Isedon cocked her head at his suggestions before shaking it in a negative. "It's not stupid. But we do need some more food if whatever this bad thing is decides to make us wait forever," she said, running her fingers through her hair and getting them snagged on a few tangles. With a muffled curse, she used to nails to tease the knots out.

I lifted an eyebrow, choosing not to argue. Though I didn't think her coming with me was a bad idea like I had first thought. If she's with me, whatever this 'big bad thing' is, I could easily handle it. If she was here, I wouldn't be able to protect her. So, I slipped on my shoes and shrugged to show my acknowledgement.
I walked out the door, this time not hearing Puddles bark around the neighborhood like I usually do.

Isedon frowned. "When I was thirteen I think. Parents came home on the worst buzz ever and did something that gave me another scar. I couldn't walk for three weeks afterwards," she said. Unbidden, thoughts of that night rose in her minds eye. The pain. The smell of burnt flesh. Her own cries for pleading them to stop. Russet eyes closed tightly and she shook her head to chase away the memory.

That wasn't the best conversation starter. "Do you remember how many times they 'signaled' something bad would happen?" I asked, hoping to steer away from bad memories. I secretly wondered if she had any good memories, though I wouldn't dare ask. Now.

"So all the times happened to be with your parents involved?" Maybe that was it. Maybe her parents were looking for her and would just so happen come to my house? But I don't know how that would be a bad thing. Maybe that meant they missed her...

Her lips pursed. "Once they tingled when I was with the downtown gangs. They were teaching me to fight, scars tingled, then the cops showed up. Rafael and Daman managed to get me out safely along with the younger members of the gangs. But they got caught." She cocked her head. The other leaders had gotten caught by the cops as well. But all seven of them would be out by the end of the month.
Still. To be behind bars for nigh on six years. She missed those guys with their easy going personalities and the tough-guy charade they put on when just goofing with their gangs.

Once again, I somehow brought the conversation back to her parents. It was like I was asking for awkward air. "Oh. That must have... Sucked."
I ran a hand through my hair, finally coming across the store area of the town. Once coming up to the food store, I opened the door for her. "Let's be quick. Whatever this thing is, I kind of would rather have it happen in my house."

Isedon nodded and slipped through the door. "I don't really need much. Its just that I don't think I could live off of cereal," she said, wrinkling her nose somewhat. Her russet eyes landed on one of those small carts with the two stories and quickly pulled it out from its place.
"The bigger carts are too big, and the baskets are too small," she said. The ones she picked would be able to hold just the right amount of foodstuffs.

Isedon nodded and pushed the cart as she started to wander around the store, looking for anything that looked remotely interesting. After a little while, the cart now held honey ham and yellow american cheese, two loaves of bread, peanut butter and jelly, and some other fruits. She could live off of this, she decided as she stopped the cart to take a quick stock of what she had acquired.
