. The golden-haired man, Creus was it? He asked about if they were going to follow along with all of this, the other man, Zakhar, replying bluntly that he’d go along with it until he saw an opportunity to escape, this was logical but also very stupid. “Well,” the dragon said carefully, leaning back against the wall and watching them both, resting his hands in his lap. “We don’t really know where we are. While escaping is the most obvious thing It might also be the most dangerous. I’m by no means happy about all of this but until I can see a way to get free and home I don’t see much of a choice than to do as we’re asked.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than there was a knock at the door, a guard opening it and announcing that they’d have a guard. The way the guard talked about their guide had Kuro visibly bristling, eyes narrowing as the man as he retreated. These people were getting on his nervous, treating the creatures they summoned as nothing more than mindless beasts, and now even one of their own people?

Taking a deep breath the dragon finally focused on the bag at the end of his bed, hesitating before he shifted, leaning forward on one knee to hook his fingers into the bag and drag it over to him, glancing inside at all the bottles and other survival gear. Ignoring the bottles, for now, he reached in to pull out one of the knives in his bag, turning it around carefully in his fingers before lifting it and checking the blade, letting out a small snort as he saw the edge wasn’t completely flat, though there was no surprise there. If their castle looked like this, he doubted they would give cannon fodder any good weapons.

“Looks like we’ll have to somehow get some good weapons on our own”

Well, Creus could agree with both their points of view, he wanted to escape just like that guy Zakhar said but fully agreed with the other that it could be very dangerous. "Escaping sounds like a good idea but there are a few problem, one how will you get home? Two what happens if your beast finds you? I don't know about you guys but that golden dragon made one thing very clear with its actions. It wants to go home and likely sees me as its key to going home. If the beasts all think similarly then we won't have to worry about this...kingdom hunting us down if we run. The beasts will do it for them and I would not be shocked if through the binding ritual exist some way for the beasts to pinpoint our locations and perhaps us pinpoint the beasts. Alhough I am not familiar with this worlds magic in my world magic is very flexible so to speak, with the right knowledge and skill set you can add just about anything into a spell." The mage stated, he wasn't sure where these guys came from but he was fairly certain that they where not from his world. He couldn't even begin to what the places they came from where like. "Our best course of action is probably just to try and learn as much as we can, my first thought was to try and find a way to undo the binding spell but that may be very dangerous for us. Especially if the beasts think they need us to go home, the last thing we would want to do is set them free. On the other hand if we can figure out how to get ourselves home, who knows how those monsters will react unless we figure out how send them home first. Unless you two have any other ideas?"

"Tomorrow would probably be a good idea to try and learn about this place, perhaps once this guide leads us into town we can ditch him, split up and see what information we can find on our own? I don't really know how intelligent these beasts are but perhaps if we can convince them that we are merely seeking any information to try and get us all home they will go along with it. That or hunt us down and do who knows what with us." All this was mostly just conjecture on the mages part. He was curious to see, what if any opinion or thoughts these guys had about this situation. Furthermore, the more they spoke the more they might reveal about who they were and where they came from. Considering they may have no choice but to work with each other having even a basic idea of who everyone was might be useful but he didn't want to reveal to much information about himself either after all these two could turn out to be enemies.  "Do either of you have magic in your world?"
As the mage asked his last question his wolf suddenly started growling softly, his fur standing on end as the animal stared intently at the door, momentarily silencing his person whom looked apprehensively at the door. A few minutes later he heard a strange rattling noise like a rickety cart and it was slowly getting closer. Blitz's growl grew louder as it neared their door, then all of a sudden the animals entire demeanor changed. The wolf jumped off the bed and charged over the the door, whining eagerly, wiggling excitedly and clawing at its wooden frame. A bit of saliva dripped from his mouth, as soon as the mage saw this he relaxed and chuckled softly. Only one thing would cause the wolf to react that way.
A knock sounded on the door before a deep, gruff male voice could be heard. "Food is here." Seconds later the door latched turned and it creaked open revealing a tall, somewhat hefty man bearing a nearly bald head and clothes that where both soaked with sweat and had all kinds of stains. Behind him where several guards, tense and ready in case the new comers tried to run. At first the man tried to shove the cart inside the room, which might have fit if there where not the extra beds but there was no room now. After trying a couple of times the man gave in with a grunt, hesitated for a moment as he eyed them and the wolf, whom had backed off after nearly getting run over and then he grabbed the tarnished pewter platters and handed one to each of them and practically slammed some old chipped mugs and a large flask of something down on the table and started to walk out the door. "Um, can I get something for the wolf?" The mage asked eyeing his plate of food, he didn't recognize any of it. The gruff man paused for a moment, glared back at the mage and replied very bluntly. "No" The man slammed the door behind him and within seconds the cart rattled away. "Well..." The mage said left at a loss for words. Blitz snuffled the plate looking a bit confused by what he smelled but after a moment the wolf sat down and whined, clearly hungry. "I guess we have to share.." Not that the mage really minded, he wasn't sure how well he could stomach all this foreign stuff anyway. At least they had normal silver ware, he picked up the fork pushed around the food some before flicking a bit that resembled meat to the wolf whom snapped it out of the air. The wolf didn't swallow it right way like usual though, he paused and played with it a bit clearly unsure but then ate and asked for more. Honestly it looked more like dungeon food than anything edible but he supposed if the wolf ate it then it probably wouldn't kill him. Hopefully if they refused to feed the both of them then he could find something in town tomorrow to feed the wolf, other wise he would have no choice but to split his meals. He would go hungry before Blitz ever did.

(Would you guys like to do some sort of discord server thing?)

Zakhar ::
Poking despondently at one of the blades that was stuck haphazardly out of the side of the bag he'd been given, Zakhar side-eyed Kuro wearily as he spoke. Escaping might be dangerous, and stupid, but then again did he not realize how dangerous this mission was going to be? Pulling the knife from the pack, he twiddled it between his fingers subconsciously. Creus did have a point about getting home, though. As much as Zakhar hated to admit. The longer was was there, in the decrepit castle surrounded by these oddballs, the more he was beginning to think the entire thing was real. There were monsters and magic; and not just fairly tales made to scare children. His day had taken a surreal turn and he hated it. In his world Zakhar and his ilk were the boogeymen. With their numbers, skills, and guns people feared and respected them. Here? He was at the bottom of the totem pole. Without his gun he felt naked and vulnerable, which in turn made him snappish and hostile. Zakhar knew this, but being defenseless made him twitchy and he wasn't keen on altering his personality to suit this new world. At least not if he wasn't grifting. Which, there was an idea.

Taking a deep breath, Zakhar turned his attention from the other two men and focused, like he'd been taught, on a plan. Forging ahead willy-nilly would just get him killed and that was not exactly a desirable outcome. He wanted to see his family again, his world. So maybe he needed to stop seeing the entire situation as something completely foreign. It was a mission, plain and simple. Grifting was his greatest skill, so that's what he needed to do. Become a persona; spy, steal, and lie to get all the pieces he'd need to complete his mission, as Andon would expect of his son. Nodding to himself, he instantly felt a weight lifted off his shoulders. A plan, a plan was good. First and foremost he needed the basics, which was information on this world and the Storm. His companions for the moment were his best sources of intel as well as the guide they were supposed to meet in the morning. Creus at least was obviously familiar with magic, so in Zakhar's eyes he was more useful. Kuro, though, seemed more friendly so actually getting him to talk would be easier. Hopefully. After he got the information he needed then he'd need to assess his relationship with his beast. The Serpent was one of his biggest problems, since it obviously disliked him. But it wanted to go home as well, so it was a potential ally. He'd just need to convince it of that. After he had those pieces put together, then he would be able to tell if escaping or actually going through with the kings plans was a better idea.

First-and-foremost, however, he needed to at least stay amicable with the other two men. Returning his attention to Creus, he caught the tail end of the blonds speech. "Sorry, but frankly I didn't understand parts of what you were saying." Zakhar mused, giving Creus an apologetic shrug. "Binding rituals? Spells? Where I come from you talk like that and you're going to get thrown into an Nut House. We'd think your crazy." Sighing, he sprawled back against the wall at the edge of his bed. "Safe to say we don't have magic in my world. Guns, computers, people flying around space, sure, but no hocus-pocus."  Pausing again, he noted that one of the vials he'd been given was under the bag instead of in it. Leaning forward, he picked up up and examined the murky liquid inside. "I don't want to know." He muttered to himself, before shoving it into one of the outer pockets of the bag. "But, you seem to know what you're talking about when it comes to the magic crap, so I'll defer to you when it comes to that. Just don't expect me to take orders from you on any other subject." He warmed, a note of amusement in his voice. "You'll probably learn quickly that besides my father, I don't take orders from anyone else very well. It's a family flaw."

"As for ideas, until I know more about this world and exactly what we're getting into I don't have anything. If this Storm thing ends up being a suicide mission like the kings seems to suggest it could be, then I'd rather take my chances with the beast. Worse comes to worse, we could find the wizards or whatever and make them send us back." He flicked the knife around his hands in an intricate patterns to silently emphasize how he'd make them do as he wanted. "But, we'll see how the information gathering goes tomorrow before I'll decide anything concrete." The apperance of the chef and 'food' had Zakhar perking up. At least until he saw what they were given. Scowling, he poked at what on the platter and sniffed. "The h*ll is this crap?" It didn't taste any better than it looked, he quickly realized and attempted a few more bites and he watched Creus and Blitz. The fact there was a wolf in the room still freaked him out a bit. After a moment his stomach decided it didn't care for the food at all and he sat the platter to the side with a disgusted grimace. "I've had better food in a backwoods village in Peru." Luckily, he'd gone a couple of days without food before when on jobs for his father so one night wasn't going to bother him. Hopefully the town tomorrow will have something decent. Listening to the blonde speak to Blitz, he motioned towards hi unfinished plate. "He an have whats left if he wants it. No use it going to waste." Plus, maybe if the wolf was fed it would be less likely to take a chunk out of one of them in the night. " So, your world have magic?" He asked Kuro, once agasint leaning back against the wall.

OoC :: Not going to post Thiago since he's not doing much of anything. He'll reappear when called the next day.

The conversation had started pretty okay; they all seemed to be getting along well enough, that is until Creus spoke of the golden dragon and called him and the others ‘beasts.’ This wasn’t a rare thing; people who’d never met dragons before often viewed them as simply very intelligent animals, but then the man changed his wording, calling them ‘monsters.’ Kuro tensed and forced himself to bite his tongue on this one, letting the two men talk and staying as far out of the conversation as he could get.

If these humans thought their new companions were monsters what would they think of him? The mage seemed more worried than aggressive about the creatures, but he made it clear he didn’t see his dragon as much more than just some big dangerous animal, that was worrying. If Crues kept up this attitude he’d never get far with the dragon… and then there was the other one.

Kuro turned his attention to the other human as he spoke, explaining that he had a world with no magic, just a bunch of things that didn’t make sense: Computer’s, people in space? None of that made sense, though he did, however, understand the gun part. That was a new weapon the foreigners had brought, and it caused a lot of deaths and robberies almost right away until the guardians, like his family, stepped in to help stop the madness. All of this told him that Zakhar was probably a man of action more than words, most likely to attack first instead of try and talk things through. Honestly, both of them seemed like they’d make this whole ‘mission’ a mess if they didn’t end up getting along.

Kuro curled up at the head of the bed, listening but silent until the wolf, Blitz, started barking, causing the man to start and mutter a curse, turning his attention to the door. He tensed at the slowly approaching squeak of metal on metal, only relaxing when the door opened, and the man with a cart of what he assumed was food, stepped in. Kuro moved to the middle of the bed so he could reach the offered plate, watching the man leave then looking to the other two, judging their reactions. They made it clear that the ‘food’ was far from good, but Blitz seemed to think it was okay to eat so Kuro slowly started eating his own, frowning at how utterly bland and rubbery it was, bad but not something he couldn’t stomach, hungry after a day of running around in his own world before this.

The Dragon would have been entirely content if the other two men simply forgot about their conversation and focused on eating, but of course, he couldn’t be that lucky, the human Zakhar asking Kuro if his world had magic. Kuro paused, lowering his fork to his plate and hesitating, clearly unsure how to answer before he placed his food to the side.

“Yes,” he said slowly, looking between the two. “Most everything in my world has to do with magic, technology, weapons, learning… there is hardly a child who can’t use a simple healing spell” As he spoke he was clearly nervous. “I.. um. Well, I can… am.” He struggled to gather his words and finally sighed, rubbing at the back of his neck, his fingers pushing aside his thick black braid and revealing a bit of the vibrant blue and red ‘tattoo’ there. “I guess you could say that I personally can ‘do’ magic as well but it’s not the way you do magic, Creus, or how many humans do magic I.. I’m not sure how to say this because…” he trailed off, looking from one human to another before letting out a heavy sigh.

“Ugh, I have a feeling this won’t go well, but I hate lying so I’ll just say it straight up. Unlike you two I am not human. I am… in a way, very much like our companions outside. I am what you seem to want to call a ‘beast’” With that Kuro straightened up, waiting for them to freak out, demand answers, call the guards… or simply not want to talk to him, that seemed the usual human reaction to learning that someone that looks like them, talks like them, and enjoys a lot of the same things as humans is indeed not human at all.

Well, Creus did know what crazy meant but he had never heard the term nut house before. Honestly it sounded like a place people stored nuts? However it was clearly used in a completely different context then the food. He could only guess that it was some sort of terminology that came from Zakhars world and it was just as unfamiliar as everything else he mentioned. "I have never heard of any of those things, nut house, guns, computers, hocus pocus? As for magic, in my world it can very much get someone killed. People fear it to the point where they have pretty much hunted magic users to extinction. Usually lords and nobles will host great parties where a suspect if burned at the stake..."
Was Zakhars world like his but long after magic users had been wiped from existence? Had they never existed at all? However he did say people flew, how else would they do that if they didn't have magic? Did they have flying beasts or something? The mage found this to be a bit of a curious conundrum but he wasn't about to start questioning the guy further considering his somewhat hostile attitude, he wasn't even quite sure why this man would even think he would try giving him orders? Was that just a product of his world? "You won't have to worry about that, if I think some magic is dangerous I will be sure to speak up however I am not familiar with this worlds magic. How you respond to that is up to you." In other words if he got himself killed the mage certainly wouldn't take responsibility for it.
"We can try that, but there is no guarantee that they won't try to pull some sort of trick. They may very well just teleport us into the maw of a beast and set it free to eat us. I would be weary about what they might try if we use force. Though if  there was some way we can guarantee that they would actually send us home, then its not a half bad idea."
What the heck was a peru? Another weird term but it sounded like some sort of destination. The mage didn't comment on this, instead he picked a bit more at his food letting the wolf sample everything first. After his initial few tries Blitz hesitation reguarding the food greatly diminished and as if understanding Zakhars offer the wolf approached the man and snapped up food from his plate without hesitation.
While his wolf ate the mage listened as Kuro spoke of his own world. A world where everyone knew magic? To the mage whom rarely ever encountered a magic user and was used to being hunted for his ability, that seemed truly unbelievable and amazing at the same time. It was hard to wrap his mind around the concept of other worlds and how different they where from the life he knew. The mention of a world full of magic almost made him miss how nervous the guy seemed to be however he caught on the moment he started stammering over words. The mage listened carefully but he wasn't fully sure he understood what this man meant. First of all what was human magic where he came from? Secondly how was that different from his world? Technically Creus was a mage and one thing that was never clear to him was whether or not he was the same as a normal human in his world. Was he just a human who could do magic or was he truly classified as something else? He had search for an answer to this from time to time but never found any answers.
"What do you mean by beast?" The mage asked carefully as Kuro clearly looked human to him. What could that entail and what was his worlds definition of beast? There where plenty of beasts  in the lore of the world the mage came from, most where inhuman monsters but a few where things like werewolves, shapeshifters and vampires. Did this mans world even have the same lore? "Do you mean like a werewolf or something?" Creus was genuinely curious though a bit worried about what this might mean. He didn't really like the though of having to work with someone who might loose control and attack him. He already had to figure out how to work with that golden dragon outside.

"Werewolf?" Kuro asked curiously, tilting his head slightly as he focused on Creus. The man had surprised him with his rather calm reaction. "I am not sure what that is but I can tell you I'm a dragon, well a kind of dragon though I am not like the golden one you are bound to" As he spoke Kuro seemed to relax a bit more, hand moving from his neck to clasp with the other in his lap. "I am from a long line of guardians, dragons tasked with protecting a city, town, or even village. We are born as dragons and can choose to live completely as such or take on a human form to better interact and understand those we protect."
Kuro could prove this quite quickly, but he doubted that his true form would manage to fit in this room, even if he curled up tightly.

"I understand if you think I'm crazy, but I assure you I'm not lying" he added, this time looking at the other man, the one who said he didn't have magic in his world, knowing that this would be the hardest for Zakhar to understand or believe. "I can't prove it right now, there is not enough space in here, but I also must admit I don't trust our 'hosts' to know. The way they treat us is only slightly better than our new companions, not to mention how that guard spoke of our guide. I don't particularly want these kinds of people finding out about what I am..." he trailed off, knowing that if the men had a problem, they could easily rat him out to their captors.

Listening to Creus, Zakhar was pleased to see he'd confused the wizard just as much as he'd been. It would be the small things that would keep him sane in the next couple of weeks, he knew. So Zakhar would take would he could. But the rest of Creus' words made sense, and he nodded slowly along. "Sounds like the Salem Witch Trials in my world. If you were even accused of being a witch, or magic user I guess, you were brutalized before being burned." For the first time Zakhar's voice somber, lacking any bite. "That's...cruel man." Shrugging, he could not stop his lips from lifting into the beginning of a smirk when Creus mentioned not being familiar with this worlds magic. "So your saying it's every man for themselves, eh? I'll remember that." Amusement colored his tone before Creus finished the rest of his words to him. "So basically we're screwed if we do screwed if we don't." Pausing, he plucked his bag off the bed and sat it underneath to get it out of the way.
Of course before he could settle again Kuro gave them a bit if insight on himself. Suddenly the tattooed man went from possibly useful on the journey to likely a greater asset then the mage. Not only was he familiar with magic, but it was common among his 'people'. Whatever they were. Kuro's unease made Zakhar twitchy as well, like knowing bad news was coming and he was trying to anticipating it. Then he dropped the bomb of him being much like their beasts outside. Something other. Leaning closer to get a better look at the blue and red scales adorning his shoulders and neck, Zakhar whistled softly. So he was a dragon, though unlike Creus' massive monster. Luckily he didn't seem as hostile as those outside - rather he appeared worried about their reaction. It was a reasonable worry, though.
"Crazy is being transported to a new world, bound to giant monsters, and forced into fighting an unknown enemy whose killed everything else they've thrown at it. Frankly, you being a dragon ain't the weirdest thing I've had to put up with today." He assured Kuro, noticing he seemed the think Zakhar would have the harder time believing. "And stop looking like someone kicked your puppy, I'm not planning on telling anyone whose not in this room. You're going to be a whole lot more useful then an average human on this mission and I'm not jeopardizing that advantage." Heaving a sigh, Zakhar flopped down onto his bed and shuffled underneath the light blanket. Of course the moth-eaten fabric wasn't much agasint the draft of the castle and the mattress seemed to be filled with rocks. Grumbling, he attempted to get comfortable anyway. "Likely the guards will come get us early, so sleep might be a good idea at this point. We can gossip more in the morning."

Of course morning was announced by the rooms door being flung open, the handle cracking agasint the wall behind it and creating a loud racket. "Time to get up!" The large guard boomed, voice amplified by the fact the man was well over six feet and the width of the door frame. "You're too meet your guide at the gates of the castle, after which you will all be lead into the city to get what else you will need to begin your journey." The massive man grumbled and turned to put hid back to the door, arms crossed over his barrel chest as he waited for them to be ready to leave.
Zakhar jerked upright with a small grunt of surprise, pulled out of a disorganized dream by the door cracking against the wall. Instinctively his arms flew up to cover his face from a imaginary blow while the other dived under his pillow for a gun that wasn't there. Befuddled by the sudden events, he could only bl
ink owlishly at the guard before all but falling back into the bed. "Dick." He hissed softly, rubbing at his face. Rolling to his feet, he stumbled to the end of his bed and attempted to work the creaks from his spine and neck. "Are you at least going to feed us first?" He snarked. His question was only answered by a grunt. "I hate all of you."

A dragon? Well that was not quite what the mage expected to hear. Honestly he wasn't sure what to think about that, having a supposed dragon in the room wasn't exactly a restful thought however this person didn't seem that dangerous. Ofcourse he knew well not to judge a book by  its cover, appearances where not everything. What he saw before him was a human, was he just some madman with a dragon tattoo whom believed he was a dragon? Possibly. Was he telling the truth? That was also a distinct possibility as well, it was impossible to tell in this situation. After al the guy was from another world, anything could be true at the moment. If he was speaking the truth though, what exactly did that entail? Was he a dragon trapped in a humans body? A dragon who an transform into a human or vice versa? That or did he turn into some reptilian man thing? For now the mage supposed the truth would eventually be revealed one way or another if they really did end up having to work together. At least he didn't seem like those beasts in the courtyard though perhaps it was just the human form that made things a bit easier to accept?
As for what the other guy said, the mage did have to agree, this was not the craziest thing that happened today and they probably should try to get some rest. The issue for him however was that he wasn't sure how he could possibly rest easy given the situation they where in. Firstly he still wasn't sure if he could trust this guys whom where practically sleeping right next to him. Though he couldn't think of any reason why they might cause trouble he had learned the hard way never to let his guard down. Who knew what these people where actually capable of? Secondly it just seemed very awkward sleeping in such close company with these strangers. He had petty much been isolated from others since he was a young child, this was a big change but there wasn't anything he could do about it aside from try to leave and who knew what the consequences of that would be. Thirdly, his very thoughts where probably being monitored by that dragon which was also pretty unsettling.
With all this, he was very tempted to cast some sort of protective spell around himself however it would also slowly drain his magic reserves throughout the night. If things when bad he might need all the power he could muster to protect himself. Instead he chose to rely on Blitz, the one and only thing that gave him a bit of relief as the wolf would pick up on things happening before he ever would. So packing is bag underneath his bed he also lay down trying to squeeze in between the wolf and the edge of the bed and wincing slightly as one of the items within his coats pockets dug into his side. Normally he would have already removed the items and stored them away but he didn't exactly have a place to do that hear and he was reluctant to just remove the coat in case one of his new companions got curious during the night. The last thing he wanted was for anyone to find so many riches hidden in his pockets though honestly who knew if these people would even know there worth? Was there precious metals and gems in their world and where they even the same as the ones in his?
Eventually he managed to drift off into sleep but he woke repeatedly throughout the night. By the time the guard threw the door open in the morning he was exhausted. It felt like he had only just drifted back off to sleep when he was jolted awake and Blitz was leaping up besides him with a fierce snarl. Unfortunately on the small mattress the wolf didn't have much area to place his paws. There nothing quite like having a hundred pound animals weight land on his stomach. The mage grunted and hurriedly shoved the animal off while muttering a curse under his breath as he sat up, rubbing the afflicted area. Blitz stood on the floor where he landed, wedged between two beds while staring down the guard and growling softly. He didn't really have much to say as the guard practically rushed them all out the door and down the hall. Zakhar had already asked the one question he would have. Instead he attempted to settle Blitz down with a quick pat and grabbed the bag that contained the coins given to them. Then after a brief paused he grabbed the satchel, dumped out its practically useless contents and slung it empty over his shoulder. At least he would have something in which he could carry stuff should he choose to buy anything. "Will this guide of ours be able to educate us on this worlds monetary value? I would think you people at least would not want us unnecessarily wasting what little coin you gave us." He asked as he stepped out of the room glancing briefly at the other guards whom waited outside to escort them. Why did this make him feel like a criminal?
"You are one."
That voice suddenly appearing in his head made him flinch. They don't know that! He found himself arguing back though to this the beast did not respond. What would they all do if they found out he was a thief? He wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer to that.
