Touko's eyes scanned the area below her. The bright lights of Nimbasa city at night reminded her of that time that N had taken her there. She hadn't seen the green-haired boy since he rode off on Reshiram. She couldn't help but worry about him. Was he alright? Was he eating? Where was he, in fact?
Her light blue eyes lost their light as she exited the ride. She felt Cinccino's pokeball vibrate in her pocket. She pulled it out, and the pokemon released itself, crawling up her body to sit on her shoulders like a small child. It placed its hand-like paws on her head, and Touko didn't smile as Cinccino's soft fur tickled her ears.
The pokemon tried to cheer her up by acting happy, but the truth was that, unless Touko was happy, none of her pokemon were happy. She sat down on the side of a nearby exhibit and sighed. She'd heard reports of Team Plasma tormenting people and pokemon again, and she wondered why they didn't just give up after she'd defeated Ghestis. She couldn't help but think of how N looked that day when he left.
He looked like a god, sitting on top of Reshiram like that, and she couldn't help but wish that she wouldn't have let him go. She could've convinced him to stay, and to regain his bearings and learn about the real world with her or her friends, at least. Why was she feeling this undeniable regret?

Once or twice N had dosed off, but was soon to be awaken by a sudden --- a what? A sound? A disturbance? A thought? What? He didn't know what is causing him this uncomfortable feeling deep inside him, a feeling of longing? He should feel okay, despite the fact that Team Plasma is still causing trouble and still looks up to him as their Lord N.
He stood up and stretched, no longer able to sleep until he can find out what is bothering him. He walked away from the rock with Zorua at his heals. "Zorau?!"
'Where are we going, Lord N?'
N whirled around and glared down at his pokemon, eyes full of anxiety. "Don't call me, Lord N! I wish not to be called that by my own Pokemon! Do you understand?!" he snapped.
Zorua took a few steps back in surprise, staring up into his master's eyes. N sighed and bent down towards his frightened friend, "I am sorry, Zorua. I didn't mean to frighten you. It's just that, there is a lot going on. I don't feel the same way I do. I don't know what's wrong."
Zorua sniffed N's hand, "Zor! Zor! Zorua Zor!"
'I smell guilt, regret, longing, and love.'
"Love? why would I feel love? And longing? Maybe you sniffer needs tune up," N's face went red. "Here, L... Let's just go to Nimbasa. I could use a cup of cappuccino right now."

Touko put her head against the wall, and she sighed, calling Cinccino back into her pokeball. Cincinno gave Touko a sad look before the laser pulled her into the red and white ball.
Touko stood, dusted her legs off, and bit her lip. Coffee always made her feel better. Yes. Coffee. She had been feeling sluggish lately anyways, so she had a good reason for it. She took off in the direction of the city's famous cafe. It sold pastries, coffee, soups, and salads; that was all.
When she arrived, she ordered a cup of coffee that was so strong that she was sure it would wake her up. Taking a seat at a nearby rave, a two-seated, Touko sipped the hot coffee quietly.

N readjusted his cap before entering the cafe. Zorua followed him, changing into a human girl with long dark hair and violet eyes. N looked down at him, "Why a girl?" he asked. The Zorua-human shrugged, then continued to follow his master into the shop.
When N entered, he thought he saw a familiar girl sitting by herself at a table. He stood there for a moment, until his face finally went red when he realized it was Touko. He tipped his cap down over his eyes and hurried to the counter. 'Maybe she doesn't see me, or remember me.' he thought.
The Zorua-human hurried after N, grabbing onto his arm and looking up at him with curiosity. N gestured over towards Touko, and the Zorua-girl smiled. "Zorua," it whispered to him. N's face went even redder and he turned away. The Zorua-girl just giggled though, and continue to hold onto his arm.

Touko was half-way through with her coffee when she saw an oh-so-familiar figure walk in and order coffee. Was that N? Surely she was hallucinating. Maybe she'd gone crazy. Maybe she was insane. Whatever the case, it didn't stop Touko from making eye contact. Who was that girl with N? Was that his girlfriend?
As N walked out, Touko felt anger rise inside of her stomach, threatening to boil out if her mouth. She dropped her coffee cup, rose to her feet, and walked out of the door behind N in an angry stor. When he had his back turned on her, sh jumped on him. Nope. This was definately not a hallucination. Beating angrily on her rival's back, Touko began to yell at him until she went hoarse

N widened his eyes in shock and turned around and held her by the shoulders. His cap fell off of his head due to Touko's fit. His face was still red as he looked into her eyes. "Touko? Is... is that you?"
The Zorua-girl giggled, coming over and grabbing N's arm. She giggled again and whispered in N's ear. "Zorua! Zorua Zor!"
N's face went even redder, "Kn...knock it off..." he told her/him. Zorua giggled again and looked at Touko, stuck her tongue out, and laughed again.

Touko struggled under N's grip. The giggling and whispering of the girl only made her more angry. Her face reddened and she tried to break free of the green-haired boy's grip. She was nothing but pure rage. "Let me go you coward! And you, you better stop laughing at me before I punch your face so hard that people will have to search for your nose," she said to the Zorua girl, eyes flashing with anger as she struggled harder to break free of N.

"Touko, Touko, calm down. What is wrong?" he asked the girl in rage. He turned his gaze back on the giggling girl, "Zorua, enough." he growled. Zorua blinked, then shifted itself back into its pokemon form. "Zorua!"
N looked back at Touko, "Now, please, calm down and tell me why you're acting like this."

Touko growled and looked down as N asked her questions. She made no eye contact with him. She yanked herself free of his grip, eyes ablaze. "You ran, and now you have the courage to show your face around me?!" She bit get lip, trying to supress her anger. Her attempts were in vain, though, as she reared back with her left hand, and swung it towards N's face, hoping to slap him on the cheek.

N got hit by Touko's hand on his cheek. He stood there, shocked and surprised. His cheek was red, and warm now. Zorua started to growl and prepared for an attack, but N stopped him. "I understand that you are upset with me... I did not mean to upset you." he said as calmly as he could. 'The truth was though, I didn't want to leave you. But I had to. How am I suppose to tell her that?' he thought.

Touko clenched her fists. Tears were hidden behind her eyes, and she refused to let them through. She kept them shut back. "You left, and I didn't see you for a long time. I thought you were dead! You as-"
"Zekrom!" The black pokemon said as it came out of its pokeball. It turned to N, and slightly growled. This man was the cause of his mistress's tears. I'll destroy you if she doesn't stop crying. You're causing all of this, you little twig.
The rest of Touko's words were cut off by Zekrom's roar. She was going to call him quite an unpleasant name, but Zekrom had saved N's ears from it. She turned to her pokemon, and stroked the space between his eyes lovingly.

People around them stopped to stare at the magnificent Zekrom. N's Reshiram appeared before them as well, now sharing the spotlight with Zekrom. "Reshi!"
'N has love for the girl, but he had no choice but to leave! It is not only the girl who is crying on the inside.'
N stared up at his vast white pokemon, then to Zekrom, then at Touko.
"Touko, please, I didn't want to leave but I had to. Please understand," Tears were starting to swell up in his eyes as well, and he turned away so she couldn't see it. One was already falling down his cheek though, as he clenched his fists.

Touko bit her lip, wanting with all of her being to be able to wish that what N said wasn't true; she wished she had a reason to hate him, but now she didn't. Her bright blue eyes turned up at N. "I understand."
Zekrom was about to interject, but he heard his mistress speak. She understood? That wasn't like Touko to say that. Maybe she was sick? Zekrom nudged his mistress's back a bit, hoping that he could somehow comfort her.
"I.... Team Plasma is back, N."

N nodded, "I know. But trust me, I have no doing in this. I may still be there leader, but... but I have tried to understand you trainer's point of view." he sighed, a tear still streaming down his face. He turned to face her, "Please... please don't be mad at me, Touko." he begged.
Reshiram looked down at him, then looked up at Zekrom and huffed at the vast black Pokemon. He wasn't pleased to see his old rival, but he was not willing to fight either. "Reshiiiii,"
'The being of truth shall not fight with the being of ideal today, at this moment. Let's keep peace for now, my Master and your Mistress needs us.' N looked up at his Pokemon and patted its leg, "Thank you, Reshiram."
"Reshiram!"
'As long as you hold the potential of truth, your wish is my command.'

Touko nodded, and Zekrom narrowed his eyes at Reshiram, still not trusting either N or the white pokemon. After all, they were exact opposites, even though they were one pokemon a long time ago.
Touko sighed and blinked a few times before saying, "Don't cry." It was a command, and not a plea. There was no tenderness in her voice, but she truly felt bad about seeing this boy cry. This boy, who was two heads taller than she, had a tear falling down her face.
Touko's anger had faded, though it was still there. It probably wouldn't leave for a while. "Where did you go when you left? Did you have anywhere to go?" Her face held a neutral ex
pression now, and she kept her eyes on N's, but she allowed a glance at the shiny tear on his cheek. She reached up and wiped it away.
"It was annoying me," she said, trying to dismiss the fact that she had shown a tender gesture to her rival.

N looked away, obviously answering the question with that gesture. "I... let's just say I went away." he sighed. An urge of him wanted to take away her pokemon, and say that people and pokemon should be separated. Pokemon should not be slaves, but that was just his Plasma side speaking to him.
Reshiram became quickly annoyed with all the staring eyes up at him and his rival. He glared down at every human, roaring and creating a blast of fire in his mouth, careful not to shoot at anyone. The humans and pokemon below became frightened and ran off, but the police did not budge at all.
N groaned, "We should get out of here. I have a feeling that if both Reshiram and Zekrom are here, Plasma will surely follow. And the last thing I need is to have Ghetsis catching me with you. Reshiram!"
Reshiram bent down and let his Master climb onto his neck. He roared and soared up into the air. "Come on Touko!" N shouted from up high.

Touko was a bit surprised at Reshiram's sudden outburst. Had her dearest Zekrom annoyed the poor dear? She sighed, and couldn't help but reminisce about the moment that N first left her. When he climbed onto the back of Reshiram for the second time that she'd seen him, she felt tears sting in her eyes.
She bit her lip nervously, mentally swearing that if she let the tears show, she'd throw herself off of Zekrom to save being ridiculed. She took a deep breath, pushed away the memory, and reluctantly climbed onto the back of her black dragon pokemon.
She held firmly onto his neck as Zekrom jumped into the air, his wings not moving at all. It was almost as if he was levitating. That could've been possible, given that she didn't see the logic in how the pokemon could even fly, given that its wings were proportionately too small to even lift it off of the ground. Hey, maybe Zekrom did gravitate instead of flying.
She made sure to keep Zekrom away from Reshiram, scared of the conflict that would happen if they actually made contact. She thought of the first time that they fought, that massive battle that she and N held against eachother long ago.
"Where are we going?" Touko asked, making sure that the tears in her eyes stayed just there- in her eyes.

N had enough trouble concentrating on not letting any more tears escape his eyes. He didn't want Touko to see that he was weak. He loved her, more than anything, but even he didn't realize that himself.
"I... I don't know. Anywhere. Just.... don't... leave.... me.... And I won't leave you." He said the last sentence with great difficulty. It was weird saying that to her, after so many years of trying to escape her after being defeated by her in battles. Though he acted cool, confident, and understanding, he was afraid that --when he actually believed that she used pokemon for no good-- would hurt him and his little pocket monster friends. He cared for them, they were his only true family. Touko --back then-- was just a girl that he loved to test, loved to see whether or not she was meant to be a Hero, or a criminal. Loved to see her get angry at him, loved their little battles, and loved to hear her pokemon love her. That was a sign. He should've took that in long ago. A sign.
He looked back at her, making sure that Zekrom kept pace. He couldn't afford to lose her again. It tore his heart when he chose to leave. 'But I had to,' he reminded himself. 'I couldn't stay.'

Touko sighed. Great. There was madness, but no plan. Of course, that had always been what her life was like.
She watched as Zekrom followed behind Reshiram at his own pace, making sure to stay as far away as possible without lagging behind. The last thing that he knew his mistress wanted was to lose sight of N. That would simply make her go crazy all over again.
She watched the ground flit by below her, and looked forward at N's green hair.

The wind breezed through N's hair, making it flow in the breeze. His shirt and necklace waved in the air as well. Although he wore a smile on his face, his eyes were dull and sad.
Reshiram landed in a middle of an empty field, next to a forest. N hopped off of the pokemon and landed on his feet on the grassy ground. "This is where I have been staying lately... in the forest near this field." he said, watching as Zekrom landed a good amount of yards away from Reshiram.
Reshiram's blue eyes glared at him, "Reshiiii!"
'Do you wish for me to attack, Master? Like last time? Is this why you have brought us here?'
N shook his head, "No, no battle. I feel like I should gain Touko's trust first, please? I... She... To me she's different from any other person. She means a lot to me, please don't screw it up." he whispered to Reshiram. Reshiram huffed and rolled his eyes, "Reshi,"
'So Master wishes for me to not screw it up and make up a little love story for him and the girl? As long as it has you hold the potential of truth, you wish is my command.'
N moaned uncomfortably, but didn't fight with his pokemon about this situation. 'Love story won't be bad... I... I think.' he thought.
