Surprisingly enough the two seemed to take this news very well, even if they did seem a bit confused about it, especially the mage. Letting out a heavy sigh Kuro nodded and gave the gruffer man, Zakhar, a small smile.
“Thank you,” he told him earnestly as the man assured him he wouldn’t tell their ‘hosts’ about this. Kuro doubted he’d be taken off of this odd mismatched team they had going, but he doubted that his place among them would be the same if the people responsible for all this learned he was more than just a simple human they’d summoned. “I have to admit you both are taking this very well. When we tell most foreigners back home, there’s usually a few moments of panic before they settle down and listen fully”

As he spoke the dragon carefully lifted up his bag, leaning over to slide it under the bed before he tugged off his shoes, noting how Zakhar was already settling down under his bed’s blanket. Creus had been awfully quiet this whole time but at least that meant he was at least kind of okay with Kuro’s news. Glancing at the man for a moment Kuro noted how he struggled to lay down next to his wolf, still wearing that long heavy looking coat. In fact, both men had simply laid down, not bothering to get comfortable, but Kuro knew that he probably had a terrible chance of sleeping tonight so he might as well make it comfortable for himself.

He pushed back the blanket and slipped under it, reaching up to his long braid and fixing it as best he could before he elbowed the lumpy pillow to kind of fluff it up, laying down and tugging the thin blanket over himself with a sigh. As predicted Kuro lay awake for most of the night, listening to his companions. Zakhar was almost instantly out, seemingly not to care about sleeping in these conditions, the wolf was about the same, but Creus was fidgety, shifting and waking up multiple times before Kuro himself finally drifted off.
-------------

The morning came too soon, a loud bang and an equally loud voice ringing through the silent room and starting the dragon awake. “Mpffm?” he murmured, golden-blue eyes slowly opening as he rolled over, listening to someone shout about getting up and a guide. Grumbling Kuro rolled over, an arm flopping over the side of his bed to thump against something warm and fluffy. “Mm?” peering over the side of the bed he saw the wolf standing there, alert and on edge, but unlike a sane person who might pull away Kuro instead smiled and patted the animal on the side before slowly sitting up, messy locks of black hair tumbling down over his shoulders, his hair tie for his braid having come undone at some point during the night.

Unlike Creus who was pretty quick to get to his feet and ready Kuro was… well, he was slower by a lot, just managing to swing his legs over the bed and fish around for his shoes by time Crues was up on his feet. With a yawn the dragon pulled on his boots before reaching into his bag, pulling out the smaller one containing the coins but leaving everything else as he got to his feet, blinking owlishly around, clearly not fully awake.
“Aw,” he said softly, finally realizing Zakhar’s question. “No breakfast?”

Zakhar ::
Being from a world where wolves were not pets, Blitz's snarl triggered the human prey instinct and he froze, hair on the back of his neck standing on end. He was, for the first time, glad he didn't have his gun because he might've shot the wolf simply on instinct rather than logic. Being brought up to be a 'shoot first and ask questions later' type of person didn't help. "Christ, must you do that?" He complained to the wolf, though whether it actually understood him or not was up int eh air. It did make Zakhar feel better, though. Keeping a weary eye on the predator, he reached for his bag and took out some of the random items he didn't feel like he'd need. The small leather pouch that jingled caught his attention and he peered inside t what looked to be an assortment of coins. Some gold, silver, and other colors. As if on cue Creus asked about the coins as well, which the guard simply grunted an affirmative. "Hopefully that guide of ours is a tad more forthcoming." He mumbled to himself, stuffing the pouch deep into a pocket of his jacket.

The burly guard took one last look into the room and motioned for them to follow him. "Your guide will meet you at the castles front gates. It will lead you to the town and tell you what you need to know." Without waiting to see if they were following, the big man began walking off down the corridor, all but shoving people out of the way of they were to slow or got in his path. "Cheery fellow." Zakhar snarked, put slung his bag over his shoulder and began following. "Rough night?" He asked his two companions, noting their haggard appearances before he exited the room fully. Luckily for him, he'd always been able to fall asleep without much prompting, no matter where he was. The journey back out of the castle took as long as going in, and already he was tired of the crumbling facade and medieval atmosphere.

The sun was irritatingly bright as he stepped outside, which he'd later blame as being the reason he didn't notice the serpent until it hissed at him, massive fangs glistening. Jerking wearily, he made a longer trip to the gate then was needed to stay as far away as possible. How was he supposed to get along with that...that thing? Fighting back the urge to sneer back at the serpent, he instead was about to ask the guard where this guide was. Instead he paused and blinked in surprised at the man-thing? in front of him. At leas the thought it was a man, mostly. Looked like one, except for the flat-ish nose, large golden eyes, and tufted ears. As he eyed him closer, he noticed the tail and feet, or were they paws? Creus' question about werewolves suddenly popped into his mind, and he bit back a hysterical laugh. Because this looked more like a werewolf, or was it werecat since he seemed feline-ish, the Kuro did. As if feeling Zakhar's inquisitiveness, the man seemed to shrink in on himself underneath a heavy, leather jacket. Zakhar was getting warm just looking at it and it wasn't that hot this early.

Feeling a bit like an ass at the guides obvious unease, Zakhar offered him a small grin and held out his hand. "I'm new to this whole magic thing, so sorry about my staring. I'm Zakhar." The guide eyed his hand for a moment and reached out to shake it. Zakhar noticed he also had some wicked sharp claws, which he was clearly trying not to stab Zakhar with. There were also an assortment of bruises and cuts along the creatures wrists and face, as if he'd been shackled and definitely not treated kindly. "Er, I'll let these guys introduce themselves." Motioning to the other two, Zakhar quickly stepped back.

Thiago ::
Two guards had drug Thiago from his bed early and sent him to a last minute meeting with the King and some advisors. He'd been instructed, not for the first time, on his role in the entire plot. He was to explain what he knew about the Storm, answer any questions the beast tamers had, and lead them into the heart of it. And if it came down to it, he'd die for them with no questions asked. Throughout the speech, Thiago had keep his head down and hands carefully folded in front of him. He needed when appropriate, but otherwise chose not to speak .He knew all of this already and was okay with his fate. Being reminded was redundant and a little cruel. But then again, so was everything that had to do with Thiago's life any longer. Caring any long was just tiresome. Sighing softly, he followed the guards back out of the large room, only stopping with a bitten back yowl as one of the advisors, a pig-faced man, stepped purposefully on his tail to stop him. Blinking back pained tears, he grimaced and turned to face man. "If you were smart, you'd make sure you don't come back." Only able to nod, the advisor let up on his tail and Thiago swiftly curled it up so he could loop it over his arm.

Ducking his shoulders, Thiago followed his escort to the gates of the castle, ignoring the summoned beasts who seemed just as interested in ignoring him. The sun, though not fully risen, was already hot and Thiago shifted uncomfortably underneath it. The jacket was necessary, he kept telling himself, for not coming off more of a freak then he already was. He needed to get along with these people, so that they could hopefully avenge his family. The hissing of the giant serpent, Kukulkan if he remembered correctly, let Thiago know his new charges had arrived. The first to greet him smelled and acted just as any normal human, and was obviously startled by his apperance, though not cruel a out it neither. Seeing as this was all new the the man, who smelled of metal with a hint a blood, Thiago could forgive him. After a brief handshake, Thiago turned to the other two men.

One who smelled sharply of cinnamon, a common scent for magic users, as well as something wild (the wolf, Thiago's mind supplied). The other was pure in scent, like the wind and nature, mixed with something icy. Thiago wasn't sure what that meant as it was not something he'd ever come across before. He'd learned quickly that scent was a powerful indicator of a person and his sense of smell had greatly increased since his 'transformation'. Blinking his golden eyes at the other two, he nodded in greeting, shifting uneasily beneath the jacket again. "I supposed they told you already I am your guide, Thiago. I'm am at your disposal." He bowed deeply, tail flicking back and forth subconsciously.  "I will answer any question you ask, and of course do as you command."

The whole getting woken up early thing was rather unpleasant after his rough night of sleep however the mage supposed it wasn't the worst it could have been as he glanced at the other two. At least he hadn't been attacked at night or now for that matter, he'd had much worse awakenings than this. He was a bit surprised by Zakhars comment, how could one possibly sleep well given these conditions? "I see you slept rather well." The mage muttered a bit irritably as he followed the guards through the castle trying his best to memorize the route, though the layout and sheer size of the place made it all but impossible. There was also obviously more than one route as well since he did take note of a few decorations that he hadn't noticed before. Then again perhaps they just missed them or was it that these people purposely did not want them to lean their way around? Of course it could also be as simple as different people taking different routes.
Once they finally got to the courtyard the mage couldn't help but study the monsters wearily before casting a brief glance at Kuro. Was this man really a dragon too? If so he couldn't help but feel a slight twinge of guilt about seeing the dragon he was bound to as a monster but after yesterdays nerve wracking encounter with the beast it was hard to see it in another light. The thing had shattered his magic shield and practically flung him through the air with ease. He still remembered its large scales paws grabbing him and barely withheld a shudder. The dragon, aware of his thoughts lifted its head and fixated a steely glare upon him causing the mage to flinch away. It was certainly not helping the situation either, the dragon was probably just as unhappy about this as the rest of them. The thought made the mage pause for a moment and watch the creature from a safe distance or what he hoped to be a safe distance anyway. One thing was for sure, being afraid of it was not going to help him any in this situation. How was he to deal with it without getting killed though?
One of the guards urged him on after just a moment placing a rough hand on his shoulder, impatient to get a move on. For a moment, the Creus half expected the man to shove him like they might a prisoner but nothing happened beyond that and at the moment the mage was not willing to test what happened if he did comply. Instead he brushed the mans hand away and caught up with the rest as a curious thought entered his mind. While he still wasn't sure he believed it, that Kuro guy seemed more approachable than the golden dragon. If he was truly a dragon maybe he would have some idea that would help him with the golden creature who's glare felt as if it was piercing through his back? He supposed it might be worth giving a shot?
Feeling the creatures eyes on his back was very disconcerting as he followed the others  to the gates, so much so that he didn't immediately realize the creature standing before him wad just as unusual. Despite everything else it was kind of hard to not stare in shock for a moment, it looked quite a bit like the werewolves he had seen depicted in stories though it had more cat like features. Clearly this one wasn't howling at the moon or trying to savage anyone though. In fact it seemed to be in somewhat rough shape and it was clearly very uneasy with the situation.  He stood rigidly for a moment trying to decide how best to act while still struggling a bit to deal with this whole rather overwhelming situation he was in. Considering everything that was going on the other guy, Zahkar seemed to be handling this all quite well. Wasn't he the one who said he had no magic in his world? Yet, he was the first to greet this strange cat man. Perhaps he was still convinced this might be some sort of dream? That was something the mage still wondered about himself.
After Zahkars greeting the mage shoved away his fears and worries and approached to offer his hand as well, though the action itself was not something he was accustomed to. He was beat to the punch by Blitz though, until now the wolf had followed quietly at his side but the animal seemed rather curious as he shoved his way between his person and this strange creature snuffling and sniffing hard. "Ah, this is Blitz, don't worry about him. He won't cause you any trouble. I'm Creus..." The mage stated as he patted the wolf and held his hand out to the creature, trying not to worry to much about its claws.

"Oi, hurry it up. I don't get paid enough for this." One of the guards standing by the now opened gate muttered as the others started to approach them impatiently, clearly eager to send them on their way. The mage held his ground just for a brief moment turning to face the guards as Blitz growled softly at his side, giving the last member of their group a chance to greet their guide if he chose. His action cause quite a few of the guards to stiffen, some hesitantly resting their hands on their weapon though none drew them. It was clear they did not like it when someone acted in defiance even if it was only in the slightest, that or perhaps they where just all nervous? Blitz growl was drowned out by a much deeper one from behind the guards, one that came straight from the golden dragon. That sound really put them all on edge but the mage just grinned, even if it unnerved him greatly as well. "Do you mind giving us a bit of time, gentlemen? As I recall, we have three days before we are set to leave right? Considering we are supposed to save your country, the least you can do is offer us and our guide some respect? After all, we are the ones who are too control those creature you summoned. " The mage added his gaze sliding purposely past the guards to the growling dragon. It was clear that at the very least the dragon wanted him alive, perhaps that was something he could make use of? At least if it cooperated anyway, the mage wanted to make it clear that they where not so easy to push around. After a moment he turned around and stepped through the gate trying not to tense up and flinch away as he walked past the guards.

Kuro followed the other two out of the room, yawning and stretching as he went, having given up on memorizing the path after yesterday’s trip up to their room. This place was a maze, the fastest way out would be through a window so he wasn’t too worried about it, plus as it sounded these people needed them, the likely hood of their summoners attacking them unprovoked was very, very slim. While he might not have been paying attention to the path Kuro was still paying attention to their surroundings, seeing if there was anything he could learn from the decor and building styles they passed, but ultimately all that did was solidify the sense of not belonging, nothing was like his home, it was unnerving.

Eventually, they made it down to the courtyard again where their companions were and Kuro smiled as he saw the large fluffy creature from the day before lift her head to look at him, tail thumping the ground and ears perking up, though she didn’t move. Next, there was a nasty hiss and the dragon’s mismatched gaze snapped over to the snake-like creature. That one was aggressive and it was clear it was far from happy and willing about all of this, they’d have to keep an eye on him… then there was the golden dragon. Kuro slowed down slightly, watching the dragon carefully. It was very different from him, it’s cent was even different, but there were enough similarities between Kuro’s true form and this being, plus it looked just like the drawings of western dragons he’d seen.

Too distracted by the dragon Kuro was the last to notice the presence of their new guide, only realizing the others were talking to someone knew when he heard an unfamiliar voice ring out.

The figure he turned to see was not something he’d been expecting. The man’s face looked pretty normal but for more feline like features, but Kuro himself had features hinting at his own non-human nature, his long nose, much like this man’s flatter one, being the most prominent… but, of course, what really stood out was the man’s slightly pointed ears with tufts of fur and his very animal-like legs. It was clear the man was hiding under heavy layered clothing and Kuro’s brows furrowed, a hand going up to rub at the scaled markings on his neck again, conveniently but unintentionally hidden under his own clothing. This was the ‘monster’ that idiot of a guard talked about? These people were really starting to tick him off. If a beastman... Or something close to a beastman had them disgusted then they would hate his world.

The dragon hung back, watching their guide curiously and catching that his name was Thi..Thiago? Another odd name. Kuro was starting to see that this was going to a whole long line of oddities. Once his two other companions were done greeting their guide, Kuro stepped forward, giving the man a genuinely warm smile before he reached out to take the man’s hand, bowing slightly to him, a much more formal greeting than he’d given Crues or Zakhar. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Thi-ago,” Kuro said, struggling a bit with the name, his own slight accent getting in the way. “Thank you for being our guide through all this madness”

It seemed Crues and his dragon had a good sense of timing as Kuro heard the sound of an argument behind him, the mage and the golden one telling off a guard who tried to rush them all. “Idiots” the dragon muttered, slanted eyes narrowing at the troublesome guard in question before looking back to their guide, giving him another smile, though this one smaller and less enthusiastic. “My name is Kuro… I guess we have made the humans twitchy” he said lightly, stepping back to give the man some space before gesturing for him to go ahead, Creus already stalking off ahead of them.

This was going to be one heck of a journey.

Thiago ::
As he turned towards the magic user who approached next, Thiago was startled to see the large, white wolf beat its owner to him. It sniffed at him, clearly as curious about him as he was it. He'd seen wolves before, wild ones at least, and more then once had had to trap and kill the more vicious ones that had attacked his families livestock. To be face to face with a tame one was intriguing. At least until it started howling, then Thiago feared he'd get flashbacks to the beasts who'd turned him and slaughtered his family. Looking away to hide his suddenly downtrodden gaze, Thiago gently stroked the fur atop the wolf's head. "Hello Blitz." He murmured before giving its owner a weary look, but shook his hand as well. Creus appeared a bit more stoic than Zakhar, but friendly enough. And if Thiago's senses were accurate, than his magic would be useful on the upcoming journey.

Watching as the mage confronted the guards, Thiago wanted to warn him that the palace guards could be vindictive and cruel if pushed. Instead, the golden dragon warned them away with a low snarl. The sound all but vibrated the ground and sent the fur along Thiago's tail straight up. The fur along his spine attempted to follow, but was restricted by the jacket. Blinking large, golden eyes at Creus, he gulped audibly and shuffled a foot away with his tail between his legs. Don't p*ss off the mage or he might make the dragon eat you. Which he supposed, could also go for the other two; though the fluffy beast didn't seem that harmless, at least not yet. Flicking his gaze from the mage to the giant lizards, Thiago squeaked a bit as the last man approached without his noticing.

Though the other two were friendly enough, if not obviously vexed by him, the last man seemed genuinely affable. He was the first person since that fateful night who was. Thiago was startled enough to give him a small, tired smile of his own; which was quickly lost as he remembered his fangs. After listening to the man, Kuro, finish talking, Thiago flicked his tail and attempted another strained smile, this time making sure it was close-lipped. "The pleasure is all mine. Though do not thank me, as I will do whatever it takes to aid you all in your journey to defeat the storm for personal reasons. I am not selfless for doing it." At Kuro's observation about making the humans twitchy, Thiago hummed in agreement. "Yes, I suppose we have. It would be best for us to head into the city now, before we anger them further. They...are not kind to those who've irked them." He added, stepping through the gate and being sure to keep a respectful distance from the guards. "Do you have any idea of what supplies you will require? The city is fairly large and should have most of what you're wanting." Starting down the dusty path, he paused to wait for the others.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

Zakhar ::
As Blitz all but bounded up to Thiago, Zakhar raised an eyebrow at the man's lack of reaction. Either he really didn't care of the wolf tore his throat out, or this world had tame wolves. Which, Zakhar was still trying to wrap his head completely around. It had been to long for this too have been an drug induced hallucination; though it could also be a vivid dream while he was in a coma. Somehow, though, Zakhar doubted it. It was all too real. So, it left freakin' magic as the answer. Which was worse. Having been brought up in a family who prided themselves on logic and utilizing it to stay one step ahead Zakhar was out of his element. It was leaving him twitchy and vulnerable - which where he came from meant death. His family had enemies in high places with deep pockets, so staying one step ahead was what kept them alive and in business. Here, in this world where he knew nothing, it was terrifying. But showing that he was vulnerable, that without his gun and knowledge he was not at his best, was not an option. Zakhar needed them to think he was fine, that he was not as shaken as he was. Weakness would not be tolerated, and he could almost see his father furious look at knowing on of his sons was being a weak link.

No, he needed to figure out where he strengths lay in this world. He had no magic, so he'd need to rely on his other skills to be able to keep up with a wizard and a dragon. He was a good spy and was quick to assess people and their motives, which would come in handy when learning about this world and their mission. Hand-to-hand and knife fight was also in his range of skills, though he'd always preferred a gun. And he did have the serpent, which if it wanted him to complete the mission like Creus' golden dragon seemed to want to do he had that advantage of utilizing it. Lips pursing, he noted that Thiago and Creus had already left through the gate while he was lost in thought. Shooting the guard a vicious grin, he slunk over to stand behind Creus and peered down the path they were to follow. "Food, medical, and better weapons for me. Also," pulling out the small leather pouch with the coins, he pulled one out to show their guide. "can you explain the monetary value of these." He flinched as claws came close to his skin as Thiago took the coin carefully.

"These are the common currency of this country, called Sol. I'm assuming you each got some?" Without waiting for the others to answer, Thiago held the coin out for Zakhar to take back. After making sure the leather pouch was once more secured, and hidden from plain sight, Zakhar refocused on Thiago's raspy voice. "The iron ones are the least, worth 1 sole. The copper sole is worth 100 iron, the silver 1,000 iron soles, the gold 10,000 soles." Thiago paused, looking between them with his sad gaze. Zakhar couldn't help but wonder what had happened to make the beast-man so melancholy. Nothing good, that was for sure. "So if something is worth 5,000 soles, then giving them 5 iron pieces will work fine. There are also those who will exchange pieces for others if you need them." Having traveled around a lot for his family, Zakhar was familiar with currency exchange as well as converting money so once Thiago had finished talking he simply nodded to let him know he understood.

Once they where on the move and leaving that rather dreadful castle behind Creus felt some of the tension that had built up in his body ease though it did not entirely dissipate as he listened to the werecat go over this countries monetary system. It was a bit of a relief to hear that they used coins similar to what he was used to though the value was different, he would have to make sure to remember that. Furthermore he still had those stolen items hidden within his coat, he had placed them carefully so it was well balance however it would get heavy to carry them around for an entire journey. Perhaps at some point he could sneak away and try to pawn them off? Did they have places like that in this country? He supposed he would have to wait and see, the sooner he got rid of the items the better but he didn't want to do something foolish either.
The walk to town was a long one but relatively pleasant, the castle was located miles from town and in between that was a large stretch of farmland located up gentle rolling hills. Well beyond the farmland he could see the outline of mountains. The place seemed beautiful and serene, it hardly seemed like a country that was in danger. The mage knew well that looks could be deceiving.
"Can you tell anything else about this country? After all we are knew and know absolutely nothing besides what little we have witnessed so far. Even the smallest bit of information might prove to be useful."
The mage asked watching Thiago carefully, though he had never seen a creature like him before it already seemed like this guy was far more reliable than anything he had encountered so far. "Are there any others like you? Are beastmen common in this world? And...if they are common are they all treated well?" He asked glancing briefly down at his wrist. Perhaps it was common practice to enslave such people or something? Though he supposed it probably wouldn't matter much in the long run, not unless they could make use of such people on their journey anyway. That was all that truly mattered, finding ways to get home using just about whatever means necessary.  He was a thief, not a hero after all.
As they got closer to town, or what the mage presumed to be closer anyway the activity on the path they where on picked up. It had since widened into a road and carts and people road past them in either direction, many seemed curious or wary while others didn't seem to notice at all. No one acknowledge them until they came within sight of a large, busy town.Buildings of all shape, sizes and makes where merged together by a chaotic cobweb of streets. The towns layout and build seemed just as baffling as the castles some places looked old and warn and others new and clean. Unlike the farmland however the air seemed a bit polluted with smoke, cooking fires and other types of fires seemed prevalent however it was hard to pinpoint what was what as to his very normal human nose most of the scents where muddled together. Occasionally he caught a whiff of food or a metallic smell in the air, the ladder scent reminded him a bit of the black smiths he had back at home.
"We should probably focus on survival tools and supplies, do you perhaps know of a place where we can pick up dried foods for the journey?  Also perhaps hunting supplies?" The mage added, glancing at the other two. "Do either of you have any survival skills? Considering they are sending us off to a condemned place I doubt there is going to be a lot of places we rest and eat. Blitz is good at tracking and hunting things and we usually can get by but things are probably different here. "

It was a relief to leave the castle behind finally. Those dark looming walls had made everything feel so grim and dull, but out here in the sun you could hear the birds singing and a gentle breeze rustling the grass as it swirled around them. Letting out a sigh Kuro slowed his steps a bit, falling behind the others as he focused on their new surroundings, taking in the fact that unlike his home where the most essential structure like a castle or manor, would be right near a town, easy access to supplies and a better position to protect the people.. But here the castle was placed out in farmland and hills. This distance gave the dragon plenty of time to get used to their surroundings and to observe his companions subtly.

The two humans still seemed tense and moody, the mage seeming a bit on edge since they’d left, but at least he was reacting, the other one was more worrying.

“Zakhar” Kuro suddenly said, keeping his voice soft and gentle as he hurried to catch up with the man, long legs easily covering the distance and falling into step. He tilted his head a bit, looking at the man’s face as they walked before turning his attention to the path before them, content to walk for the moment, though it was clear he was dying to talk.

Finally, he broke and turned his head to look at the man again. “You are surprisingly calm about all of this” he commented, golden-blue eyes scanning the human’s face. Things had been so hectic he hadn’t allowed himself to think about his companions as anything more than just other ‘prisoners,’ but out here in the sun and nature he couldn’t help but relax and actually look at the man next to him… and realize that he was handsome as all heck. With this realization, he glanced over to the other two. The best man was cute, in his own way, plus he seemed sweet, but these two humans were dangerously close to even giving a Fae some run for his money.

With this realization came a moment of panic, one because Kuro was a hopeless flirt at the best of times, and two, because he knew to flirt in this situation, was probably not the best idea.

“Ahem,” he cleared his throat and focused back on Zakhar, smirking charmingly at him. “You didn’t even seem surprised to find that one of your companions isn’t human. That takes a lot of willpower and bravery, not that I’m surprised you’d be like that”
And there he went, breaking his own common sense. He’d be the first to admit he was a flirt, but he'd never say anything about being a good flirt.

Luckily at this point Creus’s question pulled him out of this own little pickle he’d made for himself and the dragon quickly turned his head to look at the mage. “I can hunt and do some tracking myself, and I know how to survive against wild animals... But other than that and minimal cooking skills I’m afraid I’m not very good at survival skills” not to mention he was terrible with money, having always been provided with what was needed because he was a guardian, but he wasn’t going to say that to these two men. They both looked like warriors and survivors, that and their guide appeared to be a beastman who, as a people, are notorious in his world to be amazing scouts and hagglers... He was way out of his league here.

Zakhar ::
The trip to the town was, surprisingly, peaceful. Having grown up in a large city where people constantly bumped elbows with others, the relative quiet of nature was a pleasant change. Plus, the greenery and bird songs was soothing in a way after so many years of smog, grey steel buildings, and car horns. Zakhar could, in a way, understand how some people could get themselves lost in what little wilderness his world had left. But he was a social creature raised in a large, chaotic family, so the solitude would wear on him quickly. And having one of his brothers accompany him would inevitably lead to them trying to kill one another.

Lips twitching at the thought of trying to drown Kazimir in a mountain stream, Zakhar quickly sobered at the sudden realization that, outside of his brothers he really didn't have anyone else he'd actually be happy to spend time alone with. Friends were dangerous to have in his line of work, and most people he actually grew to be friendly with tended to be marks he'd end up having to grift. Lovers were not possible. There was only so much lying and traveling someone could take from him; plus he knew he wasn't worth that constant headache.

Huffing a tired laugh at the direction his thoughts decided to take, Zakhar pushed them aside and peered up at the bright sky in vague awe. Without the pollution of the machines his world had the sky was blue, clearer and more luminous then he'd ever seen it. Perhaps it was a stupid observation to most, but after a life of haze and grey it was truly remarkable. "Fool." He mused to himself, shaking his head with a grin anyhow. Without looking away from the sky, Zakhar trusted his peripherals enough not to run into anything and answered Creus. "I know the basics. Enough to survive, but not thrive. Cities are more my thing. I can make a fire, set up a tent, do some really basic tracking, and skin and cook an animal." He paused to think back to some of the skills he'd been taught when he was younger. "Hope one of you knows how to navigate, though."

Finally looking back down, he narrowly kept himself from jumping when he noticed Kuro had approached him from behind. "You need a bell." He told the dragon with a hint of amused sarcasm. "Christ." He added to himself, glancing over his shoulder wearily to make sure no one else was there. He'd blame the fact he was still discombobulated from the whole 'New World' thing as to why he wasn't paying better attention. Dumba*s. He mentally growled in a voice that sounded suspiciously like Andon.

Side-eying Kuro as they walked in silence for a moment, Zakhar took the opportunity to actually pay attention to his new companion other than a cursory glance to make sure he wasn't a threat. The first thing he noticed was that the guy was tall, at least two inches more than Zakhar's not unsubstantial 6'2''. I'm doomed to always be surrounded by freakin' giants. He inwardly mused. At least four of his brothers were taller then him, with Kuro being closest to Kazimir in height. Of course Kuro's height wasn't the most unusual, though the easiest to note, but rather his eyes. Now that he was actually looking, even the shape of them gave away the fact that he wasn't normal. They were serpentine almost, turned up at the outer corner like a predator. The color was almost interchangeable it seemed, sometimes gold while other blue. The otherness of it all made Zakhar's metaphorical hackles raise; though so far Kuro seemed the least hostile of them all and flirty?

Taken aback, Zakhar blinked and laughed in surprise. "Lets just say I might look calm, but I'm definitely not." Noticing the charming smirk Kuro sent his way, Zakhar chuckled again and shook his head in disbelief. Unable to help himself though, Zakhar slowly let his gaze rove over the dragon before shrugging with a wicked twinkle in his dark eyes. "Surprised you're not human? Yeah, I am. However, dragon or not you're a lot better looking than the other dragons I've seen so I'm not paying much attention to that fact." Which was very true. Having never been one to discriminate between women or men, Zakhar's lovers were an eclectic bunch. And Kuro was easy on the eyes, and easy to get along with as well which always helped. And while Creus was not bad looking either, Zakhar had a feeling he would be a lot harder too actually get close to. Having someone on the journey to trade simple flirtations with and who could possibly even come to be a friend made the entire thing a little easier to bear.

Sounds were becoming louder and more and more people were beginning to appear as the path widened into an almost proper road. Some walked, some lead or rode horses, while others were atop wagons filled with various items. What was more worrying however was the looks people were giving them. Some appeared curious while others were openly hostile. "I get the feeling we're not exactly liked by everyone." The city was large as they came upon it, busy and a little more then a tangle of streets between buildings. The lack of steel and concrete was off putting, as was the smell and general lack of cleanliness. "We're either all going to catch a disease in this place, or get shanked in the back."

Following behind Thiago, who seemed to know where he was going, Zakhar kept one hand tight on his coins and the other hovering over the hilt of the knife he'd had on him when he'd been whisked to this world. Most of the locals got out of their way, but others hovered too close for comfort, some with faces scrunched in anger or disgust while others were bright hopeful. "What's going on?" He asked their guide, who appeared to be trying to disappear into thin air.

Thiago ::
Allowing for the others to either chatter among themselves or enjoy the peace of the countryside, Thiago simply kept his eyes about for danger and his mouth shut. He knew what was coming in the city and was mentally preparing himself for the madness. The quiet was broken by the mage, Creus, who began speaking to him. Turning his feline eyes on the mage, Thiago's tail twitched at some of the mage's questions and he could feel his tufted ears droop a bit. Quickly looking away to compose himself, Thiago rolled his aching shoulders and tried to think about how best to answer him. "I can tell you that we should not linger in the city," he murmured bluntly. "The king has spoken to his people to ease their fears, so they know about your existence. Guards also talk, so the knowledge that there are beasts among them has frightened some commoners. There is a chance some will try to harm you."

Again he paused, shifting uncomfortably underneath the heavy jacket as he contemplated how much to tell about the rest. Wiping sweat from his forehead, Thiago pushed his hair from his eyes in a jagged, flustered motion. "I will be honest with you. I am not from this country, but rather a neighboring one called Asi." Pausing, he gritted his teeth, feeling his fangs prick painfully at his gums but ignoring it. "Or, it was called Asi. I have not been in this country for very long, so unfortunately I am not equip with much knowledge about it. I am sorry."

The man who smelled of blood and metal suddenly laughed and Thiago jerked in surprise. Blinking wide eyes over his shoulder, he was surprised to see Zakhar and Kuro getting along. Which was good, he supposed. It would make things easier if they trusted one another. Thiago still wanted to know what exactly Kuro was, but knew better than to ask. Turning back to Creus, Thiago wondered if the mage would have rather joined the others easy conversation rather then hear him talk about such depressing things. Yet something in Creus' questions still stung a bit so he decided to go ahead and answer. "Beastman? Is that what they call me?" Huffing a bitter laugh, Thiago looked down at his hands, flexing his fingers so his claws shined in the sunlight. "Apt deion, I suppose. But no, there are no others like me. I am alone in my disfiguration." He didn't volunteer an answer on how he was treated because Creus didn't need to know their guide, who was supposed to lead them and teach them about this world, was thought so little of by the king and his people.

As they approached the city, Thiago slowed slightly so that he was partially behind Creus. The looks people threw them were mixed, but he knew enough about this country's people to know that even the smallest thing would incite them into a violent frenzy. "Come, we will find the blacksmith first and get you some proper weapons." Slinking through the streets, he kept looking back to make sure nothing was happening to his charges. Hisses and curses followed them, some louder than others as the city woke to the realization that there were outsiders in their midst. "We should hurry." He bit out, sighing in relief as the strong stench of the blacksmith's workshop grew almost to much for his sensitive nose. "He does good work, so you should talk to him about what it is you're looking for."

After the relatively peaceful walk to town, the towns peoples reactions left Creus feeling weary and on edge. He was used to being ignored, a shadow walking on the edges of society that few noticed at least until he wanted to e noticed anyway. Everyone and awhile he had made a play at being a traveling noble in order to get some useful information about possible targets however even then it wasn't quite on this scale. Usually he would find some fancy local bar or club where wealthy people hung out, having practically an entire town paying attention to him and his companions was quite off putting.

Up until he had allowed Blitz to explore their new environment some and while the wolf hadn't gone too far he now called the animal to his side. The last thing he wanted was for some local to attack the wolf and from what their guide said, they should be careful. From the moment they stepped into town, he had a very strong desire to leave. For a man who spent his life in hiding, avoiding being discovered in fear of getting killed this was a lot to take in.

Thankfully his new found companions provided at least a bit of distraction from his worries as he cast a subtle glance back, watching them talk. Surprisingly they seemed to get along fairly well, which he supposed was a good thing. After all it would be hard to travel if all three of them acted like enemies, which meant he was also going to have to put some effort into trying to get along.  He could certainly act and play nice for awhile, he had done it plenty of times to get things he wanted in the past but if this was long term he would have to work past his usual comfort level. For that reason he hoped this whole thing wouldn't take that long, though he could guess that would probably not be the case.

"What about you, Thiago? You will be traveling with us as well right? Do you have any skills involving survival?" The mage asked, if they could all look after themselves then that would at least be one less thing to worry about. The mage ignored the fact that the beastman did not answer his question involving the way he was treated. Everything Creus had seen up until now and the mans verbal response to his questions regarding him was telling enough so he didn't press any further on that topic. He could tell their guide was quite uncomfortable though he couldn't help but wonder why the king wouldn't send someone to travel with them that was more familiar with this country.  "Asi, is that the aforementioned country? The one with the dark storm?" What other reason would they send Thiago with them if he wasn't familiar with the country they where supposed to go to?  It would seem entirely pointless to send a guide who was neither familiar with the country they where in or the one they where supposed to go to otherwise.

"Look, its our saviors!" A young child shouted from somewhere in the streets, startling the mage out of his current train of thoughts. He looked around for a moment until he spotted a young boy being hushed and hustled away by his mother. "Shh, they might here you!" she hissed, scolding her son. "We don't know who they are, they are strangers who where given powerful monsters they could kill us all!" The latter part was partially directed at them as the women glanced over in their direction.  "No, they are hero's  who else do we have to rely on? They will save our country lady. Don't treat them that way!" Someone else shouted through the crowd quickly sparking an argument as several others shouted back, within minutes punches where being thrown and the mage ducked into the blacksmith shop as guards rushed out to break up the fight. He didn't miss the accusatory glances the guards threw them as if they where somehow responsible for all this angst among the townspeople. During just their brief trip through the town the divide their presence was creating among the townspeople was quite obvious and worrisome. Even the shopkeepers acted strangely, some tried to flag them down almost in a desperate fashion while others took one look at them and quickly began packing away their wares.

This was defiantly an uncomfortable place to be and heading inside the blacksmith shop was a bit of a relief though he was met with a wide array of weapons and other metalwork. The shopkeeper inside eyed them for a moment but seemed to bolster a relatively neutral attitude to their presence as he welcomed him to the shop. The man was tall, broad shouldered and quite muscular, he had a few burn scars on his hands and arms and a large, jagged scar across his bearded face.  He was on the older side and appeared to have possibly been a soldier or some other warrior at one point whom retired to open a blacksmith shop, though this was just conjecture on the mages part based on the mans appearance and stance. "Your the kings latest victims aye? Hope you lot are tough, my weapons are the best there is in town, perhaps the entire country so take your pick. I will be glad to answer any questions you lot have. I'll give y'all a discount provided that if you survive you will make it known where your weapons originated from."

The blacksmiths hearty chuckle didn't take away from the significance of his words. The mage knew there had been others who had not come back from this quest, the king had said so himself but for others to see them as victims was rather unsettling. He couldn't quite bring himself to respond to that as he walked to a table containing knives and picked one up to examine it. He could see mottling within the knife created by repeated folds of metal giving it a somewhat wavy appearance. He was no expert but he knew metal forged in such a fashion was well known both for being incredibly sturdy and it ability to maintain its sharp edge. At least that was how it worked in his world anyway.

The warn wooden shelving the held the weapons where covered in knife marks, likely by customers testing the sharpness of the metal. The shelves appeared to be made of hardwood so he slid the knife that he had just picked up against the edge of the shelf. It cut through the wood smoothly and easily, these weapons indeed seemed to be good. He flinched as the blacksmith chuckled again. "Observant fellow aye, you all may test these weapons to your hearts content. I can guarantee they won't dull. I have some. I have some wooden dummies you can test them against in back." The man added gesturing to the back door which was left wide open, beyond that was indeed a few simple and beat up wooden dummies and beyond that he could see a forge.
"Thank you." The mage stated somewhat stiffly though he really didn't have much use for such things. His weapon of choice was magic, he didn't have much skill when it came to weapons, mostly he was just looking for a few good knives. He always kept a couple hidden on his person just in case he ever had need of them. Somewhere far outside the shop a bloodcurdling scream sounded off, although faint and far away the sheer terror within the scream was obvious. Blitz who had been by the mages side this whole time began growling softly. Was that normal for this town? One look at the blacksmiths face told the mage that it was not.

It was a bit of a surprise to find that Zakhar didn’t only accept his flirting but even returned it, causing the dragon’s smirk to grow into a genuine smile, eyes twinkling as he listened to the man’s reply. “If I didn’t know better I’d think you were complimenting me” he teased as the man spoke about him being a lot better looking than other dragons he’d met, though Kuro knew he’d only ever met the two back at the castle… if the snake creature even was a dragon, that one he wasn’t sure about. It was nice, seeing the man relaxing a bit and laughing, Kuro just hoped that anything they found in this world wouldn’t just break the man’s understanding attitude. As it was Kuro was content to walk and chatter, but before he could start letting loose Zakhar commented about their welcome, and the dragon glanced up, focusing back on his surroundings for the first time. The dragon tensed as he realized they were right outside of a town, the looks people were shooting them far from welcome, despite the few curious ones.

The dragon fell silent as they passed into the town, the sounds of birds and the rustling of wind replaced with the sounds of rattling horse-drawn carts, the barking of dogs in the distance, and of course the gossip of the townsfolk around them. Some called out that they were heroes, others scorned and accused them of being potential killers. Things quickly got violent as punches were thrown and Kuro flinched, a man stumbling dangerously close to him after being shoved by one of the guards.

The mage was already taking off, heading for the blacksmith’s and Kuro was quick to follow, hand shooting out to grip Zakhar’s wrist and tugging at it to get the man’s attention before he too took off, following the mage into the building and away from the chaos. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust, but when they did the dragon slowed to a stop, glancing around at all the weapons lining the walls. Some looked a bit like the ones from his home world, but most were very different than he was used to, the blades bigger and more substantial looking, some with wicked looking saw edges, some weapons bearing spikes and chains.

Almost instantly the dragon started walking around the shop, the worry from the fight gone, replaced with curiosity, a childish glint in his eyes, the same look a kid might get when allowed into a candy shop. The dragon looked at the larger blades curiously, but he didn’t touch them, instead of moving down to the smaller, lighter blades, picking up a slender bladed sword and stepping back. Kuro lifted it in his hand and tested the weight before gripping it and slashing it through the air, frowning slightly at the feeling, before he placed it back and started scanning the blades again.

Kuro had just reached for another sword when a bone-chilling scream split the air, and he snatched his hand back, spinning around to look at the others nervously, noting how the shopkeep’s reaction was just as surprised as the others. The dragon hurried over to the shop’s door and pulled it open, peering out but unable to see anything but people running around in a panic.

“This can’t be good.”

Thiago ::
The shouting of the people of the city was painfully loud to Thiago's newly developed hearing, especially when laid on top of the noises of civilization and industry. Squinting his golden eyes, he turned his head to try and hear Creus more clearly. "I'll be traveling with you, yes. Unfortunately I was one of the very few who've seen whats inside of that Storm and come out alive. If not...altered. As it is over Asi, I will be able to navigate the country to get us to the center and what if hopefully causing it." Pausing, he glanced over their surroundings as they approached the blacksmiths. The people were getting more and more riled, some shouting profanities while others called his charges saviors. Thiago hoped those people were right. Of course when he met anyone's eyes they either looked shocked or horrified, but being used to it by now he simply ignored them and pushed through into the shop behind Creus as fighting broke out among the people. In the relative quiet of inside, he breathed a sigh of relief even though the smell was almost overpowering.

Looking around the shop, Thiago was pleased to note that the craftsmanship was excellent. His charges would be well outfitted with weapons, at least, which they would need in the upcoming days. Stepping back as they began nosing through the selections, Thiago kept to the shadows as he also scanned what was offered. Unfortunately as a farmer he'd not been taught much in the way of weapons. He could wield a staff well enough, which his father taught him so that he could protect the flocks from creatures such as hungry dogs and the occasional thief. But a staff was not going to be of much use against the creatures the storm produced. Remembering the beast who'd attacked him, Thiago absentmindedly rubbed his shoulder which still bore the scarring of teeth. Would any of these weapons truly do much damage against such monsters? Looking at the ground awkwardly, Thiago hunched his shoulders and waited for the others to finish. No need to spread his negative thoughts, after-all.

A scream tore through the air, terror making it shrill. Tail fluffing up to nearly twice it's normal size, Thiago jerked his head up to stare at the door. Kuro was already poking his head out, so he could see people running through the streets in a panic. A wailing bay rang through the streets, loud even over the humans hollering. Paling, Thiago staggered back away from the door. Not again. He thought hysterically, heart racing. It was the same bellowing as before, on that night. Booming howls that rattled teeth and sent fear skittering all the way through whoever heard it; if they were normal anyway. Having experienced what such monsters could do, Thiago was terrified and it showed. "They'll kill everyone." He whispered, then realizing the others likely couldn't hear him and rushed towards Creus and gripped his arm tightly, for once uncaring about his claws. "Those are products of the Storm! They come first and slaughter everything in their path. They are the heralds of what is to come," he warned. "If you cannot stop these, this country will fall because much worse will follow."

Zakhar ::
Bristling as people shouted abuse at them, Zakhar turned his flinty glare from one person to the next, silently daring them to come closer. With his blood raised, he would happily brawl with whichever backwoods idiot decided to start something. And he'd enjoy it. Lips curled into a smile that was more bared teeth, Zakhar eyed a large brute of a man was who was close and cursing at them. 'Monster lovers' and 'outsiders' were one thing, but certain things involving their monsters and one another Zakhar wasn't about to take.
"Po'shyol 'na hui!*" Snarling out his own curse, he was about to launch himself at the man when Kuro grabbed his wrist and took off after the wizard.

Zakhar was startled enough that he allowed it, plus for such a willowy guy Kuro was surprisingly strong. Shooting back one last vicious glare he followed along quietly enough to the blacksmith's, but put up a token protest by grumbling. Some continued to shout, while others simply got out of their way and packed up shop. He preferred those, who didn't get into their faces in either anger or awe. Inside, the shop was luckily cooler and he breathed at the respite. Along the walls and on shelves were an assortment of weapons which appeared to be quality made. Humming in appreciation, Zakhar barely listened to the blacksmith as he scanned the wares. The words victims and survive caught his attention, and he shot the man a blasé look. It seemed very few people were optimistic they'd even make it out alive, more-less stop this 'Storm.'

Smirking to himself, Zakhar was nothing if not ornery and he was going to attempt to at least get back out alive if only to spite all the naysayers; even if he had to crawl. Poking through the shelves, he ignored the heavier weapons such as swords and maces in favor of the smaller blades. They might be less effective, but since he had no idea how to wield such things they'd be more of a hindrance. Not for the first time he wished for his gun, or any kind of modern weapon. A rifle would have been perfect since then he'd not have to get close and could pick off enemies from afar. But no, instead he was stuck with knives and swords and other medieval crap. Since he had his own knife which he was comfortable with he stayed away from those since he needed his money for other things as well. Instead, he focused on some of the throwing knives.

They were small, black and well balanced, he noticed, with no perforations and thick enough that they'd not bend when impaling something. They were nothing fancy, so not much upkeep, and the sides were blunt and smooth while the tip was extremely sharp. picking one up to examine it he noticed the markings on the shelves, and thought 'why not?' Flicking the small knife over his fingers easily and into position, he tossed it in a half spin rotation towards one of the wooden shelves away from the others. It stuck easily, a testament to its sturdiness and sharpness. "Huh." Walking over to pull it out, he examined it for any damage and nodded to himself. "I'll need six of these." He mused, more to himself than the blacksmith. He also noted the arm sheaths sitting in a crate underneath the self, the leather supple and easily hidden underneath a long sleeve shirt. Having them at his fingers tips would make his life easier as well. Picking up the sheath, Zakhar was about to ask about garroting wire when someone began screaming.

"The he*l?" As Kuro stuck his head outside Zakhar approached the door as well so that he could see better. People were scattering in a panic, some shopkeepers abandoning their wares as they too fled through the crowds. Pushing past Kuro and outside, he was almost instantly knocked into by a woman who was trying to keep her child with her. Ignoring them in favor of trying to see, a howl rattled the air, sounding so other it instantly put him on the defensive. Poking his head back through the door, he searched out Thiago who'd hopefully know w at was happening. The beastman was speaking to Creus and looking utterly petrified, his tail fluffed up like a startled kitten and golden eyes wide enough to take up most of his face. Ut would have been comical had it not boded bad news for them. "Hey, are we about to get into a fight?" He asked Thiago, with no small amount of a sarcasm for good measure. It apparently went right over Thiago's head as he simply nodded carefully. "Lovely." The baying was getting louder, and was close enough now to pick out the sounds of multiple creatures.

While the other two flocked to the door Creus held back wearily, having observed Thiago's frightened reaction on top of the panicking townspeople he knew this was bad. He also knew that he really didn't want any part of this. He was no hero, he was not a savior of any sort, he was just a thief who had been trying to survive alone in a world that hated his very existence. While he didn't necessarily wish death upon anyone he had more of a let this country protect their own people mentality. The other two where probably better suited to this than him but thankfully they where not the types to just pick up weapons and rush to the aid of the town folk. At least they hadn't yet done that anyway. So that begged the question, now what?

He for one didn't really know what to do in this situation however his instinct was to stay back and observe. The mage thief much preferred learning as much as he could before getting involved with dangerous things. Would it be okay if he just stayed here and watched?
"Well, what'r y'all waiting for! Get a move on saviors! Go save our people!" The blacksmith suddenly shouted picking up a few weapons he shoved them into each one of their hands. The man then proceeded to shove those who remained inside the shop out the door and into the chaos revealing surprising strength for such an old man.

Creus wasn't really prepared for having a weapon shoved in his hand and he barely had a chance to register it before the blacksmith shoved him, Kuro and Thiago out the door with a force that left him staggering. He glanced back as the blacksmith ran back inside, grabbed a large halberd off the wall and charged back out using the shaft of the weapon to shove them all toward the direction everyone was fleeing from. "Get a move on, your not saving anyone standing around and looking like startled deer!" The mans entire demeanor had suddenly changed and his strength didn't seem human. The mage was suddenly not sure whom he was more frightened of the creatures that where making those awful howling sounds or the blacksmith?

Every part of him wanted to shout that he didn't ask for any of this but he never got the chance as the blacksmith practically shoved him straight into one of the strangest creatures he had ever scene. The beasts claws where coming straight at him and all the mage could do was raise his hands still clinging to the weapon the blacksmith had shoved there in a feeble attempt to block the blow. He had no sword skills what so ever and after practically being thrown into the monster he just didn't have the time react with a defensive spell. When it came to physical strength he was no match for the beast at all, its power completely overwhelmed him and the creature threw him to the ground. His head spinning from the blow the mage could only barely hold back the beasts snapping jaws with the sheathed sword. For a brief moment he thought this was the end of him, until a familiar figure lunged at the beast driving it back.

With a ferocious snarl Blitz launched himself at the monster that had his person pinned, slamming into it with all the force the wolf could muster. The beast snarled angrily and slashed at the wolf with its claws but Blitz was just a hair quicker. The white wolf ducked out the the way just in the nick of time and swiftly returned biting and snapping at the creature repeatedly, driving it away just enough for his person to get up.

Despite the shock of the sudden attack Creus reacted quickly, springing to his feet he tossed the weapon down and didn't hesitate to attack. He may not necessarily choose to involve himself in these things but he certainly wasn't going to lay down and not fight back if forced to be a part of it. Using his swiftest attack magic, lightning he struck at the creature in the small window of time Blitz had given him. Lightning suddenly flashed across the air from the mages hand to the monster whom attacked him. For just a brief moment after the initial strike electricity crackled around them as the beast crumbled to the ground, its body burnt and smoking. It was only than that the mage got a good look it . The thing had a head somewhat shaped like that of a deer, it even had antlers like one but its mouth was nothing like that of a deer. Perhaps one could best describe it as if one removed a deers jaws and replaced them with something that loosely resembled a wolfs but left the rest of its head intact.

The beast was not dead, within seconds it began to stir and Blitz growled deeply as the beast stood up on two limbs like a person, its body still smoking. The rest of the creatures body looked somewhat like a distorted human, twisted slightly, its knees inverted and it was elongated at odd places. Even the beasts hands seemed human like but they where covered in scales and equipped with eagle like talons. Nothing about the creature made any sense visually, even its skin, smooth like a whales in some places, scaled in others and yet it had furry parts as well. The creatures feet where hooves like that of a deer but they where on backwards. It was almost like someone took a deer, tore it apart and rebuilt it using parts from all kinds of creatures some of which that didn't quite fit right and where just sort of glued together.
The beast stared at the mage for a moment, then with a furious below it charged fourth again, this time lowering its antlers toward him like an enraged bull.

Before Kuro knew what was happening, he had a weapon shoved into his hand by the blacksmith, him and his companions all being pushed outside into the chaos. Knowing that they were here to fight Kuro didn’t protest, tightening his grip on the weapon in his hands, a long simple spear. The weapon wasn’t as flashy or scary as a lot of the other ones were, but it felt strong and well balanced in his hands, He’d just have to trust that it wouldn’t snap or crack during the fight.

They were in the thick of it now, unnatural beasts rampaging through the town. The mage had gotten one of the worst it seemed, a huge nasty looking thing with a body that appeared to be made up of more than just one animal. The dragon’s first thought was to help, but before he could get close to the mage, a dark shadow fell over him, a sudden earsplitting screech ringing out.

Kuro’s mismatched eyes snapped up just in time to see something large and dark falling through the air toward him, tattered wings propelling it right for him. With such a small window to react in Kuro went on the defensive, not having time to run. With a swift flourish, he whipped his spear around, bracing it against the ground and dropping into a half kneeling position, doing his best to minimize the space between the spearhead and himself. There was a dull wet thud as the thing landed chest first onto the blade, but of course that didn’t do much more than distract it, the beast wailing and flailing around, sharp claws lashing out at Kuro as he yanked on the spear, moving away from the head of it and the skewered creature, spinning around to finally get at good look at it while he braced against the spear, keeping the thing just out of reach.

Now that he had a moment to take in the appearance of his attacker Kuro felt his blood run cold, facing down something he’d never even imagined to think about. Its face was a gnarled, twisted mockery of a dog’s, hackles permanently stuck in a snarl, eyes blood red with not a sign of a pupil anywhere. Its body was huge and hunched, a twisted blend of an animals and a man’s. Every inch of skin was covered in wiry black fur while its surface was drawn taught over a frame of bones as if the thing was starved almost to death. Its arms were abnormally long, hands dragging on the ground or grabbing the spear pole, almost long enough to reach Kuro’s own hands. Its legs were bent like an animal, but it looked a bit awkward… all of that wasn’t that shocking, what was shocking was the fact that from this things back was a set of ragged bat-like wings, though they looked like they’d been forced up through the skin, loose flesh hanging from where the wings joined it’s back, dried blood and matted fur surrounding the base.. And the smell, the smell was horrible, like the thing had been living in a pit of corpses.

Stifling a gag Kuro shoved the spear forward, forcing the beast back before he gave one good yank back, almost wretching as the spear pulled free, releasing a gush of dark blood and even more of that horrible rotting smell. The Dragon quickly backed away from the beast, pressing an arm over his nose and mouth for a moment before gripping his spear again and readying himself for another attack, wishing the blacksmith had also given them shields or some armor.

Even in the midst of all the chaos of the streets, the blacksmith's booming voice could be heard as he all but shoved Creus, Kuro, and Thiago out the door. With an exasperated huff, Zakhar moved aside so he'd not be run into and was about to lay into the blacksmith when a short sword was placed roughly in his grip. Fumbling to keep from dropping the weapon, he turned it over in his untrained hands and cringed at the feeling. After so many years using a lighter, boxier gun, a sword was way out of his area of expertise. If anything, he had a feeling he'd more than likely hurt himself more than his opponent with it. About to say so, the blacksmith's last words pulled Zakhar up short and he could only stare at the door that was suddenly slammed shut in their faces. Save people? Was he out of his damned mind?

The ugly truth of the situation suddenly began much more apparent. These people really expected them to be some kind of heroes. He didn't know Creus or Kuro well enough to know their views, but he was sure the magic that'd been used to summon them had grabbed him by mistake. After all, Zakhar was a brigadier of a mafia. He grifted and killed people, sometimes brutally, to meet his goals. He wasn't in the business of saving people unless they were family or he was getting paid. Sneering at the sheer stupidity of the entire situation, Zakhar was about to thrown the sword to the ground and follow the towns people strictly out of spite when the monsters attacked. Creus got the first one, a monstrous deer looking creature, but appeared that between his magic and Blitz he'd do fine. Kuro's flying breast was quickly impaled so Zakhar glanced towards their unfortunate fourth member. Thiago had thrown himself underneath an overturned sales cart, his golden eyes the only part of him visible shining from the darkness.

Figuring the beastman was safe enough, he swiftly took stock of his surroundings; when he didn't see anything in his immediate vicinity started towards Kuro to see about helping. Creus had his magic and a wolf. Plus, he didn't seem to type to appreciate anyone aiding in his battles. Kuro might have been a dragon, but without any kind of proof yet shown he was more human than a wizard in Zakhar's mind. Which was of course the moment that Thiago shouted with surprised fear, voice more a feline yowl than human. Whirling around, he stiffened in horror at the sight of the creature sniffing underneath the cart. Sure he'd taken note of the monsters the other two were fighting, but only in the abstract. They were enemies and obviously scary, but without actually having to engage them he hadn't paid more attention then that. But this.. tle="thing" target="_blank">thing he was going to have to do something about before it took a chunk out of their guide.

Zakhar couldn't have said what it had been based off of, something quadrupedal. It was brownish with short fur, and so skinny that almost every bone on it's body protruded. It's legs were unnaturally long, with it's 'fingers' even more-so. The paws looked almost like grotesque human hands sans thumb, tipped in claws. It was the monsters face that had Zakhar pausing, however. If he grew to be a hundred (which was not looking promising as things stood) Zakhar would have nightmares which would include the beasts awful face. It was... eerily human, which had been stretched over a muzzled animals skull. It's sunken eyes were bright gold, not unlike Thiago's he belatedly realized, and it's horrible mouth was lip-less and filled with elongated, human teeth. Said teeth which had narrowly missed Thiago's tail.

Had it been any other villager who'd been trapped, Zakhar would have forgone helping them. No matter how crappy of a human that made him, Zakhar felt no sympathy nor responsibility for these people. One dying so he could aid one of the others wasn't going to make Zakhar lose an ounce of sleep at night. Thiago, however, was a different story. Not only had he not been a complete ass, but he would be useful to complete this mission so Zakhar could get back to his own world. Zakhar needed a distraction, something to get the beasts attention on him. No matter how much his hindbrain screamed at him not to. Luckily for Thiago, Zakhar's fight or flight reflexes had mostly been knocked out of him. The short sword, he realized, would be useless to him if attacked but if he could sneak up on something and stab? How hard could it be?

Turning the unwieldy blade so it sat in his hand more like he would use a hunters knife, Zakhar prayed Thiago would keep the beasts attention long enough for him to get behind it. Luckily, the beastman's feline screeches held the monsters scrutiny and silently Zakhar snuck up. When he was close enough to stab, he was also suddenly in the monsters peripheral vision and just as it swung it's head around to stare at him Zakhar struck in a side-sweep. Knowing anatomy had come in handy before, and it did again as the blade sunk deep between it's protruding ribs almost to the hilt. The beast gave a high pitched shriek and whirled around on it's ungainly paws to take a bite at Zakhar. Dodging backwards and out of the way, Zakhar's hands can up in defense in the resting Sambo position. Watching the monster carefully, Zakhar noted it listing to the side where the blade was sticking out and he figured if he could shove it a bit deeper there was a chance of it piercing the heart.

Creus might still have been in a bit of shock after coming face to
face with such a monster but when the creature started charging him he
still managed to react in time. Stumbling back slightly  he summoned an
earth wall in front of him just as the beast got within striking range.
It hit hard, up until then only one other creature he had encountered
had enough strength to bust down that type of magic and that was the
dragon. Thankfully while the wall did crumble it did successfully put a
stop the its attack as the impact seemed to momentarily throw it off.
It was further distracted as Blitz came up behind attacked its legs.

The
mage did not hesitate to take advantage of this and put some distance
between himself and the creature, calling Blitz back to his side. If the
beast did that much damage to his earth wall spell, then he did not
even want to image what it could do if it hit the wolf. He wasn't about
to loose his one and only friends. Furthermore this also made him
realize how lucky he had just been when it had pinned him down. Had the
beast not been caught by surprise when the blacksmith shoved him into it
chances where it would have done much more severe damage.

As
soon as Blitz starting coming to him the creature shook its head and
stumbled back a step and then started to charge again but this time,
Creus was prepared. The mage had a lot more tricks up his sleeve than
just that and more powerful spells t his disposal as well. Generally
speaking he was hesitant to use them as they used up a lot more magic
and he did not have indefinite energy at his disposal. The more powerful
magic he used, the faster he ran out and the faster he was left without
defense. Up until now it hadn't made a difference, his magic was more
than sufficient to deal with an average human if they attacked him. Here
though, he would definitely need to establish a good back up plan. He
would need to learn how to protect himself without magic if he wanted to
be certain that he would survive.

Now was not the time to
think of that though, the monster quickly closed the distance but fell
straight into his trap. The ground suddenly gave in beneath it and the
creature fell into a pit, though not deep by any means it was just
narrow enough to hold it still long enough for the mage to finish it off
with an ice spear through its heart, or at least where he hoped its
heart was. It let out an eerily human like cry and writhed for several
moments before it finally went limp. The mage didn't dare go near
however, instead he pulled the ice spear free from a safe distance and
jabbed it with it a few times to ensure it wasn't faking it or anything.

He then wearily turned his gaze to his two companions,
watching their battles. Should he help? They seemed to be doing okay as
far as he could tell, would they want his interference or prefer that he
stay out of their way? After a moment, he decided to only interfere if
they obviously needed it or asked for help. He also noticed that the
blacksmith was no where in sight. Where there more monsters or was that
it? He didn't hear any more screams but that didn't necessarily mean
much, town guards or whomever was supposed to protect the common people
would probably have engaged any other monster in battle by ow if they
where going to. If not, well given the lack of screams then hopefully
people got to safety at least.

The huge bat-like creature was wary now of this small human looking creature with the sharp stick, a low, threatening growl rumbling from its jaws as it slowly started circling Kuro, the dragon shifting, turning in a slow circle of his own, making sure the bloodied spearhead was aimed right at the beast. They staid like this, neither making a move, neither backing down, that is until the creature suddenly lunged forward, no warning of tensed muscle or shifting stance, just a sudden burst of movement.

Kuro was quick enough to react, pulling the spear up but not having time to brace himself. The beast slammed itself shoulder first into the spear, but it was smart, twisting so that, with the spear still embedded in its shoulder, it yanked the weapon out of Kuro’s hands, causing the dragon to stagger forward. Put off balance he didn’t have much time to react as the thing pounced, one large hand like paw slamming into his side and sending him flying, slamming into the ground hard. The beast screeched and used its teeth to yank at the spear, tearing it free and throwing it aside before rounding on its downed opponent, a large clawed paw sweeping down, aimed for his chest…

Before those wicked claws hit flesh Kuro’s hand shot out, gripping the paw and grunting as he braced it away from his body, eyes narrowed at the creature above him, struggling with it, the air around the combatants seeming electrified and heavy. There was a burst of energy, the beast yelping and pulling back, but not before there was a burst of light and mist, Kuro’s body rapidly changing, elongating and growing, getting more serpentine and growing to a size slightly larger than a Clydesdale horse, a low growl leaving him as his long new form sprang forward, claws wrapping around the beast’s chest as he slammed it to the ground.

The two then got into a wrestling match, rolling around and snapping their jaws at each other, but it was clear Kuro had the upper hand, his long flexible body easily wrapping around the creature like a snake.

Keeping a careful eye on the monster, Zakhar and his opponent circled one another; both looking for an opening. Knowing that one bite from the creature would cripple him at least, kill him at worst, the human knew to keep as far away from the business end of the monster as possible. But how to kill it without getting too close? It was eyeballing him like prey, continuously emitting a gurgling growl, so the likelihood of distracting it was slim. Zakhar took a step backwards. The beast took one closer. "Come on you ugly son of bi-!" All but throwing himself to the side to avoid the head on collision the beast was intending, Zakhar skidding across the ground but kept his feet underneath him - still facing the monster. With it's unnaturally long limbs it was unwieldy, almost clumsy, and fared worse as it ran face first into the cart hiding Thiago. Wood splintered under the impact and the beast turned an accusing, vicious glare in his direction as it got back to it's feet and turned back to face him.

"Not to bright, are you?" Black blood was flowing from the wound between it's ribs, the hilt of the blade moving with every raspy breadth it took. Thiago suddenly bolted from the now ruined cart, momentarily distracting the beast who slowly turned it's head to watch him. Zakhar inwardly cringed and decided if they survived to sit the beastman down and explain the meaning of 'Stupid Decisions'. Instead, Zakhar whistled loudly, regaining its attention. "Nuh uh, it's me and you buddy! I doubt he'll taste good, you know with the fur and all." Sending the beast and sardonic smirk, Zakhar figured the snarl he got in return was answer enough. Great, now what? The monster cocked it's head to the side, and in a very unsettling, human-like gesture squinted its eyes as if contemplating something. Suddenly it lunged towards him, though off to one side and Zakhar realized too late what had happened as he again dodged. He'd thought it stupid, animalistic, but it had calculated his movements enough to know what he'd do from the first attack and countered it.

As it landed it shot one long forearm towards where it knew Zakhar would move to, catching his side and hip and sending the human tumbling to the ground. His lightweight jacket took the brunt of its claws, which had luckily been at an odd angle, but the sheer force of it was enough for him to know he'd be black and blue by morning. Grunting on impact, Zakhar's training allowed for him to ignore the flare of pain for the time being and focus on not dying. Rolling to the side just as the monster took a more direct strike at his face and neck, Zakhar was able to scrabble to his feet to avoid any other blows and found himself backed against one of the large stalls' front counters. Internally cursing, Zakhar was beginning to realize he was outmatched and would need to finish this quickly. Grunting, the human feinted to the side and used the moment of distraction to throw himself over the counter to use it as a momentary shield. The monster howled in frustration and began rounding it, to which Zakhar did the opposite, panting.

The game of cat and mouse came to an end as it finally gave a frustrated roar and leap atop the wooden counter and snapped it's eerie teeth to close to Zakhar's face than was comfortable. Ducking away, he suddenly found something from the shop against the back of his legs and underneath his feet that sent him into an awkward scrabble to keep his footing. Cussing frantically, he felt the monster lunge more than he saw it and used his arm to stop it from taking a chunk out of his torso. The monsters weight sent him to the ground, with it on top and snapping in his face. With a forearm braced against it's throat to try to keep it at bay, he used the other to grab underneath its bottom jaw for better leverage. He was only human and the monster was pushing with enough power Zakhar knew it was a lost battle. Hissing with fury and terror, Zakhar used the extra adrenaline to shove it back at least a couple of inches. Not that it would do him much good in the long run. One clawed foot was digging into his shoulder, and Zakhar could feel a bit of blood leaking from the flesh wounds.

Suddenly the monster pushed away with a shriek of surprise and pain, whirling around to desperately gnaw at it's hind leg. Gasping in a couple of breaths, Zakhar knew now was his only chance. If it was able to get that close again he'd be screwed. Without much thought or planning the human took a page from the beasts book and simply lunged at it. With his hands braced together he used his full body weight to slam them into the hilt of the blade still shoved between it's ribs and into its heart. The monster whined in surprise, golden eyes flashing once before almost instantly dulling over as it staggered a for second then collapsed. In it's last seconds it shot Zakhar a look of accusation and condemnation, as if blaming him for everything. Panting heavily, Zakhar groaned aloud and carefully lowed himself to the ground a few feet from the beasts body.

Now that the battle was over he tiredly took stock of his various aches and pains. His shoulder stung like hell, but it was nothing compared to the bone deep ache in his side and hip. "I hope you rot." He grumbled to the monster, shooting it a irate glare. Upon closer inspection of the body, he noticed the thin needle-like quills protruding from its back leg. There was not much blood around them, but the flesh was already turning black and putrid, like the quills had been dipped in some sort of flesh-eating venom. "The hell?" So that was what had caused it to back off. The question was now, what had done it and where was the culprit? Because Zakhar was too tired to deal with much else and he was sitting on his backside like an idiot. Brows scrunching, he shifted to get up with a weary groan when something moved from the boxes littering the destroyed shop. "Oh come on!" Zakhar hissed, but before he could get to his feet a small shadow emerged cautiously, little blue nose twitching.

"Well, I wasn't expecting you," Zakhar muttered. The small ferret shaped creature padded towards him, beady red eyes wide and fixated on him. It was a light silver in color with blue streaks along it's flanks, and with a tail colored much like a raccoon. But what caused Zakhar concern was the spars quills along its back. "Hey buddy, I don't mean you any harm." He cooed desperately, awkwardly standing so his squishiest bits were further from its teeth and barbs. From the crushed wooden crate, or cage, to the side he had a feeling that's what he'd stumbled over and stepped on - and what had nearly gotten him killed. The creature must have been inside it. It didn't appear threatened though and it stood up on it's hind legs, looking a lot like a ferret and very much not. Deciding it couldn't hurt anything, he clicked his tongue like he would with a cat or dog. It cocked its head to the side and suddenly bolted for him. Being that it was a lot smaller and faster than the monster he'd killed, Zakhar didn't have time to stop it from scaling his pants leg then shirt to settle on his shoulder like some amorous scarf. Of course, Zakhar had squawked and thrashed the entire time to try and keep it off; to no avail.

"Hey," He hissed, "Watch those quills!" Being that they were right next to his face and neck, he didn't dare try to pluck it off lest it become angry. Instead he looked towards the sky and inwardly whimpered. "I hate this world." The ferret thing didn't seem displeased by his moving, however, and instead chirped curiously and settled deeper into his collar and relaxed. Side eying it, Zakhar took a slow step forward and when it didn't seem agitated slowly made his way back out onto the streets to see how the others were faring. Creus was alive and moving, which was a plus, and his monster was...in a pit. He didn't want to know what kind of freaky stuff the wizard had pulled to manage that. However, the sight of the flying monster wrapped up in a dragon was even more bizarre. Not that he thought the day could get any weirder. "Is that..." He didn't finished the sentence as he cautiously walked over to Creus, hoping the sounds and movement of the fight didn't freak out his newly acquired resident. It hissed softly, pupiless red eyes on the fight and quills slowly starting to rise. "Easy." He whispered, tilting his head to the side desperately. To his surprise, when a quill brushed his face it wasn't sharp, but rather limp and almost metallic. Still, Zakhar had seen what they could do. Flicking his dark gaze from the dragon back to the ferret then back again, Zakhar inwardly wondered just how bad this entire mission was going to become if this was the first day.

Just s he finished up his battle he saw as the monster pin Zahkar, though he was a bit hesitant to get involved he did prepare another attack spell. Lightning magic fizzled to life in his hand but he was distracted by something else, the sudden appearance of a dragon. Even though Kuro had stated he was one, seeing the dragon for himself was still a bit of a shock however what really threw the mage off was the intense burst of energy that came with it. That level of power was nearly overwhelming and he couldn't help but step back slightly watching for a moment in awe before he remembered Zakhar. His battle was already over by the time the mage looked back and he honestly wasn't quite sure what he was seeing. A strange creature was perched on the guys shoulder and it didn't seem too happy, at least it seemed quite fixated on the fight until Zahkar spoke to it? Odd.

"Uh, what is that and why is it there?" The mage couldn't help but ask eyeing the strange creature wearily. It was small and did not appear nearly as dangerous as the other creatures but why in the world would that guy allow it to perch on his shoulder like someones pet parrot? Surely getting attacked by strange monsters was more than enough to discourage someone from allowing another strange creature near them like that? It may be small but who knew how dangerous it really was. They where all in another world after all or all he knew that little thing could be stronger then the other monsters. "Do you need help getting rid of it..?" he asked a bit uncertainly, Zahkar didn't seem to be trying to though and the mage didn't understand why. Had he missed something while he was fighting?

"Also...that dragon is Kuro, I saw him transform..." Creus added  in response to what Zahkar had started saying before he quieted the strange creature. Glancing up at the sky he watched the fight for a moment but he kept a close eye on Zahkar and the strange creature. Blitz at least seemed oblivious to it, the wolf stood close and seemed to be watching the battle as well. The wolfs body posture was tense and his hackles where raise but he wasn't poised to attack. He was just attentive and nervous and the mage couldn't blame him. Who wouldn't be nervous when suddenly attacked by strange monsters and then face with an epic battle between dragon and monster in the sky above? Should they try to find a way to help Kuro? He wasn't sure how though at that distance he could accidentally hit the wrong target

The two titans twisted and fought in the air for a good while longer, a mass of flashing claws and snapping jaws, the wings of the beast frantically flapping, keeping them aloft, though Kuro’s serpentine body was doing just fine keeping them in the air on its own. Kuro shifted, loosening around the creature in an attempt to get a better position to attack, but that was a mistake. With its small amount of new found freedom, the creature twisted around, a loud screech escaping it before its jaws closed around a section of Kuro’s neck. At first, its teeth just hit his scales, but then it shook it’s head, like a dog wrestling a toy, those sharp fangs snagging at his scales and tearing them free, sending a shower of glittering golden scales and scarlet blood raining down as it’s bite finally sank in.

The dragon let out a bellow of pain and anger, sharp talons digging into the things body as an electrical burst filled the air, a full of bold of lightning flashing from Kuro’s body and smacking the beast dead center in the chest, killing it almost instantly. Now, with its dead body hanging from his neck Kuro twisted in the air, attempting to pull its teeth free, claws scrabbling at the corpse as pained whines escaped him. Eventually, he managed to get free of the thing and with one powerful bat of his paw he sent it shooting downward, the beast slamming into the side of an alley hard, smashing some crates and sending shingles tumbling down from the roof.

Still whining the dragon slowly sank down to the ground, wind whipping around his body as his back pauses touched down, his body shuddering and shrinking, changing form, growing smaller, more humanoid, until he was once again his human self, stumbling as his feet touched the ground, a hand going up to press against the large jagged teeth marks along his shoulder and the crook of his neck before his legs gave out, and he fell to his knees.

His clothing was torn, having not been made to withstand such a fight, but miraculously it was still on him, having not just been sheered off as he changed forms, though that could be because it was made for a dragon and not for a human.

Realizing he had an audience Kuro lifted his head, glancing over his companions before looking around, struggling back up to his feet, blood oozing from between his fingers. “Everyone okay?” he asked carefully, not sure how he should feel about all of this, having hoped to save his whole changing act until he knew them all better.

The roars and snarls of the dragon and creature quickly grew louder, the two writhing together in the air until Zakhar could not tell where one began and the other ended. Their movements were almost to fast for his human eyes to keep up with, particularly from a safe distance, but the scales and blood that rained down on the ground make it appear that Kuro wasn't the one coming out on top. Wincing in sympathy, he knew he'd be no use to the dragon even with a long range weapon; he'd just as likely hit Kuro. But maybe the wizard would be more useful? Which also made him realize that Creus was speaking to him, watching the ferret on his shoulder wearily. Not that Zakhar could blame him. As if realizing it was being spoke about, the small creature hissed menacingly at Creus, digging it's sharp little claws into Zakhar's shoulder and wrapping it's long tail around his neck. "Don't pi*s it off while it's right next to my face!"

Reaching up, Zakhar kept a weary eye on the fight while slowly trying to untangle the ferret. It squeaked at his attempts and simply burrowed closer, quills falling onto its back and taking away the threat of them poking the human. Giving a disgusted grunt, Zakhar simply gave up and threw Creus an irritable frown. "It don't seem like it wants to go anywhere, and as long as it's not doing anything but hitching a ride it's alright to stay." The air suddenly prickled with electricity before a wave of energy caused Zakhar to take a step back and shield his eyes with his arm. When he thought it was safe to look again, the beast was dead and Kuro was writhing around trying to pry the dead monsters fangs from his neck. "Besides, I think we've got bigger problems than my new 'friend'."

If seeing a dragon was strange, watching one slowly morph into a human was worse. Kuro looked worse for wear as he landed, blood oozing between his fingers even thought he'd ultimately won. Huh, I'm human and I fared better. Guess I gotta thank my new companion for that. Feeling grateful, Zakhar slowly reached up and carefully stroked the ferrets head, wondering if he was about to get bit for the trouble. Instead it arched against his hand like a cat, chirping. "Guess I owe you." He murmured to it, looking back in time to see Kuro struggle back to his feet and ask if they were okay. Huffing a bitter laugh, Zakhar shook his head. "It actually looks like you came out the worst. Unless the stoic over here is hiding a deadly wound." Jerking his head in Creus' direction, he also noticed they were missing their fourth. Suddenly not caring and done with the entire mission already, Zakhar glared towards the blacksmiths shop and wished he'd have thought to lead his monster inside before he'd killed it.
