Coheed sighed. "She probably knows." He replied, sitting down. "When the names were called for wolves to go into the Trials, I wasn't picked. A younger wolf named Hazana was. When Sierra was picked, I argued with the Alpha about how Hazana was too young to go so he'd send me instead. I should've done something so I went instead of Sierra, but at least I can try to protect her here."

Tomorr said, "I wish you luck with her," then got up to leave. "I would appreciate it if you didn't 'scout' anymore. And I'd also watch out tomorrow night... Stay together. Be on alert. Make sure you all know how to fight." With that, he disappeared into the bushes and went to sleep with the rest of his group. Sierra had reached their 'campsite' for the night and saw Kiyiya... and no Coheed. WHAT?! She scrambled around and couldn't see him anywhere. Her eyes showed fright for what might've happened to him and she was very distraught at this. The snowy she-wolf sat down in front of Kiy to take Coheed's place. Hopefully he'd turn up by morning.

Coheed laid his ears back as Tomorr spoke, and once he left, Coheed bolted back toward the pack's mini-camp. Maybe if he got back quickly enough, Kiyiya wouldn't realize he'd left when he wasn't supposed to. He sprinted back, skidding to a halt when he reached the mini-camp, and sighing in relief when he realized Sierra was there. He wasn't sure how long she had been there for, but he laid down a few feet away from where she was. "Sorry..." He said, wondering if she knew that he'd followed her.

"Where were you?!" she growled, though it was soft so as not to wake Kiy. "I had a mini panic attack just now! I thought you might've been dead and joined Aketa! Explain yourself, NOW." Sierra was pretty annoyed and her tone showed it as she had stood up and talked, then sat back down and awaited a response. This better be good, she thought to herself.

He had a good excuse in mind. It was 'I thought I heard something, and I went to go see what it was.' But he paused instead. "I...followed you. I lost track of you as soon as I found Aketa. I'm sorry." He paused again. "I just didn't want them to hurt you." He had a feeling she wasn't going to like this very well, and that she was about to snap at him, and he laid his ears back.

Sierra still had an upset ex
pression on her face that only got more upset when she heard the truth. "Uh-huh," she said, annoyance thick in her voice. "I'm sure I can take care of myself, Coheed. But thanks for caring. Just don't care next time. Alright?" She then turned around and laid down about two feet from Kiyiya, still looking at Coheed. "You can be sentry tonight. I need my beauty sleep." The last sentence was uttered as a joke, but it may not have sounded that way completely because of how completely ticked off she was at the moment.

Don't care?! That angered him. He wasn't angry with Sierra, but with what she'd just said. "Don't try and take care of yourself out here! We need to stick together or we're going to die! So what if you think you can take care of yourself? So did Aketa, and if you've forgotten where that got him, feel free to take a look at that spot in the grass where he's rotting." Coheed paused. "And you don't want me to care about you? Why not? Shouldn't you be grateful that I care? Especially in this situation? I didn't have to get myself purposely thrown into the Trials. Do you think my real concern was whether or not Hazana was old enough to go into this? It wasn't. I wasn't concerned about whether or not Hazana went out here-- I mean, I don't even know her! I argued with Covalt so that he would send me into the Trials because you were here. And because I didn't want you to get hurt." Why am I admitting these things...?! |

Too bad for Coheed, Sierra was incredibly tired. The short pause between the time she said something and he said something was long enough for her to doze off, and Sierra was a deeeeeeep sleeper. Yelling? Hah. That wasn't going to wake her up. Her deep breathing indicated that she was asleep, though Kiyiya was not like her. He opened his eyes to look up at Coheed, awake, and Sierra, sleeping nearby. "Coheed... What are you doing? Do you want me to switch with you now?" he asked calmly.

Coheed growled when he realized that she'd fallen asleep. He noticed that Kiy was awake now, too. "No, that's alright. I'm not really tired. Just...just go back to sleep, I'll stand guard." He paused. "And...by the way Kiyiya, you wouldn't have happened to hear any of what I just said- or tried to say to Sierra, would you...?"

"Not really, I just heard yelling," Kiyiya answered, then promptly fell asleep once more, as he was still groggy and was able to return to sleep easily.
(Ok I just cannot RP people sleeping very well. Timeskip to morning?)

(Sure.) Coheed was still standing guard, but he hadn't been paying a ton of attention last night at all. He'd been more focused on his own thoughts, which were mostly about Sierra. He'd come to the conclusion that she wanted nothing to do with him. And for the most part, he'd given up. Sure, he still liked her, but he was done trying to get her attention. He was laying down at the edge of the mini-camp, watching the woods in front of him. |

Sierra's eyes slowly opened, then shut themselves agian once the harsh sunlight shone into them. She rolled over and grumbled something unintelligible, then after a pause, got up and opened her eyes again, groggily padding over to Coheed and laying down next to him. After a while of saying nothing, she turned her head to him.
"I'm sorry," she said with the utmost sincerity. "I shouldn't have said what I did. What you did was actually pretty....
sweet." She looked away and stared down at her paws.

Coheed looked over to her, thinking that maybe she was being sarcastic, but she didn't seem to be. Not at all. His upset ex pression quickly transformed into a smile, but it faded in a couple of seconds, as he remembered something he'd wanted to tell her when he was standing guard the night before. Sierra found herself... oddly, enough... Liking Coheed's smile. She was confused at herself and shooed the thought away. "Oh, yeah," she answered his question, nodding. "I spied on their conversation about it. I was going to tell you guys the details when Kiyiya woke up." Then something crossed her mind.. "How do you know?"
And then she remembered about him following her.
"Oh, never mind. You probably heard the same conversation when you were following me, right? Sorry. Dumb moment for me there."

Sierra furrowed her brows, then relaxed. "Depends on what that favor is.." she said, wondering what this favor of his could be. Especially during battle. What type of thing would she be doing apart from trying to fight the best she could at the time? They were outnumbered. They needed everyone to try to defend their pack.

Sierra huffed. "And why would I do that?" she said, clipped and guarded once more. She was nice. But now he's being all overprotective again and totally not helping with the whole 'battle' situation. Her tail twitched in slight irritation once as she awaited his answer, and it must be something better than.. say... 'You're a girl' or 'You can't fight'. Honestly, Sierra wasn't going to put up with that crap right now.

Coheed thought for a moment. He didn't know what to say, exactly. It was because he didn't want her to get hurt, but he wasn't about to just say that. He tried to come up with an excuse, but couldn't. "It's just that..." He sighed. "...It's just that I saw what happened to Aketa. I don't want that to happen to you."

Sierra gave Coheed a 'you've got to be kidding me' look. "Yes, but I'm not Aketa, am I? I don't want to brag, but I'm impeccably smarter than most wolves, especially Aketa, and he was doing a poor scouting job and got mauled. I will be battling and will be prepared. Big difference in scenarios, here," she argued. "Plus, if either of you get hurt, I'll probably put it all on me. Just.. maybe, if you're so worried, teach me how to fight better. So I can help more."
