Don't worry about it. We'll find him. We just have to go a little further.
Trance turned around quickly, and his tailed hit the bars hard. It made a loud clanking sound.
Shoot, we have to get out of here now. There is no doubt they heard that.
Trance rushed off, hoping that they could make it out in time.

Gardenia was running at the back. She kept making large earthen spikes pop out from behind her. At least now they couldn't get surrounded. They had almost reached the doors when they started to close. Trance made it out fine, and Gardenia was glad he had been in the front or he would have been squished. Gardenia hoped her small size would allow her to get through the door...

Zara smaked into the door bars and what was most likely Gardenia, slammed into her back. She let out a loud cry. Zara's vision was still blurry from hitting the door head first. She felt chains being put around her feet. 'Was Gardenia fighting back or did she have the same unlucky knock out as me?' Zara asked her self before every thing went black.

Trance slammed at the door with no luck. He would have to go or he would be captured...
I'm so sorry...
He flew off with the closest things to tears that dragons have shedding from his eyes.

Gardenia Fought the hands that held her, and the hands almost one until she saw Zara. She stopped fighting and looked them calmly in the eye. This was when she was her scariest. She said comandingly, yet sofly:
You will die.
The humans let go of her immediately, but she wasn't in the mood for leaving survivors. Rock spikes pierced them through the heart and shot down the middle of their bodies, splitting them into equal halves. She had lost so many friends and family, so many good dragons gone, so many good humans gone, that she was not going to lose another. Once all of her captors were dead, she quickly flicked her tail at the captors of Zara. They all had the wind knocked out of them or their skulls crushed from impact. Zara was not going to go. No way, no how. She walked over to the chains that were lying on the floor and bit the cuffs off of Zara's wrists. She turned just in time to see the humans recovering from losing their breath. She just flicked a foot and rock spikes pinned them to the walls, and she slapped them with her tail another time. They died instantly. She sat down next to Zara, constantly on alert, and wrapped her tail around Zara's. If anyone tried to take her, she would automatically know.

Zara Slowly opened her eyes. She had incredible memory so she had not forgotten where she was. "How are we going to get out?" She asked a bit dizzy. "Is it even possible to get out?" Zara looked around. 'of coarse' she thought as she saw a big red lever on the wall. Zara reached up to pull it. When the doors opened she was ready to embrace Trance, but there was no sign of him. "He left us? How could he?!" She almost began to cry. "I love him... I really do..." she said and looked to the ground.

Gardenia looked at Zara. She walked over and nuzzled her in the head.
I'm sure he didn't want to. Those doors don't look able to open on the outside. I actually heard him screaming our names while you were knocked out. It probably tore him to pieces when he had to leave, but he couldn't just stay and get captured. He probably left part of him at this door when he had to go, but if you were outside these doors, would you pound on them endlessly until you broke them? You couldn't break them. He probably was filled with hopelessness and despair, but hwy would he lose his freedom without a chance of gaining yours? There is no way humans didn't spot him. There is absolutely know way he could fight off an entire city, no matter how strong he is. He wouldn't leave us without a reason Zara, and the best thing we can do right now is search for him.

"He can't be far can he? Zara asked. "Come on we should fly as fast as we can!" She said spreading her wings. "We will find and we will save drake!" She was determined. Zara leaped off the ground and took flight knowing Gardenia would follow.

Gardenia took off after her. They would definitely need to find Trance to find Drake. Soon they came upon a small mountain range.
That looks like where his race came from. Maybe he hid there!
She swerved down into the canyons and flew between mountains, looking for any sign of Trance.

Trance had parked himself in his old home in the mountains. It had been long since the last of his family had died off, and he had known that no one would be here. He had caught a large deer and quickly devoured it. Most dragons would have loved to be home, but it depressed him. He put his head on his paws and looked outside of his cave. He couldn't believe they were gone. Gardenia had finally started to grow on him, and he had really started to like Zara, but like everything else in his life, they had been ripped out from under him. He closed his eyes and fell asleep, and as puffs of darkness flowed out of his nostrils, the sky became darker. It is a little known fact that his race controlled what time night started by when they went to sleep.

Zara immidently saw Trance and yelled. "Trance!" She was, again, almost in tears. Unaware of how it suddenly changed to night she hugged him and smiled. "I'm glad I found you! Well I couldn't have found you without Gardenia." Zara smiled and looked to Gardenia.

Gardenia smiled and flew off. Zara really liked Trance.

Trance blinked the sleep out of his eyes and the darkness of night suddenly disappeared.
I thought you were dead. I am so sorry I left you guys. You have no idea how much it hurt. Are you okay?
He looked her up and down. There were a few cuts around her ankles. He wondered how they got there.

That's fine, it's just now the humans will know I am in the area. I control when it gets dark by my sleep, and when you woke me up it made it morning.
He looked up at the sky that should have been pitch black. It was as bright as noon.
This might be a problem.

Zara began to fly off but before she could, she sensed a small energy source. Zara went to look behind a rock, where a small girl shivered. If this was an older human she would have no mercy, but she wasn't cruel enough to kill one of their hatchlings. Zara thought she could just scare it off, but when she growled the youngling just clinked to her snout. "Guys you should come see this. It looks like its only in the first few years of its life." It did look about 3 or 4.

Trance walked over and looked at the little thing. It was shivering from cold and exhaustion.
Is that... a hatchling? How did it get up here? Should we kill it? It knows so much.

Gardenia walked over to the trembling little girl, and nuzzled her hand. She spoke in her mind to it.
Don't be afraid. My name is Gardenia, and I won't hurt you, I promise. How did you get up here? Where is you family? Are you injured?

As they all stud around the girl, she sat there quietly without saying a word. "Can it even talk?" Zara asked. "I guess we could take it with us. I mean it doesn't seem to have the darkness of the older humans yet." She said trying to get the girl off her snout.

The little girl got off or Zara and walked over to Gardenia. She placed a small hand on Gardenia's muzzle.
I-i-i, I can't talk out loud. My parents abandoned me for I was a disgrace to the family name. They said I don't deserve to live. My name is Kayla, are the others going to hurt me?
She looked over warily at the two dragons behind Gardenia
Of course not little one. I'll tell them you are friendly. Would you like to come with us? We can provide you with food and shelter.
Yes please Miss Gardenia. Tell them all about me.
This is Kayla. She can't speak, so her parents put her here because they thought she had no right to live. She is going to come with us, and I am going to let her ride on my back. Got it?

Okay, Miss Gardenia, please be careful.
Gardenia ducked her head and Kayla climbed on. Gardenia immediately took off. She had to catch up to the other two. She felt something warm and gross smelling dribble down her back.
I'm so sorry Miss Gardenia, I just threw up on you.
That's okay, just don't do it again.
Gardenia picked up some more speed and zoomed through the sky.

Zara couldn't help but giggle at Gardenia. "Oh there was a lever. They should really be smarter." 'idiots, those humans' Zara thought. "You'd think they would have a main control system that does that." she said and rolled her eyes.
After they had been flying for a while Zara's wings started to get tired. "We should rest here. the kid is probably getting tired." She said as an excuse.
